Welcome back to the gcn racing news show coming up this week the 2024 World Tour team kits rated and slated you have been voting them hot or not I’ll be going through the big Winners and the big losers losers I will also wrap up the women’s tour Down Under the national
Cyle cross championships and the European track champs this week in the world of racing we learned that balom MMA is pretty handy at running ahead of his participation at the tour down under he completed an 11 km run at an average pace of 3 minutes 34 a kilometer pretty
Speedy we also learned that yonas vinegar and T paga won’t race against each other at all until the tour to France this year the big four have all revealed their 2024 race programs which I’ll get on to later on in this show and finally we learned which kits are hot
And which are not for 2024 uh you’ve been voting in your thousands over on Twitter and I’m now going to run through the best and worst team kits of the Year according to you don’t blame me right I’ll start with the bottom three on the
Men’s side with 38% hot a full 4% less than the next worst team it’s ARA B andb hotels it seems the edgy launch video didn’t sway your opinion on the kit which is pretty similar to the last few years block red with the logos in white and black shorts despite the lack of
Changes it’s quite a big slip from last year where they got 55% hot second from bottom then it’s team DSM feric postnl now this kit is a radical departure from 2023 but not a good one according to voters 66% voted this cold and only 34%
Hot 7% lower than last year now this kit was first seen late last year after which the team said it wasn’t the final design only to release exactly the same kit as the official one just a few weeks later so it’s now time to reveal the
Worst men’s kit of this year with just 21% hot it is UAE team Emirates a big slide down the table from last year where it received 47% hot I mean it’s not hugely different to last year’s design but I guess it is a little busier shall we say at least their national
Champs kits will look fire right time for the top three men’s kits in third a little surprisingly actually it’s inos grenadiers with 62% hot overall fairly similar to the last couple of Seasons but there’s a couple more bits of fade and a little bit more orange either way
You don’t seem to like it as it’s the first time that this team has made the top three with your voting in second just 2% ahead of inos it’s a team that hasn’t changed its kit at all versus 2023 little Trek perhaps it’s no surprise that nothing has changed since
The headline sponsor and change of Kit only took place ahead of the tour to France last year it’s a bold design that stands out I think we’ll all agree right drum roll please the winner of the best kit in the 2024 men’s pelaton goes to EF education easy post and it wasn’t even
Close 85% of you voted this kit heart putting it 21% ahead of everybody else the pink remains but new for 2024 are yellow abstract images which are said to be a tribute to life on the road and the team base in Jona Spain whatever they represent they’ve clearly done a good
Job at making the team look good for 2024 so well done to EF incidentally they moved up seven places from last year whilst last year’s winners group Arma fdj slipped to seventh despite having a very similar design on to the bottom three women’s then and it’s Uno X
Third from bottom the design remains fairly unchanged since last year bit of a Marik kit this one you either love it or hate it but 58% of you hate it in second it’s Roland without Israel Premier Tech as a lead sponsor now they’ve changed quite a lot in their
Design but only 36% of you liked it which means that the worst team on the women’s side is DSM which has the same design as the men’s kit okay time for the top three women’s kits and in third bit of a surprise here it’s SD works the
Team that’s top the table for the last couple of years still scoring a very respectable 76% hot it put them just ahead of live alula jao and human powerered health uh good that most of you like it though given that we’ll likely be seeing a lot of it at the
Front of races again this year in second place 10% ahead of SD works it’s fdj Suz the design remains similar but they’ve moved up a spot from last year and they’re 86% buts have had of all the men’s teams and so finally in top spot back where they belong in a lot of
People’s guys it is Canyon stram a whopping 92% of you voted their 2024 design Hearts making me wonder who in Earth the 8% were who voted it cold rival teams maybe or men over 60 either way it’s a resounding success for the designers now we reached out to the
Winning teams for some reaction to their wins and so here’s what Canyon stams Alice towers and ef’s new recruits Jack rutkin gray and Archie Ryan had to say about their wins out P has won the um gcn best looking kit Awards so yeah I agree um thanks to everyone that voted
And yeah the theme is the sand of the Pelon so it’s called the harmonic Bri kit so it’s inspired by all the different noises and sand super super cool to be wearing the best kit fish three two one go hey I’m hii and I’m Jack and we’re from EF education
Easy post and we’re super excited to accept the award of the best kit in the men’s P time for 2024 thanks everyone for voting for us and Raa for Designing the call two takes that’s not bad is it it’s normally around 10 for us presenters here at gcn a big slide down
The table from last year where it received 40 7% going for Allin one then with UAE adq sfia knew was going to get that wrong in France clemon venturini to my God in France clemon venturini in France clemon venturini took his six oh dear right let me know if you
