Manila Philippines – Welcome everyone to a city that many people told us they didn’t like and some told us to completely avoid. This is Manila, the bustling capital of the Philippines. Somewhere that we never thought we would visit, and to be honest… WE LOVE IT. We have never met such warm and welcoming locals than right here in Manila city centre and we plan to meet many more amazing people here.

Some people say they love it some people  say they absolutely hate everything about this city  mango good and cheese cheese  strawberry cheese flavor oh wow oh my   God this is the best mango ice cream ever! it’s an absolute nightmare here for traffic  

Trying to speak over the horn the horns  of the cars you just got to stick up the   hand and go for it yeah that’s it it’s the  magic hand magic hand yeah first time trying   some Filipino street food they come from from  Germany Germany Germany from Germany dis oh s

Dish welcome back to the center of Manila we  are in intramuros right now and to be specific   we are at the Cathedral of Manila and it’s so  so stunning it seems like they have some sort   of decoration maybe for um still from Christmas  and New Year’s maybe that’s kind of what it looks  

Like going on but uh yeah it’s so stunning from  the outside and I cannot wait to go inside and   check out this Cathedral this place is gorgeous  yeah guys intramuros is really blowing us away so   far and uh yeah welcome to another video let’s  see what’s inside this Cathedral you make your  

Church fruitful with strength every new and offer  us your signs of Your Love do this in memory of [Music] me very beautiful cathedral and we  are very lucky and blessed to have been able   to experience that we went inside and we uh were  planning on bringing you in and showing you around  

But there was a mass taking place so we kind of  just stood there and enjoyed the proceedings we   definitely didn’t want to speak too loudly while  we were in there so we just hope you enjoyed  

That little bit of the snippet of inside of that  Cathedral it was a fascinating place and you can   really feel the history in there as well and uh we  are currently outside of palaso Del gobernador and   again I’m probably uh terrible pronunciation  but this is a very beautiful building as well  

Absolutely massive and very uniquely constructed  too like many places here I feel like when you   say these things you just have to put the emotion  into it you have to say Palo yeah and then then  

It sounds right that’s true but now guys the  plan for us we’re going to go on a little bit   of a wand around Manila we’re going to have some  food see what else we can get up to see what we  

Can try we haven’t tried Filipino street food  yet we haven’t tried proper Filipino food at   all actually ever in my life so we’re going to  go on a little bit of an adventure and look for  

Some food and take you guys with us so let’s see  what we can find looks like there’s some sort of   a market situation going on here I don’t know okay  maybe we can find some food here yep let’s have a look

Fish curries you have a selection of pretty  much everything here yeah this is cool and   uh really interesting graffiti over there in  the background too I’m kind of I have to kind  

Of hold on I’m going to try and get in here not  sure how it works yep it sort of looks like you   have to like just pick your own things and then  they will tell you how much it is yeah exactly  

Maybe let’s see what we can find which one did  youa aala Tasty for this you try yeah can we try let’s try it out yeah there you go  give it a try best of all a with rice

Oh that mean tasty or tasty very nice it looks  good how good it looks very good though looks   like it’s h well spiced yeah is it spicy no no no  just a little bit I mean spiced not spicy I mean  

Just different herb SE egg and uh tomato tomato  and egg oh oh W oh thank you so much you want your   egg want this one your egg oh yeah and tomato  this one tomato as well oh Green Tomato yeah nice that looks really good I’m  wondering there’s a spoon over

There this spoon is fine I don’t need F okay oh Sal thank you thank you so  much this looks very interesting   want a soft drink yeah yeah sure uh yeah  Coke unless you wanted something different   Coke perfect yeah really wondering what  the what uh vegetable this green one is

M oh it’s it’s a little bitter it’s  nice not spicy at all you can taste   the egg and there is egg tomato onions and  then um this one I don’t know maybe bitter   is that what it taste that’s bitter very  bitter thank you so much here you want to  

Try yours got some coke guys let’s give  this a try thank you so much thank you so much right guys first time trying some  Filipino street food now I did not truly   grasp what this is actually called please  let us know down in the comments because  

