The Best Seaside Resort? Best Coast Road? Llandudno and The Great Orme!

What a way to end to a fantastic day. It could be the best day we’ve ever had touring on our motorcycle. An absolutely amazing deserted coast road around the Great Orme and wonderful Llandudno. Hidden gems. Wales just keeps on delivering the goods.

Hello and welcome to the Great British Biking Adventures Coast Series. In this series we are travelling around the coast on our motorcycle, a Honda VFR1200X Crosstourer.

A lot of our viewers are bike enthusiasts but this series will appeal to a wider audience. Why? Because there’s so much more to the Coast series than motorcycles. There’s the challenges, the journey, geography, history and people. You get to travel the entire coast of England and Wales with us, see how we did it, share our ups and downs, experience English culture, the history and hear about the people that made Britain ‘Great’!

What’s also good about the coast series is it doesn’t matter when you start watching, it’s like one of those open top bus tours – you can get on at any point and just keep going until you arrive back where you started.

Who are we? We’re a husband & wife living in an unremarkable coastal town in England. We’ve been married 35 years and were brought together by motorcycles. One day, Esther’s Honda Melody broke down and she brought it to Jarrod’s motorcycle shop – the rest (as they say) is history.

One cold February day, we started riding along the seafront and just kept going. We wanted to record the experience to have something to watch in the future – the YouTube channel was an afterthought. Take a look at those first few episodes to see just how novice we were, cobbling together what little phone footage we had to try to make a story. To make up for our amateur recording and shyness we added information in the editing. This set the tone and style of our videos, we hope you like it. We like to think we’ve improved and hopefully you’ll agree, take a look, compare our earlier videos with the later ones and let us know in the comments.

There’s also the filming and production journey. When we started we knew nothing about filming, video and audio production, editing, YouTube and the like. We’ve learnt loads and spent loads in time and money along the way but it’s been almost as enjoyable as the journey itself. You’ll hopefully appreciate how far we’ve come.

But what’s with all those bible verses we hear you say. We know some of you don’t appreciate this aspect, one or two have told us in the comments! That’s fine – it really is. All are equally welcome here, believers and unbelievers. It would be a pity if you enjoyed everything else but just stopped watching because of the Christian references but we completely accept you’re free to do as you please.

Our faith has prompted us to include a bible verse in our videos and sometimes a Christian perspective on the things we talk about. The channel is not about Christianity but our faith cannot be separated from it. We hope and pray that it will make you think, inquire and even bring you into a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.

Terracing gorgeous isn’t it Yeah Wow I’ve never been here before in it’s incredible nicely kept up together it’s got a little mini eye I don’t expect it feels very mini when you go on it they boosted it by perching it on the side of the Hill it’s yeah Grand Hotel

Yeah so this I think takes us into the great or right it’s 250 for a motorcycle thank you you’re welcome have a good work thank you so this is the great or in North Wales it’s got a great road going around it pretty sure it’s one way

So we don’t have to worry about anything coming around this corner just 250 for the toll cute was that and I think it’s possibly the best coastal road so far amazing beautiful isn’t it yeah look at that e now I’ve got us going up to the

Summit yes up a steep zigzag yeah I’m not sure how steep it is but we’re going to give it a go just up here on the left isn’t it cool sorry about that this is two-way there was an arrow there turning know it is two-way down okay use your horn

That’s not too bad at all no they’re all right aren’t they car coming so hopefully you can give us some room that not too bad at all over doing them a bit if anything Oh there your cable car oh yes that’s nice yeah that must be fun yeah I wonder where oh it must go from landed no wow that far yeah it must be yeah I saw it at the botton there was a sign brain sign for it yeah that must be lovely

Oh yeah look at it I wonder how long in the day it runs for oh I’m just thinking about jumping on it and Welling straight back along it if we stayed in landed know that you could do it but yeah I mean well even

There if we go up to the sunic now yeah yeah and oh there’s the tram on the left yeah yeah a got it all going on some kind of excavation Bronze Age of mine m Yeah Where we made in times and everything you know and like uh when went to Scotland last year uh daughter bought us you know this is the adventure begins of summer so I wrote a solid sort of book ftic and now you know we’ve done

This and I got to come back and do mod of North Wales and more of Wales of Britain it’s just fantastic so this is the summit of the great orm where we’ve had a cup of tea and a chat we’ve met Brin and Cath on their motorcycle happy

Anniversary they’re out on a motorbike ride reminiscing from the day they got married so that was nice and we met Phil and V who were from Huddersfield um exploring out in their car traveling all over the place by the sound of it as well so really lovely to meet you both

Couples Phil I hope you don’t mind me saying but it was like listening to Fred didner love it so this is a stunning place Place incredible views there’s a tram that comes up and there’s a cable car 200 A The wall leaves you unsighted doesn’t it yeah they could almost do with a mirror yeah it’s not too bad you get an idea I don’t know why I didn’t know what to EXP when I first came up so I took them really wide but they’re not too bad in V is anyone

Thinking of doing it it’s um yeah there it’s a tourist destination and Route isn’t it so they’ve made it very doable yeah By A A I A So here left and then turn left and then at the roundabout turn right keep going straight on at these lights but then the next right so carrying on and now you should be approaching a right and it’s down here carton Street Carden Hotel there there we are

H i don’t reckon well they said they had parking didn’t they okay so we found a hotel um we looked online and this hotel got fantastic reviews and so we thought before we book it we’ll just make sure they can accommodate the motorcycle and we got here we got no

Reply and um but we did end up booking It Anyway really nice guy next door said that a brilliant Hotel blah blah so we thought okay he said they parking on on the road was fine so that’s what we’ve done um and we booked it but we can’t

Find the owner so the owner of the hotel is currently awall we’ booked a room and we’ve uh we’ve been let into the hotel by another guest and we’re now in the residence Lounge um waiting for the owner to turn up wow we’ll keep you updated

You’ll be pleased to know the land lady made an appearance and her establishment didn’t disappoint us it was the archetypal British Guest House kept and run to the very highest standards you’ve probably noticed this episode was a bit of a departure from our normal format no narration or
