#997 #PORSCHE #911TURBO
[Music] it’s almost hard to believe that I bought this manual 911 Turbo almost 2 years ago it was blown up it was three different colors and as for me I was just getting started on YouTube the build
Was an absolute roller coaster and nothing went smoothly but the progression of not only the car but the videos themselves is pretty wild to watch and I truly hope you guys enjoy the journey as
Much as I have so excuse the construction going on in the background but we are finally here to take a look at the 911 Turbo and I quickly learned the lesson that there is a difference between
A Porsche rough and a car that I typically deal with rough because this thing is actually pretty nice sure it’s multiple colors sure it has some paint damage but overall at least from 10 ft away the car still looks phenomenal one other thing that I didn’t want to mention until so I
Got here and made sure that this was the case was the fact that this car is actually pretty heavily modified with that said I didn’t want to talk this car up to be some 750 horsepower monster
Before laying eyes on it myself but it kind of appears that that’s the case the only thing that I can’t verify here is the turbos it’s supposed to have aftermarket turbos as well but as soon
As we get back to the shot we’ll put it in there and make sure that’s true we’re going to give it a shot and see if we can start the thing real quick just to hear it run there’s no coolant
In it only oil so we’re only going to let it run for a couple seconds here but like anybody else I want to a car run before we drive it home or in this case winch it onto the trailer and take it Home all right as you saw it was smoking its ass off uh out of one side particularly I was buying this car under the assumption that it has a blown head gasket cracked head something like that otherwise
The car is honestly kind of what you expect it’s a little rough again you know little things like that it has all kind of air lights I don’t know if I captured that when I started it but we will
Dive into that a little bit more when we get home but needless to say I haven’t been this excited about a car in a long time even when I bought my ZR1 I’m sure you guys feel the same way but
When you’re dealing with this for so long when you’re buying all kinds of cars and get to drive a lot of cool stuff there’s very few things that actually move the needle for you this is one of
Them again as advertised it has different color blacks I don’t know if you can see it maybe when it’s a little sunnier out but that’s a different color than this the fenders are a different color than that the hood apparently came off a very low mile GT3 and then was dented promptly by
His his body shop maybe it’s cuz I’m not your typical Porsche guy but if I had to give this car a grade exterior wise even with the different colors even with the damage I’m giving it a solid
7 and 1 12 I’m sure the Porsche guys in the comments are going to tell me this car is an absolute piece of trash and it needs to be fully resprayed which it does but I’m still happy with
It maybe I’m being naive but when we get back I’ll tell you what I actually paid for the car and then you can let me know if I absolutely got screwed if I’m out of my mind or I actually got
A pretty decent deal in today’s market there is not a lot else we can do here uh we need to get the thing home and get looking at it uh so we have to get it on the trailer I am going
To go ahead and winch it because I don’t really want to risk driving it up there and it taking you know a minute and a half to get it out there get it up there straight and end up overheating It all right it’s official we’re Porsche owners it just so happens I’m starting off with the best Porsche ever made I know you guys are going to come for me on that special up purus but it is what it is I said what I
Said we’re going to go to the bank get this guy paid and uh we will be headed home all right guys we are paid loaded up gassed up fed ready to head back to Maryland if you can’t
Tell I’m jacked I love it it’s rough whatever I don’t care on the way over to the bank the seller gave me some of the backstory on when he bought the car and it’s actually kind of crazy he also
Gave us a bunch of paperwork the uh for sale lab when he bought it an old dealer listing he found the bill of sale from when the previous owner bought it so we have a lot of stuff to
Go through here we’re going to uh I guess check it out as we get to driving so we had a chance to go through the paperwork and we learned a lot about the car the person who wrecked it bought at
The end of 2017 for roughly 75 grand had 52,000 Mi on it at that time it has 57 on it now I did to get a copy of an old for sale out of the car presumably when the guy who wrecked it bought it
It was represented in the title at least as having 700 horsepower from then there’s no records on the car until it was posted on Craigslist at the very end of 2018 the car got listed on Craigslist
Wrecked for 30 grand as you can see over here the guy said he slid it under a g rail somewhere under 30 mph he said the wreck was high enough that it didn’t touch the frame rails just that front tub
Which we knew it damaged the radiators it damaged the fenders headlight hook all that good stuff the add list all the mobs as well has a pretty decent mods list and fortunately some of the ones that
Should never make their way on to a 911 turbo have already been removed bra seats and harnesses gone thank God it has a nice set of stock black leather seats in it which I’m ecstatic about it also has a
Stock radio in it now which is obviously outdated at this point but I’ll take it maybe I’ll change it down the road maybe I won’t who knows as for the mechanical mobs it appears that everything is
There as represented in the ad obviously when we get back to to the shop we have a little digging around to a lot of digging around to do let me correct that right there but the main question
Mark is obviously the turbos as for the quality of some of the mods I’m not super impressed it kind of reminds me of some of the mid to lower tier stuff when I was in the GTR Community but I’m
Not going to complain about free mods some of the stuff like the ipd plum and Y pipe the GT3 thr AO body really seem to be Staples on any mid-range horsepower 911 Turbo like this so moving on from
The mods when I got there I noticed the car did only have one key and I got a sign on the dash that said number two apparently when this guy listed the car for 30 grand and the condition
That it was in it had such ridiculous demand that my guy just happened to get there first and while he was there multiple other people showed up that’s all fine and dandy but apparently when
He and the person whom I bought it from went down to the bank one of the others came back mad grabbed the key out of the car and chucked it into a nearby Field we also have a slew of
Receipts in here from the person who I bought the car from a lot of its miscellaneous small parts from Porsche to repair the damage he did buy a lot of the stuff used as far as fenders
Hood that typee of stuff I don’t quite know why I didn’t catch this in the receipts till after I left but it also got the sunroof panel replaced unfortunately also in Basalt black which is not
The right color for the car there’s also a receipt in here from alloy wheel repair where we had one wheel welded I don’t know which one I also didn’t notice this till after I left and he had the full set refinish which the wheels actually look phenomenal obviously one of them had some
Damage repaired I can’t tell from the outside they all hold air good enough for me honestly there’s not much else we can interpret from looking at the paperwork we really have to get home and start digging into the car and stop me if you’ve heard this before but I’m freaking jacked to do It [Music] Good morning guys first off you’re going to have to excuse my voice after tx2k the R8 road trip and picking this car up it turns out South Carolina pollen is the one that finally did me in
But nonetheless we are almost back to the shop and while Alex and Austin know about this car nobody else does there has been one person in the shop who has been asking me leave when are
You buying a Porsche for I don’t know at least a year now everything I buy be cool if it was a Porsche hey what’s up hey come out front I need help unloading something all right cool hold on
That’s not the response I was expecting you’ve been asking me when I buy a Porsche for a year now is that is that for the business or that personal car oh I’m keeping it oh my God give
Me the key he’s not even impressed he thought we’re going to part it out is it run it sort of what does that mean sort of runs so he’s broke uh do we class we classify this as broke right
It’s it’s definitely broke the 57,000 youit the door hey what the [ __ ] is wrong with you I just heard that oh my God check Eric this isn’t a scrap car we don’t bash the doors to the trailer can’t
Have anything nice around here nothing so what do you guys think about the paint right now it’s so to be honest you’re like it’s fixable you can make it look way nicer so okay it looks good in
The shade right when I first saw this car it was in the shade I’m like it’s not too bad I’m going to go ahead and back it in the sun yeah I went from this thing doesn’t look as bad as the guy
Said to oh it’s three different colors real fast all right let’s see if they change their tune okay we got the paint guy out here now now it’s about to get shredded apart on it there’s pollen
But you know that’s not necessarily the issue you what’s funny is when you pulled around I thought that was a carbon fiber Fender cuz the the way it was different I was like oh he’s got like a
Carbon fiber Fender but it’s just all right you guys you guys ready for the color coding here true Porsche black yeah metallic Basalt black and that’s brown Coco exactly exactly would you say the I I didn’t notice that until I pulled into a gas station when it was Blazing Sun out
Yesterday it’s true it’s brown so this these are all Factory Porsche colors the guy got replacement panels off of a bunch of different cars you feel like you found the one Porsche owner that’s not
Particular so he wasn’t a Porsche guy he was a Corvette guy oh my God that make a lot of sense I’d actually love to have a Coco one of these especially in the sun it looks great doesn’t
It yeah it does yeah so this car definitely has stories but I’m still happy with it he’s perfect so Fernando’s constantly getting only me constantly getting only me for not washing my cars this one I think is the first car that I actually like so much that once it’s painted I’m
Actually going to have to take good care of it because everything else is just fast but Dirty Fast and dirty that’s the way I like it uhhuh yes exactly fast and dirty that should have been the name of the channel not scrap that’s a missed opportunity fast and dirty shirts coming soon
Yeah I don’t know why we’re not lifting it with the forklift like I don’t understand you know there I think I think when you cross across that $20,000 line of running cars that’s about where
I stopped that what you talking about we’ve lift at the r r and the Turbo Lambo with forklift uh so scrap cars fine scrap cars are fine like but I won’t lift the ZR1 I did lift the Z6 so that’s
Where you know Z6 forklift okay ZR1 little too nice I don’t know this thing kind of looks like it might be total I’m just so apparently it no longer has brakes why good question they have an e bra yeah yeah you’re F the brake panel’s now going to the floor wow so that’s
New wait you drove this thing no I didn’t but I I hit the brakes you know oh okay so add it to the list oh God I mean I’d let it get a tad bit of speed coming down unless it was
Close yeah I’ll say it actually might be close with the rear end hold on hold on keep coming you’re not you’re not close to right now all right yeah you’ll be fine a little [Music] bit
It’s going to be tight um you’re not on it right now but keep going yeah you’ll be okay we’re just going to have to do the same exact thing all right it’s it’s okay it’s just right There good than [Music] oo doesn’t look too to bad right looks good just wait I just lightly touched this thing and it popped off so we don’t have this ricey turbos badge on there anymore is it rice if it’s
European what’s the word for that Fernando rer I don’t know I feel like there should be another term let me know in the comments there’s got to be something for you know a European rer so maybe
I’m just not hip to it cuz I’m not a Euro Car Guy but there’s something I’m sure well I I I guess I am a Euro Car Guy now AR I yeah really really dog he forgot to put him right there this the Porsche
Turbos what are you talking about the POR tur no it’s not oh is it not the turbos anymore no I what I don’t know what you’re talking about man yeah don’t act that’s not making it in the video
No it just flopped right off did it yeah I just like all right well I’ll take these off I well I think the orange sticker still kind of applies in case you guys aren’t aware we use orange stickers
To denote damage Parts here at Ley Parts um yeah yeah so I guess it does kind of fit like dumb dumb turbo joke aside it is broken so I got an ABS failure light a M failure light brake fluid low
Light um but there’s only one code say the same code just yeah p53 vehicle speed sensor which I don’t think really applies to what’s going on in the car right now but I guess good to know
We’ll have to fix it in the future just telling you this thing slow so I have a question for the comment section I want to know if the people that are really Porsche Enthusiast actually think that these motors sound good or if it’s just like an accepted fact that they’re the worst sounding
Motor ever built and the performance outweighs the awful sound really sound that good now I’ve heard a couple I’m not going to Li I’ve heard a couple that are straight pipes no cats where you just hear turbo sounds and that sounds phenomenal the turbo sounds are just covering up the awful
Sounding motor I’m not going to go that far I mean you see it come after the guy with the ponytail if you come by the shop don’t assault me come get him he has a ponytail I obviously can’t
Fight we’re going to go ahead and pull it in I’m actually going to drive it instead of pushing it because I want to say I drove my new Porsche um we’re going to get it in not go crazy with
It but I just want to look under it show you guys under it and I guess see how bad it is see if it’s leaking see if there’s any very obvious damage so I guess let’s see if this thing actually [Music]
Drives it’s fine the more I mess around with this thing the more I think it could be the oil pressure Cinder because it’s kind of just it’s fluctuating but not in a way that I would imagine oil pressure actually is it seems more electronic
Yeah I mean if it falls off the lift it falls off the lift whatever now remember all the way to the front yeah h this is just like the dami there’s this is super Arrow right here I mean you know these
Nice scrape marks are only increasing I mean the fact it’s broken that’s a good thing right it’s literally broken everywhere right I know this front tub wasn’t replaced it was just fixed so that looks pretty bad whatever they have going on here I don’t like it um if you kind of see up
In there it’s some kind of weird bracket [ __ ] whatever you want to call it it looks like this this green stuff here is probably markings from an insurance company so whoever put it back together yeah but the actual sheet metal itself doesn’t really look too bad it’s obviously dented in
There um but again as long as the frame rails are fine I don’t really care so all the radiators in the front are new the condenser new all the lines um pretty much everything was new from Porsche other than the body panels that obviously are eight different colors all right well
I don’t know why we’re Messing so much on the front we we all know the backs what we need to see I guess I shouldn’t be super surprised but there’s not much I can tell from under here um
There’s not a whole lot going on there’s no obvious leaks except right here I’m pretty positive this turbo was blown if you look at that that’s the connection from the manifold to the turbo there’s a ton of oil there it was actually leaving some on the ground under it as
I’m sure you guys noticed this was the side the smoke was coming out so very minimum this turbo is going to have to be rebuilt we’ll obviously go ahead and rebuild both of them or uh maybe
Change them I I don’t know what we’re going to do with that yet there’s still a lot of planning to be done with this big turbos on it these are Big turbos Chief bigger turbos c a little
All right so while we were doing our work for the day I went ahead went I had a chance and kind of got a little bit of a head start took a couple things off the top of the engine uh intakes um
Intercooler P just to make it a little easier to drop this engine out now the workday is over and me and yours truly Fernando right behind the camera are actually going to drain this
Oil and see how bad it really is as some of you guys know the previous owner said it was a head gasket I didn’t think it was a head gasket I’m not quite that naive to believe I’m just going
To get this car a head gasket and be good to go I talked to a couple world renown Porsche Builders this afternoon aim and protomotive they’re both saying something more along the lines of a piston cylinder that type of thing but for now you ready to drain the oil no yeah
I’m kind of not either but I guess we just got to rip it off like a Band-Aid and do it before we get into that I want to show you a couple things I found on this which aren’t real good
One that turbo manifold bolt as you can see that is very very loose as you can see up there between the turbo manifold and in the cylinder head it is nice and wet and juicy obviously that’s
Not great being that it is wet up there I’m inclined to believe that we’re not going to get lucky and it’s not going to be just like a blown turbo I came into this thinking maybe it
Has a blown turbo but it definitely doesn’t just have a blown turbo yeah I’m going with dime size chunks I’m going with the Subaru paint code Java Black Pearl it’s going to just be black with gold
Flakes all in it’s going to look phenomenal like You’ paint your car with it you don’t want to see it come out of your engine that’s what I’m going with it’ll probably look like your front bumper so I mean that’s close just espresso yes Coco from yeah from bumper cocoa Pearl usually when
My stuff’s screwed up it’s like you don’t need to be checking the oil it’s done so this is new for me oh my no yeah that’s that’s no bueno that’s way too thin too yeah yeah so when I said drain the oil I meant we’re checking the coolant that
That’s what I meant here oh my God yeah that is not supposed to be that color you sure oh my God I mean at least at least initially though mdle yet yeah I was going to say it doesn’t look very it doesn’t look overly metallic round one let’s check this
Filter I mean it’s got It’s got some it’s a guess we can’t pull it out yet there’s not really yeah it’s not really bad it looks awful but uh we’ll get it out out and really put um a light through it it doesn’t look metallic so small win I
Mean I don’t know can you call that a win like is this a win are there any chunks up there that you can see through the too big to fit through the hole no man all
Right she should be good just to seal her back up and let her rip then something tells me that’s not the case so one thing that both protomotive and aim said earlier intermix is rare on these cars
It’s not as common as you would think by reading online um they both said are you sure it has inter miix and I said no I haven’t seen it with my own eyes I’m just going off what the previous owner
Told me um well problem solved like it it has intermix what is that TR so no this uh this is the dry s tank did you notice how not much came out of that yes that’s because just like the Z6
This has a tank that holds all the oil here this is just the case you notice this this is the crank case there’s no oil pan below it so dry stmp is great um but it just means you got to drain two places Oh I thought I was going to be able to
Actually kind of hold that back a little bit like the last one nah that looks really disgusting it all looks disgusting man but again that there’s no middle we we’ll stick a magnet down in here to be sure but
I’m not picking up any metal out of this I’m really not this funnel sinking just like my dreams of having a nice Porsche for cheap this is depressing to look at though isn’t it just like come on finish up already so the question is where is this water coming from at this point
There was obviously some left in the block you can’t drain it all uh when this car was crashed in the front it didn’t have radiators didn’t have any of the coolant lines on it that was all replaced obviously whatever is left found its way into my oil since this car has been
Poked back together it hasn’t ran for more than 30 seconds this cooling system is never saw pressure it must be some kind of really major flaw because it’s not like it can be a blown head gasket and when it pressurizes it’s forcing its way into an oil passage next up Turbo oil drain
Tanks nope never fails ready to go fishing nope number one rule of working on cars something Falls it’s going into the draam pan my phone has fallen into the oil pan before looks more the same just as bad right are these things like internally gated too
God what little wow I thought this thing had big turbos on it what Big Turbo has internal Gates unbelievable they look like they came Factory on like a carbo Beetle or something like that ready for more uh milk before we dump this out I am going to go
Fishing in it a little bit and see if we can get any metal all right so it’s not much but we have something let’s go put it out on a paper towel and I’ll show you I don’t know how well that’s going to show up on camera but you can
See right there right there this was a brand new fresh oil pan so anything in there it’s from this car overall not too bad I mean let’s let’s be honest Fernando we knew something was going to come out right yeah so could be worse this stud just broke so there’s that it’s like
A 15-year-old turbocharger just is what it is the VB bands earlier I was hit with an impact some of those broke so I’m like you know what on this one I won’t use an impact and it still broke
[Music] so all right so there’s our Fab speed joint one important note it’s not full of oil as for the other one I don’t think it’s going to look like this but we’re not going to find out
Till tomorrow morning I’ve had about enough today I got to get home fernand’s got to get home so we will be in here bright and early tomorrow to drop this thing out and to I guess tackle the bad side
So go ahead put it in the comments let me know what we’re going to find tomorrow morning when we pull this Tero off when we drop this manifold and while you’re at it also put in the comments
What you think the worst leak down number is going to be are we going with like a full like 95% leak down or is it going to be like I don’t know a 60 a 40 what do you think Fernando 99% Jesus
Christ okay either way I’m excited to find out at this point and I’m excited to get this engine out of here I’ll see you guys bright and early in the morning good morning guys we are back ready
To get cracking on the 911 Turbo and get this engine out of here these are absolutely just hand Tight it’s disgusting we’ll start there if you look at the left hand side it is nice dry clean exactly what an exhaust Port is supposed to look like as you would expect same deal with the headers themselves passenger side nasty wet due to not being sealed properly this is
Where the oil was actually leaking out of the car you could see it leaving a couple drops on the parking lot outside so what can we gather from that one there is not one cylinder standing out if it was two dry cylinders one disgusting cylinder well there’s our culprit
It seems like it’s that entire right-and Bank of the engine so infer what you will from that and as expected the the manifold to Turbo housing bolt threads are just completely jacked up so that’s going to explain why they were hand tight that one just really nasty this one actually looks
Halfway decent and that one is not even circular but anyway there’s nothing else we’re going to learn from underneath it’s time to quit playing around get the work and get this engine out of Here [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh As I’m just triple cheing everything before we drop this engine out of here I found a couple more coolant drain points I guess this is just a byproduct of the inter mixing um that is the first place I have seen it on this engine I don’t know what to interpret from this
But it is on the opposite side from the presumed bad side of the engine you guys just watched me pop off the interner core hose on the passenger side of the car I figured they don’t need to see me pop off both I’ll just film that one I’ll hit
The other one off and we’ll move on to the next thing well that was a mistake because I surprisingly got covered in oil this is what just came out of this oh my God all right so a little less than a quart in my estimation came out a couple thoughts here one
Not good two it wasn’t mixed with coolant so the theory here for me I suppose is maybe it’s a blown turbo unrelated to the rest of the ISS isues this car has I guess at this point I mean
Whatever what’s it matter uh what’s one more blown up thing on this car to have to replace obviously at this point these intercoolers are going to need to be gone through and cleaned heavily but anyway we’re almost there I have to thank the engineers who actually built this car because this is an
Absolute dream to work on we’ve all worked on cars where you go to pull an engine and it sucks it’s like the engineers gave no thought whatsoever to actually removing the engine servicing it anything this thing it’s very clearly designed to just drop out in the bottom I’m going to get back to
It hopefully that is the last thing we disconnect today that gives us a surprise oil [Music] shower [Music] [Music] all right we’re we’re coming out of the tripod here I’m I’m excited to see this you’re going
To get the first person view so something pops breaks snaps you can see me cussing real time up close all right 1 second go ahead and shake the car make sure it’s not like super off balance or
Anything no that feels good if you take all this weight out of the back I was a little worried that we’re going to be one of those uh I guess viral videos because this thing goes right off the front but let’s hope it doesn’t it feels pretty solid so all right send her
[Music] out [Music] real quick let me apologize if this lighting sucks uh after about 4 or 5:00 the Sun starts blazing in these windows and kind of screws everything up but this was a super easy removal one other
Thing I noticed that I cannot wait to get rid of is this big dumb stupid slave cylinder you hear everybody talking about doing the GT2 conversion and I can’t wait to do that it just seems like I don’t know kind of a dumb design over engineered why bother just give
Me me a traditional slave cylinder don’t make me mess with all that power steering BS don’t know all right so we have a little oil coming out of this intake tube as for the turbo itself
There is barely any shaft play it spins very freely um so I don’t know what the deal is with that so by all metrix this seems like a good turbo but obviously uh that’s telling us otherwise oh yeah it’s still really weird to me what happened on this side being that I
Didn’t expect it to be bad um I’m going to have to go out on a Lim and say there’s some kind of seal in this that’s just absolutely gone destroyed there we go there’s some more lovely liquid coming out probably somebody’s going to buy for parts or oh that one’s juicy mhm got
It and once again the compressor Wheels in nice shape no damage spins freely no shaft play so I don’t know what the deal is with the turbos I think these are going to be somebody
Else’s problem I’ll sell them as cores somebody else wants to do a vgt set up but for me I’m simplifying I’m going to go non vgt uh probably with a uh teal gt30 something like that I don’t
Know that I’m necessarily ready to see this I hope you guys are it’s pretty soaked it’s pretty nasty but the actual plug tip looks fine for what I’m going to write down the the actually never mind don’t worry about it pretty much the same deal in the middle
One and the same for the front so we’re moving on to the driver side here which is the presumed good side of the motor and I don’t know what’s leak Le up here but maybe one of you guys can tell me if this is a common leak area I guess it’s
Some kind of cam sensor right there but it’s uh it’s been leaking for a while it’s pretty gnarly it’s a little moist but kind of what a spark plug should look like again a nice normal spark plug once again nothing alarming there all right nothing real
Alarming with the plugs um I half expected to see one just Absol absolutely toasted smashed hip broke off something um no such luck so now we move on to the last diagnostic test of this video
The leak down and I have a feeling it’s going to also be the worst diagnostic test of this video I take the pressure down all right so we’re not going to do this for everyone but just in
Case you guys haven’t seen a leak down before air gets forced into the cylinder roughly 100 lb you measure how much comes out if it’s anything under 10 it’s great if it’s you know 15 still if it’s
Anything higher you need work all right pull it Fernando my arm’s getting tired so just to clarify the reason you see me being a little odd about this and doing it in weird angles aim was very very specific do not let the engine turn backwards some engines it doesn’t matter on apparently these
It really matters on it will jump time if you let it spin backwards so I’m not going to take any chances I’m going to do anything and everything I can do to stop this from spinning backwards
I told you wait what did you tell me I told you what happened if this L down pretty good all right so this just happened like 30 seconds ago um I haven’t quite processed it yet I don’t
Know what’s going on with this thing obviously there could be and likely is some major issue with this thing but uh this makes it a lot more confusing one other thing that is very very rare but given that it theoretically could be this oil cooler as for what’s next um I’m going to
Take the Knight and digest this I going to send all of my findings to Joe at aim um I told him I would get back with him with everything found with this car all the issues the leak down uh that
Way we could kind of form a better plan of how to move forward all right so we’re back in the shop before we wrapped this up there was one remaining task we had to do on this engine and that is pull
The oil filter cap if you can’t tell by the fact that we have paper towels under there uh it was really really screwed up the tool wouldn’t work a glove under there wouldn’t work no oil filter
Wrench would work torching it wouldn’t work uh it looks like paper towels there finally did the trip wait no I think it’s just no I thought I thought it had cracked it it it did it did it did crack it the first time
So paper yeah it sounded like it cracked it I watched it though it definitely did yeah what’s that say on the top of that right there 25 yes 25 Newton M guys don’t lock tight it hit it with an impact this is ridiculous this should not be an issue we try pretty much
Everything we went through all these yesterday we’re in here torching it chiseling it trying to find all kinds of different tools Jeremy walks up grabs this thing out of here it just spins it right off so good job Jeremy true I mean there there’s there’s no visible
Metal in in this engine anywhere if it was going to be somewhere it’d be in Here good morning guys we are here this morning in New Jersey which believe it or not we have willingly entered now you might be asking yourself why we’ve done such a thing well that is because we have a couple engines to drop off today one of which will be powering my
