[Applause] hello and welcome to our complete walkthrough of the tail fin rack range in this video we will talk through the options available to you how you choose how it fits to your bike and the bags and accessories that work with the rack a tail fin rack differs from a

Traditional Bolton Rack in three distinct ways firstly the way in which it fits to your bike secondly the way that the luggage and the rack interact together and thirdly the Aesthetics the way it looks traditional Bolton racks require your bike to have dedicated eyelets in order to fit unfortunately a

Lot of modern bikes don’t come with those eyelets a tail fin rack however doesn’t require dedicated amounts so it’ll fit everything from a Sleek carbon road bikes all the way through to full suspension mountain bikes a tail fin rack also features a quick release design which means that it can be fitted

And removed from your bike without tools in seconds another advantage of the tail fin rack system is that it’s been designed in conjunction with a whole range of dedicated luggage creating an entire rack luggage ecosystem finally a tail fin rack system has a very distinct aesthetic especially when

Comparing it to what you’d normally expect from a traditional bolt-on rack comprising of a unique rear Arch and a detachable top state it provides a much more sympathetic outline when used with modern bikes especially Sleek Aero road bikes telephone ranks are available in four main options these are based on the

Material choice of the rear Arch and the top stay you can choose between either carbon fiber like this or you can have aluminum like these ones here the key difference between them the carbon fiber is obviously our lightest version the aluminum is a little bit more durable it is heavier but it also

Features triple bosses on the side so you can actually fit things like cargo cages or water bottle cages as additional storage once you move past the material that the arch is made from you can then choose between either pannier matte versions or non-panny amount versions and by this we mean the

Ability to actually run side pannier bags the pannier mount version has additional attachment points which allows you to run one of our side pannier bag whereas the non-panium out version is obviously the lightest choice but is only compatible with top bag systems once you’ve chosen the material of your

Arch and whether or not you want to go for either of panty amount or a non-panium out version the final choice is in the top stay now your top state will come in the material that you’ve chosen your arch so either in carbon fiber or aluminum but then you can

Choose between either a regular length or a longer length version of the top stay we’d recommend the long top Stay option for riders that have either a smaller frame size so from a 54 centimeter and lower or a low saddle height as it will allow you to have better access to any

Top bag you put on it so how do you choose which telephone rack system you go for well the first Quest you want to ask yourself is how much do you actually want to carry if you want to carry quite a lot of equipment or kit with you on a

Trip then we would definitely recommend going for the penny amount version if you want the lightest setup then obviously the non-payment version will give you the lighter setup and carbon fiber is definitely the way to go for that but if you want the most versatile setup and something that will give you

Years of durability then we’d recommend going for the aluminum version a tail fin rack can fit to your bike in one of three different ways either axle mounted which is the way that we’d recommend through frame Mount adapters or directly bolted to your frame the last two options can only be done if

Your frame has eyelets to mount a rack so bear that in mind the front seat post connector then fits around your seat post or your seat tube and the rear part of the arch attaches either to the axle or as we said earlier directly to the frame itself depending on the options

You’ve chosen for your telephone rack system when you receive your package you will get an arch like this you’ll also get a top stay and the lower attachment points of your choice either the telfin axle and fast release dropouts the frame Mount adapters and fast release dropouts or direct mounting

Which comes as standard with every Arch in addition to the dedicated range of luggage which works with our rack system we also produce a series of different accessories the first one to point out is our third-party pannier adapters these are designed to attach to your rack where the pannier mounts are and if

You have an existing set of panniers from a brand other than telfin it will allow you to run those with a tail fin rack if you’ve chosen one of our aluminum racks then you’ll have the triple bosses on the sides these as I said earlier can fit either cargo cages

Or water bottle cages and we produce our own tail fin cargo cages which match perfectly these come in either a small or a large size and will give you extra carrying capacity I hope this video has helped you to understand the tail fin rack system if you have any further questions please

  1. Sort of a silly question but, does the top rail of the rack accommodate third party rack top bags? My most common use case for the rack/bag is only carrying a second set of gloves, vest, jacket, things you would want to swap out for rides where there's a significant change in temps. I love the look of your bags, but every time I see one, it's always loaded up. What does the bag look like when it's only partially loaded? Another suggestion perhaps, would be offering a smaller rack top bag for the circumstances I described. Love your products, not afraid to spend the money, but also considering the Ortlieb Quick Rack + Ortlieb Trunk bag for my particular use case.