I’m sure I’m going to win enjoy it I  do like bitter flavors so I’m going   to take a piece of this and some rice  mix it together see how it is I have no expectation [Music] mhm it’s very good very good it’s very  bitter as well I think it’s bagur it tastes like  

Bagur but I’m not sure it tastes like um almost  like a like a boiled boiled bitter good um and   it is has a little bit of a bite to it but uh yeah  I have no idea to be honest what we’re eating but  

This is exactly how we like to experience new  food in a new country is just going to a nice   place like this and trying it out or asking a  local what we need to be trying this is very  

Very good though very tasty can taste the egg in  there as well yeah look at that can see the egg   as well a little bit but I do like the flavor it  is it’s bitter so keep in mind if you’re someone  

That doesn’t like bitter this might not be  for you for me this is perfect um there’s   also sauces there on the side I don’t know if you  want to try a sauce cuz for me um I a little bit  

Of like a spice or something is missing I really  is banana ketchup banana ketsup banana KET soup   banana cetp I’m just sort of I miss a little  bit of like a spiciness or maybe some vinegary   type of thing this looks like maybe a vinegar  chili possibly that might be worth adding on to  

Yours yeah I think I will try this you have a soy  sauce as well it’s very liquid though very liquid   soy sauce very interesting looking at this uh  green vegetable I kind of thought it was like  

A green bell pepper or something like that but  no it is it’s quite bitter I really I’m really   wondering if it’s bitter gird or not it could be  it might as well be something completely different  

As we said very new to the Philippines no idea  what we’re doing so we need the support of you guys very very unique something like  I’ve never tasted before honestly good choice as well with the coke  because Coke is a little bit sweet  

Very refreshing as well and it actually  hairs perfectly with this dish so it’s perfect there’s a good few SS over here actually  as well all of them selling their own individual   local dishes and uh yeah this was a good choice  yeah Naomi just kind of casually strolled in  

Here I saw it from from the cathedral like  in the distance I just saw these little uh   rooftops from the market stands here so I  was just like this looks like it’s where   the locals eat and usually where the locals  eat you will find the best food so that’s  

Why we decided to come here there also a dish  over there that I read right now it’s called   a special mommy wonder what that is about  what is a special mommy sounds very funny though hey guys absolutely delicious very  interesting something genuinely like I said  

We never tried those types of flavors before  it’s strongly bitter taste from the green uh   vegetable that is in there paired with the rice  though it makes it uh it makes it doable it’s   very tasty though I definitely would try that  again for sure and like I said if you pair it  

With a sweet drink the bitterness doesn’t really  take over much now the cost for the two ishes   that we had was 134 pesos so let us know down  below is that a local price or did we just get  

Uh tourist toied I think it was totally fine two  dishes and two coca-colas I think it’s okay it’s   because the drinks were also included in it I  think it’s just a normal price just just about   €1 per person so it’s fine um that’s very true  actually I didn’t even take into account about  

The coca-colas it’s a great price it comes  to if you’re talking about Euros or dollars   it’s just over like two $2 or twoo which is  fantastic we had a pretty large and filling   meal especially with the rice and the coke as  well so yeah great guys it’s the first time  

That our first experience with Filipino street  food as well and now I think we’re going to go   and walk through the city of Manila for  a little bit see what we can find I hope  

That the rain holds off it does look look like  a pretty cloudy day right now but we should be fine very very beautiful Monument there for the  liberation of the Philippines which happened   in I believe August 1945 from the Japanese  it’s a beautiful statue though not going to  

Lie it’s uh really nice and to put it here  in intramuros as well of all places this   is a this whole like inner workings of the  walls of intramuros is just so fascinating   you can really just spend an entire day  in here learning all about the history  

And culture of this amazing country speaking of  beautiful buildings cultural buildings look at thiso hello sounds like yeah little bit  of construction going on here as well guys   probably just fixing the roads so they’re more  drivable or accessible they’re putting red uh  

Brick red brick down yeah it’s going to be very  beautiful once this is finished for sure cu the   red brick contrasting with these old beautiful  buildings amazing so we were just talking about   the construction and how beautiful it will be  with the red brick and here you go you have a  