New Porsche Porsche Porsche 9911 turbo this morning we’re headed over to the absolute Legends at aim performance so they can let us know what’s going on with the 911 turbo engine and more importantly let us know what it’s going to take to get her back in tiptop [Music] shape [Music] [Music] I
[Music] so we are obviously in the right place here the first thing I see is one of the most recognizable 997 turbos of all time this is formerly Geo from real streets car at this point everybody knows this car everyone’s seen it on TRC this thing is downright filthy and
I’m going to see if I can convince them to start this thing for me in a little bit one other note I haven’t seen a lot of good Wings on these cars I’ve been struggling don’t like the GT2 don’t
Like stock this one does it for me I’m going to have to find out what that one is all right Joe any performance how are you nice to meet you you too going to give us the grand tour here
I suppose yeah just walk around real quick so how long you guys been here uh here we’ve been for about 2 years okay we were down the road for about six before it’s got the assembly room right there all fabrication stuff here all turbo kits exha inter that’s a that’s a fantastic
Color combo there yeah is this the meteor gray or am I getting that wrong uh I think that’s what it is yep red interior that’s phenomenal I want to deal with the uh the R8 up there it’s a Alpha 12 car okay cool 9x turbo sequential conversion doing our wipipe
And titanium exhaust on it uh some other little goodies are there a lot of people still doing the uh 996s like that lately yeah for some reason we’re getting a bunch of them again so I’ve always liked them I figured nobody else really likes Everybody Talks so bad about him I
Guess it just goes like in waves you know we’ll go for a couple months where we don’t see him and then yeah we do well in cooled pipes uh there plastic elbows under the manifold
So we switch those to uh shark work make a nice stainless steel one um just as like a preventive maintenance thing once we get it apart we’ll decide you know what direction you want to go
With it and uh you know figure it out from there all right as I mentioned last video we also have to do a turbo kit fortunately they have plenty of options for us here if you want to go the
Route of ditching the vtgs we have a uh long tube schedule 10 you know stainless manifold that we build here um moves the turbos back about 3 and 1/2 in so you have more clearance for uh intake piping and stuff like that with a larger frame and bigger housing turbos we
Have another manifold that’s just a kind of a flat style 3 into one collector still has external wastegates on it I think for what you’re doing it’ll be perfect so one other thing I noticed while we’re here is a car that was owned by somebody that we know through the
Lambo R8 great Vibe I’ve always liked this car and I love the bodyw work that’s on it this is the NR Auto GT2 kit seeing this car in person and seeing the fit it looks so good I love the
Flares that’s something I also want to do on this car apparently it’s a little bit easier with the GT2 bumper that’s something else that’s in the car it’s a 991 steering wheel absolute must do that’s on the agenda sooner than later honestly if I didn’t see this car in person
We would be sticking with the turbo body work but this thing uh might have just changed my [Music] mind oh check that shifter ridiculously good looking all right guys aim was absolute Madness unfortunately that is a good thing and a bad thing
Because now I thought I had a solid plan for the Bodywork on that car among other things and that just completely screwed it all up however for now we’re just waiting for them to have a chance to
Tear into that engine then we’ll head back up to New Jersey and see what failed on it as for the rest of today we’re not headed back to Maryland just yet right now we’re headed further north in
New Jersey to stop by Auto Couture motoring to pick up another key piece for the Porsche build apparently everybody has a 911 turbo hidden away so I was going to wait till we get back to the shop cuz we have some
Other stuff to open up but uh I want to see these things hey hey that’s Story of My Life getting sidetracked by dogs y y anyway slick what’s the dog’s name Buddha all right I think they’re Buddha approved they’re definitely Buddha
Approved first up numeric racing shifter cables there were quite a few people who suggested I do these couple that with the fact that we actually broke a small plastic piece on the stock shifter C cables and this was a no-brainer now I did consider getting
The numeric racing shifter as well I’ve heard wonderful things it looks phenomenal however as you guys might be aware we have to put a ton of money into that car so right now I’m going to hold off on spending $1,000 on a shifter maybe we’ll do that at some point in the
Future next up a set of 99 7.1 LED tail lights now these are from fvd but as you can see they’re just Depot continuing on and this is something I’ve seen people sharply divide it on the
GT3 style nose vent kit this Kit’s by Ren line and from what I’ve seen it looks like it’s the way to go if you want to do one of these vents I want to take a quick second to
Shout out ECS I know a couple of the guys there are watching the series that’s where we actually ordered this vent kit from it came in like 2 days fantastic FC service fantastic shipping A+ this one we are headed out into the parking lot for now if you’re anything like me you might
Have walked past a 997 with that exact lit before and not known any different and ever since I saw Gio’s car with a factory Arrow kit I’ve not been able to get it out of my head the
Minute we left Aim infatuated with Gio’s car I hopped on my phone and started looking for OEM Arrow parts while I was able to find a front lip it was about $1,200 unfortunately I have a bad history with expensive front bumpers expensive front lips so I tried to find the best possible
Replica I could it actually looks good now we’ll see how it fits on there we’re going to go ahead and put that on when we do the nose Grill and then we’ll have a better idea of if we got our
Money’s worth we paid about $300 from this thing and it came straight from England as you can see it is very similar to the OEM front lip however it is ever so slightly more aggressive in the spring
Brings us to the final part which unfortunately isn’t such a happy story at this time I was really struggling with deciding on a spoiler for this thing again until I saw Gio’s car I’m not the biggest fan of GT2 spoilers I straight up don’t like the OEM spoilers so when I saw his
Car I knew that was the one for me while we had the option to Pony up for the OEM front lip and chose not to because I kind of treat front lips like a wear item apparently the OEM AR wings are
Simply not out there and if you are lucky enough to find one you’re paying 8 10 G Plus so while if I could have found one I would have considered doing that because I considered that a lifetime
Part for the car however again we couldn’t so I went with the next best thing and that is a replica straight out of London this part’s made by design 911 honestly it looks like a pretty nice part especially when you consider the price this thing shipped to America was under $1,000
I have seen a couple other Goa forums install these they’ve actually turned out pretty well some of them have shown up damage others have came right out of the box went right onto the car unfortunately ours did sustain a little damage in shipping I’m going to give design
911 credit because they did go out of their way to try to protect this unfortunately sometimes there is no stopping the shipping companies and DHL put this one through the ringer being in the Salvage industry I am all too familiar with the fact that freight companies simply don’t care
Grand scheme of things that’s not that bad that sits on the forward Edge the other part of the spoiler butts up to it if there was another part of the spoiler that’s right unfortunately the Box
Showed up missing the other half of the wing so whether that was an oversight when it was packed or DHL damaged the box repacked it whatever and it simply never got puted back in I’m sure
They’ll take care of it this will end up being nothing more than a minor inconvenience I am not hopeful in this whatsoever being that it already says that it’s a DHL repack so this does not look
Good in typical DHL fashion half of the spoiler is hanging out of the box so again not off to a great start so there is a little damage on the bottom of the wing however that looks more like a production flaw or something like that which totally understandable with a part of this
Quality DHL you screwed up again however you screwed up less than last time so I guess I’m rolling with it the point that was hanging out the box is not that bad that’s all we’re left with honestly in the grand scheme of things I’m just going to take it whatever guys it
Is finally the day we have all been waiting for I just got the call from Aim and we are headed up there first thing in the morning to hopefully find out what’s wrong with my engine they’ve been swamped getting cars ready for race motive which is the first big roll race
Event of the Season here in the Northeast spoiler alert our R8 car didn’t do so hot however that’s in the past and it’s time to move back on to my hea junk Porsche now I do want to take a quick second to thank you guys for sticking it out with me there’s obviously
Been a lot more time in between these earlier videos than I would like fortunately those days are about over we have so many parts that have came in that if one area of the build’s dragging there’s certainly something else we need to be working on interior paint suspension whatever
It may be also I am still looking for somebody to paint this car I’d prefer them to be on the East Coast but I’ll travel for the right fit my only requirements are that they either have
A YouTube channel of their own or they’re okay with me coming in there filming for this channel I’m dedic dedicated to keeping this entire build transparent and documented for you guys all to see even if it’s not necessarily on our channel so if you have a great paint gu make sure you put
The information down in the comments so we can get this thing looking right I’m also happy to announce I have settled on a color and it is going to be in a later episode and we’re going
To head up to New Jersey tonight we’re going to stay there so we can get to aim bright and early in the morning actually you know what gas prices are insane we’re going to take the
Tesla all right guys we are back at a last time we got the grand tour today we’re getting right to business they actually already got the engine undressed and they already tested the oil coers unfortunately because it would have been a very obvious and easy to fix issue it wasn’t the
Case they’re going to fully disassemble the engine today and hope we can find something very obvious wrong with it the worst case scenario here is we do all this and can’t find the obvious issue because then we’re kind of screwed then the options are fairly limited
What do we do put it back together and just hope we fix the issue that that doesn’t really work the good news is if anybody’s capable of finding the issue it’s those guys for just a split second I
Kind of got thrown off because this car kind of reminds you of something right guys it even has a tow hook in the front so that tells you it may actually be in similar shape to the one we have
Back at the shop for this guy’s sake I hope that car is in a little better condition than mine here we have Brian he’s the man taking this apart he’s the expert nice to meet you pleas so
You are you were the master when it comes to these things apparently got a couple under my belt now yeah a couple yeah yeah yeah I got a couple it looks like you have a couple today yeah yeah
I’ve been an assembly line just pumping them out so awesome you got you guys do it right here and I’m excited to see what we find that was one of those part I’m sure he was willing to pay
Whatever it took to get it and I was not so you know how that turned out so far so good so to quickly explain what you just saw the airline going to the uh coolant passage there on the
Engine that would tell us if there was a crack head a um head gasket something like that they both held pressure so it doesn’t look like our issue is there so we’re going to have to dig a
Little further into it while we’re waiting to see if any pressure leaked out of there Brian gave me the rundown on some of the safety mods the pin cam coolant pipes being welded or pinned as he
Said welding it is the ideal solution this is what it looks like when you get that done when they were dismantling my motor one of the coolant pipes did indeed pull out this is the one that
Pulled out right there so if we didn’t have an issue before that was uh I guess not too far away from giving us a big issue continuing with the theme of coolant issues on the 997 Turbo you
Guys all have probably heard of the shark Works fittings that everybody does on these cars that’s those guys right here they are stainless I presume uh double o-ring fittings that replac these guys now this sits on top of the engine and uh Brian just told me that they are incredibly hard to get
Off you cannot do it with the engine in the car you have to drop it down so anytime you have an engine out you’re obviously going to want to do these and well we are doing them this will
Completely spin on you and then you’ll lose the passages and you lose a oil control to the that makes sense so how how do how exactly do you pin uh pin this you just put the a pin right through
There and then you it this is the C this one is a pinned one yeah I think I’m sure you guys can see that in there literally just looks like a kind of a pin that you just hammer it in and that’s all it
Is yeah most of the time it’s weird it’s always Bank two the one that spin the most interesting is there any reason for that or is it just how it is it’s just their design it’s just one of
Those things that Porsche said oh just press it in there and it’s good to go but it’s it’s not it’s it spins in there and if you go to Porsche to fix the issue they literally just put another
Brand new cam in it it’s not fixed which is not fixed okay so that’s why actually you know doing it this way is forever I mean honestly if you do the cooling pipes and pin the cam you keep one of
These things you know at a manageable horsepower be like you’re freaking toota parola it sounds like that’s the plan that’s the for me I want to run well I wanted to make like 800 900 is
And still run for a while yeah yeah and not and not look like this so obviously have to going through all this it would make no sense whatsoever to put the engine back in the car through without doing every single possible maintenance reliability mods we’re going to knock all
That stuff out because again we’d be really really dumb not to and you might be watching these early videos thinking you know you are kind of dumb because I bought this car but I’m dumb not that dumb okay there she is [Music] disgusting um how a lot of people are like
I all right this is our first uh I guess moment of truth if you want to call it that this the first real failure Point everything’s look good dust far but just pulled the cylinder head off here
Well let me clarify we didn’t do it he did I’m just standing here holding the camera I mean the cylinder walls look really good yeah they’ll do their little scoring on the top and bottom it’s just like a the boxer uh horizontally opposed got to keep digging slipping the gasket off
Over studs one of my least favorite things to do always gives me trouble oh yeah and then all my fingers are all cut from these gaskets are like razor blades the way to assemble these things is really funky obviously you know you leave these two cylinders in and Center one
Out you got to slide together you got to line up the rods and then this gasket always like yeah yeah and then you leave this liner out and you go to assemble it and it’s just all these
It’s it’s a lot of steps and pain in ass not just like grab a rod and piss and slide it in you it’s funny cuz most of the failures that we get because we’re pushing these motors so far yeah so they let go they they let go let go they let go let
Go couldn’t find anything on the first uh side of the engine that we dismantle but um I don’t know 2 minutes into the other side I’ve already found a little bit of disgustingness this is the timing chain tensioner you said yep timing chain tensioner from B
Two I mean I don’t know that that’s going to necessarily lead us to what’s wrong but it sure is is disgusting they tend to hold moisture there cuz it’s kind of like a bottom spot like a little
Bit of not moisture a little bit of Filth like soap and stuff like that not that yeah that’s gross I’ll take a little bit of Filth but this is that’s yeah a little much I’m not even going
To put that in my my tray we we brought him an engine that’s so bad he doesn’t even want to put it in the the organization tray that that’s what we’re bringing to the table here when they disassemble these engines they have a very clear and very accurate process here
Um this is all the bank one stuff laid out perfectly I imagine this makes it very very easy to put back together really hard to pick that up on camera yeah but you may or may not
Have seen that but we have a very very very slightly spun cam obviously not the cause of our issues here but worth noting nonetheless so we didn’t find the failure but we found a very near failure so this is the upper bank 2 timing chain tensioner this upper piece is supposed to
Be wedged against the bottom it’s supposed to you know not look like that you can practically see through it it is severely lifted I’m not sure if the camera is going to pick it up but but also it is bowed out it’s flared that’s supposed to be completely flat so not good
Uh looks like we narrowly avoided one there but uh we’re going to keep digging and see what we [Music] find all right the visible walls again look good so is there a certain side of the head gasket that typically blows block side or head side
Uh usually they’ll push themselves out over here okay on high boost stuff gotta yeah overheating stuff that could be anywhere and everywhere that’s it so he did just point out if you look at these three Pistons here soot soot much cleaner so if
You look at these Cylinder Heads This is the first side we took off they’re all relatively the same that one’s a little clean there but I think we were also wiping on that this one over here is untouched and again that Center cylinder is just super super clean there’s also residue here which
Kind of looks like that nasty stuff we found in the uh the coolant system last episode try to put like some sealer maybe something somebody could have put stop leak in it that’s what it looks like
Cuz it’s turning into that jelly that’s what it’s supposed to do it’s supposed to like jelly up and seal it I guess best working Theory at this point is there’s a sealing issue start looking at this
Center Center Bank C cylinder I don’t know what just came out of my mouth but it was not what I intended I presume when you’re doing these engines you deck the heads anyway correct deck especially
This one I mean if it’s one that came out for like a service or something like that but for this thing yeah yeah I presume because this oil was was so thin that would have explained
The lack of oil pressure correct yes you have a lot of variables there I mean you’re un result with this thing is going to be you’re going to want to make reliable th horsepower so at
That point is you know you know you go through the motor especially as soon as you pull the rod bearings are going to be the most beat up like every yeah you know engine ever and if the
Rod bearings you know look good we know that we’re you know in a good nice healthy engine that just needs a little refresh that’s all it is but I think I’m catching something here here just so I can see a little bit of light sneaking through here on this one so is
There a normal amount of light they should be getting through is it absolute zero so teally you know once you start seeing a little bit of light you’re you’re supposed to put a feeler gauge in there and see where we’re at and that’s when you could really tell
But it’s kind of like a uh just something so I can figure out where to start looking yeah absolutely so what it’s looking like it’s boat in the middle well I mean that would make sense I
Suppose by the middle cylinder and by Bow you mean it is a low Point correct yes it baned itself yes that’s what it’s looking like so theoretically if I were to hold down on this side you might get a
Bigger Gap over there yeah if you try to like hold it you should be able to yep cuz before I couldn’t shove anything in there all right guys I don’t think the camera’s going to pick it up but these
Two head studs here are significantly lighter than the rest of them these all have normal oil residue on them this looks like something else now this is backed up by the fact that this is what it looks
Like when you scrape a normal head stud just like that right there and these two Marks here that are really really wet and kind of nasty looking are from these two head studs so he thinks that head
Is slightly bowed either that or there’s a head gasket failure here something like that now what can happen in these which is not typical of some other cars is if you get coolant in contact with
These head studs it can actually make its way into the crank case so that would explain the inner mix it’s right on this cylinder that is significantly cleaner than the rest that would explain the smoke
Um I suppose there’s not a lot left here to figure out other than do we have to splp the case or not right that’s it so what this comes down to now and it is going to be a big swing in money do we have
To split the case he’s going to pull cylinders out of it and check a rod bearing if the rod bearing is bad from having this water in there from having very thin oil and being ramm for whatever period
Of time then we’re going to have to split the case there’s no getting around it because we’re not putting this thing back together with questionable bearings and then toasting a new however many thousand engine if the raw bearing is good then we may be able to get away without splitting the case
Just do Rob bearings do a build from the case up so we’re going to see what the deal is with that for once here I am very very much crossing my fingers that we have good bearings I’ve been
Wanting to find an obvious failure here all day I don’t want it to be that all right guys in case you don’t know this is my first time seeing this and that is such a weird SL cool design yeah it’s
Like a motorcycle exactly so what people don’t realize these things is I guess it’s like a air cooled case yeah and then they started adding I I see that cuz this is where the individual seal stuff would bolt in correct yep that’s why you see it’s got four studs per cylinder versus
You know you you would technically share a stud here on a regular engine yeah absolutely so okay that that makes a lot of sense I mean there’s obviously slight differences to the case cuz it is more modern they change it but technically it’s you know it’s that’s what it is yeah like
If you see that one you know it’s yeah it’s it’s designed that way yeah exactly I don’t think I’ve showed you guys this yet this is a 991 turbo engine which looks completely different this
Just looks like a big Subaru and that thing over there looks like its own whole mess I do have to take a second and say this these Pistons there’s a reason everybody says you can leave them stock and still make sometimes 1,000 horsepower they are beefy they look nice uh there’s pretty much
No scenario in this build which we’re going to do a set of pistons and now I see why I see they they look like good aftermarket Pistons which is hilarious looks nice and solid Moves In and Out
Super easy so we know we got no weird uh weird SPS weird wrist finishes yeah that or something change shape like the high boost stuff you’ll see where something along either the uh the wrist pin uh change shape or the bottom the the Piston change shape this is definitely excitement this
Is e either way at least we’re going to have an answer here this is I don’t know what a $10,000 Rod we’re about to pull maybe more now I don’t know how common this is on other Porsches but
It’s pretty cool they are uh they’re studs right studs okay I’m starting see why these things hold up well I know the rods Bend and everything but yeah I mean the main thing with these things is
Uh like like Joe told you is people like six gear wide open going you know the thing is these motors make a ton of torque they’re literally you’re making 900 horsepower you’re making 900lb of torque yeah wow so you know it’s not can’t wait can’t wait they they hit really really nice
So what was that just smacking the cap off of it yeah pushing the cap back keep everything in order so when I go to check everything inspect everything say which cylinder is on I don’t even want to look oh that looks really good that looks great I was getting nervous there
For a second and that’s the load side usually that’s the side that okay that gets the most abuse so far so good yeah no complaints here she look better than that other engine’s over there if he doesn’t have complaints I definitely don’t have complaints yeah the crank itself in there from
What I can see looks pretty good I don’t I don’t know what to say again you’re you’re the expert so I’m sitting here at a loss for words like I don’t want to be like yeah guys we’re good and
Then it not be good so so far it looks like you don’t need to split the case okay we we we will go save you a lot of money yes absolutely this is my I just saved possibly more than $10,000 face
All right guys we are five piston and Rod out five piston and Rod good no bearing issues in fact he said they’re some of the cleanest he’s seen on one of these engines however as good
As this looks it’s not time to stop holding our breath yet we have one more team Moment of Truth here A+ A+ I mean I wouldn’t expect anything about this car to be A+ but I mean you’re the
Expert so if you’re telling me it’s A+ I’m going with A+ because everything else on this car has been I don’t know D minus not going to say f but D minus it’s been bad maybe I gave it a
Little bit higher than I should have but no it’s good it’s good okay it’s really good okay perfect that means uh I’m pretty sure unless they find something later unless I get a bad phone call a
Couple days from now this thing’s going to stay together this is as good of a day that you can possibly have when you have something your engine that looks like that that looks very bad it turns
Out this is not so bad after all all the stuff that was you know running around in that looks actually pretty good and uh you did say one piston had a little skirt wear and there was
One slightly bent Rod I believe number three okay yeah you can very easily pick that up on camera so is that anything to heavily worry about is that are we going to have to replace that piston I’ll
Check it over okay make sure we don’t have a out of shape pissing and stuff like that but and then this was the same same Rod right yeah I don’t know that I don’t know if you’ll pick that
Up very very slightly so you might be able to see it there this is just a little bit that way and I think I think you might be able to pick it up a little bit but you’re going to have to take
My word for it if you can’t all right guys obviously this could not have went better um I walked in here expecting to have to split this case I actually didn’t know it was a possibility that we would get away without splitting the case I figured the bearings were going to be
Shot at least have some kind of wear and I I kind of thought that was inevitable turns out it’s not the case so I’m going to get finished up in here I’m going to go discuss turbo options
Among other things with Joe and then I’ll finish up with you guys here in just a second we just sat down with Joe and Ryan we came with a fantastic plan for this car I am super super excited now
I am going to save those details for another episode however just no good things are in the works [Music] score and that’s in 1,000 horsepower mode fifth gear pool what are you doing what are you
Doing um uh we got a lot of work to do this thing today I’m just um I’m getting ready uh I I don’t really have a good excuse for what’s going on here I’m not really coming up with anything but
Uh we have some work to do so we should probably get started let’s [Music] go guys welcome back to episode four of what has turned into a complete top to bottom restoration of my 911 Turbo in case
You missed the last episode the engine’s at aim performance getting built and it’s time to get the chassis ready for the new power plant my plan was to start by cleaning out the fast speed intercores
Because well but as is the norm with this car when I pull the bumper I got an unexpected surprise instead of cleaning and reinstalling our aftermarket intercoolers it looks like we need to buy a set to replace these stock ones nonetheless we have to get it knocked out so let’s get to it
I can’t say I’m too surprised I can’t say I’m shocked I can’t say I’m even upset at this point while I didn’t make it in the video last time there was some debate up at aim whether those turbos were even modified someone somewhere definitely fudged that Mod’s list a little
Bit as you can see on the leth hand intercooler here they’re mounted via these little washers and retaining Clips this one has it on all four posts exactly as it should this one is missing it on two of them these clips were nowhere to be found in the the Shroud didn’t really seal
Very well to this it kind of just fell off now a theory on this would be that somebody got a hold of this car took the mods off resold it whatever I honestly don’t know what happened here if you
Guys have any theories put it down in the comments there is a bit of good news with this and that is simply that we get to buy some shiny new parts good for me good for you bad for my wallet I’m
Going to give our boys in Sweden a call we’re going to get some new intercoolers overnighted but for now I’m going to take a little break when I said take a little break I mean literally we’re
We’re taking a break the brakes are getting powder coated I I see how there could have been confusion there but what do you think Fernando wheel St conversion in the cards too yes and that way you
Can put the S these these I mean we’ll see about that but uh these wheel bolts are just just whack I don’t like it I can’t believe you finally lifted on the forklift he made such a big deal about how
This car was not being forklift and it’s on a forklift so that that is a point that I should probably address yeah I didn’t want to lift this with a forklift but at that time I thought the car
Was kind of nice now I’ve accepted the fact that the car is just an utter piece of junk I guess that’s not so bad it’s a nice six piston front four pist in [Music] rear [Music] just
Disassembled these brakes it took much longer than expected I am definitely glad we did it because if you look on here this is the original brake pad they’re getting pretty old they’re pretty nasty what do you think Fernando they’re about to die partly it’s that the car sat partly it’s because
It’s you know all at this point 15 years old in the bags we have all our parts that we do need to keep the Pistons the hardware while the calers are out getting coed we’ll go ahead and
Make sure all that stuff’s kosher inspect every piston very thoroughly and if we need to replace one we’ll go ahead and do so one other note you can see these have padwar indicators on them I’m
Not a fan of that I can check my own brake pads it’s not that complicated if you’re planning to track this car like I am it’s just another hassle so we’re going to go ahead and make bypasses for
