Welcome to the year 2024 folks! We’re picking up right where we left off at the end of last year by resuming the European road-trip, this time in Sweden, where we’re attempting to beat the all-time record on a four year old burger challenge…

Brave culinary combatants get one hour in which to beat the record for the heaviest burger ever eaten here at Rost in Angelholm and top the leaderboard! If you can finish a burger which weighs more than the one the current record holder managed, you get the meal FREE, a spot at the top of the leaderboard, a particularly snazzy winner’s shirt and a 1000kr gift card!

One band to listen to to get in the mood for a bit of scoffing while you’re in Sweden Abba of course yeah now I’m only joking Yeah sorry Amber’s not really my jam bonus points if you can tell me what that song was that we’re in Gothenburg right now but um I’ve got about a two-hour Journey down to a place called angle home for today’s challenge hopefully I can actually Park here

Without getting a ticket like I did in Finland last year this will do I reckon look at that polyfic what do you think of the rental car it’s a Volvo which I know are known for performing very well in safety tests but it is a bit meaty for my liking

Usually I prefer my car small agile and by association cheap but this was the uh the smallest one I had apparently it’s all right he’ll do a jump on it yeah it’s not too far away VIP parking so this is one of those where you have to beat the record in

Sweet are you ready are we good to go go start with the smallest one first foreign well that’s a relief because there is a lot of it to get through what’s up everybody welcome back to another episode we’re in Sweden today in case you skip the slightly longer than usual

Preamble and we’re trying to crack the record for the biggest burger ever eaten here at Rost bar in angle home this thing has been around about four years apparently and the current record is around 2.7 kilos you only need to beat That by 100 grams to get the win uh the

Real free the T-shirt the gift card Etc but I thought I’d go for a nice round three kilos yeah although you get to pick three toppings so once they’re all included it’ll be a smidge over that probably thank you no purpose probably gonna need those Yeah I mean it should be kind of a given by now but I’ll say anyway this one does get a bit messy as you can see they are rather cheesy delicious though and you could choose up to three toppings like I said in addition to the cheese of course

So I went with I think Red Onion on one bacon on another and peanut butter so I had to get that on one of them that’s in addition to the regular burger fixings like pickles white onions mustard ketchup Etc and um I think we’re about done with Burger one here I’m eating

This like an anaconda or something that’s sluggling in one mouth look at the chef’s face oh that was delicious it’s amazing I can’t believe how quick it is 33 of the way down this one looks messy I don’t know I’d say they look approximately equal in most potential no Sorry I got carried away I’ll slow down a little bit it’s really delicious this is really nice Foreign I wish my mom would said that to me when I was younger maybe I wouldn’t have ended up doing this for a limit yeah not entirely sure I could blame my mum but she doesn’t watch the videos so no danger there two burgers down now just one to go

I’m just gonna put that there so nobody can see it because it looks a little bit disgusting I’m sorry yeah I suppose I could pixelate the glass or something we’ve got a fresh one now though this ain’t Dream works I don’t have the budget for that level of post-production

I think the uh the weight might be starting to hit me a bit now you know Two-thirds of the way there one Burger remaining This is the one with peanut butter on right the fact this that’s gonna be the most tasty part because that’s got the toppings on the top part so I’m gonna put that there eat a few of these patties underneath Yeah good call all of the goodies are on top so that’ll give me something to look forward to at the end it’s getting hard Not really I mean yeah yeah it’s getting hard Is rain chance I could get um like a Diet Coke or Coke Zero or something like that thank you very much I think going about 11 minutes 11 minutes it’s just over 11 minutes yeah that’s one dude as well why not yeah why not thank you very much Oh you can really taste the peanut butter The peanut butter does make it a little bit harder to swallow that probably wasn’t the best idea tastes good though Gotta get all the scraps yeah otherwise you will be disqualified don’t say that is that good it’s all right 100. all right let’s finish strong eye let’s apparently record the current record holder did the 2.7 kilo Burger in 15 minutes dead which ain’t half bad is

It you do get one hour though so there’s no real need to rush and this is a good one you know the bug is absolutely top end here I didn’t realize it at the time but after I finished eating the chef told me that he competed at the culinary Olympics

Which I thought sounded completely made up but apparently it’s a real thing which explains why the food was so good anyway I hope you enjoyed it and I’ll catch you the next one All right sorry record you’re gonna have to come back and try see if you can best three kilos because this baby food and that was rust’s burger challenge it was delicious too thank you ready for dessert it’s funny you should mention I was just about to say do you have a dessert menu