Great example right here so you have the red brick  and then the beautiful this here is San Augustine   church now probably seems like we’re just showing  you church after church after church but that’s   just where we are at the moment in intramuros  right now I think we’re going to make our way  

Towards um a very beautiful and popular Park  that goes by the name of Ral uh let’s go and   check that out we always love a good green space  especially in a city if it’s a large city where   there’s lots of traffic and stuff like that  which is certainly Manila it’s nice to escape  

To a beautiful Green Space and feel like you’re a  little bit separated from the madness for a while   and that’s what intramuros does as well yeah in  tramas also there’s a lot of areas that has no  

Traffic at all or maybe just like a little  bit of traffic here so as you can see it’s   a lot of pedestrianized more or less and um I  completely forgot what I wanted to usually in  

All of the green spaces around cities as well  there is food sold so uh I’m sort of right now   looking for a little bit of a dessert or maybe  I don’t know some sweet shake or something  

Like that so uh I’m really looking forward to  see if elal park has something like that to offer all right guys I give you a  little bit of an insight into the Manila traffic we took a a grab taxi from the  airport to where we were staying to our  

Accommodation and the grab driver said  to us it’s an absolute nightmare here   for traffic one of the most densely populated  cities in the world if not the most densely   populated city w nice that’s an awesome  uh bike wow so loud as well and here guys  

We have all the Jeep KN which is one of  the most unique forms of Transport thank you there all so many different colors  going to all obviously different parts   of Manila and uh this is just kind of like the  true character of this City and we we love it  

We love it trying to speak over the horn  the horns of the cars it’s difficult yeah   the city is fascinating and like I said  guys we’re making our way to Ral park now okay guys Bal Park let’s have a look hello  thank you hello thank you oh no huh people want  

Think to say of course I wasn’t expecting it in  the park that’s okay ah no thank you thank you   they taking pictures that’s what it is it’s not  the tour they want to sell pictures yeah yeah yeah  

That’s all right wow this is um very beautiful  we’ve got some very tall palm trees here and it   is a nice place to come I guess for a leisurely  walk the temperature is in Manila surprisingly  

Enough for us anyways at the moment it’s not hot  at all it’s very pleasurable to just walk around   the city right now and it is literally the middle  of the day it’s right around like uh 12:30 or 100:  

P.m. right now and um it’s not that hot it’s  actually quite enjoyable like I said so Ral   Park everybody now I have no idea what is really  uh in here but we’re going to have a little bit  

Of a walk around this is our favorite way to  explore new cities is just coming in to the   center seeing the parks seeing the sites going  to the local areas and trying the food that’s  

What we’re all about guys so if you do like that  make sure to come along with us cuz there’s going   to be plenty more videos obviously I’m really  excited about the about the animals here sorry  

I was just patting a cat that’s why I walked  away and then here it seems like they have some   sort of uh pigeon accommodation pigeon hotel or  something going on they even have like some water   down there maybe some food as well lots of pig  it’s pigeon accommodation pigeon Hotel no how  

Much per night five star hotel uh it’s a I don’t  know three seats per day 300 pesos per nights no   per division the pigeons are paying in seeds  they’re not paying in PES where are they going  

To have the pesos from and anyway guys what I  wanted to say while we are talking hello here   while we are walking through the park um of course  manila manila is a very big city it’s the capital  

City of the Philippines of course but you guys  know that uh but for any foreigners that hasn’t   been here before it is a very very large city  there’s so many people living here and there’s   uh some rough parts and that there’s also some not  so rough Parts but just understand uh when we’re  

Talking about the Philippines obviously we were  very excited we’re very like positive and so on   but there’s uh both sides to the city as there  is with every city in the world basically and   yeah but we’re super super stoked to be here  and uh I don’t know I’m just so blown away by  

The country already I’m so happy that we are able  to experience this in 2024 no yeah guys this is a   it’s the first country that we’re visiting this  year so uh I think we made the right choice cuz  

Both of us like we said in the first video a  lot we’ve really fallen in love with Manilla   already and with the Philippines as well the whole  vibe is very nice and there’s a massive flag off  