Agree with the result any surprises in there let me know in the comment section down below and just before I move on though there is one brand new kit that we haven’t mentioned and that hasn’t been voted on yet you may have noticed on our social media that we are
Releasing a brand new GN kit with a brand new partner and that’s happening tomorrow make sure you watch the G show to see it for the first time and you can judge if it’s hot or not obviously I’m biased but I’m pretty sure you’re going
To like it I shall move on now to some actual World Tour racing where some of the affle mentioned kits were in action the Santos women’s tour down under kickstarted International competition for 20124 with three challenging stages around Adelaide the first of those was the only one to finish in a bunt Sprint
And it was the start of what would be a very good three days for AG Insurance sudal Ali Williston took the win there bettering live alula jao’s Georgia Baker with UAE adq sfia bered Zolo in third the first proper GC action came 24 hours later on a tough stage to Sterling a
Group of around 30 Riders contested for the win on the uphill run to the line and raising her hands in celebration was Cecilia utr ludvic the Daye had started the stage in support of her teammate Grace Brown but with the Australian not feeling 100% during the day the mantle
Of leadership changed and ludvig didn’t need a second invitation uh she spent a fair few weeks in Australia ahead of the race and the extra time to climatize clearly paid off she took a two-c lead over Bert Zola into the decisive final stage which finished up with lunger Hill
But while she looked good during that final day ludvig suffered on the climb to the Finish conceding over a minute to the winner and the ochre jersey with it the win that day in dominant fashion went to Sarah Gigante now riding for AG insurance sudal after a mid-contract
Move from M Star the Australian had told her team that she wanted to attack from the bottom of that final climb and that is exactly what she did initially taking few rides with her but then cranking the pace even higher to forge a hedge solo not even pre-race favorite Amanda Sprat
Was able to stick with the pace Asanti stormed to her first ever Women’s World Tour win her first two Women’s World Tour wins in fact and she’d also done more than enough to win the overall classification and it was a win made even more impressive by the fact that
She and her teammates had burnt a lot of matches earlier on in the stage she’d been on the back foot through the crosswind and so it was remarkable she was even in contention for the win here’s what she had to say at the Finish
I’m just so happy to get you know a win it’s it’s pretty tough when you’re only 23 and then everyone’s well not everyone but lots of people think you’re like washed up you know like sometimes I did too and it was just so hard to keep
Believing in myself but I did and AG sud did too and yeah now he won so I’m just going to shake it up well done Sarah Gan and after that interview she rode the 50 km back to Adelaide so she’s clearly very motivated indeed it was very
Popular win not just because Gigante is Australian but because he’s had to overcome a lot in the last couple of years with injuries and illness it was clear from her Junior days just how talented she is and that’s now showing at the very highest level this could be
The start of a very big year for Gigante behind her it was the woman with the best name in cycling ninka vinka who’s just 19 and with NE Bradbury in third it was actually the youngest World Tour Podium ever according to Pro cycling stats at 21 years and 192 days
Meanwhile there was no Caleb Yan at the Down Under Classic on Saturday night and that was probably a large contributing factor in the race not finishing in a bunch Sprint the recently crowned National Criterium Champion was a bit under the weather and so the team chose
To fully rest him hopefully he’ll be fit and ready for the tour down under but there is still doubt over his participation there in the race a strong break went clear around the halfway mark and despite never enjoying more than around 15 seconds of an advantage they
Were strong enough and clever enough to keep the bored Bunch up Bay in the Sprint of line it was the in grenadiers Jonathan n who was quickest with Nat Artis faton of Le Tre and Isaac Del Toro the toour of laer we now riding for UAE
Who came third I’ll just wrap up some of the Cy cross national championships now before moving on to other news in Belgium sakan took an incredible 15th consecutive victory in the elite women’s race it was a closer run Affair than most of her other wins with a mistake
Letting Lara Von shot back into the game but can’t still manage to finish the job off and that will probably be her final national championship ship appearance the next cycle cross season will be her last but she said she thought it would be unfair to win another national title
If she’s then going to be retiring a month or so later in the men’s it was a first Elite title for Elizabeth which is a bit of a surprise isn’t it h he’s won plenty in the age categories over the years but never before in the seniors he
Attacked with two laps remaining and solo to the win here in the UK cam Mason defended his title very close to home in Scotland whilst anak K took her first Elite title in the women’s and in Yus Newen house took his first Elite Dutch title six years after his last under 23
Win whil in the women’s Lucen de brand managed to get the better of Defending Champion pke Pizza Marie shriber defended her Luxembourg title a full three minutes in front of the woman who dominated that event for over a decade Christine murus while Felipe ort took a sixth title in Spain in France clemon
Venturini also took his sixth Elite title but it was close he got the better of Joshua dubo in the Sprint of the line whil in the women’s Helen closel retained her title finishing almost a minute clear of the next best on the day I’ll move on to the track now that was
