860,000 people are evacuated! Cars and people are carried away by Cyclone Belal in Mauritius
Natural disaster 15 January 2024.
The Mauritius Meteorological Service has issued a warning for a Category 3 cyclone.
Severe flooding has hit Mauritius as Tropical Cyclone Belal approached dangerously.
Belal previously struck the French overseas territory of Reunion before heading towards Mauritius.
Social media widely shares videos of cars sinking and streets submerged in rushing water.
The Mauritius International Airport announces its closure until further notice due to the cyclone.
Banks, government institutions, and private businesses have also shut down in response.
Authorities advise the population to stay in safe places as “torrential rains” are expected in the coming hours.
The cyclone is approximately 170 kilometers west of Le Morne, moving southeast at about 12 kilometers per hour.
The cyclonic wind radius is likely to cross the southern part of the island, and Belal is expected to pass closer to the south tomorrow morning.
Additionally, Cyclone Belal wreaked havoc on the French island of Reunion in the Indian Ocean on Monday.
Reunion’s local authorities lifted the highest alert level on Sunday after the storm’s most intense part passed.
However, residents are still urged to remain indoors on the island with a population of about 860,000.
Persistent heavy rains and winds reaching speeds of up to 170 kilometers per hour are expected to continue.
The Mauritius government declares a state of emergency in response to the cyclone’s impact.
Rescue operations are underway to assist those affected by the flooding and extreme weather conditions.
Emergency shelters have been opened to provide refuge for displaced residents.
International assistance is being mobilized to support Mauritius in dealing with the cyclone aftermath.
The cyclone’s path has disrupted transportation and essential services across the island.
The Red Cross and other humanitarian organizations are coordinating relief efforts to provide aid to affected communities.
Satellite images show the vast extent of flooding in residential and agricultural areas.
Coastal regions are on high alert for storm surges and potential additional flooding.
Meteorologists are closely monitoring Belal’s trajectory and updating the public on any changes.
The government urges citizens to stay informed through official channels for real-time updates.
As Mauritius braces for the impact of Cyclone Belal, international solidarity grows in support of the affected population.

What's going on in all these countries , it's going to end

Looks like the world is going to end
So painful 💔 for those people who had to endure such situations. Difficult n catastrophic situations. 😢.
Unfortunate. Alert! Nature changed its phase, changed its behavior, its way of acting and every change causes disruption that leads humanity to almost total destruction. Read the book universe in disenchantment by Cultura Racional on the development of reasoning and learn how to stop these events and, through knowledge of their origin and the changing nature, return to their natural state of pure, clean and perfect rational energy. Nature is alive and will not stop these events until everyone has developed their reasoning: we are in the Rational era of nature.

Anybody who lives close to the coast, needs to rethink, and move, no coast in the world will be safe, everywhere will have the waters from the ocean coming out and covering everything,

ใช่ครับจุดนี้ละที่ควรจะมีองค์กรเข้ามาช่วยเหลือผู้ประสบภัยธรรมชาติ อย่างทีเคยเกิดแผ่นดินไหวที่ ไฮติ.
Proteção Senhor
Most Mauritians were safe; only the usual places and a minor part of port louis and motorways got badly flooded. Due to poor drainage conditions. The worst is : it happened before some 10 yrs back