The brake wear indicators that way we don’t have to worry about that stuff any longer all right you got the calipers out here I guess now I kind of think they look good in red let’s put
It back together change the pad just put it back now one other note I’m sure a lot of you guys noticed earlier I was working on a forklift being that we have a ton to do to this car I’m
Kind of forced to work on it whenever I have the chance and today just so happened to be during the work day and while this place sounds nice and quiet now trust me it is anything but fans go
And tools compressors everything so in case you were wondering why I was working on the car on a forklift now while I was working on that DHL did indeed get here today with all our goodies from overseas super fast shipping so ready finally well finally it was barely more than 24 hours
Boxes and it was like what the is if you guys didn’t get it when I said we had Parts on the way from Sweden well now you do do88 sent us pretty much everything they have this stuff is going
To make the sting of XR having stock intercoolers and stock everything else just a little easier to tolerate oo tell me why Fernando that this piece that you’re never really going to see it’s carbon fiber not only is carbon fiber cuz yeah I agree but it’s still a
Cool material to make it out of but this is a better finish than like 90% of the hoods I see out there tell me that’s not like near Flawless it is silicone intercooler hoses which is another thing the car was supposed to have but you know sounds like
Hardware oh my God that’s one intercooler this box is so big I thought it was two wow holy look at that think oh my that a stuck at all that’s bigger than I thought it was going to [Music] be
I ordered this stuff pretty hastily because well we needed it and we needed it fast I honestly don’t know how wide this intercooler is and I kind of want to find out wow wow 5 and 1/2 in
I’m a big fan of making everything I possibly can in cars lighter this one now this is the part that you want nice heavy quality a gar core me says it right there it’s pretty official this cage
Has been sitting here for quite a while it’s been in another video not a Porsche video my two ideas were either go with a grayscale color on the car and a bright color something like orange as far
As roll cage and calipers obviously we didn’t go that R so infer what you will from that about the color of the car it wouldn’t be right if it didn’t shout these guys out cuz this also came really
Quickly it’s a really nice piece though I haven’t opened it up haven’t installed it this is the BBI Auto Sports Street cup roll bar if you guys aren’t already familiar with him they had a heavy hand in
Building k blocks pink Porsche that you guys might have saw Kim blocks pink p in the pink Porsche at Pikes pink Porsche at Pikes PE we just had a meltdown you guys will see it in the outakes these are the d88 silicone intake hoses from everything I’ve read this is something that
Is a must duel in these cars when you’re making big Power compared to some other silicone Parts I’ve had in the past it’s it’s like good if you guys have ever had like a cheap silicone coupler
Cheap silicone intake they are flimsy this is uh this is not I mean I don’t know that this is a valid test of silicone but that’s that’s pretty good so you guys are probably thinking I thought
You already had a plenum and well I did while I was on their website ordering all this stuff you know I saw a shiny new plenum why not right Fernando it’s only It’s Only Money you know that
That is a dangerous way to live trust me oh man the best part of spending multiple thousands of dollars on Parts is when they give you a free shirt everybody loves a free shirt what’s the
Only thing better than a free shirt sckers it’s really easy to please Car Guys isn’t it last but not least which is a upgrade but again a part I didn’t technically need do88 Y pipe while I was ordering everything else in their entire catalog why not complete The Ensemble right kind of want
To order some more stuff just in case you’re W to do something like this yourself the intercooler kits called their big pack this is their Y pipe they’re probably sick to see us open parts we
Should probably go put some of this stuff on right yeah why not yeah all right well let’s get to work first thing on the agenda here today is to shave these lips off the stock lower intercool
Duct obviously I used a full-size cut off wheel for that that is definitely not the most accurate tool to be using a small die grinder will probably produce a cleaner end result this was more like you’re coming off there and you’re coming off there right now tool even though we
Took out our anger on these shrouds with the most aggressive tool possible it actually turned out really good now especially on these two sides it doesn’t look as clean because I wasn’t able to get a full flat run on it like I was these sides here but even though it comes across on
Camera a little uneven looking it is perfectly flat and honestly pretty impressed by the job that tool did next on the agenda we have to heat up this shroud and form it around this intercooler intank if you can’t tell that intercool is just a little beefier than the stock one the Shroud was
Obviously made to fit around that tiny little in tank not going to cut it with this piece so we have to heat this thing up press down on it until that goes all the way down there like that
Now it does say grab a hand for this portion of the install but we’re fun with that be I’d rather struggle through it myself cussing and bitching the whole time now we just have to flip it around and hope this part doesn’t pop off while we stick on the carbon piece
If you noticed earlier in the video the stock shroud given that the intercooler wasn’t you know completely above average 5 1/2 in clip the together with these little plastic brackets that came off one shroud and hooked around these obviously it’s not going to work here so they
Give you O-rings to wrap around those grooves and put up around the carbon piece like that it seems like a pretty sweet design to me it’s very simple we didn’t have to modify this too heavily except that one tab right there which from the factory did not have any groups to catch an
O-ring and the last one here and just like that they are all together they went together nice and easy great solution in my opinion all we have left to do is put these guys on the brackets
And then we can go ahead and get them in the car one thing I’m going to do is go ahead and give this shroud here a little more heat that way now that it’s held down with those bands now that it
Has some pressure on it we can get it where it needs to be and it won’t have any choice but to stay now I’m sure it’s hard to pick up on camera however that lip is significantly more bent up
Than it was before that means it’s going to seal all the tighter around there so I’m definitely glad I went ahead and did that now we’re headed to trade in the heat gun here for a c off wheel
Because it’s time for one of my absolute favorite activities cutting up a very expensive car now unfortunately this time we don’t get to hack up anything major though trust me that’s coming today we’re just hacking this little bracket off here to make room for that big intercooler according
To the instruction manuals here that is not used on the turbo cars that is simply an exhaust heat shield hanger for the naturally aspirated car so away it goes and as any good mechanic will we’re following these instructions step by step high-speed metal aerosol eh close enough
Anti-corrosion paint that’ll do Mark the cut line with some tape we’ll just go ahead and Eyeball it not nearly as fun as what we’re going to cut off in a couple weeks need to carefully apply
The any corrosion paint that’ll do the last thing we have to do here is get it onto the bracket and then this left hand one is uh ready to go up in the car as with anything this kit has fit
Together great so far we lubed up these holes real nice and it just s right in you have to take the intercoolers off when you are actually ready to put the engine in no so these inter Coors
Are going to stay this is one bit of progress on this car which once it’s done we don’t have to touch it again now one other thing I was going to get into later the worst thing when you’re
Buying an intercooler kit intake whatever car part it is is when it comes with cheap clamps for those of you guys who’ve actually used good worm clamps before you can tell immediately I’m squeezing it pretty hard there it’s not budging this is uh this is the good stuff we’re not going
To be stripping them out no concerns whatsoever that we’re going to be blowing off charge pipes or anything like that we’re all used to Loctite red Loctite blue over here which I do have but I feel like you know Swedish kit we got to use the Swedish thread Locker which apparently is green
Fernando I know it’s the only time you’re going to see me reading instructions it’s because it’s such a nice kit yeah but you and it’s that such a nice car too is it though it is it somebody’s calling you right now to tell you that car sucks like nope I’ve seen it it
Ain’t nice I think I mentioned earlier in the video that I was missing one of these bushings here the rubber bushings that came off the stock intercoolers once I get this side mounted up here I’m going to figure out what bushing will be most accessible and that’s the one I’m going
To leave out on the other side the porch that we’re working on right now nothing that you can take from it probably not that is a good idea Fernando because if you guys didn’t see earlier
We have a 991 GT3 over there however this bushing is a 996 part number which 996 997 a lot of stuff carried over hopefully it’s not some obscure discontinued part and uh we can get it pretty
Easily on the topic of following instructions they did not give an ugad duga spec on this I mean what was that four or five all good dogs that’s probably probably good four four four is good so this is what I imagine is the trickiest part of this whole ordeal have
To make sure this seals properly I may or may not end up needing a hand here Fernando but I’m going to try to do it myself so you can man the camera but if I start yelling and screaming you should jump to my rescue all right just don’t scratch the nice intercooler
Carbon fiber it actually sounds way cooler than the way I say it though I don’t think we’re supposed to have to pull this off I’m going to go ahead and pull this BR off because I think this bolt here sticking out the backs side is what we’re getting hung
On imagine that fits right in there when you move what it’s hitting like crazy idea isn’t it that thing looks massive it does it does oh now the only question is and I can’t demonstrate it on
Camera it says very clearly if this carbon duct doesn’t seal to the duct that’s already on the car you have to add more tape so I’m going to go ahead and get it all bolted up and uh then we’ll
See if it’s sealing if we have to add more tape We’ll add more tape and just so on the same page here before you guys start making fun of me for working on the ground like I’m doing this
In somebody’s backyard I’m doing it for your audio pleasure if we’re on the other side on the lift it’ll sound like [ __ ] and I want it to sound good so don’t be giving me [ __ ] for it oh that’s money soon as I snug that up I don’t
Even have the rest of them tight and it is everything you could ever want out of ceiling yeah the last two bolts Fernando we have to connect the fender liner and stuff but I’m going to leave that stuff off for a
Little bit um there’s no real rush to do that we can wait until the car’s closer to being back together I’m definitely digging it I’m uh pretty happy with it fits great there’s not much
More to say it’s just a really nice kit and I don’t know if video is going to do that justice but in person the difference is absolutely massive fernandos are for photographer he photos every part that comes through here and gets it ready for sale he was getting ready
To take over these intercoolers take over the factory tail light so we can photo them and I can sell them or recoup a couple bucks and he brought up the very good point that means I
Can put the LED tailights in I wasn’t planning on doing that now but I mean why not well good news guys they are exactly what I wanted they aren’t plugged in they’re just test fit but now
Instead of taking up space in the office they can sit out here on the car I’m going to take care of this other intercooler off camera and then we’re going to cut something in half enough of that let’s cut this in half in case you guys don’t remember what was coming out of
This cooling system needless to say we have to replace this they’re prone to cracking anyway instead of throwing this one in the trash I uh to satisfy my curiosity and your curiosity I’m going to cut the thing open and see just how nasty the inside is I’d venture to guess
It’s pretty nasty because this is a hose that we need to reuse and that’s what it looks like on the inside it doesn’t look that bad bad you see down there there’s a little bit of that nasty stuff but look at all that look at all this is that yeah see that’s all
Like depit surpr me that much that stuff down there that’s terrible a theory was that this might be some kind of a stop leak or something so who knows we don’t have to deal with it anymore but we have more cleaning to do to get all that out of our coolant
System this stuff is some of the nastiest stuff I’ve ever found in a cooling [Music] system it’s not bad pretty clean yet again that did not scratch the cutting stuff apart itch but we’ll get there we have our not so shiny new tank in we’re all good to go there I’m going
To call that a day tomorrow Saturday I’ll be here first thing in the morning I’m not sure exactly what we’re going to get into at this point but there’s so much to be done we’ll find something good morning guys we are back in the shop it is absolutely disgusting outside it’s
Not going to stop anything going on inside the shop given that we’re back here working with the rear end of the car I haven’t been able to stop thinking about throwing this trunk on so that’s what we’re going to do now if you guys remember from last episode we bought the design
911 OEM Arrow kit replica trunk I’m always at least slightly nervous thr aftermarket body parts on a car because they’re understandably not going to fit like OEM now I’m hopeful that if we get this thing on there and it fits pretty good I’ll be able to stop obsessing over finding
An oem Arrow kit deck lit with that said if you have one or know somebody who does let me know because I’ll still buy it just to have it now design 911 was very clear that these trunks do
Not include Hardware if you look at the bottom of this OEM trunk there’s a lot of stuff there Vin fans there’s these rubber stops here that adjust the trunk to Bumper Gap once it’s closed point being there’s Provisions for a lot of things on that trunk that this one simply doesn’t have
We’re going to have to get creative we’re going to have to do some cutting we’re definitely going to have to hunt down some Hardware but I have no doubt we can get it done [Music] today I’m going to give por some more credit here this is a very clever design for a
Third brake light you just reach up there poke it with your finger pop it right out Christ as best I can tell it’s all we need off the trunk however there’s one thing I want to do before we pull this thing off there and that’s test the wing Hydraulics the Hydraulics fail they
Leak there’s all kinds of repair kits some of them are Electronics some of the kits just fix the wing in a certain place now while I obviously have no interest in keeping that wing it does matter for
The resale own it if those work that’s going to be significantly more money in our pockets what we’re going to do is make a very crude jumper harness and before you guys start yelling at whatever you’re watching this video on yes I know there’s a button in the car to operate the
Spoiler when I tried to test it with the button it didn’t work now being that this car is a grade A piece of trash there’s so many faults there’s so many lights it very well may be because of that
Now keep in mind I truly have no clue how this wing works I’m going to assume that this is the level sensor here on the passenger side hydraulic ram only the actual hydraulic pump itself there’s
Just a positive and a negative I would guess that once the car decides it wants to raise or lower this Wing based on what whatever parameters it may do so upon it would grab a signal from that level
Sensor right there go ahead and send power to it to raise it and then reverse polarity to lower it maybe that’s how it works maybe it’s not one way or another we’re about to find out so at this
Point the wing is up I don’t know which polarity is going to extend it which polarity is going to retract it so if it doesn’t work there’s at least a 50% chance that it’s simply on here the wrong way that obviously could not have went any better first try get it
Right it goes up it didn’t blow up on me nothing’s on fire nothing’s leaking let’s go ahead and make sure we can get it back up that’s what she said this is the one thing on this car that probably should be broken and it’s not I am going
To go ahead and put this thing down just to make it more compact in case I have to ship it once It ultimately sells one note if you’re testing this yourself it’s very clear that it’s not stopping when the wing gets extended or attracted so whatever you’re using to power these jumpers
Make sure they’re ready to cut it off that level sensor on the ram would send a signal to somewhere in the car to tell it to stop power ing it obviously we bypass that so there’s no safety I’m
No expert but I think if you let that thing run continuously that pump is not going to have a good time I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels this way when I delete something when I get
Rid of something like this active spoiler I also like to deepend the harness and get rid of all the associated wires I haven’t personally worked with these VW style connectors before so I had to order a toolkit we’re going to go ahead and set this aside and pick it up another day
So the first thing you’ll notice here on this aftermarket deck lid is this some of the holes just simply are completed now that is kind of typical of aftermarket fiberglass Parts the threads are down in there we simply need to go ahead and get
This excess fiberglass out of the way so I’m not quite done fitting all the accessories to it but while I have a hand here we’re going to go ahead and mount it to the car uh because I don’t want to be fooling around with this by myself I think
So it looks pretty good so far uh it was a 50-50 shot that I put the striker on the right way and we locked out on powering the wing I got this 50/50 wrong I suppose this is the actual Moment of Truth
Here it needs work but nothing’s hitting I think we might be able to adjust some of this out all right now keeping in mind what we paid for this compared to what we’d have to pay for an
Oem one this one being right around $1,000 Shi from England I’m pretty happy with it we still have to install those stuffs which is why the fitment is kind of wonky there same thing on that side there otherwise I’m at least fairly confident we can make this thing look nearly as
Good as an oem Wing now there is some stuff that’s definitely typical of an aftermarket trunk it might be a little tough to pick up on camera but some of the inserts in there for the mounting holes aren’t exactly straight that bolt at somewhat of an angle I may get like
A stainless lock washer or something to put on there just to take up some of the space if I had to complain about something else the lip where this fan Mount is very obviously pretty loose on the OEM trunk that comes up and seals perfectly on that fan so I’m not sure how
Detrimental that is going to be the cooling but it’s something to take note of I may have to seal that in there somehow possibly with weather stripping or something like [Music] that if you look on the other one here there is a little Notch there to keep it from spinning I
Gave it a couple swipes with a file it notched it right out there and this thing slid right in there it’s firm it doesn’t [Music] spin perfect funny enough one thing they had listed on their
Website in the description for this trunk it said the third brake light hole would not be cut I was very very pleased to see that it indeed well was cut this is exactly how it came and I was
Questioning how well the third brake light would actually fit in there well fortunately it fits pretty damn good now I’m only going to get it to about right there but again it does fit pretty well on the OEM trunk we had that massive access hole for the Hydraulics there to reach up there
And pop this out on this one we don’t I can’t figure out a good way to get in there and pop these clips so we’re going to wait to put this in until it’s ready to go in for the very last
Time I’ll show you guys how it fits now that we’ve adjusted those stops now the trunk aligns pretty much perfectly all the way up and down the tail light we’ll see how it aligns with the bumper
Once we get that back on but I can’t imagine it’s going to be too bad I do want to take a second to note a couple things I’m going to do to this thing that you’re not going to see in this video number
One I’m going to get a couple stainless washers and shim this out by just a hair now that we’ve adjusted it so it lines up properly it’s a little harder to latch I can get it to latch if I really
Whale on it but I think the proper thing to do here is just go ahead and shim it so we don’t have to be slamming on after it’s all fresh and painted number two as I said I’m going to get some
More stainless lock washers to go behind this just to take up some of that slot because again I’m not a fan of the fact that those bolts aren’t straight just thinking about it it’s going to drive me nuts
So we’ll go ahead and take care of that the best we can number three I’m going to have to hunt down some attractive Hardware to mount the wing base to the actual top portion of the spoiler there didn’t come with those I’m thinking maybe button head Allen stainless bolt or something like that
We’ll find something nice we’ll find something that’s surely not going to rust and just as important we’re going to get something that looks good aesthetically now on the OEM trunk there’s a small hole right there for this push pin to go into we’re not going to use that just to make sure
This thing’s extra secure being that it’s mounting to an aftermarket trunk we’re going to go ahead and put a screw in there fortunately it couldn’t worked out any better we had two leftover screws from the OEM trunk from something else so we’re going to go ahead and use these for each of those All right guys now I did find something a little interesting here to finish off this video I was going to install this this is a rear bumperette delete plate from Cipher vehicle designs funny enough it actually turns out that an old friend of mine is the person who manufactures these and
It was even nice enough to draw a thumbs up on it that is a thumbs up right I can’t can’t personally stand the bumper Rats on these cars we’ll yank those off there this Plate’s going to sit in
There to cover up the holes that’s going to give us the look of the European 997 Turbo bumper for like 5% of the cost now if you look at this bumper here you see there’s some damage there
There’s some highs some lows it’s overall just not in good shape this bumperette right here has some damage on it as well it doesn’t look like anything major one thing you need to do when
You install that plate is get rid of these guys here you drill out the two rivets on the top of each one there’s one more on the bottom they come off the plate goes on you’re all good to
Now when I went to pull off the bumper beam to do that this bolt here came out no problem this bolt over here which is the side that that damage over there is on did not you can see that it’s hitting
The chassis right there it looks like whatever caused that damage to the bumper a low speed impact presumably also got that absorber there a little bit now an impact that minor I’m not worried about it doing anything to the rest of the chassis however it does mean we’re probably
Going to have to cut this bolt off or at the very least hack that off unfortunately we don’t have another one of these on hand so we are going to have to delay this to another day those supports
Are dirt cheap so I’m not too worried about it my bigger concern is the bodyw work involved with fixing this bumper because I’m not sure how well you can see it but there are definitely some
Highs and lows in there so w does put a little damper on the last little project we had going for this video I’m super stoked about the way this is going to look once we get this bumper
All fixed up with that plate on there this giant box on my head means we’re done playing around it’s time to cut this car [Music] [Applause] up [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] we should probably pull the headliner first shouldn’t we yeah yeah I got to grab the drill
Too so wait you using the saw I’m not a monster I’m not cutting the roof off a Porsche with that thing are you kidding me all right guys saw Jokes Aside because we do have a little more work to do
To this before we actually cut the roof off of it I’ve been super excited about this video for like two months now in fact I ordered this roof on the way home from buying the car literally in
The truck now if you’re familiar with 997 Turbo options you could not get one without a sunroof period This is a full carbon roof skin from fvd in Germany not only does it look great but it is
Like super light that’s the most impressive part I I agree the bottom of it is just raw carbon I mean look at that it’s just so good now as much as I hate sunroofs that’s not even the biggest
Plus for this part that’s weight reduction I’m not sure exactly how much weight we’re going to lose on this project but we’ll keep track of it throughout the video and get a total for you guys we just had the glass pulled this afternoon so there’s honestly not that much left to do
Before we can cut this roof off of here now I’m going to put you on the spot Fernando how much weight we losing on this project I’m going to say solid 40 PBS 40 lbs all right Fernando’s going 40
I’m going 55 I’m going High I mean I picked that roof up you haven’t picked it up yet have you no I didn’t back inside right yeah you’re right I think that I’m wrong craziness you’re going to say 56 oh
Are you kidding me whose price is righted me you guys might be wondering why don’t more people do this the roof isn’t overly expensive it’s about $2,500 however here’s where you run into issues
On this whole project pretty much your only option if you want to do this swap is to buy an oem GT2 headliner from Porsche and unfortunately they are not cheap last time I was at aim I got a look at a
Car that had the full OEM conversion and it looked awesome fortunately I think I have a solution that doesn’t involves spending $2,500 with Porsche guys meet solution hi I’m solution perfect uh you know
How to work a solo machine right I’ve done a few things come outside with me real quick now it just so happens Alex here which is one of my business partners owned an upholstery shot before he uh
Came down here so I think he might be able to take care of this and might be able to save us a few bucks there’s a so line right here in the factory headliner and that is a listing that is
Just holding the headliner up you can see it actually moves we’re going to recreate that up here and we’ll attach them to the outer bars and we’ll sew across and put a listing inside that actually holds the headliner up and gives it tension and then it won’t require the sunroof
To hold it up like it is right now so this just flips down like this and the Front plastic piece is the housing which Clips up into the roof line here we’re probably going to have to modify this
And then the sides here are these little plastic Clips that’s what I’m curious about because I haven’t seen a headliner like this before y all they do is clip around and you just pop them out this is a listing that is sewn into the headliner that’s the the Stitch line you see and
They have this metal bar that goes over it that holds it that’s all that’s going to hold it the headliners that I’m familiar with are shells not a piece of fabric like this so this is completely
New to me and once again we are depending on solution to take care of us here hopefully we have a working sunroof on this thing or this is going to get way more complicated so bomb away here oh there we
Go we have to buy the listing Rod we already have material which show you guys that in a second but we just need to buy the rod I guess all right we’re in here at the old Parts rack and uh we
Did already get our GT2 map light in this is kind of the last key piece to the puzzle here the next thing I’m curious about here is how close of a match is this material we got it’s not perfect
But fortunately in that car that is the only piece of Alcantara right so we don’t have to match something else it’s going to be fine this is going to be yeah so I’m going to hit Home Depot
Hunt down some nice Long Rod he’s going to order that listing material and that means we can come in here first thing tomorrow and cut that roof off we got ourselves some nice spot well drill bits here it’s only fitting that they’re also from Germany the plan of attack here is to get
The rest of this cealing off here so we can see all the spot welds pull these moldings drop the Sun roof and then we’re going to get to [Music] Drilling [Music] 3 hours in this honestly has
Not been too bad I’ll go through it in depth after we get it off I have to give Carrington credit here I thought this was going to be an all day type Affair it’s going to be like a 4H
Hour job it’s not going to be too bad man I am curious though if anybody knows what I I guess normal like time is on removing a roof on one of these shop time yeah shop time yeah whatever it
Books for I was going to praise these drill bits after I was done this and giv you guys The Rundown but I need to brag about them to Austin right now also it’s an actual spot weld
Drill bit yes the head does look different you can see the head is flat retail nose is $45 each I’ve never had an a drill bit that expensive and it is worth every penny I mean
It how many did you buy two two two and you didn’t even and there’s still one unopen so whole roof with one drove it it didn’t dull it didn’t like stop working well I asked them how
Many they had they said they had six I told her I’d probably be back for more and I’m not going to be I’m using a wood chisel for this it’s worked pretty well um but I’m positive it’s not the right
Tool I think this is off I say that that seemed like it had like good movement a little bit of seam sealer you know what the amazing part about this whole deal is I’ve only broke one thing and it’s a plastic clip one plastic clip I’ll take
It heyy there we go so I don’t know if you’ve talked about it in this video yet since I haven’t been around for a lot of your recording on a scale of 1 to 10 how terrifying is it doing this never
Having done it before and doing it on a Porsche it should be terrifying but some reason it’s not it’s I I can’t explain it if we do this and put it back together and there’s like a 1 in gap in the
In the glass it’s like fitting diagonal after this then we might have a problem but for now I’m just I’m just High Hopes I think everything’s went pretty smooth oh it’s it’s coming
Off okay I expected to do that so I guess this is what you call the money shot right taada one for the time lapse I mean that thing’s been running for 2 hours now so hopefully it’s still alive but
Hey guys okay you see anything on the bottom of this that looks weird do you I see somebody did some welding on it what is all that so the puzzle pieces are starting to come together on this car