The European track championships last weekend in apple dor after a win in the men’s team Pursuit Dan bigan went on to take his first individual international title in the individual Pursuit where he beat teammate Charlie tanfield in the final it was a very strong performance overall for team GB incidentally who
Topped the medal table by the end of the event they also won the women’s individual pursuit of josy Knight the women’s spring with Emma fakin the 500 meter individual time with Katy Marchant and the men’s omnium with Ethan hater lot of keki made history by winning two
Gold medals in the space of just half an hour she was a bit upset when she saw the schedule of events for the Championships but managed to persuade her team manager to race both the points race and the elimination and won both the Dutch were dominant as ever in the
Men’s Sprint events Harry Lon took gold in the men’s Sprint and Kieran whilst he Jeffrey Hogan and Roy Vandenberg won the team Sprint they had settled a second in the 1 km individual t though out of Dan Cole in silver medal position there that one was won by the Italian Mato biani in
Other news yet another team has named their tour to France Squad of the 2024 this time Bor hansgo no surprises that they’re all in for RIT and he’s got a solid team alongside him vlassov hindley and Martinez will be valuable Assets in the mountains while Van Poppel and den
Will be the men for the flatter days alen Kender should also be there so long as he comes out of the J okay whilst Mato saera completes the team with more and more teams revealing their star Riders calendar for this year we can now sort of see where the big four
Will be lining up against each other the big four being rogl puga vineo and AOL the first time any of them will go head-to-head will be this year at par n which both AOL and RL are due to attend all but paga will line up at the tour of
The bass country so that’s a must watch whilst we’ll hopefully see the AOL pagat Duel at Le age Bast on the age that we were hoping for last year all but paga will also race the doofan and then all four are du to race the tour to France
In July meaning that’s the first and possibly only time that pagat and vinor race against each other this year a real shame in my opinion I think we all want to see the best Riders against each other more often the kathon a2r have revealed that Ben oconnell ride the
Durali this year it’s a race that he last rode in 2020 where he won a stage which effectively got him his contract with his current team whether or not that means he misses the tour to France this year remains to be seen but that’s certainly the case for julan alif he
Will make his debut at the jro tal this year and miss out on the tour to France scar gr who didn’t get a new world tour contract this year is going to end his career at the tour of Randa where it all started for him back in 2010 no doubt
He’ll get a great reception there and just finally off the back of last week’s RAC new show talking about the kilometers and elevation gain of pro riders last year we had this comment from Paul round uh he wanted to give a shout out to Diane Newsome she’s over 60
Years old Works a full-time job teaching and yet covered 37,000 km over mountainous terrain last year climbing in excess of 300,000 m and it’s not just cycling she does she also runs and swims what an inspiration right that is all for this week’s raceing new show I’ll be
Back at the same time next week to wrap up the men’s to under see you then

Which was your favourite team kit? 🧐
Can we have GCN+ back please?
9:42 this will indeed be a Gigantec year 😉
Don't be too hard on yourself Dan. You'll always be the 47th best presenter I've ever seen (joking of course) 😉
Yesss Canyon SRAM way to go !❤🔥
Oi … lay off men > 60 🤬🤬🤬
Who voted on this..the Braille Institute? Arkea's terrible but INEOS is good? EF is the best? Really?
Who at GCN failed photoshop with that ridiculous picture of Roglic’s oversized head imposed on someone else’s too small body. That picture should be the next caption competition. Here is my entry. “Primos Rogliz’s success has clearly gone to his head”.
The one thing all of the various cycling gurus and public seem to agree on when it comes to kits is that EF has the best one this year.
Hey Dan I'm mid sixties and i luv the canyon sram kit !! a fan of the EF one too. I'd buy one if they they werent too expensive
I don't care for the ageist "men over 60" comment Dan. Not like you to be so loose with language.
LIDL most ugly
Massive round of applause to Dianne Newsome. Just did some quick calculations (slight rounding up). She cycled 37,134Km in 2023 in a time of 1792 hours. Obviously some weeks more than others but working a simple average that is 101.7Km per day EVERY DAY, and she took an average of 4.9 hours per day every day to complete them. The average speed needed would be 21 km/h (rounded up) but that is even more impressive when you remember she climbed 796M every single day as an average. That is some extraordinary accomplishment. I need to sit down and contemplate my efforts after working that out….
"man over 60" 😀
It will be interesting to see how the voting goes on your new kit, when Arkea is block red also 🤔
Boras kits SUCK.. 🤮
Should have extended your review of new kits to include Pro teams. TDT-Unibet is 🔥
UAE at the button is wrong it’s actually nice. And lidl on top is also wrong…
The DSM kit this year is the worst kit ever!
Worse than Castorama, Tonton Tapis, worse even than Atala. Discuss 🤨 ps my favourite is Ford France or maybe Gis)
Trek is so ugly. It very honest n
DSM is the 🔥 kit in this list. It should top1 not those ef garbage pink jerseys. Ewww The hell is with people's these days.