Here in the distance so maybe we’ll go and check  that out as well and this space here is fabulous   hello hello hello can I have a ice cream yes which  flavor do you flavor mango good and cheese cheese  

Strawberry cheese flavor oh wow cheese flavor ice  cream which one is your favorite uh mango mango   mango oh okay uh one mango for me how about Mom oh  I also want mango please yeah yeah two mango thank you but does the cheese does the cheese  taste like a GAA or something or like  

It’s salty or is it sweet think you’re going  to find out I don’t know if I’m want to find out so much ice wow we out fire Park  yeah really nice park yes oh thank   you Sal where you from uh from Germany oh  good rich country Germany not anymore not

Anymore oo I’m excited to try this guys this  is like a little little mango Mountain here   the soft Hills of the mango thank you so much  how much how much is it 80 pesos PES okay take  

It take the 100 okay okay thank you thank  you you oh yeah oh my God this is the best   mango ice cream ever thank you it tastes  like um very little sugar it just tastes   like concentrated mango puree sort of it’s so  good tasty oh yeah this isaz want to check out  

The flag as well oh yeah let’s go to the flag  sorry I need to put away the money though yeah   thank you so much thank you so hey guys  give this a try M go Mountain let’s try

It look really good oh that’s delicious it’s not  like your um creamy ice cream like I don’t think   that there’s any milk or cream or anything in  there it’s just like a very thick type of sorbet   kind of yeah it literally tastes like mango  sorbet it’s very very nice really refreshing  

It’s not like crazily sweet or anything like that  either very good not bad here we go guys massive   flag the Philippines massive mango ice cream what  can go wrong are you’re using the mango ice cream  

As a pointer yeah yeah this this is the black it’s  a massive flag it is huge really big flag wow this   is going to make for some great um social media  photos that’s for sure yeah guys Ral Park it’s a  

Very nice park very nice ice cream and um the  people here in Manila are so welcoming like we   have not had one minute of discomfort so far in  Ral the statue of Ral yeah there seems to be a  

Soldier over here as well yeah he’s guarding  the statue of two yeah two or three soldiers wow oh there is some story of the  story yeah Jose Rizal National Monument 1913 wow so guys we made our way onto a Skywalk we  walked from Rizal Park which was just in  

This direction here and we’re currently over  a road right now as you can see the huh the   oh yeah you can really get a a decent view  here of the uh sort of the first row onto  

Dolomites Dolomite Beach or the the bayw Walk of  Manila very beautiful I love it I’m very excited   actually to see a beach cuz that’s something  that uh I never really thought about when we   were saying oh we’re going to go we’re going  to start our Philippine trip off in Manila I  

Never really was like oh we’re going to go to  the beach but here you but here you go here’s   the beach yeah if you think Manila you just think  big city you don’t really think Beach yeah that’s  

Very true but here we go guys this is a a very  nice view onto the beach itself and the beach   looks very clean actually so that’s always a  big plus and I’m sure this is a perfect place  

To come families couples whether you’re whatever  even just to go for nice walk or a run this is   a ideal spot very little people as well for how  many people live in Manila that’s very true I’m  

Sure it’s a nice place for Sunset oh yeah sunset  or Sunrise depending on where we’re looking at I   don’t know it could possibly be like um would it  be sunset or Sunrise I don’t know I’m not sure  

Hello yes hello beautiful view though not going  to lie and plenty of vendors and people selling   different things uh for you as well so you can  buy things like bone cases and ice cream hello I’m that’s very cool he looked like he was  levitating a CD here we go guys different  

Types of food ice cream you have these animals  that grow yeah oh that kid nearly got backhanded   there picked up something that he shouldn’t have  here we go guys loads of different vendors to   choose from and yeah let’s make our way now into  the beach so guys vanilla bay walk doite Beach  

Regulations no swimming no eating no smoking no  littering no spitting no bringing of pets and no   food is all lied and S at all times interesting  uh but yeah we’re going to check this out and   see what’s what’s uh inside I’m sure it’s very  beautiful they took my Coca-Cola bottle away I  

