In this vlog I will be sharing all the exciting events and and experiences from our first day in Sweden. From the moment we stepped foot in this beautiful country, we were greeted with pleasant weather, which added to the overall charm of our adventure.

Of course, the vlog will also highlights the culinary delights that Sweden has to offer. Throughout the video, I will also keep viewers updated on the weather ,which plays a crucial role in setting the mood and ambiance of our adventure. whether its basking in the glorious sunshine or embracing the refreshing rain, we will make the most of the element t0 create an unforgettable experience.

Join with me on the exciting journey as we uncover the wonders of Sweden on our first day, all while celebrating the beauty of the weather , and getting lost in the charm of the city.
Surviving in cold weather, especially for those who are not accustomed to it, can be challenging. This is true for many people, including Indians, who are not used to extreme cold temperatures .

However, with the proper preparation and taking certain precautions , it is definitely possible for Indians (or anyone else) to survive and even thrive in the cold weather of Sweden. Here are some tips:

    Pack for the weather
Whatever time of year you visit be prepared for rain. Pack a lightweight raincoat for summer and a more substantial coat for winter. A travel umbrella will be handy too.
A coat is definitely necessary in the Fall (October and November), winter (December, January, February) and spring (March, April, May and June).
Winter can be absolutely freezing, so pack warm layers – a coat, gloves, warm hat and scarf.
To keep your feet warm pack boots with a water resistant sole and cosy fur lining. It’s important that you get soft rubber soles because even medium soles get really hard in the freezing cold. Make sure too that they have large spaces between the tracks, or the snow will get stuck in them and make them very slippery.
For extra warmth pack some long thermal underwear – you’ll be grateful you did. light wool is a good choice to wear against your skin as it naturally helps to regulate your body temperature. It keeps you warm in the cold, wicks away moisture when it’s hot, and doesn’t retain odours – even after prolonged wear.
Remember to pack your sunscreen (we love the Riemann P20 range for 10 hour protection) and sunglasses in the summer (July, August and September) for here you can bask in the Midnight Sun – and get a suntan!
Sunglasses are needed in the winter too, as the sun rays reflect off the white snow.
We love the Weather+ app – it gives an accurate 6 day forecast for day and night, which when you’re planning from home is really helpful. You can keep all the places you’ve been to too – a nice way to remember your trip πŸ™‚

    Jackets

You have quite a few options! Layering is great because then you can use the same jacket with different variations. If your legs get cold, a long jacket might be nice. If you plan on biking or running a lot though, you would be better off with a thinner and shorter jacket.

Winter jacket: Stadium, XXL, Decathlon are all stores I find to have a good selection. The jacket I use the most is a ski jacket I bought online though, so look around πŸ™‚
Spring/Autumn jacket: I like leather or thin waterproof jackets.
Waterproof jacket/raincoat: long ones will protect your thighs and butt and short ones are just convenient, so choose what you like!
Summer jacket: denim is good here, but basically anything light will do the trick.

    Check the weather!

A screenshot from the weather app, which says “Stockholm, 19Β°C” and other prediction of the weather in the coming hours, through the days of the week, etc.
I never did this when I lived in India because I travelled by car and the predictions weren’t super accurate. In Sweden though, the weather app basically dictates when I hang out with friends, my outfit for the day, my workout routines, and so on. So add Stockholm to your β€œweather favourites”
But! Bring your fancy traditional clothes if you like them. You’ll find communities and occasions to use them, I promise. Moreover, if it works well for you on a daily basis, then go for it – it only adds to the richness of life in Stockholm