Sealer is that factory there this sealer here I believe fact yeah there’s some down there too so if you look right there that goes right here and right here which we are going to have to put that
For the new roof too so that’s how it should be but if you guys remember the first episode I was looking at I’m like why did he buy a sunroof assembly I don’t quite know why I didn’t catch
This in the receipts till after I left but it also got the sunroof panel replaced now it makes sense so this car at some point had roof damage obviously this has been pulled it’s you can’t
Tell I I’ll give them Credit Now given the quality of the build on this car and I say build Loosely this isn’t surprising but the sunroof had shims in it and by shims I mean some shims some of these
Is some Home Depot washers it did fit properly so what do we give him on that fix because it didn’t look bad the hardware was all mismatched but I mean you got to give him for it it looking good
You get at least half credit so that’s at least a five out of 10 yeah the main thing here is this whole like assembly isn’t like bent in isn’t all screwed up it was just cosmetic roof damage
I believe yeah I was going to say there’s no evidence just looking at it briefly that that it had anything more than you know who knows it might even been like light hail damage yeah I mean it
Could have very well been and it just had a little bit out the front or something like that you know very ated hail storm in like a 6 in radius before you go any further with this do I need your guess
On how much weight we’re losing without picking up any of this stuff over here because nobody else had the opportunity to do that I’m going to say 30 I think that the roofs even though that one’s
Metal I think there’s probably only like 5 lbs in the roof skin itself and then so I’ll probably be a little bit light but I’ll stick them my guess at 30 we got this box of Hardware too which isn’t
Much but you know a pound I mean that’s still I was going to say still that’s that’s at least a pound yep um so I guessed 55 okay Fernando prices righted me at 56 and he acted like he didn’t know
What he was doing so he he really hey they got to have prices right now Salvador we’re going to find out the answer to that in just a minute but first one issue we were having in the planning of
The new headliner is where we’re going to stick those rods I think while they weren’t used in this that’s what these are for and I’m going to have Austin tell me because he definitely knows better than I do so I think that rod goes through there in that hole and that’s
The stop that is definitely possible normally in the metal you would have the hole and then you’d have two like dimples that stuck out and when you move the bow when it got to Vertical it would end
Up in the hole it would basically click and the little dimples would keep it from going too far forward or too far backward cuz you want it to be true across the car yeah so this little part of
The click that’s what that would act as that right would act as that exactly that’s what yeah so that little thing would basically keep it true and then it has a little bit of play in it for when
You tension the headliner it tensions just like old car headers do something’s wrong with this forklift I don’t know what’s going on goinging driv it’s something with the Hydraulics I think 235 250 now go ahead and hold it 49 250 28 it’s about 255 probably 6 lb so somewhere
Somewhere like 7 lb Fair wow that’s incredible oh man that I’m way I’m way off wow 18 lb 18 lb you have at least 10 lb just in the Skins themselves this is that’s the head yeah this
That thing’s ridiculous 24 24 I thought it be more than 24 more 10 yeah so 35 lb 35 lb 35 lb is 35 lb I did think it was maybe going to be a little more um but you
Can’t go wrong with that like how can you be mad at weight loss like that I’m going to say it in the video cuz I know someone’s going to say it in the comments that’s from
The highest point that is the highest point in the cars back up it was a struggle to get up here now as for the roof in case this is something you’re planning on doing yourself honestly it
Looks pretty daunting but as I’ve already said it’s not that bad it is a lot of drilling but that’s pretty much it there’s nothing else really hard complicated or otherwise not straightforward about taking this thing off this Ro adhesive there just popped right off we didn’t have to
Do anything with it all you’re going to have to do is grab yourself one of those bits go to town and I think you’ll also be surprised at how easy it is now we can talk about how easy this
Portion of this project was all day I truly think the hard part is what comes next it’s common knowledge that aftermarket carbon Parts simply don’t fit that well I hope since this one appears to be great quality it’s not going to be the case here obviously there’s only one way to
Find out the 3M epoxy and the tool that we’re going to use to put it on is going to be here shortly we’re going to get in here first thing in the morning and see just how good that roof
Fits it’s the day we’ve all been waiting for and by we all I definitely mean just me we’re fitting the roof I believe we have all the supplies we need we have three 3M dp420 epoxy adhesive we
Have this way too expensive 3M applicator before we can do anything else I do have to go ahead and prep this surface I’m going to wire whe it I’m going to go ahead and do that off camera because
Let’s be honest nobody wants to watch me sit here and wire wheel for an hour straight guys this was a first for me but we lost a microphone so I’m narrating this part during editing I had
No idea what to expect when we were testing this thing and honestly I was fairly nervous as soon as we put that roof on there and I noticed the edges were not extended out as far as the OEM
Roof I really thought we were about to be in for a terrible time fortunately we got over that fairly quick because as soon as we sat those roof moldings in there they fit dead nuts perfect the seals wedged exactly how they should it is completely indistinguishable fitment from an oem
Roof I was planning on using the roof rack tie downs to hold down this roof I thought it was a pretty clever way to hold the roof down using some OEM Hardware the lack of width would not let
Me drill a complete hole there so I had to scrap that idea that excitement from realizing that roof fit perfect ly quickly dissipated because it was time to start drilling hands down this was the
Most nerve-wracking part of this entire install I had no idea if this clear was going to split if I was going to crack this roof once I drilled into it not a single clue it’s about that time let’s
Drill this first hole I’m thinking for now I’m going to drill this one one on each of the other four corners use those as alignments then I’m going to go around and just start to drill my
Other rivet holes I’m not going to finish them with the roof on the car I don’t want to chance it going through the drill nicking the roof or something like that wish me luck oh that hurts I already hit that other front one I’m going to carefully hit these rear two then
I’m going to drill pilot holes through the roof just touching the metal so I know where to drill we’re going to yank the roof off then run through the rest of these as quick as [Music] possible [Music] he we drilled all afternoon I think we’re finally done everything’s in everything Fits like it should we probably went overboard with the rivets but I guess what can it hurt we did one test there on the roof it honestly looks pretty good the roof didn’t crack the
Roof didn’t Flex now I got to go coax a couple people to stay a little late with me tonight but I’m going to go ahead and do that get cleaned up get the adhesive on there and then it’s go
Time one of the key pieces here was this tip it mixes the stuff for you it’s pretty sweet and keep in mind once this comes out out we have 20 minutes max he’s falling yeah I see so this is our first time using this obviously this is supposed to be the non
Sag formula well she falling she’s sagging a little bit but we’re going to see what it does wow I’ve never heard lightting like that that’s I that I don’t know if I’m using too much too little or what we got five minutes already
Five that’s fine you can just run run it with this just run that yeah I thought was be out of it that needs to be thick as hell in there cuz that that doesn’t meet it doesn’t it does not
Meet what’s all saying teamw work Makes the Dream Work stupid yeah not the one on the corner but the one in yeah stick it in there and we’ll use that to align it without a team here to do this you’d really be racing the clock if you tried to do this by yourself
This this would be tough 13 minutes it’s all right not too bad we’re on there we just got to clamp it down be all good this thing is dope it is crazy right it’s going to make the GT4 can’t give children anything one thing I was worried about with this is that when
It hit this gel coat when this when this rivet clamped down and broke it was going to crack up here or something but this gel coat is soft good stuff it’s not doing that and super thrilled so
Far it did exactly what I wanted to do on that inside that bead was just high enough where didn’t have to use the 3M this stuff we had enough left over it worked perfectly so I think we’re in good shape here don’t want to jinx us but you [Music]
Know this metal back here is super super super thin it’s very flimsy uh it’s definitely the least structural part of this I don’t know how much time we got left check can’t be far off of
20 that’s right I’m sure oh 23 20 minutes you know what I mean done that part Tim our carbon genius friend said we’d use about 80% of that we used 100% of it so at least we didn’t go light on it
For doing this the first time I think we really nailed this to be honest and now we get to play with my favorite Marin sealant it’s going to be a light bead just to cover up any any bare metal I
See what they mean about that work time you guys saw how liquidy this was oh it’s it’s sticky man and look like I just realized that they say you definitely don’t want to touch this then I didn’t
Put on gloves then I started playing with it so so if you guys have ever worked with silicone or any kind of epoxy sealant any kind of sealant at all once that starts setting up and you need to clean
It up you need to get it you know structured the way you want there’s no sugar coat in it it sucks the finished product as far as the sealant looking super smooth uh in the gutter isn’t exactly how
I would like it um unfortunately that stuff dried so fast and tacked up that really not much we can do we’re not going to touch it we’re not going to look at it I don’t want to even breathe on
It right now we’ll get back here first thing in the morning put the gutters in make sure they still fit and let’s hope they do because if they don’t we’re screwed all right guys couldn’t wait to get here this morning to clean this roof off or better yet have our Master detailer Fernando
Clean it off and really see how this thing looks on the car the good news is before we do that I already test fit the gutters once more just to make sure and they fit perfectly the 3 m5200 is
Definitely a little tacky still it can take up to 72 hours to really really cure and get hard especially when it’s 900% humidity out here as for the epoxy and I think it honestly might come
Across in camera that stuff is rock hard look at this thing oh that’s a piece of the epoxy yeah wow trying oh my God okay we played with a lot of adhesives yesterday and we have some on the roof
Right there almost that was scary really scary almost looked like right in the center there where I had this thing upside down on the the bubble wrap there when I was sanding on it it was kind
Of pivoting a little bit and uh it really scared me but I’m hoping that comes off let’s do a maget trick okay all that worrying for nothing and in case you couldn’t see it yesterday this is why
We’re putting all that 3M down in there we don’t want any water to be able to get in there I’m 99% sure that 3M epoxy is perfectly sealed under there but we don’t want to take any chances
That’s why we ran that extra row of 3M 5200 on there I’m loving it this is probably the best mod I’ve done to this car thus far now that Fernando worked his magic on the roof we have to go check
On that headliner fortunately guys that was really easy we just made a little insert from some spare plastic I had laying around the GT2 light bezel still Clips in just like the factory one did you
Have those little tabs that sit over that plastic these little guys here that come up and clip over the plastic and then you just need to make a back support for that right there we very
Crudely cut a piece there it slides right under as long as we bom that up we should be good to go now this portion definitely is not necessary but I’ve had really good luck with this stuff kind of encasing the edges of plastic that I’m trying to attach together so I’m not in
Any mood to stop now and hopefully that’s one more problem we just solved now it’s your turn to work your magic on this thing this is going to be it’s going to be easier than I thought once you get all the fabric off the Plastics you just basically copy it
Right just going to lay down flat yeah so that stuff must not be that hard to bend right it’s not okay well that’s pretty money now the question is here is it going to fit the rest of the ones
Or are they all different sizes it it should get more narrow as it goes back I’m not going to lie this carbon roof looks so cool that if you could make some like custom panels to just
Cover all this I would just leave the carbon roof I wonder if it’d be possible to make like recreate all the pillar Plastics to leave an exposed carbon roof so it’s sealed tight to it I don’t know guys that might have to be a project for the future we only got one section
Out of each Rod so we are one short do we drive 30 40 minutes away get another section of 6ft Rod nah I have to say I like the Alcantara listing a little better you know it’s it’s very Porsche very
Super carish this stuff here is basically where you to have to glue it correct yeah so this is the old headliner you see I put X there that just means extra and then I drew some preliminary marks
Out here of just so I didn’t cut myself short but these lines are where the old headliner was and right on the money with the yellow and we’re going to go a little little tighter even though it’s showing that it really is about right we’re going to go a little
Tighter so now I see why you wanted to stop doing upholster like getting in this position every day just can’t be the most fun no I actually I think the rivet might actually be hitting it looks like
It’s hitting like the cross brace wait tell what like this Center area so that I can get this to flip here I’ll just do this yeah I was going say you just get that right there vinyl that looks phenomenal so I guess that get a little bracket that made ended up working out
Okay we are going to have to glue that because that is just a little loose there we’ll pull that tight and that should make that fine right pull it up and glue it yeah we’ll glue it right
I didn’t yeah I didn’t do anything with it it’s just chilling there um yeah so we’ll do that on both sides here so one of the biggest things when we’re done with this without cona if you steam it
With a steamer it causes it to relax and all of these little things right here even if we didn’t glue it all this would go away we just finished this thing up and by we I mean Alex so everybody
Give Alex a thanks on his way out the door because I kept him here far too long tonight any way I try to film this it just does not do it justice it’s very bright in this garage and very dark inside
This car even with my semi-professional auxiliary lighting kit this headliner project is definitely definitely definitely a success we do have a couple things left on the to-do list specifically for the interior one I have a handful of very minor pieces that I have to order two that factory
Dome light was missing one of the switches uh it was like kind of broken apart it didn’t have the face it did still have like the physical circuit board back there so we’re going to have to source
That as well number three we’re going to have to pull it down and glue around that dome light and once again by we I mean Alex now number four when we pulled these visors out one was kind of just
Hanging in there with the wrong bolt they were kind of flopping around these black plastic covers the cover where the hardware goes they’re supposed to snap right in there but if you look closely you can see that every one of those tabs is broken on our second sun visor here it’s actually cracked
And the actual bolt hole itself is blown out so that means we’re either going to have to hope porse sells those plastic Parts separate or buy new sun visors one of the next episodes is going
To be all about the interior where we’re going to do a roll cage the seats and whatever else we can find what better Edition than a set of Alcantara sun visors I’m sure everybody watching this video at some point or another has taken on a very ambitious project and something has not went
Right I sure have more times than not that was not the case here everything went as good as you could possibly imagine un fortunately the end result is absolutely phenomenal not only did the product come out great we learned a ton in the process guys welcome back to another day in the amazing
Journey that has been rescuing this absolute disaster of a Porsche 91 turbo we are this close to getting our fully built engine turbo kit fuel system etc etc you get the point back from Aim performance this car as it sits definitely not ready to be making almost 1,000 horsepower
Not even close nowhere near so let’s go ahead and fix that with a beautiful set of raro seats a sick BBI Autos Sports roll bar and of course a set of numeric racing shifter cables so we can row gears on this six-speed manual transmission like the Porsche Gods intended automatics are faster
Anyway I have a theory that we can accomplish this without adding a single pound of weight to the carb so let’s go find out of course the first thing on our agenda getting rid of these stock seats for obvious reasons I’m going to go grab a pair of gloves before I continue sticking
My hand down in there so this wasn’t technically built as a barn find but I mean I suppose I should note while I was on a quick hius from this project finishing up the GT4 rebuild which if you haven’t watched it Now’s the Time a major shop upgrade has taken
Place no more working in the side unit no more bad lighting no more working on a forklift the 911 Turbo finally going to have the Works Space it deserves raro great seats terrible vacuum ceiling awful I’m hoping we still have everything here it was kind of just rolling around in the bubble
Wrap I believe we do have all the hard here the first thing we’re going to do here is address the biggest issue with this entire install this is the inner rail the place where we Mount the OEM seat
Belt in this car we’re not going to run harnesses we’re going to try to make it not feel like a race car unfortunately as you can see this isn’t lining up first little area of trouble that right there
We need to cut that just a little bit second area of trouble it’s actually hitting the back of this nut so right off the bat we have to get to cutting Drilling and modifying but I believe after that it’ll be fair fairly straightforward I’ve thought over the different ways to do this
I don’t want to go hacking that nut down I feel like the safest possible way to do this is drill a access hole right there it may seem sketchy to drill a hole in your seat brackets however
There’s already one right there from ricaro theory is that’ll slide right into said hole and then of course we’ll be able to mount that properly now you might be asking yourself why is a kit using ricaro seats in ricaro Brackets not fitting right and that’s a good question well I can’t answer
That for sure I do have a theory I believe this kit is for an older version of this seat in the instructions here one of the first things it tells you to do pull this entire side panel off if you
Take a look at the seat there is no side panel we just pulled that one little piece of plastic off that’s one cut down time for number two and of course we’re going to do it in the most precise way possible oh
Yeah I’m at least pretty sure that would hold up to NASA standards I’m thinking this is going to get us started and then we’ll go ahead and finish it off with a carbide bit now the TVs work begins this may be quite possibly the least elegant way to do this
Now that we got that out of the way I believe it’s just as easy as Bolt stuff together the only thing that makes this slightly complicated is that there’s a couple different spacers and whatnot you have to use other than that very very straightforward well except that
Whole grinding part but you get my point we’re fit up pretty well I wanted to give you guys a quick look at how that worked out behind there you can kind of see that big old nut poking through other than that little headache everything worked out really really well as long as it
Bolts in the car like it should this is going to be an easy install just as advertised trust me guys I am chomping at the bit to get this thing in the car and see how it looks but there’s one
Thing we have to do first we got to yank this guy off the old seat and stick it on the new seat you can see the wiring from it kind of runs all throughout the seat and eventually makes its
Way up here to this big yellow connector if I’m looking at this the right way it almost looks like each of these individual going in there are separate connectors that kind of come together in this well it looks like that is correct I’m sure if I really needed to I could
Just connect this to the car somehow but I wonder if the rest of these are going to come out of here as easily okay and then more importantly will this not fall all the way in well all the individual connectors there kind of stacked
Together and just slipped right out of this yellow connector that’s amazing thank you Porsche now I do feel the need to note here and this is a very important distinction these are not Harbor Freight zip ties these are official raro German zip ties
They even gave us a zip tie to replace the Porsche one we cut off this little connector she ain’t going nowhere I believe we are about ready we’ll go ahead get our makeshift temporary workbench out of the way get the car over here and see how these things
Look Moment of Truth assuming this all fits it’s really really hard to describe guys but I feel like this just updates the car in the perfect way now as good as it looks there is an issue that’s the adjustment knob right there
That’s the carpet it’s hitting as of right now this seat needs to go back for sure you might be able to tell my legs on this steering wheel very close we’re definitely going to have to address
That now do know from experience that you can pull this knob off there’s a little bar that comes out that’ll give us a little more room problem is I’m not sure if that’s going to be enough as of
Right now we have a ton of room behind that seat we should be able to bring it back quite a bit but if you’ve ever put a cage in a car you know a lot of room can turn into no room whatsoever
Really fast so before we go modifying the seat cutting the carpet whatever I want to put the cage in I’m not going to lie guys this looks amazing I think they look ridiculously good if we can get them to fit right with that cage behind us I really wasn’t prepared for the interior
Episode to be one of my favorites but I think that’s where we’re headed now that we have our seats all assembled in test fit it’s time to get our first batch of weights for the comparison later in the video that prediction I made at the beginning of the video I’m not
Feeling real confident about it these raros especially once they’re fitted with all the bracketry the sliders they are not light it also turns out that I figured out the spec on the stock seats they’re not the 18 way adapta seats which is why they look kind of basic it
Also means they’re significantly lighter than the Adaptive sport seats that you can option on these cars for stock seats in fact they’re so light that I’m not sure we’re going to save any weight going to the raro ultimately I think this battle is going to come down to
What that roll cage over there weighs versus rear seat and all this bracketry seat belt all the other random stuff we pulled out but it doesn’t matter what I think let’s hit the scale and get a Baseline Uno holy crap 48 lb oh wow 48 lb oh goodness that’s not great oh
Man that’s nice 95 lb for verification right there 95 lb we might as well go ahead and throw the roll cage on there as well that way we have the total weight for every single item we’re adding to the
Car with everything on the scale we are at a total of 146 lb this is not going to be as easy as I thought next up on the to-do list shifter cables fortunately this stuff hasn’t been
Installed since the day I bought the car so we’re off to an easy start so I’m not positive when this console has been off here last but they put like half the screws back in this one’s there but it’s not tight wrong Hardware on this side missing Hardware
There correct Hardware there miss missing missing half ass loose but there [Music] unreal on the missing Hardware front I have recently acquired how do you say this a lot of spares for this car and I mean a lot but we’ll talk more about that in a video coming
Soon due to the fact that the shift knob was just sitting there we did learn about this in an earlier video I don’t know what brand it is but it definitely has some type of short shifter on
There so as I’m under here pulling these cables I forgot how jacked up this car was underneath it’s been a hot minute since I’ve actually been underneath it but God we have some work to do under here these coolant lines got clipped at some point something
Just cut across them this under panel this underpanel this one’s missing the studs are bent uh there’s a lot to do here but I suppose that is an issue for another [Music] episode that’s a lot of cable through a very little hole
And there we have these crusty old dry rodded shifter cables I left myself this nice little note so I wouldn’t forget that I did that this is what they’re supposed to look like one tab two tab one tab broken tab once that happened I realized how nasty and dry these were and if
You look at the ends here they’re just in bad shape just looking at the Quality difference between these two parts it is insane numeric racing the company that made these shifter cables actually makes a really sick Shi shifter as well unfortunately I had to hold off on that
Because we recently got the bill for the engine build it’s not cheap regardless I think this is a perfect happy medium they didn’t break the bank the car already has a short shifter though I’m sure it’s not as good as the numeric I think this is going to do us just fine for
Now cable Numero Uno numero dose not going to lie to you guys this gr’s putting up a bit of a fight I got you I got you [Music] b y as for the cables this is about where we have to leave these there’s a super
Specific adjustment procedure that we can’t do unfortunately until the trans is in the car so we’re going to have to hold P off on the rest of the shifter cable install for just a little bit but the good news is that means it’s time to start working on the
Cage you guys may or may not have noticed the face I was making when I pulled that carpet out of the car things have snowballed fast we spent a little money we’re going to take a couple extra things out of the car because of this take this carpet
Please just flip it over and you know give it a smell other side yeah that’s the face that I made as well you’re got some problems yeah I don’t know if I have problems but I have found a solution
That piece of carpet right there did not need to be removed to do this cage something didn’t smell right it didn’t smell good at all so that’s when I started feeling around around looking around and more importantly smelling around yeah we have some water in the car we’ve already established
That this car has had a rodent problem in the not so distant past now if you think a 997 with a rodent issue is bad what about a 997 with a rodent issue and a water issue I have absolutely no clue
How it got in but at some point water got in here now this car has been inside for the past couple months I’m inclined to believe that this did not happen while I had it now it doesn’t really matter
How it got there or when it got there what does matter is this my problem now and that leads us to the question of what are we going to do to fix it there’s a couple options the first being
Of course we just clean this if it was just wet I’d be open to that this is not only wet Fernando that looks like mold to me you know what you got to do what’s that just don’t put interior on it
Paint it like a thick color because you didn’t reveal the color yet and drive it like a race car I like that but I don’t want to go that race car with it I kind of don’t want to stay carpeted
Interior so the next best thing half race car Half street car the GT3 carpet it is the same exact part except one it doesn’t have mold and two more importantly it doesn’t have that hole
That hole that hole or that hole I gave Sun Coast Porsche Parts a ring it turns out it’s only 300 bucks how can you beat that that’s the good news the bad news however four to six weeks out four
To six weeks got to come from Germany the German company 9 FF makes a plug for that so we have that cover we’re never putting rear seats back in the car now here’s the part a few of you may not like
In this project we need every ounce of weight we can possibly get out of here I know what you’re talking about you know what I’m talking about what am I talking about I know you know it and I Know
It that bracket right there rear seat Mount it’s not in the gt3s and it’s about to not be in this turbo either Fernando fire up the spot well drill bit please yeah I know it’s not great but this car
Is what it is at this point we cut the roof off it we’re cutting up a lot of stuff next episode this is minor in addition to that I had originally planned on keeping all this sound deader in here I
Didn’t want to make it some loud obnoxious Radley car problem is it’s all disgusting this stuff is all just really nasty oh man look at those oh my God look at the shut oh that’s disgusting that’s
No one no not at all and a card that’s already been pretty much a disaster I mean I guess it’s not the biggest deal in the world we’ve had worse right oh my no so not only has this thing been
Wrecked but it’s also been underwater is what I’m gathering by the conversation as I’ve been walking 997 submarine yeah I wouldn’t be surprised at all if it had a leak from the sunroof and it just traced its way down if I have to imagine they were somewhere right here yeah and probably besides
Them dripping through the headliner the shortest point was down like here o yeah yeah that’s strong disgusting yeah we’re going to take a bad and spin it into a good with the GT3 carpet and it’s
Going to let us hack this car up just a little bit more and take a little more weight out of it that was definitely a lot of work for what seems like kind of a small amount of weight
But I believe when you’re doing something like this that every ounce counts when you apply that logic to the entire build it really starts to add up one other quick note I let the car sit without that rear carpet in it overnight it smells 10 times better now that we’ve got
All that moldy nasty wet rodent infested sound deadening carpet whatever out of there we’ve cut the couple things off that we’ve needed to cut off it’s finally time to install that cage the BBI kit is supposed to be a really easy install I guess we’re about to find out
Also word on the street a special guest is on their way up here right now with one more sweet interior part now very carefully we’re going to go in through the missing rear glass and it fits I probably shouldn’t talk until the whole things in bolted down but I