Still had a Coca-Cola bottle like sort of half  full from uh our lunch in the beautiful Market   that we had uh yeah but now my Coca-Cola bottle  is gone but that’s okay um yeah as you can see we  

Are at the beach now but Luke already talked you  through all of the things that you’re not allowed   to do so I assume that is why there’s not so many  people here if you were allowed to go swimming or  

Like barbecue at the beach or whatever people do  at the beaches you know I’m sure there would be   a lot more people here but it seems to be more  of a sort of hello sort of a picture taken kind  

Of a beach like the Instagram Place more or  less from what it looks like and some people   are also relaxing on their towels this is a very  beautiful it’s really not something that I like I   said not something that I would have equated  with Manila coming to the city of Manila but  

Um I’m very positively surprised I have to say it  is uh spotlessly clean um and obviously probably   because of those regulations but yeah perfect  place for some social media pictures or like   we’re doing come and film a nice video uh with  your family or friends or whatever and you kind  

Of get to see here spanning Coast as well now  you can’t really see too far that way but this   way here you can see it’s kind of stretches all  the way around and uh yeah this is a beautiful  

Place really nice yeah very clean as well I don’t  know if you already said that there’s like no no   trash around or very little let’s say it like  that I’m wondering if you were like if you were  

Allowed to swim in the water is it like rough or  what it’s actually like or if the water is even   clean as well because there seems to be quite a  lot of ships out here I’m sure there’s a bit of  

Oil I wouldn’t necessarily swim in a bay that is  directly at the like the main capital of a country   because usually the ports are you never know not  the cleanest yeah but it’s it’s that’s the same  

In every country though I would not swim in Port  and Hamburg and Germany where I’m from either so   it’s just what it is it’s very very true from  here the water itself it’s very beautiful nice  

Very calm water as well extremely calm water yeah  oh there’s a big uh Mountain there off here yeah   I’m not too sure now to be honest what that is  but I don’t know if you’re going to be able to  

See it guys but in the distance there is quite  a large mountain and it must be a part of Luton   maybe possibly towards the the north it could be  towards bagio or somewhere like that and um off  

Here in the distance again you just kind of have  the beautiful backdrop of Manila yeah this place   is spectacular yeah we don’t really understand I  was just talking to Naomi about this we have quite  

A lot of friends that have visited Manila in the  past and um Everybody sort of gives a very mixed   opinion on manila some people say they love it  some people say they absolutely hate everything   about this city and it’s clearly a very polarizing  place and I think depending on who you are  

Depending on your travel experience depending on  what you like I guess you’re either going to love   this place or you are going to not like it very  much and again it just depends on your experience  

I feel like um it sort of depends as well how much  uh experience you had in Asia for us we have been   in Asia now for maybe around 1 and a half years so  maybe it’s not as uncomfortable in certain areas  

I don’t know like to be honest I’m really we we as  Luke said we just had that conversation we’re both   really wondering uh what this type of like all of  these stereotypes are coming from yes obviously I  

Already said it in this video it’s not necessarily  uh the cleanest city but which capital city is   that um to be fair especially if you’re looking at  Asia if you’re looking at southeast Asia and so on  

Um cleaniness is always like depending on where  you are like every single quarter is a little bit   different one is more clean one is less clean and  uh yeah I don’t know again I don’t understand the  

Stereotypes uh so far I I think Manila is actually  quite nice for how large it is and for how many   people there are people are extremely nice and  friendly and open so it’s very I don’t have any  

Issues here we visited uh quite a few cities like  large cities in Asia and uh of all of those large   cities Manila is definitely it’s not a city that I  uh would say anything negative actually about some  

Parts of it it’s a little bit sort of uh Nitty  Gritty but that’s the same for quite literally   every capital city in the world if you go to New  York hello if you go to somewhere like New York  

Um I know that that’s not the capital of America  but if you go to New York City very very large   city you’re going to encounter a lot of dirty  streets a lot of crime things like that if you  

Go to Paris for example in France that’s a very  very dirty City it’s quite literally infested   with rats so people love going to Paris every  year but like yeah I feel like garbage always   comes with amand of people the more people there  are the more garbage there is like that’s just  

