  1. Yeah it might work there cause its culturally ingrained but as someone from new york dealing with these new parking and street rules and how rude and entitled they are…..FUCK cyclists. Absolutely fuck you if you bike in NYC.

  2. In America if you opened up lanes like this, you would have “youths” pulling wheelies, yelling, and weaving in and out of other bikes inside of five minutes.

  3. Neither cyclists nor pedestrians seem to abide to traffic rules in this video. Pedestrians crossing where and when they see fit, cyclists not giving hand signals and often have no lights. The reason no one gets hit is because people assume that hitting each other means pain for both parties involved and should be avoided at all cost, so they adapt. Unlike people in cars, who only have to worry about dents and scratches in the paint and maybe a hike in insurance premium and will generally cause a lot of harm when a pedestrian or cyclist is hit. This is why a motorist is always at least 50% liable in Dutch traffic law, when a pedestrian or cyclist is involved. (I own two cars and cycle to work btw)

  4. It never fails to amaze me how they move around one another. Imperfect, complex, but human! As it should be.

The whiter people are the more likely they are to complain about near misses or helmets. But I'm just fine with this – and I live in Canada 😀

  5. Wheres the road rage? The angry horns? The Aggressive swearing and hand gestures and the old people standing for ages waiting to cross the road? None… The Netherlands puts my country, the UK to shame in this regard… Looks relaxing and peaceful…

  6. What is the story with those gearless grandma style bikes? Here in central europe almost nobody buys gearless bikes! The most common bike being bought is a MTB.

  8. Truly, a nightmare of a cyclist. Tons of pedestrians on a bicycle riding at low speeds.
No true cyclist would want to ride in this swarm of commuters.
    Not a cyclist-friendly city definitely.