Was under the impression we were going to have to cut these metal amplifier wiring harness whatever they are covers I’m not so sure that that’s going to be the case we really couldn’t be off to a better start I guess now the question is how’s the interior going to fit around
It [Music] oh I see it the way you remove this bow subwoofer in a stop car is you hit that Torx in the front and slide it Forward off the brackets unfortunately we can’t do that now because we have that beautiful roll
Cage there so that presents a problem we can’t sit these guys down on top these brackets they have to slide in from the front there we go so I’m hoping we can slide these brackets in prematurely
Sit these down on the metal studs right there and be able to tighten these 2 10 mm after the fact the good news is we do have access to tighten those bolts the bad news is if we ever have to
Remove that Bose subwoof again for any reason it’s going to suck the interior is pretty much going to have to come apart to this magnitude now before we commit and actually tighten that subwoofer down we have to cut this carpet that goes in front of it we basically need to push
It back under the subwoofer to about that line right there we’re going to try to clearance this the best we can hopefully we can do it pretty clean it’ll slide right in and we’ll be good to go I easily had an hour in adjusting this stuff to make that cut look
Perfect fortunately I think that hour paid off because I got it pretty damn good d That’s nice wow if you like me have ever had the fortune of putting a one piece roll bar in a car it sucks it really really sucks this is an awesome design that’s a beautiful [Music]
Sight I don’t know about you guys but I am really digging this cage it was a super easy install couldn’t have asked for anything more the lower leg of this cage right here bolts to where the factory seat belt did this tab right here allows you to bolt that factory seat Bel
Here so you don’t have to run harnesses at this point in the series this should come as a surprise to absolutely no one but we have a nasty Rusty mess of a driver’s seat belt it’s no coincidence whatever that it also happens to be on the same side where we found that
Water is it perfect absolutely not is it good also no but we’re going to go with it for now until I can find a new seat belt the man in fancy clothes brings us a really fancy sun
Visor the other one’s in the office right he didn’t bring me just one no yeah there’s both are in the office so if you watched the episode that we did the headliner and the carbon roof on
You know that we were lacking sun visors the stock ones they look like crap give us the old rundown how does a non- upholstery guy do something like that so unfortunately this one unlike that you
Need a sewing machine so basically what you do is you make a slip cover for the visor you leave the whole back Edge all open and it slips around this Edge slips around this Edge you slip it
On just like a cover and then you completely go through and hand sew the entire back edge with a hand needle and thread and that closes the visor up this is exactly how OEM visors are done so some
Dude in a golf outfit stitches that up as well I I I bet they have a machine oh in some sort that does it these are the new labeless Mirror covers from eBay Motors they look pretty good
I am thrilled to finally be putting visors in this thing it took me three yes three sets of visors to acquire the Plastics that I needed in good shape this was an absolute nightmare these things right here super super super brittle not available aftermarket almost every used set you
Find for sale they’re also broken on this nightmare piece of plastic right here even though three of the clips are good still doesn’t want to attach so we’re going with a dollop love that so we’re going to go with a dollop of like 3M 42 100 something that is removable
I’ve been dealing with some visors far too long on this project I’m done with it out of what I have to believe is pure dumb luck the passenger side actually did clip in and on that note I am
Done laying in this interior done messing with this stuff let’s go get some weights first up on the scale the driver’s seat it’s not as heavy as I remember O Okay 50 lb the passenger seat
Weighs 47 I’m trying to convince myself that this is going to work out I am still not sure the rear seat o oh 119 all the miscellaneous stuff those brackets every little bolt screw piece of sound deadening we took out grand total 135us 2 lb I guess this is technically a failed
Mission well guys after a very long Saturday I am happy to say the project is finished seats installed cage installed everything fits like a glove sort of a couple areas of note you guys remember we were worried about that ricaro knob hitting here ultimately the issue
Ended up being this plastic piece right here hitting right there now I am thinking that if we need to we could angle cut that right there doing that along with removing that adjustment knob would definitely give us a little more travel back which I do think we’re going to
End up needing but right now that’s the last thing my mind I’m going to put that off until the car is running and driving at some point I’m going to do a smaller diameter steering wheel as well probably the same one that was in the GT4 I just rebuilt very minor
Fitment issues aside this one about as well as you could ever imagine and looks [Music] [Music] wise guys have you ever been in the middle of a bill where pretty much nothing is going smoothly and then suddenly everything comes together all at once one single part has prevented me from getting
This terrible example of a Porsche 911 Turbo into the paint boot lucky for us it’s in this giant crate along with some other parts that I probably shouldn’t have but definitely did buy some made
By Porsche some made by a guy who was murdered by gangsters and some that are well missing there is figuratively and literally a lot to unpack in this episode so let’s get to it uh it’s already open
Really we’re starting there I can’t believe that you’re going to put airb drop it it’s stop it God it’s not even 8 in the morning come on how much you have to cut do you already know H we’re about
To find out aren’t we now on the rareness scale this isn’t super super high up there we’ll give it an official 7 and2 out of 10 these flares are actually available from Porsche they just take absolutely forever to get for those of you that are unfamiliar this is the OEM GT2 front fender
Flare kit I ordered these bad boys roughly 5 months ago now that they finally shown up we get to do things in the proper order we get to cut up the car stick the flares on and then send
It up to paint along with the flares themselves we get these beautiful GT2 side marker lights if we stuck the flare on with this corner light it would look absolutely ridiculous the flare would stick out the corner light would go in then the bumper flare portion would come back out this
Guy right here takes care of all that what’s the only thing better than acquiring nice new rare expensive Parts you guessed it cutting up nice new rare expensive Parts these guys they don’t fit the turbo bumper we have to hack them up actually that’s way better than I thought it was
Going to be wow I thought these were going to fit horribly it turns out that’s not the case how are you going to fill this Gap we’re going to leave that up to the professionals Tim Hicks industry
Garage Street Bandido on YouTube not only is he going to be the guy painting the car he’s going to be the guy working these making sure they fit he’s going to be the guy fixing some
Of the stuff in here because trust me it needs it you’ll see it later in the video what color yeah you almost got me on a more unfortunate note about these front bumper pieces one showed up broken because they took so long to get I really can’t do anything about it I can’t
Afford to wait another three four five months to get a replacement so we just have to roll with it the good news there however is it’s not that big of a deal it kind of fits back on yeah perfect can’t even tell right the small bit of damage has made me nonetheless excited
About this Fernando what do you say we get to cutting this car up a little bit let’s [Music] go one of the nice things about getting actual OEM GT2 fender flares as opposed to some of the cheap aftermarket copies even though these come with a price tag and a weight they’re
Super super high quality and they have these little alignment pins here I think that’s going to kind of let me tape it up here go ahead and figure out where those pins go drill it that way
I can make sure it fits exactly how I want it to before I actually cut the fender there we go that’s the big giant Gob of paint I’m looking for now if I’m as smart as I think I am when I pull
This off there’s going to be a white dot there and just are you 100% sure about that nope oh perfect I have to say I’m impressed I have to say for just having this mocked up I am super impressed with the way it
Fits there is a pretty decent gap on the top of it but once we actually adhere that double-sided tape I think it’ll tighten up nicely other than that all the gaps are really really tight and
Nice we do have ourselves a good bit of cutting to do you guys know I’m always down for some of that I did want to check this out and see how it’s going to line up it’s definitely going to need to be modified pretty heavily that broken piece there is visible so we’re
Going to have to repair that when you have the Gap set properly up top down here on the bottom it’s like 2 mm too long so I’m pretty sure he’s going to have to adjust that as well well about that time Safety First don’t ask me how it’s like perfect absolutely Perfect just a quick look at what it looks like from the backside there you can see it doesn’t open up a massive amount of space but it’s definitely enough for another 10 20 mm
Of Tire to fit in there we haven’t even sat this down yet and I’m not very hopeful about how this is going to look we didn’t pick up that much width but I think it’s just enough where this
Wheel’s going to look really weird and look at that filing that’s no bu is that supposed to be like that if we’re just talking the body I think it looks great bringing the fronts out a little wider matches the the rear is real nice now digging that we got to do something
About the wheels though yes this wheel fitment definitely not going to cut it fortunately the other day I order something up that I think is going to fix this issue real [Music] [Music] fast and that fix is of course a set of Apex ec7 RS Wheels 19x 10 19x 12 tires that
Are way too big I love it I’m so happy how the car looks right now it looks that I can’t even say nothing about it amazing we went from issues with the wheels being too slim to a whole bunch
Of different issues but we’ll work that out later all on apex’s website they have fitment guys for every car you can ever imagine including this guy right here of course I thoroughly read all that information and chose to ignore it completely as for the rear 325 3019 r888r they’re tall they’re
Wide they’re big but but they’re not unheard of there’s plenty of people who have got these to fit on the rear of these cars where we run into issues up here in the front the stock tire size
A 235 what most sane people run a 245 what I chose to run a 265 not only did we go a good bit wider we went like an inch taller than stock as well just to make it a complete headache the
Good news here it looks fing awesome the bad news is it’s going to take a lot of work to [Music] fit that should be all that’s about all we have if we want to accomplish this we’re pretty much
Going to have to make custom Fender liners and trim the radiator bracket at least that side actually does make a full lock turn even if it’s rubbing something but when we get over here to the other side it’s a little bit of a different story today we learned that this
Radiator bracket is bent pretty severely go ahead and turn it to the right please that’s all we got it’s going to be nearly impossible to show on camera but that radiator bracket sits about an inch further back compared to the right hand side as far as the way they look though I mean
How can you beat this 250% agree about it 100% definitely right now she Ain going nowhere and when you say it’s not going anywhere you mean that quite literally correct exactly well you can spin it harder than that you sure being that the driver side is kind of all jacked up it has
Some good positive camber it actually spins it spins pretty nicely this guy over here sits up against the Shu it won’t move an inch the car won’t roll nothing the only fix to that of course
Of course Rovers being that this car has to go to paint in 2 days I had to overnight them so I guess tomorrow we’re going to be installing a set of Bill steens as well on that note I guess
The flare job is pretty much done the rest is going to revolve around him making this front piece fit and pulling that Fender out wide enough to get over those Wheels Fernando you want to dive back in the crate turned workbench and surprise us with something fun sure oh they got to love
This you guys follow the 997 platform you know what you’re looking at here I’m sure most of you guys have at some point seen a set of GT2 style side vents they’re carbon they don’t have the
Slit in the middle like the 997 turbos do you see it fairly often a lot of people make them they’re kind of all over the place what sets these ones apart however these guys are OEM
Porsche that’s right OEM 997 GT2 side ducks look at this Carbon on the back Fernando I know you appreciate that insane I actually acquired these from a viewer along with a ton of other GT2 Parts
On the rareness scale I guess I’ll give these guys like a eight 7.5 you can still get these from Porsche though they’re going to set you back five grand I’m going to go ahead and take these
Mounting clips out just to test fit it there is no good reason to secure these things in until the card’s done being painted but of course we have to test it and we have to see how it looks Excuse me while I get the clip that I just shot under the car there
Is one very obvious thing we’re going to have to do here are you a professional Porsche Tech now do I look like a professional Porsche Tech you tell me Buddy keep in mind this will whiz through this in no time flat if you’re using a tool that is way too powerful for this just take your time just do what I did make sure you don’t cut through the back side of it that way even if you’re using
The complete wrong tool you still have a nice finished product at the end flawless I was not sold on this look I almost prefer the split design but when somebody reached
Out and said hey I have a bunch of OEM GT2 carbon stuff do you want to buy it right got me you got me bud all right not only do I really appreciate you guys watching but I also appreciate you guys
Reaching out when you have something cool and rare to sell for a reference guys this is what the factory ones look like that’s what we’re working with now let me know what you guys think in the comments traditionally I’ve been a bigger fan of the split one like this but as
I said I can’t resist carbon and I can’t resist buying cool stuff I’m split but you know I like rare cool I’m H Jesus Christ it’s so faded so that is a very good point this we got to do something
With that whether we either replace it whether we kind of put some dressing on it to make it actually gloss black if that’s possible when this was there you couldn’t really tell well you can
Now all right Fernando we checked one more off the list hit us with some more heat out of the crate go I’m a little bit concerned about this I don’t like that I see your reason for concern so
We get all excited about the rare carbon fiber stuff I’m kind of disagree about this okay not everything can be some wild rare carbon piece this is a little more subtle once again we have some OEM GT2 Parts these guys here not particularly expensive not even particularly rare but I still
Think they’re going to be a nice little touch this is going to be very very subtle but what’s the different like the Gap right here yes so this one if you see there kicks out a little
Bit it looks ever so slightly more aggressive is it worth it that’s a good question would it help my case if I told you from Porsche they’re about $900 I paid $450 and they’re brand new oh okay
So worth it I think right one bonus of getting new Sid skirts even if they don’t look super super different these ones they’re just faded nasty and kind of just not that great looking
At the very least we’re going to have a fresh new set of s skirts to match a fresh new paint job wouldn’t you see these skirts from the front or the back they’re really really subtle if you
Didn’t know what you were looking for you’d probably just think it was a stock side skirt however when I got a glimpse of it from the top up here it does jut out a little more it actually looks pretty cool it’s actually crazy hold most St can make big changes I agree with
That to be honest like since you follow the line for the trim of the front fenders and stuff then you fall over here changing this it’s actually really aggressive I like it a lot while these
Skirts definitely aren’t as wild as some of the other mods we’ve done in this video I think over time it’s going to be one of those mods that I’m really glad I went with all right it’s a new day
How you feeling this morning super happy I’m not why I didn’t sleep very well why we left these guys hanging with a part that really didn’t register on the Rarity scale those Sid skirts we didn’t give it an official rating but I’m thinking that was like a three on the Rarity
Scale and that’s not going to cut it for this video not at all I think we have to make up for it give him some true fire out of the crate you know what I’m talking about I don’t want to even
Know how much these things actually worth that’s a good question because truthfully I don’t know the answer these bad boys here are one of the parts that I’ve been most excited about this entire time you might be asking yourself why because they’re very clearly damaged sticking
With the theme of this video These are OEM GT2 carbon mirror caps we’ve already establish the fact that you can buy those vents though they’re very expensive to the best of my knowledge you canot buy these I couldn’t find it for sale I couldn’t find any price comps whatsoever these
Actually came off a wrecked GT2 digging as deep as I can back on the forums Ren lless 6 Feed online all the popular places where people used to sell parts eBay history every single platform I can
Think to check I have not seen one of those sell a viewer of the channel had a buddy that wrecked the GT2 he had bought some of this stuff for his 997 Turbo eventually wanted to change directions
And sold it all to me because of the fact that these are basically unattainable I had no choice but to buy them regardless of if they were damaged or not fortunately the guy painting this car Tim
Hicks is a car carbon expert as well even the inside of these mirrors it’s kind of cracking these definitely are going to need a good bit of work I think it’s going to be well worth it on
The rareness scale I think these take the cake for the video I’m giving them an 11 out of 10 I know I know it’s hot being that they need extensive work we’re not going to fully install into the
Car but I definitely want to pop those mirrors off and give them a nice test fit see how they look I think the carbon is actually a little heavier one of the weird scenarios in which we’re putting a GT2 part on the car and it’s actually going to increase
Weight these are definitely a little tricky to fit on here I’m going to chalk this up to user erir I can’t imagine the fitments anything but perfect being it’s an oem part H uhoh when I started to stick them together they didn’t really fit together too well then I stuck
The mirror glass in this one it’s close but that doesn’t fit so we got a bit of a problem if you look at this Mir over here it’s pretty ginormous you move over here to the other Factory 997 mirror
It looks much better it’s a lot more Sleek it’s a lot more narrow I honestly prefer the look of that mirror to the GT2 mirror it turns out unb notes to me they changed the mirrors for the 997.2 the GT2
Happens to be a 997.2 supposedly this was done to give a wider viewing angle out of the mirror something about us safety regulations I don’t know it doesn’t look as good either way it’s not going to fit fully install these we’re going to need a complete 997.2 mirror assembly well the car
Goes to paint tomorrow and we definitely don’t have one of those laying around so I think I’ve came up with a pretty solid plan I’m definitely not willing to give up on these mirrors what I’m
Going to do is have Tim fix these anyway at the same time I’m also going to have him paint these 997.1 mirrors to match the car fresh out of paint we’ll go ahead and roll with the 997.1 mirrors
We’ll get these fixed up stick these on the Shelf we’ll wait till we get a 997.2 here in the shop for parts once we have one of those come in or I find a decent deal on a set of used ones elsewhere
I’ll go ahead and assemble those mirrors and pop them on the car then for the time being they’re going to have to go into the Box O junk that we’re sending up to Industry garage before we get into
The one really Oddball rare part that we have for this car why don’t we go ahead and cut this front bumper up a little bit give me something from the front bumper Fernando I I’m not ready for
That ooh this is fancy wow is this actually like a factory option that you can do the upgrade or no so this is a kit put together by Ren line I believe that vent right there is OEM Porsche I
Don’t think the mesh is this is also my first time ever taking this bumper off the car if you guys have been following the series from the beginning you know it was wrecked in the front end earlier
In its life but you know I’m sure it’s going to go great there definitely won’t be any kind of hidden damage waiting for us behind this bumper you know normally I would complain about connectors that
Are just zip tied together but on this car I feel like it’s kind of par for the course I don’t want to speak yet that radiator’s kind of has a nice little cut in it I’m not sure how I feel about that
But that’s not a big deal we’re looking for much more serious stuff overall not that bad I’m going to say I’m pleased we got to put it up in the air though one of the first things
I noticed when we got this car is that there was damaged on the lower tub this is a terrible fix I don’t know what the hell’s going on there other than that I can’t say I’m disappointed I’m not
Seeing anything that really makes me upset when we first inspected this car we thought at least that this was the worst of it and it kind of looks like that actually might be true I think I just kind of
Have to stop complaining about this car that’s all plastic Lo and repair it doesn’t look bad it looks like it was plastic lo I mean it it looks like it was done the way you’re supposed to do it but it
It’s longevity is known to not be very well well I guess we’re about to find out aren’t we very thorough two sets of instructions here B of them to assume I’m going to actually read one [Music] but
Got to give credit where credit is due this is a really nice piece it made cutting that in super super easy and I have all the reason to believe it’s actually going to be in the right place tough [ __ ] duh so we are pretty much perfect we have eighth of an inch variants
Either way but it slides slightly more than that I’ve been pretty hyped on this k for a little bit now and I just don’t think I can resist Loosely hanging it on the car you know what I’m not even going to sweat what just happened because this looks awesome
It’s absolutely everything I wanted when I bought that vent kit and just the last couple days I think this car has came so so far and I honestly think it looks amazing I’m really curious to see
What you guys think about it are we taking it too far is it too aggressive did we ruin a 911 turbo or are you one of the ones who’s all for what’s happening behind me me right now I think even if
You’re not once you see the end product you might come around just maybe either way at this point I’ve bashed my head in mentally and physically today and we’re still not done we have to actually make this thing roll I’m pretty optimistic these guys right here are going to fix us right up
Guys it took significantly longer and I do mean significantly longer than I expected but it did the job it is well after midnight we have to be here bright and early so we can take this car up to Industry garage which is probably why you’re asking yourself why are you still working
On it I’m honestly not sure either but there is one more part in this crate and I’m definitely not going to not put it on is this next part actually functional probably not is it doing anything more than adding a couple pounds to the car also probably no but when you find a
Used part with the name gombala on the front for a decent deal you just can’t say no if you happen to be unfamiliar with the crazy story of gimbal I highly recommend going to check out the video donut media did it’s a very fun watch it’ll tell you the story way better than
I can while he was doing his thing smuggling he definitely built some badass cars and I’m really excited to have got my hands on a piece of what I consider at least Porsche history while this does
Look really awesome let’s be honest a strut bar is a strut bar is a strut bar we bought this for the name earlier in the video I said something was missing from the crate there’s supposed to be one more extremely extremely rare part in there it’s not there instead we got This [Music] I know I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time it’s finally here the 911 Turbo at Tims industry garage Street Bandido on YouTube how have you been good here we’ve been talking
About this for a while yeah well you’re waiting on parts for a long time and unfortunately you got the roof in it looks good I think this is the only test this car is actually going to pass
Pretty well all the D stuff all the damage stuff we already pulled off of it that’s good makes my job a little easier a lot of times with fiberglass Parts especially parts that are multi-piece like
This is like an inside and outside sh a lot of these sections will have air bubbles in them so you go and paint them and then you bake it or like a year later or once bunch of heat from the
Engine is uh put into it it’ll pop like little air boids interesting good to know see I’m glad you know this stuff cuz I have just sprayed the thing and left it on the car and we’d be in bad
Shape 6 months from now I’ll B it in that oven and get it to like 200 I don’t know what kind of oven that is but it looks serious handmade oven today’s the day we learn if you’re able to
Actually work on this bumper that’s in pretty bad shape doesn’t look terrible that’s the worst of it right now yeah it’s never really a question of if you can work on it like is it worth sure
Putting in the time of this versus like buying another one if there’s any cracking just on a regular like normal wear and tear section I get a little worried about like the paint underneath it you don’t want to paint it and then like have the paint underneath it give off and then makes
Sense you have a pocket of like water that gets in there pops it off air well you have a while to decide on that so let me know what you want to do with that and uh if you say hey I don’t
Want to mess with this piece of junk I will order a Euro bumper last and most important question I heard you have the color swatch as well I do I need to see it this is actually my first
Time seeing this color in person I’m jacked about it something on the camera let’s see it I don’t know I’m digging it the same after seeing that next to the car like that this is all actually becoming real at this point yeah I think we’re in the right place it’s a sick model
3 it’s not the right shape well it is carbon fiber it’s just not that carbon fiber I don’t see it over there it’s a lot of expensive looking crates though I’ve checked there there all the way around there that only leaves one
Place son of a that’s what we’re looking for before it might have been by the dumpster but it still feels like Christmas morning I cannot lie so I get it I guess with these Dimensions it wasn’t going to fit in the crate check it
Out I don’t know why they left it by the dumpster but we’ll talk about that another day if you don’t know what you’re looking at it’s an oem 997 GT2 carbon hood you saw the Ducks you saw the mirrors this is the final piece of the puzzle I’m honestly
Not a big carbon guy but look at this how can you argue with OEM quality when I was offered this along with those other parts for a smoking deal I just couldn’t help myself I really could not because if you’re not aware here’s a look at what this costs
New yeah that wasn’t going to happen these hoods are matte from the factory but this one also has a little bit of matte ppfs one of my absolute favorite Parts about this Hood instead of the metal Porsche badge like all the normal cars have this one’s an inlaid sticker it looks a
Little goofy because of the ppf but trust me it’s awesome now the only existing problem we have here is I don’t have a way to get this home so we’re going to have to figure that out but I
Guess Minor Details at least we have the piece in hand at this point and that couldn’t be more excited even though it took us all day we probably would have found it a lot faster if we didn’t get
Sidetracked over there all day but I had a ton of fun driving the new 992 turbo and the new GT3 but I suppose it’s time we see if this gets in the old trusty rental there and get on our way like a
Glove it might be a little awkward carrying this thing back into the hotel tell but Porsche life baby howdy [Music] oh I like that me too I like that this has been a minute I kind of like how
Much you WRA this thing I mean we had to right yeah it’s a long trip a long trip in expensive and warmth importantly kind of Irreplaceable part look all these bubbles up yeah we had to buy this at Home Depot so this isn’t that wholesale bubble wrap either this is that
Premium we paid like 50 bucks a roll bubble wrap looks good to me it looks really good oh look at this is this actually solid solid carbage this isn’t that fiberglass overlay type stuff that
Is solid carbon Baby D as quick as it was wrapped it goes back in the blanket well now that that’s a wrap see what I did there we got the glass loaded up one piece in my truck one piece of Fernando’s
Truck what do you say we get back to Industry garage I can wait well I do have one more stop first the last piece of the puzzle special order straight from Germany a eurospec 997 Turbo rear bumper my bumper had a little too much existing bodyw work so we upgraded to
The eurospec dropped the bumperettes and I think this is going to set the re of the car off perfectly there’s no more parts to pick up we’re not waiting on anything it’s time to finally see this color in person for the very first time and Fernando I’m
Nervous what if we don’t like this color like I’ve been planning on this for a long time there’s a lot that’s went into this if it doesn’t look good that’s going to be a problem oh they have to stay outside sorry I’m not ready for it 10 before
I I could see it I give give me one to 10 right now 1 to 10 yeah 11 it looks so good I mean there’s I don’t have words no no words with [Music] [Applause] [Music] me
[Music] do I look excited today yes I have to look good I’ve been in a good mood all day we’re dropping some other stuff off for the paint for a Corvette it’s just a good day all around we didn’t come with just vet stuff we got some Porsche goodies
Too it looks ridiculous really ridiculous it looks black wait looks like we didn’t even paint it to be quite honest really show it’s time just show them there’s the big reveal it’s still black it’s cam how many of you think are let down Fernando