Normal isn’t it I just don’t understand though  because people always like everybody in Europe is   like oh we’re going to go to Paris and it’s like  yeah it’s a very dirty City but they won’t go to  

Somewhere like Manila it’s just the idea of it I  feel like a lot of people romanticize Paris and   they don’t uh they only think Paris Eiffel Tower  you know they don’t and they think like having   Cafe and eating cant or whatever I feel like it’s  um that sort of idolizing romanticizing view is  

Uh missing from Manila because I feel like a lot  of westerners just don’t travel or don’t take the   time to stop here and uh that’s why like a lot of  the European cities like just have this idealized  

Image which they are not like they are really  not that’s why like we are always saying uh if   you want to go to Europe uh don’t go to the big  cities don’t go to like as nice as the cities are  

Don’t go to ven don’t go to Paris don’t go to Rome  like try and see the villages it’s nicer than the   big cities usually that’s true but it’s not the  case I think for here I have nothing negative to  

Say mostly most of vanilla is uh fasinating you  get to experience the history and the people are   very warm very down to earth and uh the Filipinos  definitely have a great sense of humor as well  

The only negatives that I can think of in in  terms of uh a negative is really the traffic   the traffic is crazy um very loud there are  some places that are quite dirty there are   some places that I can see why they would put off  a stereotypical European traveler but if you’re  

Someone who likes to travel if you’re someone  who has experience with travel you’re going to   like Manila I’m not going to lie we like Manila  very much and this beach here is uh gorgeous really I saw something move in the  water that’s why I came up here I  

Saw something moving I don’t know oh yeah  I’m sure I’m sure there’s plenty of fish here he guys we’re trying to cross the road right  now um we just literally left the dolomites area   have a look at this guy here yellow and red cool  nice colors the kids are a lot more experienced  

Are crossing the road I think you just got to  stick up the hand and go for it yeah that’s it   it’s the magic hand magic hand yeah as in all  of the other Asian countries you have to make  

Yourself visible just make up pop up the magic  hand I’ve have no idea where we are right now   guys but we’re just basically wandering through  the streets of Manila and uh looking for a place  

As well to charge my phone because I’m the  only one that has a SIM card out of the two of us so we need to charge my phone and then  once the phone is charged we’ll be free  

To explore again I’m seeing the M yeah yeah  perfect we’re looking for a mall right now   it’s called Robinson’s Robinson’s place  or something like that we never typically   go to malls or anything like that hello  super super friendly people everywhere I  

Love it this is uh quickly becoming  another one of our favorite cities genuinely we’re going to go to Robinson’s place  charge my phone and then we’ll maybe bring you   guys around Manila uh once the Sun starts to  set expert level here we go Robinson’s place

Manila let’s go inside and see if we can find  ourselves somewhere to charge and somewhere to   buy a SIM card maybe somewhere to buy Naomi a SIM  card as card as well yeah yeah but it’s always  

The case that at the airport it’s like double  or triple the money so uh we just decided not   to buy both of the SIM cards we decided to buy  one just to order like like a grab and then get  

To our apartment basically and uh yeah so we only  had one and I’ve been without internet all day so   no social media stories or anything like that but  yeah we’re going to be buying another one now we  

Just have to find the entrance to this mall but I  believe it’s just sort of there in the front you   have a very loud motorcycle boy so yeah let’s just  have a look what we can find right guys we are on  

The inside now but it seems like we are in Munch  Central there’s even some best ever Food review   show running here with one of the Vietnamese  restaurant you can buy some BME and then you   have all of the big chains such as Yashin NOA  Crispy Cream uh there’s some Panda Express there’s  

A McDonald’s there’s a little bit of everything  from the look of it but a lot of the sort of big   American chains as well which I did not anticipate  at all but yeah if uh Sunny reviewed that bunme  

Kitchen place maybe we should also try one of  the bunm uh we haven’t been to Vietnam yet so   but there’s nothing wrong with a good bun me even  if it’s in the Philippines right yeah so we need  

To figure out now where the SIM card places this  seems to be um a lot bigger than it sort of looks   from the outside right it’s a lot bigger than it  looks like from the outside it’s massive there’s  

