Welcome to beyond the coverage I’m Chris hoer and today’s edition I want to cover some of the big races that are coming up for our four four big-time Stars Primos Rog Tad jonis Vino and of course Rim coiple these four Riders got four different calendars and some of them

Will overlap and we’re talking about at the tour of the bass country and dolphan a where of course like I said before yonas Primos ret and Rimco EV the pool will battle in those two events before they get to the Tour of France where we

See all four of the Mega stars of the European pelaton come together and really do a battle but which Rider of the four really have the hardest schedule coming well that’s easy in terms of the hardest schedule I’ll show you the schedule here of Tad pagach and

You look it’s Strada bian It’s Milan San Ramo of course he’s going to go into the Juro as his main objective and he’s going to try to do the double so that’s easy to see who has the hardest schedule leading into the Tor of France but

There’s a lot more to bike racing than just what’s the heart program because remember when we go back and look at Tad pagach our schedule St of bian there’s no Primos RIT there there’s no yonis vineo there there’s no Tad paga there when he goes to Milan s raino that’s a

Different story he’s got a deal against some of the big big one-day bike racing classics you know Matthew vandero W van art those guys who have won already at Milan San Ramo so that’s a whole different program right there but then when you start going looking at Catalonia again he’s missing the other

Three big stars that do G races and they’re not going to be there so if we look at T pagach schedule before the tour to France and you say hey he does the jural and he wins the Jal he goes to the tour to France well I remember way

Back in the day when Tony roer won the jro he got to the tour to France and he said hey if I don’t win the Tour and on my legs are hurting so what I won the jro that’s what TD pagar gets to do if

He wins the jro so does he really have the hardest program well yes on paper it’s still the hardest but is it really the hardest I don’t think it is when we start looking over at the other writers let’s take a look at Rim coipo the

Bellum riter he’s got El garve on his schedule then of course he has the classics flesh wone le beston le and of course he’s going to do Amo gold before those so he’s got an incredibly hard schedule when you look at his but he can

Win Al garve he can go into the one day Classics he can win flesh wone Amel gold then he only has to battle against T pagach at Le best on Le that’s a hard program there but he’s got some room to win some races before he gets to the

Bass country and loses right if he goes to the bass country and loses against pretty most Ritch and Jonas Veno he already won one of the one- day Classics possibly and of course Al Garvey which he’s won before so is that the hardest program I don’t really know if that is

Either when we look over at yonas Vino and we see his schedule he’s going to do the race there in Galia starting off the season that he won last year Grant can C Camino sorry my bad pronunciation of course it’s the butterfly effect and Beyond the coverage but we see that he

Can go and he can win there and then he can go to trino adriatico and he doesn’t battle against anyone no T pagach no Rimco no Primos R glitch at at trino adriatico so yonas can win trino adriatico then go to the bass country and lose the baset country to REM Co

Evol or Primos roget then he can lose again at dolphin a to start the tour to France but he wanton Rino adriatico that’s still going into the tour with a little bit of confidence if you got some wins already on your resume so let’s go over the Primos roget his calendar looks

Like to me to be the most difficult one because he’s going to start at Perry n he’s got to go against Remco Evol and beat Remco there and then he’s going to go over to the bass country and deal with Remco and yonas at the bass country

Then he’s got to go to dolphin a and he’s got to win there now let’s take a look and say wow okay Chris he’s only got three races so he has tons of training and tons of preparation but if he loses all three of those races and he

Starts the tour to France with zero wins not only does he have zero wins of the Season not only has he gotten beat by REM K in the pool and Jonas vineo before the Tour of France starts so the drama’s going to be crazy high right but let’s

Say he’s only got three events like I’ve already said and let’s look at it from another angle and see he wins all three now let’s look at the drama because of course Rimco evole is going to lose those two races jonis Vino will lose those two races going into the torto

France sorry I go back to Rimco where lost three CU he’s got to do Perry n also against Primos rogich so now all of a sudden you look at Primos rogich if he wins all three of those he starts a tour to France he’s thinking wow this is

Great I’ve already won three big races in the season and the drama switches all the way over to visma Lisa bike because they let Primos brokage go over the Bora Hans gr so then you start seeing the drama no matter how you look at the 2024 season when we’re talking about the four

Biggest stars of bike racing in the European pelaton once we get to the Tor France Riders one of the four if not three of the four most likely are going to have some kind of drama going into the torto France where their season hasn’t been Spectacular Now I could be

Wrong right could be Primos rogich loses Perry nce but wins bass country and then loses DOL that’s still a good season if you won the bass country or maybe you want won Dolph and not the bass country it’s still a good season when you start

So I could be wrong but let’s say Rim CO’s not on fantastic form and L loses to of course yonas Vino and Primos Rog but then of course wins a one-day classic his season becomes a success if he can go to the tour to France and just

Win a stage so there’s could be a lot of drama coming up in the 2024 season and when I look at it physically of course the most days of racing the hardest schedule tot pagota it’s easy he’s doing the jro going into the tour and the Double’s never been done since 1998 with

Marco pontani so we know physically that should be the hardest schedule but when you add in the mental stress and the importance of the three races that Primos rogich has I almost think he has the hardest schedule coming into the tour to France with even though it’s the