Like 99% they like we did all these color poles and it’s just black there’s a little more going on here right look at that wow look at this thing look at this oh wow my God are you sure this is
The sand car some of you guys might already know what you’re looking at here but this is Viola metallic it’s a color that originally came on and don’t quote me on this like 99 to 2000 boxers at
The end it came down to three colors it was this right here Viola metallic and two very bright colors one being pastel orange two being signal green as time went on the more I looked at
Bright color turbos I just couldn’t do it I think the bright colors really only work on the GT cars I mean full GT Bodywork so at the end of the day I had to go with a subdued color and I have to
Say I could not be more happy with it I don’t even know what to say I genu ask for like it’s 10 of 10 right now it really is it’s absolutely perfect I personally still can’t believe he got
These guys to fit he did pull them out a good bit but it certainly doesn’t look awkward we do have a few more parts that once we get back to the shop are going to assist in making them
Fit even better but oh my God just just look at this the sure started now we still have work to do on that front fortunately we can get started on that work really soon but we’ll talk about
That at the end of the video this is my favorite detail of the whole car he stuck a nice sheet of carbon on the top of this spoiler and I think it’s perfect I’ve said this 100 times I’m not
Even a big carbon fiber fan how this car ended up covered in carbon fiber I don’t really know but here we are this the 5 minutes and you’re already working on the car I have to you saw what happened
Last episode right wow in fact I got a little bit of uh brain head damage when that aluminum Hood came down and hit me it actually got so bad for a while that I bought a Dodge fortunately for
Us we have the Cure Ren line mechanical Hood dampers these are not going to fail these are up they’re good you don’t have to worry about them not only are they carbon and pretty cool looking they’re pretty cheap and they’re going to make sure I don’t get smashed in the head by
Another Hood honestly This Hood I value more than my head being that it’s so expensive so I really want to make sure this Hood stays in good shape oh yeah that’s locked in place I’m not getting
Bashed in the head anymore Ren line Hood dampers highly recommend that is unless you want to get hit in the head and also buy a Dodge which I do not recommend now one thing I’m going to have you
Help me do these guys oh okay he’s really good at Carbon really good at painting really bad at taking these things off he just shattered them so we got to put some new ones on I did keep all
The old pieces it is literally in 1 th000 pieces it’s probably because he gets so frustrated to be working on this guy like I just want to break something look how much 3M tape is on the back and
The plastic ones as soon as you start pulling them up they just crack it I didn’t even realize those are full metal these are junky old plastic yeah these are brittle no lie it’s nice they have like
A little Notch that helps you line it up it’s going to be weird to actually be like cautious with this car now like I’ve just been like running into it scratching it not caring whatsoever I have
To pay attention now this isn’t good do you actually want to lift it with the forlift now absolutely not no way no no no no no I need you to explain this here in much more detail because
I probably did a really bad job of it earlier to keep with the you know carbon hood carbon roof to the top of it so all I did was wrap the top of it in a single sheet of carbon fiber I used
A poly resin which is what most carbon I mean uh fiberglass stuff is made out of I did a v weave make it a little fancy glossed over it then we just painted The Edge luk awesome so from the
Side it looks you know purple with everything else it’s an awesome touch and especially in low light like this the car genuinely does look black why I like gloss finish on the carbon the car looks black and the roof looks black it does being that it’s getting dark as much as
I want to sit around here and talk about this car all day we got to get it loaded up on the trailer car sounds great doesn’t [Music] [Applause] it [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] now you might be wondering why there’s not a front bumper on
It we found one crack in the paint I think it has something to do with the fact that there was all that old paint underneath of it so Tim’s going to keep it here get that to us
In about a week and that way we can stick it back on the car how going to let me get the car first or what P just Sav my favorite reaction so far he was like did didn’t paint it it’s black again it really does look black doesn’t it this lighting probably
Too all right good you’re not going to hit well she’s home now we got to get her inside under the good light so we can actually hopefully finally see this color you’re doing the morning workout that’s not much of a workout man this is a really like easy rolling
Car right about there it’s good there we go yeah now it looks sick now this looks awesome look at this combo like that’s why I’m saying they have to be glove yeah I’m saying gloss yeah in here
Gloss looks better so in the sun gloss when it’s like dark out or yeah you know when it’s cloudy like this think Matt looks better we’ll figure it out we’ll figure it out at some point maybe
Or maybe we won’t I don’t know yet now that this thing is inside this is the first really good look I’ve had at it in this paint I I don’t know what to say it’s just awesome I’m so nervous
Right now I’m so nervous it’s not clipped all the way in there but that’s basically what it’s going to look like when it gets clipped in it’s held much more tightly wow looks awesome yeah looks Dusty now that the car is actually painted and freshed that sticks out like a sore thumb
Especially because there’s Compound on it well now that it’s back home I suppose there’s not much more to do other than get to work I think the first thing I want to do is stick those GT2 side
Skirts on and see if they actually look good now the car is fully assembled and somewhat complete at least some idiot stuck the clip in backwards I don’t know who would have done that the last time we were messing with this oh you scratch it shut that’s like the fifth time today he’s
Made this joke I haven’t scratched it yet what is it called the color the put on niss sense like midnight purple midnight Pur this angle looks like that no that’s a better color no this is a better color than midnight purple 100% and the poor guys watching will back me
Up midnight purple looks like weirdly like yellow and green and some lights this is a here we go he hasn’t said anything all day about it no I was actually coming over to agree I don’t like the
Green and midnight purple so I actually I do I do agree that this is a better color okay well there there’s the first nice Porsche thing he’s ever said so oh no no no I was just talking about the
Color it’s not about the car at all it’s just the color it is a Porsche color though it’s an official Porsche color what do you guys think I was kind of unsold On It originally I’m digging
It I like it a lot Unfortunately they did get a couple scratches on them I can’t imagine how that would have happened as they sat around the shop for the past 2 months maybe falling over
Once or twice the one big thing that’s bugging me now is the fact that in here this is still faded we got to do something about that and we got to do something about that quick now I think it’s time to change directions completely there’s one loose in hanging around from the roll
Cage and seat installation video look at this and in case you didn’t see that video roll the clip this is not only wet Fernando that looks like mold to me now we have to to fit this past the roll cage it literally just popped into my head like oh we’ll just pop
The hatch up that wasn’t a hatch we were working through it just didn’t have rear glass in it this is not going to be fun I can barely get it into the door you know [Music] what [ __ ] this car check that out o quality OEM GT3 not even expensive that cost us like3
$150 it’s amazing when you get a piece like that in and it just finishes it and you kind of can’t even Envision the total product until you see it all exactly that’s exactly what I would describe
This as it looked like a bare empty car before this and now it looks like well something and now that I’ve had my afternoon to be completely in awe of this thing it’s time to actually start getting it back together first things first the third break light you guys will see more about
What went into this when Tim releases his video on painting the car but if you look inside there you can see see that this trunk has been reinforced a little bit being that this is a replica trunk
They have issues when they get hot where this will expand and there’ll be a gap in the third brake light on this trunk unlike the stock one there’s no way to access the prongs on the side of the
Third brake light on the factory trunk you can get in there hit these guys down and it pops right out on this one I am pretty certain that once it goes in it’s not coming back out so one we have to make
Sure it goes in the right way the first time and two we have to test it before we put it in this is going to be our first opportunity to use our freshly depinned trunk wiring harness the factory
Turbo harness had another four or five wires in it for the trunk Hydraulics for the height sensor on the wing fortunately we need none of that so we depended it made it nice and simple now if everything goes smoothly we’re going to plug this in and the brake light will function
As it should the alternative of course being we find out we have some burned LEDs and we have to go hunt down a brake light there we go okay hey they all work they all light up
Perfectly all right great shut her down before we stick this brake light in for the last time we get the fish said new wiring harness I’m sorry modified wiring harness up through this trunk just a little bit scary but we got room to get all our harnesses through there we did
In a previous episode have to drill pretty much everything on this trunk that’s just one thing I overlooked we’ll worry about the service light later right now we’re just after this third brake light when I somewhat test fit this previously before the car was painted
It didn’t want to sit that well in there once again I couldn’t put it all the way in because I was scared I wouldn’t be able to get it out let’s see how she wants to fit though so close do we just push it in or do we let’s push it
In the good news that’s not coming out that’s snapped in there good now keep in mind it is a replica trunk so I have no room to complain this whole trunk was about $11,000 very very
Reasonable if you haven’t heard me say it in one of my other videos an O Arrow kit trunk about 8 Grand assuming you can find one you see right there this bottom lip just sticks out a little
Bit it’s not perfect it’s not square but honestly guys the whole package for the price considered I’m super happy with it add in that little bit of bonus carbon fiber on the top and I think we have
A 10 out of 10 looking trunk we’re finally back in here after a day off and for the first time in almost 4 days it’s sunny outside and yes that does mean exactly what you think it means at the
End of today when we’re done doing this little bit of work we have to knock out we’re pushing it outside and finally getting a look at this paint in the Sun and that all sounds fine and dandy but
Before that we have some really really tedious stuff to do including everything back there if you look behind our beautiful roll cage there you see a lot of bare metal we have to change that back there where that yellow painters tape is that’s the front two bolts for this p panel
Right here so somehow we have to wedge ourselves pass that cage through the cage around the cage I don’t know and get all those panels on get everything back there set exactly how we’re
Going to leave it permanently not only that we have to do the seat belts we also have to do the rear struts today when we were rushing around trying to get this car to paint you guys may
Remember we just did the front billen the rear of this car it’s not only sitting High because it doesn’t have a drivetrain in it but it still has stock struts as well our beautiful Bill Ste have been relegated to the miscellaneous hardware box today that Chang Es at the end of today this
Car is going to be in a much more complete State and therefore being much closer to being back on the road which is good because we just got a very very long awaited call from our guys in
New Jersey I can’t help but feel like I should have the fire department on speed dial but let’s go for it everything’s going great guys I can’t tell which way my arm is right now but it’s going
Good you may be questioning why I didn’t put this cage in later I’m also questioning that next up on the list of stuff that’s going to ruin our day here the struts we may not have done everything in the right order on this car but rest assured we’re doing it
So to add to the fun of the day we also have the joy of working on this car on jack stands because of the fact that we need to constantly be slinking and contorting ourselves in and out of this car we
Don’t get to put it on the lift because while the doors can’t open like that stupid wheel bolts so dumb now we get the luxury of getting rid of these nasty disgusting stock rear shocks and putting some beautiful coil overage back on this car I am curious to
Hear what you guys think about getting rid of the electronic shocks I’m making a big mistake here or is uh you know continuing to simplify this car the right call check her out four five 6 Seven 8 nine 10 we are fully soft at the current moment
Make sure unlike me if you’re doing this you don’t forget the washer off the stock strut you know the channel motto Safety First pretty much the same deal as the front one Whatever slides over the threaded part of the strut right here has a little alignment Notch I guess it’s
For the electronic suspension when you switch to these bills you got to grind it off 9 mm around the strut 19 mm on the nuts and pray for the best should be about good we are going to turn it back and go to
Setting say four just medium soft two three cool boom we’re ready for install I hope you guys are enjoying the view of the car we’re struggling but at least the car looks good right down oh yeah it wasn’t that bad check her out
Fresh new coilovers there looking much better than the stock junk that we had on it there’s definitely a lot more we need to address in the suspension but that’s a story for another day for now we need to get that giant mess back there finished
Up love the Apex Wheels one thing I might like even more it’s the Apex wheel stud set I just bought can’t wait to install that in never touch a wheel bolt again in my
Life final box score for this install 87 fcks six CS 18 godam it and five [ __ ] this cars were we successful in what we set out to do the answer to that question is yes everything back there is
Fully complete that’s where the good news ends because it took us 10 hours 10 hours you heard that right and if that doesn’t give it away well it’s pitch black outside the actual process of installing those panels back there way easier than I thought it was going to be where we ran into
Trouble was the fact that this was pretty much the first final assembly of a portion of this car we’re back at the legendary a performance I’m not going to waste any more time we’re not doing any
Talking outside this time that’s what we’re after right there ran it’s been a while been a minute it looks like you’ve been busy though look at this thing wow he dressed up so when you tore this down originally everyone said they really enjoyed hearing from a professional instead of idiots
Like Austin and I so if you would give us the run down here so this is our built motor package it’s got our uh a rods in it uh stock Pistons uh ring Gap to uh arpack uh ported heads uh cams uh and
Then our turbo kit with our waterline system and stuff on it and what turbos are these I know we basically discussed power goals I knew I was going Garrett with it but I didn’t actually decide what
Turbo it was I just told Joe to just pick one for me gave him the power goals hopefully he picked a good one we picked a G30 770s that’s a hot hot setup right there perfect Street turbo perfect
Street turbo great manners it’s just got you know it doesn’t come on like a light switch where the car wants to break tires it comes on very very nice uh huge power curve tons of torque just a perfect setup the way should have been from the factory definitely a little bit smaller than
The turbos we’re used to good news is there two of them so I think we’ll make enough power to be just fine and speaking of power I’m going to put you on the spot what are we making on the dino when it
Finally makes it here I I don’t see no reason why I can’t make a th a th000 at the tire how can you argue with that I know when I originally bought this car I said I don’t want 1,000 horsepower
Problems but from what I understand from what I’ve been told from Aim and from you guys you can make 1,000 horsepower in these cars when it’s well done and it’s not going to be unreliable it’s going to
Be a good drivable th000 horsepower as weird as that is to say one thing I noticed right off the hit we got some filters on the end of the turbos now no more intakes no more intakes cuz if you try
To run those uh uh up pipes or whatever you call it Inlet pipes from uh those manufacturers that these big Turbo will start to actually collapse it and it won’t it won’t be able to breathe through
There so it’s like you trying to suck through a straw and it just won’t breathe got our waste Gates down there got those beautiful manifolds that I’m sure I’ll get a better look at once we actually put it in the car nice clutch setup and refresh my memory which clutch setup is this
I think it’s protomotive it’s a kind of mismatch of aftermarket parts OEM Parts yes it’s a a Proto clutch with uh their Center and like their disc with like GT3 flywheel I forgot exactly the odor
But it’s like a bunch of M mismatch some OEM some aftermarket it works works hold power yeah one other thing I noticed here this might have been a source of pain for us in the past but no longer
Both our oil coolers there brand new shiny if that’s where that intermix was coming from we no longer have to worry about that so in this build I pretty much gave them my goals and gave them free
Reain to do what they please give me their usual recipe that’s obviously very very proven one thing I did not expect to see however this guy right here HKS I thought this was like Supra stuff this
Is JDM stuff oh man they make a really good boost controller yeah I guess I’m going to feel like it’s 1995 again with the HKS boost controller only difference is this one it’s not that big ugly box
That you remember this actually looks pretty good being that this giant mess is now fully assembled it’s really really hard to see but we have those beautiful shark Works fittings in there and one of the best things about this whole turbo kit setup look at these coolant lines the oil lines
Everything this is is one thing that when I’m doing builds I absolutely hate doing so to show up and have a line kit just already made not have to worry about that A+ this box here I’ll see it
Still laying around ID 1700 as cool as this thing looks from the outside it’s even more impressive on the inside you said there’s some head work done as well we did ported heads we did a bunch of
Stuff yeah the ported heads the cam combo is like Cam’s combo now talk C combo it just really wakes up the motor you don’t have to really lean on the motor with Boost to make the power we got the you
Know our our head gasket package or our our head bolt package that uh clamps everything together so uh obviously that one cylinder had some sort of mixing going on we could avoid all that now look
Look who just walked in check that thing out there you go there you go now not blue anymore not blue there’s still some blue on the inside so this is exactly what just happened here aftermarket crank pulley stop crank pulley the stock one when you’re getting into the higher RPM the
Higher power levels supposedly they can kick off that’s not something I wanted to experience this guy here that’s that’s the fix for that Joe pulled it out said it was $200 some dollars I figure why
Not just throw it on just protect ourselves there was only one problem it was blue with the color of this car being that nothing else is blue on it I could not have a blue crank pulley so Joe was
Nice enough to go sand blasted force and most importantly it’s not going to fly off at 7500 RPM all the talk about how the stock crank pul can come off apparently mine is the only one that doesn’t want to come
Off red lock in there yeah that’ll do it huh oh yeah I know it’s for safety and all but like the 16-year-old X Honda builder in me really likes the fact that I have a underdrive pullet on here now
Now we didn’t come to just pick up the engine today we actually have a lot going on we’re having a couple parts modify we’re even leaving a couple parts here because we worked out a little
Bit of a trade deal one thing we’re going to have the guys here do is Mount the existing transmission to the engine we’re also going to do the GT2 slave cylinder conversion so they’re going to modify the transfer that by the time we leave here today this is going to be one massive
Assembly on the pallet pretty much ready to go back in the car and now you might be wondering what this big dumb transmission is next to it well this is a 991 turbo transmission most of you probably already know this semi- recently we got a destroyed 991 turbo into the shop turns out
They go through a ton of these Transmissions here they build them all the time they need a course so I was able to work a deal with them to get them a transmission they need and of course knock a
Couple bucks off our total bill now as for the stock turbo slave cylinder it’s a massive big dumb asem it’s way over complicated it attaches right here on the side of the transmission and it’s a really really popular mod to just ditch it it also happens that the turbo transmission is
Actually already provisioned for the GT2 slave cylinder you just have to drill and tap a few holes after that you just add a couple studs and that’ll let the GT2 slave cylinder bolt right on next up on the modification list was our do88 ype we yet to account for blowoff Val on this
Build so we bought a couple turbo smarts from Aim they added the proper bungs to it and we were left with a beautiful y pipe ready to rep powder coat and stickle on the car one of the last remaining
Unsettled portions of the build was the exhaust I really didn’t have a clue what I was going to do with it so when I came in here today and saw this titanium straight pipe Beauty lay in here you
Know I had to ask about it and it turns out we’re leaving with it it is only about 80% done we still need the down pipes they’re going to finish that up in a couple days and ship it right down to the
Shop and if you’re looking at this and thinking hey that looks pretty light 11 it’s not out s that’s going to be like going to be like 6 and let’s see what do we have 4.8 lb but it doesn’t
Have the down pipes on it what are we working with when it’s fully loaded I’m going to say 78 lb looking good I don’t hear anything quiet as a mouse this is what we’re left with a beautiful pretty much ready to go back in thear drivetrain
I could not be more thrilled about it’s officially go time let’s get this poor Porsche back on the road next up a task that I am less than thrilled to be doing reassembling the mirrors a bunch of small parts freshly painted surfaces what could possibly go wrong this is basically
The same thing as doing surgery and being that I only dropped six or seven screws if this in fact were a routine surgery the person may have even lived I got to say guys this as much as I really
Wanted to have those carbon GT2 mirrors ready and done for when we were reassembling the car I’ve yet to be able to Source a set of 997.2 donor mirrors and I’m kind of digging these purple ones I’m keeping my eyes out because we definitely are going to throw them on the
Car at some point but for now I’m pretty happy with these and now that we have that task out of the way it’s time to move on to something that I’m even less excited about you might be able to tell that wheel she’s not sitting real straight here’s what you guys saw last
Episode and over here on this side well this is what you didn’t see go piece of [ __ ] mother stupid car I feel like it should go without saying but this passenger side it didn’t go
Nearly as smooth as the drivers did we were able to get it out eventually sort of the problem we have here is it took the steel bushing that goes in the upright with it the tow arm it’s jacked I’m not worried about that what we do need to salvage though is that bushing
Cuz otherwise we’re going to need ourselves a new upright and and I don’t have money for [Applause] it you okay I’m de sit right there I’ve Had The Misfortune of putting heat to a lot of suspension parts that is a first though learn from my mistakes that ball joint
Just blew out truthfully guys that could have went pretty bad luckily it did not so if you’re also trying to get a stuck bushing whatever off a control arm just remember this moment well if you guys can’t tell this is absolutely whooping me usually a lot
Of heat will get it done I tried a lot a lot of heat followed by ice cold water from for a temperature change effect nothing’s working I have one more idea this thing has got Beyond hot and that leaves only one other option and that’s
Pressure did it go [ __ ] yes yes yes it was absolutely no fun whatsoever but in the end we got the job done and this is what we’re left with one very very trash control arm which I
Think will’ll go ahead and hang on the wall of Shame one very heat treated mushroomed and cut off piece of ball joint and this piece right here which is the bushing we needed all along which I really hope still goes back into the Hub considering how much heat it’s got assuming it
Does go back into the Hub that’s going to let us install these guys 997.2 GT3 cup rear tow arms 911 Turbo 997.1 point3 SL RS turbo I genuinely do not know what you’re talking about the said with porches I never know what you’re talking about 997.1 99 just numbers come on [Music]
Man there we are good to go it pulled right back in just how we needed it to now we can finally and I do mean finally get on with this [Music] install like [Music] B there we have it 997.2 GT3 cup control arms fully installed the driver
Side went perfectly the passenger side that did not but a 60% ratio I will take that 90% of the time I don’t really want to to a porch but you make me do this I mean a professional’s got to
Do it I can’t do it I can’t do it it would be all over the court Spain job you know what I me it’s a lot of pressure on me well don’t touch the [ __ ] paint job then Fernando don’t hit
The paint keep that rolling when I break this thing oh good perfect now the other day I hit this side was something that I thought might work it’s polished headlights for me before it definitely did not so Fernando this is in your hands so this is not a finish you’re not
Trying to restore that you’re effectively painting it kind of we’re just going to let it sit for a little bit dry and see how actually works if we have to clean it up and go a little bit deeper we’re going to do that but sounds like a good plan look at all that
Dirt coming out or the stuff you can see behind it that looks amazing amazing check that out it doesn’t look like super tiny but at the same time you know I mean it’s the lighting in here as well I think outside under natural light when it’s not blazing down LED lights on it
That’s going to look awesome way better than what it was that looks so good it was pretty much disgusting before weathered nasty and just in general not that good looking so now that we got that knocked out now that we’ve installed those rear tow arms as well it’s time to bust
Out some brand new control arms for the front of the car and lucky for us that’s not all we have up here the only thing you need to pull off period to make room for this lower control armor about to install is this forward facing arm it’s the arm that your brake cooler
Duct air baffle whatever you want to call us attaches to hopefully if you have one one of these it’s not broken like mine and of course as is standard on this car we found the b control
Arm it’s pretty obvious even to the naked eye that the passenger side here is up and suede pretty good to the left side imagine that we need to order more parts for this piece of junk and here’s our not so beautiful set of stock front lower control arms
They’re pretty ratty you can see they’ve been scraped up a little before and given the suspension damage we’ve seen on the rest of this car I wouldn’t even be positive that they’re straight but most importantly they’re not adjustable fortunately for
Us we have the perfect solution to that that’s going to give us a ton more camber adjustability while we could sit here all night and talk about how awesome these GT3 style front control arms by Ren line look I think that’s pretty obvious already so let’s talk about
What they can do for us when paired with these spacers right here as we sit right now these two control arms are exactly the same length but this one does that it’s a really simple design it’s
The same thing all the GT cars run and if you can’t see where this is going already there’s a very good reason for that we’re going to be able to take this fine assortment of shims we
Have here and On Demand be able to change our cambera settings from the bottom of the car we ordered every space over in line has 1 mm 4 mm 10 mm it’s super simple the bigger the spacer we
Put in here the longer this arm’s going to be what that’s going to do is kick the bottom of this Hub out therefore the bottom of the wheel out and most importantly for our tire fitment
Dilemma the top part of the wheel it’s going that way until we get this thing done and actually on an alignment rack we’re going to shoot dead in the center at 5 mm that’s the one and the four
One thing that I did inadvertently Overlook that Ren line also makes and I just went and ordered is this guy right here the stock suspension ride hype bracket these stock control arms are super thin there’s just a hole drilled in the center it mounts with a push pin it’s a plastic bracket easy
As you can tell these guys here are much beefier there’s no pre-drilled hole in fact where that needs to be oops in fact where that needs to be there’s not even a provision for it how Ren line
Remedy that is there’s another bracket that’s very very thin just like this and it has a welded piece that comes off the side that’s going to allow us to attach that ride height sensor we’re going to
Go ahead and stick these 10 mil spacers back in here for later down the road in case we want that super hot boy stance we do have one more spacer we have to account for here these guys are based
Off 996 GT3 control arms on the stock arm right here where the thrust arm mounts it’s really really thick not so much over here on our new arm so we have to take these guys here put one on the
Top one on the bottom and then we’re going to be good to go well technically we won’t be good to go until we get these aftermarket thrust arms in but you know you understand what I was trying to
Say Well that took all 2 minutes to install super super easy adjustment while it’s in the car we have a grease fitting on our actual cool ball joint now super nice part awesome price easy to install can’t really ask for anything more now that we got that locked
Up we can get rid of one other thing that I’ve hated since day one on this car it’s these guys right here these stupid [ __ ] wheel bolts thankfully the time has come to get rid of those junkers and stick these guys in a wheel stud set from Apex race