Like so much there’s a whole different world  going on in here like we were walking just from   dolomites and we saw the building and from  outside it looked just like an average mall   that had like couple shops here and there this  place is huge and it’s nicely uh air conditioned  

As well so like really nice very comfortable  and it’s not a typical place that we usually   look for uh when we go to a new city because  obviously everything in here is going to be a  

Little bit pricey but but main reason we’re here  is for the SIM card so hopefully we can find one   maybe there’s like a globe or something like that  in here forward forward into the land of the SIM

Cards so we got the SIM card sorted for Naomi  happy days now both of us have SIM cards now   guys the process to get that SIM card was pretty  strange so the situation was we went to the smart  

Store and when we went inside of the smart store  they said that they were sold out of SIM cards   but then they told us to go across from the  smart store to a booth that looks similar to  

These booths here behind me now once you go over  to this booth there’s a woman that has like stacks   of SIM cards and she sold us the SIM card for uh  I think it was 130 or 150 150 pesos yeah yeah so  

150 pesos you pay that it is a certain amount  of gigabytes you put that in then you have to   go back to the store to the smart Store where the  security guard sorted out the whole sort of like  

Registering us as a customer and then after all  that it is taking uh somewhere between now and   2 4 hours before the Sim activates but yeah  it’s a little bit of a weird process I think  

You can register yourself as well though I think  you can just go onto like the smart website uh   or whatever and register yourself there because  it looks like sort of that that that is what he  

Did but they just offered that service for free  and it was 150 pesos now I don’t know how many   gigabytes I have or how much money more I have to  put on just but just to give you an understanding  

Um 150 pesos is what’s two 30 or 250 something  like that and in the airport we had spent 1,600   space house for a SIM card now that SIM card was  activated immediately so we didn’t have to wait  

But uh yeah the one I have I don’t know it’s going  to take a little bit of a time that they said up   to 24 hours for Activation so might be might be 1  hour might be 24 we don’t really know um but it’s  

A lot cheaper but look at this guys it’s still  Christmas it’s still Christmas yeah it’s so flashy   though it’s very nice so much gold and white and  Blinky lights and very happy guys to be sorted  

With the SIM cards now at least we have access  to be able to freely roam around and yeah Happy Days okay guys so we made our way in a grab from  the mall back towards the area that we’re staying  

Which is in the University belt and uh this  area is very fascinating it’s hyper local part   of Manila and it’s where you’re going to find a  lot of fantastic food options loads of different   cantens and stuff like that as well hello and  uh this part of Manila is actually it’s really  

Cool it’s very very few tourists and westerners  that are around here and what we’re going to do   now guys is we’re going to go and grab something  to eat it’s coming up to roughly around 5:00 p.m.  

Right now so we’re feeling hungry and also in  the grab we drove past uh kapo Church which is   apparently a very famous church that’s close by  to here it’s only around a 20 minute walk from  

The University belt to get to Capo church so we  might go and check that out tomorrow uh morning   I don’t know if we’re going to film it or not but  it seems to be a fascinating place but yeah guys  

Let’s go and see what we can eat around here in  the University belt there were a lot of pilgrims   in that kapo church and the taxi driver said  that like uh I don’t know during the last week  

Or something like that like the first few weeks  of January that there’s lots of pilgrims arriving   there so maybe if you’re planning to go to Manila  uh maybe do it in the first week of January I   think that’s when the cool stuff happens yeah true  yeah guys this is our little local neighborhood  

Here in Manila and uh we love it and there’s  nothing really that we can find wrong here   this is um exactly the type of area that we love  when we travel look at this you have a big boat  

We’re going to see what we can find here guys just  pick pick a place at random and uh try something out currently looking at the menu sorry  I’m looking at them then you through the window found an interesting place here guys where  they seem to have a very wide variety of different  

Things for offer now we have no idea what we’re  looking at so I think we might have to Asko hello what is what is what uh is this pork pork uh I think I’ll  good pork pork pork chicken pork yeah uh I  

Don’t know can I have some of this one  with rice yeah and what is here H yeah   yeah yeah and what is this one here  pork pork as well cry cry Curry cry   cry like a pork curry okay I have one  of this yeah also with rice if you have