Least amount of races it’s going to be important for the Slovenian to be able to win one if not two of those events because he wants to beat Jonas at least once before the tour to France starts so that he has that confidence on his side

And then of course if he could win Perry n that relieve the stress right away because it’s the first race that he’s going to do for his new team Boran grow and guys I can tell you winning the first race when you switch to teams is always a good feeling I remember going

Over to web core back in the day when I went with those guys and we started winning right from the get-go of the season and it relieved pressure left and right when you go into the big races when I won Tour of California with Radio Shack I was told from Johan Bernell guys

We have to win there is no option the Tour of California is bigger for us than the tour to France because we’re not expected to win the Tour to France but we are expected the win Tour of California and we don’t have our sponsor backed up for next season it’s the same

Scenario when I was racing with Saturn and we went to Georgia when I was going over tour to Georgia it was me and Nathan O’Neal we had to win there because it was the first Prime Time big race that they had back in America that was coming back after the LOL and all

The big time races disappeared where only the tour of Redlands was left on the schedule so it was a big important race and the stress that each of the Riders the four favorites over in Europe are going to feel in this 2024 season is

Going to be hot and I think when I look at T pagach schedule even though we know physically it’s the hardest when we look at it it might be the easiest because he’s got plenty of opportunities to win where he doesn’t have to fight against the best other three riders in the world

And that’s talking about at the jro we’re talking about at strata bian so he’s got plenty of options to be able to win we look at yonas Vino he’s got options to win like I said at trino adriatico to win where he doesn’t have as much depth to B battle against there

And of course Rim qunol but Primos Rog every race he does it’s against some of the best riders in the world and it’s going to start there at Perry against Rim kuipo then we go bass country then dolphan a and then he starts to tour to

France so if he hasn’t won one of those three races for sure the pressure will be the hardest and when you got to beat REM quol and Jonas Figo you know you got hard programs so when I look at the schedule he has the lightest amount of

Races but I say he has the hardest part of the Season cuz the stress is going to be high but I think the Slovenian will win probably two if not all three of those races before the Tor of France starts and then the drama’s going to be

Put over there on viz M Lisa bike like we have never seen before now you guys know I don’t love the tactics from viz M Lisa bike in the past I hate them I think they’re some of the most ridiculous tactics on the planet when I

Look at how strong the team is but they’ve gotten away with it because they have massive power now all of a sudden the power has been dispersed with Primos rogich going over the Bor hrow so if yonis Vino they one big time sole leader on the team okay there’s wal van art

There but we know it’s a GC team they’re looking at the Tor of France they’re looking at the stage races and if jonis Vino hasn’t been winning well the big guy wal vanart better be doing something and of course we always know the Belgium kid normally does so that will relieve a

Little bit of pressure but it’s not going to be much if yonis vineo isn’t winning one of those first big time races that he’s doing in the beginning of the Season they’ll be dro all over the map when we’re looking at Vis molisa bike and the July Tor of France starts

June 29th a little bit early this season so the drama that they’ll be feeling if yonas Figo doesn’t win early in the season here it’s going to be high there when I look at the program Primos Rogas got a little bit of pressure on his shoulder but that Slovenian always seems

To deliver he did last season and he won dinino adriatico Catalonia won the cherro and then of course went to the Balta went on the podium there at the Balta after went in a couple stages so the slov should come through Jonas Vino should come through Ty Bacha should come

Through and R theol should but somebody’s got to fail right it seems to me when I’m sitting up here and Beyond the coverage that it’s going to be hard for all four Riders to deliver big time results before we get to the tour to France but they all have small

Opportunities to do it make sure you like And subscribe the drama is going to build up as the season starts here in 2024 I’ll see you on the next video of beyond the coverage real soon

    1. Second

ETA- I feel like the like the beginning of the 2023 season last year Jonas only won one of his big pre races before the TDF and Tadej beat him in the other or am I remembering wrong?

    2. The one that stays the freshest for the tour de France will peak and do the best.

Lance won so many 7 because he only focused on that race. Whoever saves themselves and doesn't spend their seasonal matches in other tours will do the best.

    3. Excellent overview, but now we need a follow-up that covers some of the wild cards in the Tour. Sepp is the main one that comes to mind with a chance of full support from Visma if Jonas falters early. But there are some other new talents with potential to surprise.

    4. I think you are absolutely right about Primož, here is no doubt that he is gonna kick some ass this season! And he is arguably the most motivated Guy in the Pro Peleton 😉 ❤ 🇸🇮

    5. Primož seems to like doing just a few stage races and mostly training camps leading up to the grand tours. What do you think of his kind of race program Chris? Do you think he needs more time to sharpen his racing or is it wise to reduce the chances of crashes?

    6. In Grand tours everyone has a bad day, some are very good at hiding it. in 2020, 2021 and even early 2022 season we thought Pogacar never had a bad day. Until the Tour came and precisely because of Roglic now Visma knows what it needs to do to happen. So I think, if nothing else, Roglic will expose Vingegaard's Achilles heel as well. I hope long before the Tour, so the drama will be high.

    7. I would be interested in your comments about Sepp Kuss and his prospects for 2024. Sepp is not only an amazing rider but an amazing person. FYI, I have an internet-based customer wheel business and have about 7500 regular newsletter readers and I mention your channel frequently. Keep up the good work. For me you make racing much more exciting than any of the TV based coverage.