Parts you know the same company we got those awesome wheels from but before we can actually thread those in we get to do one of my most satisfying things on a car chase these threads for me there’s just something about tapping an old dirty hole getting
It cleaned up and ready to go for a new stud just no better feeling now I’m not normally a torque wrench kind of guy but the last thing we want is for one of these guys to not be a nice properly tight fit and have an accident down the road so just for
Today I figured we’d use a little protection now as much fun as that was we’re not done tapping the holes yet these guys right here the the brake caliper bolts threading stuff over and over into
An aluminum housing no bueno in my opinion so yet again we’re swapping out a factory set of bolts for a set of nice new studs in this case a set made by tret engineering these guys are the exact
Same things you’re going to find on the cup cars and it’s going to let us pull those brake calibers on and off as many times as we want without risk of damaging those uprights in the interest of uh
Full disclosure I’ve been known across a thread or two so this is a mod I couldn’t resist let’s just call it uh Insurance these guys here are definitely a tighter hole than the wheel bolts
Were M14 by 1.5 m12x 1.5 to be exact look at all that junk coming out of there that’s exactly why I’m thrilled to be doing this I have no idea how many times those calipers have been off there but anytime you’re repeatedly bolting something into an aluminum housing it’s a recipe for
Disaster on this one we’re not using a torque wrench we’re just going for it I believe there’s a term for this though it’s not coming to me off the top of my head yet again another really
Easy install and I think in the end we’re left with a much more serviceable car anything that we need to take off for wear items at the track whether it be the wheel whether it be the brake
Caler we can now do so without fear of screwing something up we’re going to save these caliper bolts as spares but as for these guys here now as far as the suspension on this car goes
That’s pretty much it I think this is how we’re going to leave it till it’s time to yes this is a Dodge Demon starter don’t ask why I think that’s pretty much how we’re going to leave it
Until the car is on the road SL on the track SL alignment the only cave out there is if we find something else damaged which as you guys know by now I would not rule out though we have the
Suspension wrapped up those you guys with a very keen eye might notice that we’re still missing a little something right around this general area some of you guys may also remember that way back when we sent the brake calipers out to be powder coated good news they’re back bad news we have
To reassemble them and that is so far down on my list of fun car things to do and while I’m not thrilled about actually having to take the time to rebuild these calipers one thing I am
Psyched about the color I know it’s kind of odd for brake calipers if and that is a big if I can actually keep these guys clean I think they’re going to look awesome with the white roll cage
Which you cannot see at the current moment when we took these brakes apart many many months ago it was a bunch of old just rusty dirty junk not much life left on them all the stuff needed to be
Thrown in the trash anyway what better time than now to switch to a bunch of nice new break parts go lines hul pads we did have to mix and match our seals because gyro disc didn’t have them all Lucky
For us we were able to find a stop Tech set that worked it was pretty much the same deal with the Pistons you see we have eight new Pistons here we only needed one if you look really closely
Right there this one single piston had a little bit of damage possibly from use possibly because the person who disassembled them got a little lazy didn’t know what they were doing I’m not going to speculate on which my original plan was of course to replace this one Factory BRBO
Piston but I was only able to find one of them in your up for like $100 after quite some time searching and Consulting people that know a lot better than I do we were able to Source a set
From stop Tech it’s a 34mm brake piston 32 mm I believe height from stoptech for their trophy calipers unlike the incredibly hard to find bmbo one we were able to get these for like 20 bucks
A pop in the US delivered next day and now that I’ve given you my little bit of caliper piston Insider information I suppose it’s about time to get these things assembled get them back on
The car and then I’ll share with you my about to be not so top secret life time break Rader [Music] [Music] hack after a pretty miserable time doing the rears and a slightly less miserable time doing
The fronts we have our new Pistons installed we’re pretty much good to go and now we get to slap these new pads in which if I have to say are a much nicer setup than the stock ones they
Have these weird aluminum things hanging off that pressed into those stock cylinders not going to work on these ones supposedly they’re just for sound dampening and one thing we’re not doing on this build is dampening sound they did pretty much the same thing on the fronts also they have
Ceramic tops to the Pistons from the factory they have these weird little pressin inserts that act as sound dampeners as well you have to wonder did Porsches engineer ever believe their design will be improved on by some idiot that owns a junkyard now we spent entirely too much time looking at
Just brake calipers today needless to say I’m excited to get back on the car and I’m even more excited to bust open these guys when I went to order brake parts from this car when I got to
Rotors I was kind of lost there’s tons of really expensive options out there two-piece rotors which are expensive for good reason I didn’t want to make that investment considering I may upgrade the carbon Ceramics later down the road after a lot and I do mean a lot lot of searching we settled on
These guys right here sebro 355 mm slotted rotors this is not right zro 350 mm rotors and as sick as these rotors look that’s not even the best part when I was searching for my perfect rotor I happen
To cross these on FCP euro.com and one little thing on their site caught my eye yep that little guy right there it also happens to be on the sheet that came in the box that I promptly crumbled up
By accident a lifetime replacement guarantee on a wear item like this on a car like this frankly it almost sounded too good to be true but I talked to him and it’s not we end up sticking a super
Aggressive pad on it at some point taking it to the track and destroying these rotors in a single session to get replaced we take her to a half mile event spend all day going Zer to 200 back
To zero very very quickly we screw these things up a little bit they get replaced we get old girl finished up and love it so much that we decide to put 60,000 mil on it next year we burn through a
Set of rotors you know the drill you know where this is going by now point being that unless we decide we really need to upgrade somewhere down the road this is the last set of rotors we’re ever
Going to have to buy for the car not only that but they carry a ton of OEM Porsche Parts BMW parts all the typical Euro stuff you know hints their name so next time I need OEM Parts I’m definitely
Going to give FCP Euro a look it’s the same pricing as the dealership except the parts have a lifetime replacement guarantee there are so few parts especially for a th000 horsepower car that have a lifetime replacement guarantee especially when it’s a wear part that I couldn’t pass it up
And well if you know how we treat cars around here we’re definitely going to put it to the test [Music] woo guys it took so much longer than I thought it was going to but we’re done sort of before we get into what went wrong let’s take one second and appreciate these guys it was
So so nice to finally put wheels on a Porsche and not have it be some massive ordeal now as for what held us up you might notice if you look inside this front caliper it’s missing a piston
It’s missing a seal in fact it’s missing a pair of them unfortunately we got shorted two of our 428 mm dust boots and gaskets in the grand scheme of things it’s not a big deal at all because that’s
Not the only part we have to order these guys here these are for the rear brake calipers one in Threads into that hole you can see right there on the back of the caliper it use around just a
Little bit and then it goes to a rubber soft line or in our case one of these guys one side completely trash this one we were able to get like a quarter turn on but even with heat it just did
Not want to come loose so unfortunately we had to order two of these guys from Porsche damage parts missing parts out of stock Parts story this build I suppose why would it change now every one
Of those parts should be in hand within the week which is exactly how long it’s going to take us to get our front wheels back tomorrow morning we have an appointment to drop our wheels off at the
Machine Shop they’re going to take just a little bit of material off the inside surface where it meets to the hub it’s pretty much the last resort we already put these awesome Redline control arms
On the car if that doesn’t do it well we’re pretty much screwed and we’re going to have to change tires as most of you guys already know I would prefer not to do that so we got to put this thing
Down on the ground we’re going to have to make this thing as close to full weight as possible to get a real true ride height on it and see how much we can actually take off we need to find some
Weight to stick in this frun we don’t have a lot of space to work with there it’s super common in the racing world to put lead or something like that we need something small we need something
Dense we don’t have any lead you know what can I get a h with something real quick oh perfect adults in the car now all right we’re loaded up right here 6 and 12 mm is what we have and what
We’re measuring is right there the upper collar of the coil over to the inside barrel of the wheel I said I wanted to get 5 mm off as it stands with our clearance there I don’t think we’re quite
Going to get that at minimum I want at least 2 mm of clearance so that gives us 4 and A2 not bad but guys enough technical talk for today I’ve been waiting for this for a while I’m sure some
Of you guys have as well let’s get this thing outside and finally see what this paint looks like well guys sorry in advance for the wind noise by the time we got this thing down we got it measured we got it pushed out side it’s got somewhat cloudy and unfortunately very very
Windy with the sun being so low in the sky the car still just really looks black I honestly cannot wait to see this car in the dead of summer when the sun’s you know right up there and
Not way over there somewhere it’s been so so long coming at this point 8 months we’ve been in this series guys at this point there’s absolutely zero preventing us from getting this thing completely done wrapped up making a [ __ ] ton of power just in time for the Race season here in the Northeast Now before we get to put this thing up in there we do have a little more work to do in the form of torque Solutions bushings for the transmission mount and as for the engine mounts our good friends over at Red Line sent their modular ones
Easy enough cut these guys out slam the other ones in dispose of those properly and now on to the Rain line units first order of business another trip to the dumpster so this is the way these things work soft sport call it medium and then hard these blue guys are the same hardness
As those torque Solutions mounts we just put in so I think it’s going to be best case scenario to just go ahead and match them knowing that I can change this up later make them hard knowing that
I can change the stiffness of my motor mounts later um you know makeing a race car you know you guys understand why I like these mouths turns out these things are actually cake to
Put together yes I have done it once cuz I used the wrong size stud but we’re not going to talk about that too much you slide the pieces together like that stick the right size stud in there with
A bunch of red Loctite crank those guys down then we use said crank down nuts to do that then you unranked nuts spin them off throw them to the side don’t do that boom done fancy new engim
Out before we put these guys in we’re going to do something that you don’t see me do often take a precaution I knew I was good look I’m being careful my entire net worth is wrapped up in this car and no that’s not a
Joke easy enough not that we’re going for Aesthetics back here in the engine bay but they do look a lot better than the stock ones also now I think it’s finally time after a long long wait to fill this European [Music] hole
Well that was significantly easier than I thought it was going to be it’s obviously been quite some time since I’ve had my hands on this car but that was only four bolts it was cake now though is when the hard work begins of course number one concern isn’t the amount
Of work we’re about to have to take on it’s if the car is going to go like this when we put it up I don’t think adding 40 lb to the front of the car is really going to accomplish what I
Needed it to so I think we’ll go ahead and take care of this whole radiator situation I know that’s like 4 lb but we can’t add any more weight to the rear till we do something up there we adding weight we’re getting motivation right now oh this is a motivational titanium
Exhaust I got it I like where your head’s at oh sick awesome super sick what better way to add some weight to the front of the car than with a complete new cooling setup from CSF well that’s a new one guys
I recently had the opportunity to stop by their unreal facility out in Los Angeles it was radiators as far as the eye could see it was an insane top-notch operation and they were even nice enough to show me around and show me some of their prototype
Stuff which was absolutely mind-blowing that you guys are going to see a little bit later this year as nice as those are to look at we do need to put them on the car and I think I’m going to start with the easy one the [Music] center [Music] And in all of 5 minutes the easy one is done love the logo love the way it looks not that the old ones were necessarily in bad shape they do have a little bit of damage but there was no signs of actual leakage if you’ve been around the channel
For a little bit though you probably remember what was coming out of this cooling system so clearly not changing them not an option as for the sides it’s also an easy install but things get complicated after that at some point here we’re going to have to face reality
And make sure those ignorantly big wheels that we decided to throw in the car don’t do this what we’re going to have to do is pretty heavily cut this radiator bracket is it going to work I don’t know this bracket right here was the
Biggest trouble area but I think once we resolved that it was still going to hit all down here so we’re just going to hack it all off and hope for the Best one down one to go I’m honestly pretty thrilled with the way this bracket modification came out I think keyword think it’s going to give us enough room to pass and if not we may
Have to modify the slip on the radiator but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there one thing I’m pretty upset about actually is the fact that we’re going to have to stick an AC condenser in
Front of these radiators it looks so sick the way it’s set up right now but not quite sick enough to make me want to drop AC now we have one more to go and this one is just a little
More complicated this guy here is the driver side radio setup that came on this car and a while back I figured out that the brackets are actually pretty badly bent in fact we couldn’t turn the wheel past it the good news is I’ve had this thing stashed away for quite some time now
It’s a radiator off another 997 Turbo we parted out here it has damage to the actual radiator to the Shroud but the brackets look okay the only thing more impressive than the actual radiators on the car is this massive radiator SL bracket SL hose graveyard we’ve assembled here we have
Four radiators all the hoses here’s that bent bracket you can see where I’ve circled it of course we do have to toss condensers on them I do have one black one one silver one that is off of
A 997 GT3 and then another kind of black one so I don’t know how I’m going to handle this I don’t like non-matching bolts so I definitely don’t like non-matching condensers but I think
We may try to spray this one to match this one because this one over here is pretty beat so I think I just talk myself through that on camera that one’s going in the trash we’re not going to
Know if we have to do more work here until we put the car down on the ground waited and see if we have to turn it but for now we’re finished with that front cooling system it took quite a bit
Longer than I thought it was going to being that we had to modify so much and Source a couple parts that weren’t damaged off this car we’ve made the scrap man happy down there we got a little bit to
Clean up and then we can move on to some more fun stuff in the back of the car I did tell you it was about to get more fun big turbos big intercoolers carbon fiber can’t beat it problem is this hose
Right here it’s made to connect this to a stock turbo these turbos clearly not stock so I think we’re going to have to do just a little bit of modification the overall shape’s actually pretty
Correct the problem we have is this angle here we do have a little bit of rotation on this turbo housing that’s about as far as we can take it what we run into is if we Bend this down and slip it on
It Kinks right there so I believe what we’re going to have to do is shorten it right there just a little bit once in a while when they decide they want to cooperate you can actually cut down the
Clamp so at first glance it didn’t look like it was going to work at all it was still hitting right about there it was kinked pretty badly then I did something a little unconventional the issue we were having is this side was too long this side not long
Enough for the angle it doesn’t look great I am going to clean it up a little bit but it works is it absolutely perfect no we’re going to have a little bit of Kink there but it is what it
Is this is a pressurized hose so it’s going to expand not suck shut and that right there I’m not too worried about yeah if you can’t tell by all the detailing supplies that are now sitting
Up there in the shop Fernando’s finally here and I’m not going to hold it back for me any longer it’s exhaust time it’s exha then we got to bleed the clutch but again no no we did breaks come on
I know there’s been a lot of bleeding lately this is clutch it’s progress we’re getting close tell me that doesn’t look amazing I know it’s just a piece of it and all but [Music] jeez
Look at that yep so what we’re going to have to do here though is this bracket which is used to mount the stock heavy exhaust we’re going to have to yank that off all right I did not realize that these four bolts that hold the exhaust bracket also hold the
Engine professional Porsche mechanic time before you take this bracket off support the engine Pro tip we’re going to have to do this one a little bit differently this is going to have to slide in here first and hopefully
Hang does feel worth the money doesn’t it I know it’s a lot of money well worth it how many pounds do you actually think that you lose with it from stock like 40 wow it’s a lot in there
Know it’s kind of sad that nobody else is going to enjoy the c1x house they’re going to enjoy it right here eh but it’s not the same thing if they actually looking it you know they’ll see the tip
I’ll give them the tip I think we should be one of those Lambo guys that just rides around like that it doesn’t look like there’s anybody that makes slip joint clamps in titanium I was hoping
We could have it just to match if any of you guys know of a product like that definitely put it down in the comments I did begrudgingly order up some stainless steel one so we’re going to get
It taken care of and they’ll be here on Monday but for now it’s about that time need you back inside the car can we start now no we can’t start it [Music] yet oh yeah something’s happening up
There so we’re on the plan B here it doesn’t want to play nice with the typical pumping the clutch popping the bleeder type method so we’re going to bust out this fancy new power bleeder I’m not quite sure how to use this we’re about to figure it out
Together all right Plan B worked out I’m a fan of that thing we couldn’t get it done before this feels good it feels stiff but good I am missing one little clip in there we have to
Syn these down but it does function as it should other than the shift knob coming off we do have to siphon a little bit of fluid out of this Reservoir clearly not the right tool for the
Job but it is working you spend all the money in the car and you didn’t have money for the tools yeah I can’t head up to Target and buy $3 turkey baster to do this the right way so we’re going
To use a straw and physics now that we got our shifter shifting our clutch clutching it’s time to address a major issue with this [Music] car at this point I’m pretty sure we’re all in agreeance
That this car is just in general kind of a piece of trash or at least it was so it should come as no surprise that at some point the previous owner ran over some something and destroyed pretty much
Every line under this car whatever it was came across the car diagonally like that you see that big AC line hit there moving on to the heater core lines you have some damage to the main Co
Line and it got finished off of course with the power steering line right there and don’t worry we’re not done for whatever reason some way somehow they also managed to Crunch this AC line up here now when I saw all this for the first time I figured we had two options one
Spend multiple thousands of dollars ordering all these lines brand new from Porsche or put on our big brain and spend multiple tens of thousands of dollars buying a new car just to get the lines we Need got [Music] it we may have took the long road to get here but after properly robbing two other Porsches I think we have everything we Need [Music] kind of tedious overall not too bad everything’s super smooth plug and play except this guy right here it did take me a minute to figure out why there was nothing I could plug that hose into turns out it’s automatic and pdk specific of course at that point I was 99.9% sure
We were about to be screwed we’re going to have to order parts it’s going to delay us even longer but it turns out we actually did have a car we could rob a manual hose off of and if if you follow my
Personal Instagram or YouTube you’ve already got a sneak peek of this but for the rest of you guys I bought another 911 Turbo as a standard issue here on this channel it uh yeah has some
Issues but we’ll talk about that when the time is right for now we got some hose to play with yeah we had ourselves quite a long night here fortunately guys we got it all done that hose
You saw yesterday it’s in there everything else is sealed up properly typically when you get to the engine bay portion of a project like this that’s where the hard work begins but this car is so
Simple that it’s really just pulling old stuff out sticking a bunch of new stuff on really the only exception to that is a little bit of grinding we’re going to have to do on the intercooler here oh I did forget about this I’ve yet to modify this bumper beam these need to go
Bye-bye oh come on man you almost a scratch a demon for those of you guys who aren’t aware why we just did this the US spec bumpers on the 997 turbos they have these ugly things that stick off the back they’re called bumperettes even when you pull them off there’s holes
Under here so when I got this car painted I bought the 997 Turbo European spec bumper that’s right some things are actually better in Europe I know it’s hard for us Americans to believe what happened misjudge that exhaust a little bit yeah it’s hanging like
6 in lower than the rest of the car and I didn’t realize it till this moment there’s definitely going to be some type of adjustment with these tips but I’m hoping that we can line it up with the heat shield and then it’ll be pretty much right when we put the
Bumper on that makes more sense they way hold this he right now why didn’t you say anything yesterday I didn’t have any idea how they actually go oh but now it makes sense how loud you think
This one is going to be it’s not that loud it’s a fact turbos are mufflers I think that’s about right I don’t know how far it’s going to stick out past the bumper but by my calculations once we get done cutting for these intercooler pipes we can stick the bumper back [Music]
On all right we did get it done yes everybody’s gone yes it’s dark out it took quite some time there was a lot of trial and error there it’s really hard to get a proper tool back in there but ultimately I think we’re going to be
Good well if you can’t tell by the look on my face this morning it was a late night by the time we were done here I was in no shape to hang this much less by myself on a freshly pained car Fernando glad to see you this morning
Order minor adjustment aside this tip needs to go up how’s that one look same thing up a little bit it’s touching a little bit okay this looks freaking sick it looks so good what’s the what’s the thoughts review exhaust I like it’s cover ho you know just I can’t anyway see the
Vision I have for this car almost a year ago at this point finally coming to fruition it’s just awesome there’s not a better word for it it’s just awesome man now not only is it looking like a car it’s about to sound like a car in fact there’s only one thing we’re
Waiting on at this point that’s a calibration from the guys up at aim performance till then we’re going to use this opportunity to make the front of the car complete that way once we get it started we’re hopefully not too far from driving it right out the Door [Music] Guys my 911 Turbo actually looks like a car again I honestly can’t believe it I haven’t seen it this way in I don’t know a year at this point I guess technically it’s not even a year
But it feels like 10 so aesthetically there are a couple things that we still need to do I want to gloss clear this Hood to match the roof same deal with the Scoops over there but that’s
Not important right now we still need to get it started we are waiting on one small thing that gives us just enough time to throw this guy in that’s right some oldfashioned JDM boost control
Goodness on a pors for those of you who aren’t aware the 997 ECU has no means of boost control do I find that really we weird absolutely until about 30 seconds ago I didn’t know where I was
Taking switch 12vt power we obviously need it but lucky for us the fuse box in here there’s some single-bladed fuse slots that are switched 12vt could not have worked out any better I took it apart ran a wire through the front of it stick this right in there boom there we
Go we had enough wire we even ran it cleanly and we are now now plugged in and it’s time yes I’m extremely nervous thank you for asking as directed by aim we currently have the crank sensor unplugged which means for
30 seconds we got to crank this thing and build a bunch of oil pressure all right crank sensor in it is actually time now this has been a year year in the making so much time so much money I don’t I don’t know what to say so we’re just going to roll with
It I’ll just replay the scene from the ZR1 at this point it’s why did you shut it off didn’t show oil pressure for reference everything was fine in the ZR1 it just took a little bit I do
Have to take a quick second to say that assuming this is just like the ZR1 and it’s not actually down on oil pressure it’s just an electrical issue it sounds awesome sounds awesome it sounds good
So hopefully we can figure this out soon but until then I guess we kind of can’t start it again as I’m sure a lot of you guys can relate when you leave something like this unattended it overnight sleep forget about it thinking about anything else taking care of anything
Else nope not going to happen the one and only thing I was thinking about why doesn’t my car have oil pressure now I’m just operating on the assumption that I didn’t crank it long enough and now I suppose we just keep after it until we build oil
Pressure two burned out jump boxes later we still don’t have pressure on the dash so we’re going to see what’s going on in the filter housing I don’t know what I’m expecting to see but hopefully it’s not dry it is dryish that’s not
Great weird weird weird weird we check the oil pressure sensor connector way down deep in the motor that’s seated so next up per the guys that aim crack the turbo oil feed line and see if anything’s coming out this is going to be the fifth
Crank cycle with that broken loose oil feed let’s give it one more here and hope it does something you can quite literally smell the starter it is blazing hot please give me some oil nothing absolutely nothing if I had to guess at this point we’re probably
5 minutes in cranking still no oil pressure as you guys know the starters cooled down I can’t smell it anymore I guess at this point what do we have to lose but to crank it some more a
Fact that it didn’t have great oil pressure from the jump like on the old engine means that it could be failing but it had like a bar or so running yeah and I thought it was cuz it was so thin like the oil you know yeah what do they do you know what
Like good oil two to three bar two to three but that could be explained by very thin oil well guys there’s not a lot to say at this point this build has went from oh my God oh my God oh my
God to God Dam it we’ve pretty much exhausted every option there’s very little chance that it’s not something internal in the engine if you guys remember earlier in the series when we tore this engine down we decided not to split the case the raw bearings were Flawless we assume
The main bearings were going to be Flawless too there was no evidence to show otherwise the one thing we may have overlooked looked however when this car was running previously it has slightly low oil pressure it did have some oil pressure but it was fluctuating right
Around the bar when it was running thin oil low pressure makes sense to me but that’s working on cars sometimes it just doesn’t work out and stuff like this happens now I am going to try to stay positive here because that’s what we do on this channel and if there is one
Takeaway from this the car looks [ __ ] awesome couldn’t do it could not leave it alone there’s pretty much one more thing we can check in house and it’s these guys oil pressure relief valves dream pain please the theory here is this piston up top can get stuck in the
Block when that happens it can’t build oil pressure if it’s stuck open oil get sucked up into the dry sump and just recycles right back into the crank case the driver side here unfortunately came out perfectly fine so I don’t know that this is going to be our
Issue but it was worth a check we do have one more given that this one wasn’t seized wasn’t disgusting highly doubt that this one is going to be either but again what else can we do even if these check out it’s going to give me a little bit of piece that we’ve
Done everything we can possibly do and everything else that needs to be done is in here it needs to be done by actual professionals does feel less pressurized so I wouldn’t be surprised if no it’s not in there I need a second I didn’t want to speculate I wanted to talk
With aim first and make sure that there is indeed supposed to be one of these in each side and there is for those of you guys who have been following the build you know when we did our engine Bill we didn’t split this case the Rob bearings were good we presumed