Yeah oh perfect it sound like a  little rice one rice uh two yeah yeah they have bottles of sprite as well in  the fridge over here you want a Sprite yeah   sure or something else sprite’s fine  yeah yeah so guys seems to be like a  

Pork of sorts with some vegetables nice  bit of sauce as well on this and I have   two servings of rice now I meant that  we have a serving of rice each so I   hope hope she understands no rice also uh  just one one for this one yeah yeah thank

You very excited to try this food now I got a  mini bottle of Sprite and a mini bottle of IC   tea oh wait now we have three rests yeah why do  we have three rest there was a miscommunication of course looks very it looks very good though

Oh you’re getting some soup as well oh  what kind I’m not sure I just take take my one so much food it’s a gigantic amount  of food yeah this is a yeah guys I am uh   starving we literally have been walking around  vanilla from morning all the way up until right  

Now and um it’s definitely dinner time so very  very happy to be here happy to finally have a   nice fresh dish of food and these look like  pretty big chunky uh pieces of pork and I’m  

Going to take a little bit of rice here and I’m  just going to go straight in and give it a try   what is this one shm more oh it goes with this  onece thank you here we go guys let’s give it a try mhm that is nice the sauce

Is very buttery it’s an interesting sauce  I’m not sure how to even describe that very buttery very smooth and the texture and  The Taste is kind of like a irony taste so it’s   almost like a liver oh you taste the liver  I think I just had a piece of liver yeah I  

Think it’s Pok H pork belly because you can see  some uh fetty pieces and then some organ Meats   as well this one here yeah this one looks like uh  straight up liver yeah so you have like different  

Uh very good different parts of pork yeah you  have like liver uh fat and then you also have   the main sort of parts of the pork as well that’s  very very good though and what what is it exactly  

That you got this is pork as well but it’s like  a curry version Curry yeah but there’s an entire   piece of pork in there including the bone oh  wow I just went to try and get through it and  

It’s a there’s the bone in there but I guess I’m  just going to do do this and uh try it like this first oh yeah that’s very nice it’s sort of  like um the greens are they taste a little  

Bit like spinachy type of spinachy nearly nutty  kind of a taste and let me try to get a little   bit of that pork off of the bone here it’s  falling right off yeah looks good oh it’s so  

Smooth yeah M it’s really soft it’s sort of a  little bit like a like a shredded pork nearly   oh nice and I think it goes very nicely like  the sauce goes very nicely with [Music] rice  

Oh yeah perfect she said to try the shrimp with  it oh super shrimpy shrimp paste it’s very very   salty very fishy taste wow but it’s very good  and he also gave us this type of a soup with

It it has like um it’s very sour it’s like  um I don’t know if it’s they’re like a sour   vegetable in there or maybe like um vinegary  type of thing but it is uh like just your  

Normal broth and then like a sour thing with it  but it’s very good very balanced dish difficult   to describe though yeah yeah that’s very true  guys please if you do recognize the look of   these let us know down below what exactly  these are called we are totally new to  

Everything here in the Philippines and we have  so much to learn but I am thoroughly enjoying   this here this is a very hearty meal plenty of  protein as well and uh you can never really go  

Wrong with organ meat as well it is fantastic  for us as humans oh I’m going to try this the pork just that’s amazing that is  really delicious it’s nearly like   a poutine kind of a texture super smooth  really buttery I barely even had to chew that they

Are this is great really really fantastic  a nice um cold Sprite as well to wash it down I think we’re really going to like the  Philippines if this is what the food is and   um yeah Manila like we keep saying guys I  think it’s very uh underrated I guess you  

Could say a lot of people told us before  that they did not enjoy this city and um   we don’t really see why to be honest we  definitely like this place a I just found   little banana Sprouts in my Curry oh wow you  see the little it’s like part of the banana  

Flower yeah it looks yeah that’s really  interesting actually yeah remember these   like tiny bananas that come out of the  flow at the bottom yeah that’s what this is tastes like it yeah wow very nice cool  right guys we’re going to enjoy our food
