What’s up guys Ryan fors Motorsports here today we are going to be talking about the voltaic Flying Fox uh this is definitely an interesting bike as soon as I saw it I had to get one to check it out see what’s going on with it um this
Is a full suspension bike so it does have rear airshock and then front forks as well with a Moto Style triple clamp this is really uh an awesome bike it is called the voltaic Flying Fox but it is by the Apollo Revy Factory which is
Really big in the UK so it is the same just with some rebranding some of the things that I really like about this bike it has a 500 watt Hub motor so you know this is a really solid reliable drivetrain all the bikes now are using it um obviously the
Full suspension is usable it’s awesome a lot of the other bikes out there on the market they have suspension on the front forks none of them are in the rear and usually the front fork Forks are kind of cheesy and they’re just there for show um the only other bike that has really
Good usable front suspension would be the stasic 20 launch editions or even the 18 that have the Mana 2 front suspension forks those are awesome so you know this is right up there on that level it does have a quick swap removable battery this is 36v 5 aamp
Hour battery so you’re going to go ahead and slide it in just like this it does have the quick release on the bottom just go ahead and pull it out like that once you lift this up you’ll see the little lock right there release and
That’s how you pull it out of the bottom so quick swap battery is huge we do have them available we’re waiting for our next shipment you guys love this bike even before we could talk about it here on YouTube they already sold out and all those batteries are gone so we’ll have
More really soon so this is an awesome 18-in bike now this is a little bit taller than some of the other ones so I’ll bring a stasic over in a minute and we’ll check it out um so you know usable suspension is awesome the quick swap
Batter is G great it does have have the shraer valve here so if you want to adjust the rear shock go ahead and add some more air right here or let it out so this is really adjustable really nice um even myself I I ride it just for the
Hell of it so that’s always our stress test is you know if I could ride it and it’ll hold me well then dang it it’ll hold any kid so that’s what we do there um some of the things that we don’t well not necessarily don’t like but that
Really could be used for improvement is the battery is 36 volts a 48volt battery would really help wake this up all the other 20-inch models out there that are Hub Drive the Orion and some of the others they’re all running a 48volt battery even if you don’t use that top
Speed that voltage on the bottom end to really help get it moving is really what we need now I will put this battery in the bike real quick and we will go ahead and show you the throttle next so we’ll just go ahead and slide this bad boy in right here
Oops there we go just like that battery’s in so you can see right here is a throttle along with the dead man kill switch so if you want to turn on the bike we’ll push and hold the power button here and now it’s on so we’ll go
Ahead and we’ll zoom in right here on this throttle so you guys can see what we’re going to talk about next if you look there is a battery indicator right here you can see green on the throttle right here that’s going to indicate your speed mode every other bike out there green is
Going to be full speed but on this mode green is actually going to be slow mode so you push the power button once and now you can see it’s in yellow and then you’re going to be in medium speed and if you push it again you’re going to be
In red and you’ll be full speed at about 18 19 mph topping out so that’s how you adjust the speed of the throttle and the bike now just like the Orion bikes we’ve reviewed in our other videos you can actually change this while you’re riding so we’ll simulate right here when we’re
Riding if you hit the power button you can actually change the speed mode while you’re riding so definitely be aware of that there is no lockout on this and the throttle we think it could use a little bit of help you know with obviously being red for full speed and
Green being slow that’s really backwards here everything is green full speed and red is slow so other than those little minor you know things that would like to see change with the battery and then the slight tweak in the throttle this is actually a really solid bike um a great
Offering by volic this is going to be um really awesome more for not necessarily the Moto Community because this is more of I would say like a downhill mountain bike or a trail bike um and again for the price at only around $12 $1,300 this is really going to be a
Great budget bike versus others that are you know they’re up to almost three something thousand so really an affordable offering to help get those kids out there on two wheels so now we’re going to move this bike up a little bit and we are going to bring the
Stasic 20 over to kind of give you more of an idea of the size of this bike because it’s really hard to tell when you think 18-inch bike you’re going to think that it’s going to be the same size as some of the others well it’s not
So you could see right here that the seat on the stasic is much lower uh let me get my little crewman out here hold on hey Brad come here and help me real quick so you can see just between the two of these how much bigger this is uh than
The stasic so we’ll go ahead and we’ll go get some shots over here just kind of comparing with our Rider sitting on both bike so then you can see the difference we do have all the specs for the seat height and everything on our website at HS motorsports.com Ripper on there when
He’s on the sta6 20 versus the Flying Fox 18 and we’ve had some rippers just shredding this bike because this is not necessarily A motoike but we’ve been kind of putting it through the paces at some bmx tracks out here at the track when we go camping for Thanksgiving
We’re going through the hills and the mountains with this bike really putting it through the test since that’s really what it’s made for and this has really been a a solid bike so check out some of the action shots we got of this bike if there’s any questions you have let us
Know in the comments below go ahead and follow us on Facebook and Instagram and if there’s any other bikes you want us to check out check out go ahead and let us know you can email us call us text us even that’s our cell phone number right