The main bearings would be two so we chose to save ourselves 10 grand and not do it now when I just spoke to aim they said when they don’t split cases they also don’t pull these
Guys out aim didn’t pull it out I didn’t pull it out that really only leaves one option here the plug and piston that goes in horizontally like that that’s untouched that’s exactly how it should be but the one that goes in vertically is missing parts I’m thinking that somebody mistake
This thing for a drain plug the springshot wherever they never put it back in and here we are so big old thank you to whoever got us in this situation I mean um definitely not bitter
About it or anything but we’re going to let it go because the car cannot build oil pressure without this in there so I think we just found our problem I know we just found our problem that yellow car
That you guys saw in the last episode we did get a very very blown up motor from it turns out that it has exactly what we need imagine that now as long as we have a good piston in here now whether or not we should be using something that came out of
This on my brand new engine anyway is another debate but I do want to try now the more we get into this and the more things are seemingly going really well today the more questions I have this little alignment pin right there it sits
In the spring and then goes in the cap the other one it didn’t have one is it supposed to because I genuinely don’t know only one has a pin that means we have everything we need need out of precaution I am going to hit it really lightly with scotchbrite that has a
Assembly Lube all over it just to knock any kind of surface corrosion off oh it feels much better now you guys know the drill the first thing we got to do is crank this hog and actually try to see something on that oil pressure gauge
Come on you got this old girl show us something is it moving or am I seeing stuff it’s moving [ __ ] right let’s go let’s [ __ ] go one crank cycle that’s what I’m talking about that’s what I’ve been looking for all
Week go ahead and plug PL the crank sensor back in yes I am going to be lazy and not take off the wheel there we go let’s Crank It Up for real I was nervous last time I’m
Still nervous this time but I do have a feeling this is going to go a little better let’s do this well we had oil pressure oil pressure is Ted at five bucks I legitimately don’t know what to say last time it was kind of a disaster we heard it
Run but it wasn’t really hearing it run right the exhaust note the turbo whistle this is why I built the Porsche I haven’t even driven it yet and I love it while I don’t love the route
That we had to take to get here we are here and it’s [ __ ] awesome I could not be more excited this week has just been Madness 24 hours ago I thought this was going to have
To come out of my engine we were G to have to replace this internal oil pump we were going to be down about 1,300 bucks for this oil pump and about 10 grand in total but as long as we don’t
Happen to cross any damage that was caused by cranking this thing by running it momentarily without oil pressure we just saved ourselves a ton of money you missed it I know you left just
A little too early yesterday we got some work to do I don’t want to waste any time that needs to go out there ASAP and then we’re going to do the burner right it is rear wheel drive at the moment So I’ll explain I’ve had a couple pairs of these under braces sitting around I chose to keep the cleanest pair turns out there must have been a midyear change because they’re different lengths and I just found that out the hard way but after some dumpster diving we’re back on track much much [Music] Better you ready I least is my favorite song already I don’t know if that has to do with anything right now let’s go bleed some cooling as per usual guys we don’t have the correct tools
But we need to bleed the cooling system so I’ve decided to jack up the back of the car I think that’s going to work you actually going to do like the same thing that you got to do in Volkswagen I
Don’t know but this is not a Volkswagen don’t dis it is basically a Volkswagen I know as of right now I have three gallons of water and this is my second gallon of this you actually
Say something wrong you say water and you can you please say like the proper name on it it’s it’s not normal water water is water no it’s not you know it’s not why are you using normal water right now I finally bought distilled water for a bill because it’s such an expensive
Cup important note once we take this for a test drive your uh seat is not bolted down so with that oh is that [Music] normal I’m not getting in and out of this thing all day I just c a couple onions you know it’s running a little r uh eyes are
Burning got ourselves a coolant leak I was this close to saying it’s time to drive it and then I saw a little coolant tripping Now’s the Time to go down the M and guess where we can cool it
From this right here has a little bit of damage to it and I was worried about this I don’t want to waste all this new Porsche coolant it was fairly expensive I think I’m going to go buy a nice clean
Bucket drain it all right back into that so we can reuse it and then I might have to go snatch this line out of the yellow car outside don’t worry we’re definitely going to spill all this
Regardless did not need this 5 gallon bucket whatsoever okay and you buy two yeah I thought i’ put seven gallons in what if it all comes out like it’s not all going to be stuck in the radiators
Stupid if I am interpreting this correctly this line isn’t actually bolted in there’s just a bunch of plastic clips that line way back there under the coolant reservoir that’s what we need to get off it’s not in the most convenient location but I don’t think it’s going to be too too bad [Music]
That was not fun we had to cut it in two pieces to get it out fortunately this one’s going to be a little bit easier if you can’t tell by the gymnastics I was doing this did suck to get out even with
The engine out of the car to maneuver this around the brake cable and other coolant lines not fun as for the old line here that’s now in two pieces you can see the damage right there it got flattened presumably when he ran over something the
Old coolant hose was really hard to pull out I did try to fix it if you want to call it that clearly it didn’t work out I don’t even know what to say at this point pray for [Music] me wow
Oops we got good news we got bad news the good news I’m 99% sure we’re going to be able to do this the bad news we have to take off a lot of stuff [Music] well team once again we’ve dodged an issue and once again it is now pitch black outside to be
Able to get that odd shaped Hardline in there we had to dismantle half the car including the axle the parking brake cable honestly it was kind of a nightmare job there’s so much stuff that had to come off half the suspension arms it just wasn’t a fun time all these coolant lines
Had to come off that small coolant line up there there was just so much we had to move around yes it was a fantastic waste of a day but the good news now is we get to spend the next
3 or 4 hours doing it all over again you guys didn’t think it actually through that [Music] right I don’t know where it’s coming from but we better [ __ ] find out good news we found the leak bad news I need to go rob a another hose off the
Yellow car in the dark I’ve been in and out of this thing we’ve chased any and every possible leak the floor is now dry and clean the only thing I’m debating at this point it’s been an insanely long day it’s well past 2 in the morning I know the
Responsible thing to do will be to wait until the morning to take it for a test Drive Quick middle of the night drive review the brakes aren’t bled worth [ __ ] there’s all kinds of noises it’s honestly pretty far off from being done but that is the first time I’ve ever driven this car so I can’t help but be excited I did technically drive it off the
Trailer into the shot but we’re not going to count that as is the case with any build of this magnitude it is not even close to being done after the first drive there’s a ton more
To do but either way this is massive progress in this car’s journey and I can’t wait to get back here first thing in the morning and get wrenched on it again I’ve been waiting over a
Year to do the first test Dy on this thing I’m more than ready right now look I just want to be sure there’s no puddles underneath it we had ourselves a night last night but at least he’s
Ready to drive right um I’ve already driven it what they Fair you know we’re going to drive it for the first time in the daylight together sound good it sounds kind of fair well you’re going to
Have to deal with it okay based on the night we had ourselves in here last night I’m almost a little scared to push this car back and see if there’s anything under it but from what I’m seeing right here doesn’t really look too bad at least there’s no massive puddle running out
The door it can’t be that bad right no can’t I did make a decent mistake last night I didn’t get it on camera because I was more worried about cleaning it up as soon as possible I overfilled
The pentos in here I assumed that it was going to suck so much of it down because it goes all the way to the front turns out I was wrong we just overfilled it it started pushing out when
It got hot for those of you guys who don’t know pentosan is extremely corrosive anything rubber gets on is destroying ASAP so we were doing some full-blown franic cleaning why are the keys on the wrong side I don’t know it is pretty annoying honestly it is on the wrong Side This is embarrassing look I’m going to let you in on a secret I thought it once last night too that’s from something else this is grease not from that car it actually didn’t leave anything on the ground overnight I’m fairly shocked
Considering we’re drive this morning you ready to do the honors let’s go you think you can do it without stalling it again um I’m not sure about that that’s first oh they went in Reverse fine earlier what’s going what’ you break all the
Stalling must have caused an issue here did it break the transmission he’s actually a good manual driver I don’t know what’s happening right now I’m nervous to be honest because it doesn’t have brakes or seat belts no because I think we need to fix the
Alignment right yeah it needs an alignment pretty bad beautiful morning though I’m driving to 997 wo that beeping is kind of annoying it is you hear that noise I think whatever it was was coming from about right here okay so that’s
Not nearly as loud as it was the last time you came around but we need to address something there I think it’s the heat shield that squeaking noise that’s the only thing that really gets me
Everything else seems pretty simple I just can’t place what this is I have no idea if it’s coming across on camera literally no idea if you guys can hear this but it is odd I think the best way
I can describe it’s kind of like an intermittent chirping it almost sounds like a belt but it’s not a belt one thing that I’m extremely pleased about though I didn’t see those Wheels rubbing at all I didn’t hear them rub I didn’t feel them rub that was a massive concern of mine
As you guys are well aware if you’ve been around the series for a while you were pretty much full lock weren’t you basically over there I do like a u- ter rub it all nothing I do think I’m going to
Raise it up just a little bit I am worried it on hard bumps especially cornering it’s going to hit the fender but I think we nailed it on these wheels and that was a challenge if you
Are new to the series and didn’t see what we went through on that one go back and watch the videos I’ll put them in the description but two we actually had to have the wheel shaved
Down we we’ve done a lot to make these fit whole point I would have to say that’s whole point I want to see you clutch skids right now I want to see if I’m wrong or it’s actually the
[Music] clutch it’s got to be that heat shield it absolutely has to be why is it pop out reverse I told you don’t love the fact that it’s popping out of reverse but keep in mind guys we’ve only driven
This thing from about right here into the shop I have no history on this transmission whatsoever worst case scenario it needs a little trans work we’re going to just pretend that’s not going to happen here I’m leaning more towards it being just a little bit of adjustment needed on those numeric Cables we got a fix reverse bad suppose we’re going to break this one time use clip that didn’t feel like it broke at all feels pretty good I’m wondering if I had trouble getting it to do that prior because I didn’t have the clutch bled and we hadn’t done any shifting through
The transmission or anything I thought the range of motion on this thing stopped right there hopefully we have full range forward as well let’s take her for a rip let’s go do it feel good going in now yeah that you actually feel the difference oh it looks
Like it clicked in way better good put it neutral put it in reverse and let the clutch out I think we’re [Music] Gucci so bleeding the brakes it didn’t go great they’re still not that much better than they were
This car sat with no brake fluid for a long time I think we may have to go out and try to lock the ABS up to try to get some air out of that either that or when we send the car back up to aim I’ll
Just have them use one of their computers that can actuate the actual ABS module itself which now that I’m thinking about it is probably the safer option I don’t know if you know but we got
Allil containers that we can actually here’s what it is you understand why this is clean yes I know yeah so we can see all the metal that’s about to come out I’m sorry that’s not a funny joke guys
Way too far I apologize for saying that yes okay well it still looks new that’s good looks pretty normal to me smells a little fuelish which is perfectly normal on a fresh engine like this oh Godam if you couldn’t tell by looking at Fernando’s arm the oil everywhere it’s coming out of it does look good the one thing I was very careful to do is not drain it from here like a complete idiot not a lot going on at the bottom of this which is obviously what
We want there’s no metallic flake there’s nothing weird at all all that cranking we did starting it with no oil pressure for a brief period of time I was at least a little worried that we had done
Some damage to the bearings the raw bearings they had assembly Lube on them the mains did not it looks like as far as that goes we kind of looked out but we do still have to pull a
Filter as far as I can see right now there is some dirt but there’s nothing metallic whatsoever now we get to do this all over again as if we haven’t done it enough lately and then
We get to come in first thing tomorrow morning and fix something else to fix we’re back I just got done scheduling the car to go off to the alignment shop 2 days from now which means we can no longer ignore this damage suspension the car didn’t necessarily Drive poorly it didn’t
Pull a certain direction granted we haven’t taken it over about 20 mph one thing I am worried about though you see some pretty heavy damage here on this lower control arm for obvious reasons I didn’t want to line the car with bad damage control arms so just like on the front of the
Car here I went back to Ren line and got some more GT3 control arms if you guys didn’t see how awesome these things were when I put them on the front of the car they’re just like the
GT3 ones you have different size shims like this you stick them in there crank it down and adjusts the negative camber now as is the case with I’m sure many of you guys I was just victimized by
The whole wild wear in here mentality of course we couldn’t stick this old dirty crusty and it’s not damaged oh it is damaged see we’re just being safe there’s a little scrape there didn’t want to put this back on the car safety first we had to get ourselves a new arm with aftermarket
Bushing pressed in are you sure that you didn’t damage that on purpose I’d never do that now because we don’t need these control arms and they’re already damaged we get to do this the fun way you got to be quicker with that camera man I was
Quick you can’t tell me that even if you’re not using this to adjust Thea Amber right off the bat that these don’t just look 10 times better than what we had on here before what about don’t show them that don’t show them that please let’s move on
I’m sorry I said anything yes and links are on the way [Music] jumped out of the way he’s scared this thing sounds good this sounds really good sounds awesome I like it a lot yes we definitely still have some issues to work out yes it’s freezing
Cold and yes we did sit in traffic for a while but I’m excited I’m reallying excited we’re driving it how you like this work in seat belts your seats bolted in oh it what there’s a cop back there
And I don’t have a plate on the back of this car I’m definitely about to get pulled [Music] over okay okay I guess it’s my lucky day I don’t know hey that t noise is awesome it is it’s the
Turbo noise is unreal and the car drives pretty well yeah even the position like I thought it’s was going to be like super small but it’s not it’s really not and there’s a lot of he yes partially
Because we got rid of the sunroof which if you didn’t watch that video which is now I don’t know 6 seven8 months ago Link in the description maybe if not go find it it’s in the playlist it was an
Awesome time we cut off the roof got rid of this nasty sunroof put a carbon roof on it and now it’s made as a custom headliner it’s kind of a weird feeling driving this car for the first time I’ve
Owned it for so long as you guys know haven’t had it on the street this is a long time coming and well worth it all the trouble all the struggles on this car all the delays finally beat it right
Can’t beat it so we need to do a little exercise I’m just going to take the car around for a casual spin you know driving it around the building no big deal are you sure about that I’m sure you’re
Going to let me know if there’s any obstructions in my way okay racon [Music] good yeah all right squo get him either right nah Wildlife around here is unreal is like a jungle it is per come we got that one yeah I think you did came out of
Nowhere it does stop pretty well despite what that might have told you the brake still feeling a little weird but at least we can lock up ABS my thought here is that since we locked up ABS any residual air in the pump that came around from
That brake master cylinder sitting dry for so long now work this way out everything looks different underneath now different or awesome awesome yeah check out that blue I’m pretty impressed by that the only thing that hasn’t changed colors unfortunately but it
Will soon inside of here right now this is still a nice clean hole but it’s a about to get dirty once we crack those waste Gates on the topic of color though I can’t wait till we actually put
Some serious heat through this thing make some passes maybe on the diner the whole thing turns blue far too many times bleeding this as you guys are well aware I used a vacuum bleeder a pressure bleeder we’ve used Fernando’s bleeder I don’t even know what’s going on at this point I’m pretty sure
They’re still going to suck as for what’s next with the car maybe it makes 1,000 horsepower maybe we have 10 other issues I genuinely don’t know but as for now it runs well it’s driving
Pretty well so I think I’m just going to go out take it for a run the brakes feel worse I don’t know this is what you don’t see I ran the car so low on gas that when we pulled it up
On the tow truck it ran out of gas this is what we’re working with now trying to save am a giant mess doing the fuel system in this car kind of back fire fuel management issues aside it was time to send it back to our good friends at ain’t performance for their fuel
System and of course to throw it on the dyo a few short weeks later I got the phone call I had been desperately waiting for your car is ready for the dyo the problem we have though I
Got that call 12 hours before a massive race event and I was already um [Music] occupied so I told them to let it rip without me there and they did exactly that to the tune of 1,059 Horsepower so the car just made 4digit horsepower we have the track available to us tomorrow but it would mean Fernando and I have to pull an all nighter to go grab this car and make it to the track on time what well that was an easy decision if you’ve never
Experienced that last minute race car life Welcome to this show apparently we’re not the only ones ready for the event are you ready for it I’ve been ready for this for a year it looks the same but it definitely doesn’t run the [Music] same hopefully you
Keep it these clean I know Fernando knows and you all know that it’s not going to stay this clean [Music] usually I’m confident my cars will pass today hopefully this is the most difficult part of the day Jesus Christ aren’t you supposed to have the uh the slow class stickers or is that
Where’s your car in case you guys can’t tell we had to leave the Juke at home that’s sad they wouldn’t let it run it wouldn’t qualify for the 130 class she’s going to be setting records soon though mark my words record soon for reference the Juke quarter mile records of
136 all right long time coming first pass did we technically meet our goal we made it to race motive things aren’t going well here but we did make it we got the car the dyno went awesome we made a lot of power the car can’t the car drivetrain wise is solid
The tunes on it makes power we went and made our first pass of the morning came back this wheel covered in brake fluid took the wheel off didn’t film it tried to fix it thought maybe possibly I fixed it it’s still leaking brake fluid I don’t know what’s going on with
It this is something that I obviously don’t want to go back out and run 170 m an hour with so we’re going to take ourselves one more look at it and if we can’t fix it if
It’s not something obvious we’re kind of just done and we have to stick to that car over there what about these the PO requesting ceramic brakes at this point yeah yeah I think that could be it actually maybe the car itself is just begging for Ceramics oh I should note there’s
More bad news really bad news look at the inside of the wheel it’s just break fluid where where is that coming from I have Fernando stand on these brakes I cleaned them off I was under it I genuinely don’t know where it’s coming from I don’t think it’s coming from a bleeder possibly
Down here but I think the likeliest place at this point is from a piston itself it has to be coming from a piston at this point I I really don’t know where else it will be coming from not
Ideal but I suppose when you rush around try to get a car like this here pick it up 12 10 what whatever it is hours from the event this is the position you find yourself in laying on a garage floor at the track I’m really proud literally it’s cleaning it’s brake fluid I’ll
Clean brake fluid I’m not going to go detailing my car but like I’m not going to let brake fluid eat through my wheels for your stuff today Fernando right no detailing PA I got nothing to complain
About the car is pretty clean oh I got something to complain about I didn’t want to get this fully in there until the car was PPS I was pretty sure like 80% sure they ain’t going anywhere
She’s not going anywhere whatever it is it’s gone it exited at 150 160 mph we’re going to go walk around a little bit later hopefully we can find it this hurts I have looked up how much it costs
To get a new one here you go if there is a little bit of good news here it’s on the one pass that I made but was supposed to be a test pass which is why it was unfilmed the car felt really good the
Car is fast it pulls it hooks otherwise though today’s not been good at all today’s been a bad time nice way to spend some money I was really planning on taking you guys along for the ride of
This entire event in the new 997 Turbo we were going to have a blast it didn’t turn out that way that was in there pretty good that somehow managed to come out I had trouble pulling it out by and I don’t know
What’s the old saying about this being racing I I guess this feels like stupidity honestly you just you should just take it off no I don’t want to tell you that I told you but um this is one of
Those times $2500 down the drain it’s leak and breake fluid I’m done with it we’re putting this one to the side we’re going to the ZR1 clearly the first track day didn’t go at all as planned
But I can’t really be too mad about it the car’s back in one piece all the core stuff worked out mechanically it was great it did make a lot of power the guys at aim were there they did some
Data logging everything looked good with the engine is actually com back in one piece it’s one piece we’re going to call this one piece I would say 99.5% let’s be honest things could have went way worse we could have had a leaking brake caliper we could have lost that duck and
We could have scattered the engine on the side of the track we could have left more than just a duck things weren’t that bad the first thing of course we had to do when we got back is figure out
What the hell was going on with our brake caliper there so I tore right into it this was really the only thing keeping us from driving this car even though we had other issues like you know a missing
Duck that I’m still salty about I don’t know if you can tell we got into this thing we found out it was indeed leaking from the Piston once I got the caliper off got all the pads and the hardware
Off it was pretty easy to see where it was leaking from this one specific piston we yanked it apart and sure enough this one seal I guess got nicked sliding the piston in I’m not exactly sure how
It happened M Stakes happened I suppose it could have been a lot worse we found the issue rebuilt the caliper stuck it back on bled the brakes for like I don’t know the 10th time at this point and finally it looks like we have brakes that actually work they don’t leak anymore so
That’s one major thing that we can check off the list realistically in the grand scheme of a build that’s something totally normal that kind of stuff’s going to happen usually you find it
Before you take the car to the track didn’t happen in this case we tried to rush it and this one time it just didn’t pay off but I think that I find a real issue right here you now know the issue
After we fixed it what’s the issue it’s still say Porsche instead of Porsche I suppose being that it does say Porsche you would expect it to be leaking brake fluid so I guess it checks out
Maybe we should have put the right stickers on it tried to not be slick that probably did cause the issue not only did we have a failed brake caliper there were some other I guess missing
Parts you’ll call it when we showed up at the track we didn’t have time to put any of the under panels on not only that but it wasn’t as simple as just bolting up ther panels back onto the car
Being that we put these big massive tires on the front we had to do a little bit of modification to the front fender liners and by modification I mean we had to cut them up pretty good what do
You estimate we have on here I don’t know 25% of the factory fender liner left yeah can you call that a fender liner anymore it’s a fender liner yeah there’s no better it’s a fender accessory
We’ll just say that yeah I like the term but it still works to do does it work it really just is on there cuz it makes me feel like I didn’t just leave a piece off the car but either way hey it’s
Fine we got it working it doesn’t rub the fender liner that part actually worked out where we are rubbing though you can see the tire there is cut pretty good we are hitting these fenders I know
I thought we accomplished it but once the coil over settled down a little bit it hits I knew that you had the static life in your blood stop why you got to come on man this is a fact I Ain
Lying this is a fact I feel disgusted with myself I hope you guys feel equally disgusted what we’re going to have to do I think we might even do it a little bit later today is cut that inner Fender
Lip a little bit more not only that but after all the work we did I do think we’re going to have to do a little more I think we’re going to have to order some upper camber plates that’s going to
Allow us to add some extra negative camber from the top that’ll bring the wheel in just a little bit more and we really don’t need much so at this point the car is pretty much ready to go driving
No more leak and brake caliper we have all of our under panels it’s actually a complete car for the first time in years there was just one more thing when I was faced with spending another
25 $100 on the carbon vent that I lost which I do have to say it would have been nice if there was just anybody to possibly warn me about that issue I don’t know who was a good idea to don’t
Listen and pay attention yeah they’ve already seen that it’s already in the video oh they have they they know yes Fernando clearly told me you should probably leave this out and I um did not listen I
Told I can tell you’re still just thrilled about that fact every time I bring up this stupid vent I’m salty about it you just start smiling I’m done with this I’ve been mad about this for quite some
Time now I decided to go ahead and stick the stock vents back in it and maybe this is just me telling myself this to make myself feel better but I like them I do think that looks better because you got
Like a better contract with all this carbon fiber stuff exactly but now you need to put gloss in the hood so we’re going to do that this isn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be it does soften the
Blow I guess at this point the car is now full bodied it’s not missing vents anymore and it’s ready to drive so he’s basically over 2 years at this point probably not since I’ve had it on
The road but since the car was last on the road at this point I’ve owned it for a year and a half and this is pretty much the first day that this car has ever just been complete ready to drive now one
Thing I anticipated doing at the track my plan was quite literally to make one single pass stop back by the pits and give you guys the full rundown on this car every single thing that aim did because
Quite A lot’s changed there’s a lot thought I wanted to share with you guys and we just never got a chance to do it Numero Uno the Y pipe if you can’t tell it did get powder coated they
Took care of that while it was up there not only that they added a boost strap you see right there on what I believe is the alternator bracket the Y pipe now bolts to it that’s a custom addition
By aim typically if you were running a normal turbo setup on this if you didn’t go hardcore like we did and put the filters down on the turbos themselves you’d have an airbox here these little
Studs on the bottom of the wi pipe would go into it and that would prevent the wi pipe from blowing off under boost obviously we don’t have that to rely on so they bolted it to there
That means that this cannot blow off this car is not running 10 lb we’re running 30 lb of boost the other major thing they did on here is something you’re going to have to use your imagination for
A fuel system they added another fuel pump inside the fuel tank it’s all in tank we don’t have to have some surge tank down here like Alex did on his car I believe that may be something you can
Only do with the turbos like this inside the tank there’s a lot going on but externally there’s just one single line running under the car to supply a little more fuel back here so it’s one of the
Most elegant ways to take care of fueling needed on a th horsepower car like this and it’s simply one of those things that aim performance has locked down like no one else unlike that yellow car we just brought in that had aftermarket fuel rails that had a fuel pressure regulator there
This system uses the stock fuel filter there if you look in the back you may or may not be able to see way back in there there’s one single larger line now going to that fuel filter that’s the only
Difference if you were paying attention you might have also picked up we have an extra wire there the fuel pump positive the fuel pump ground it’s such a clean install even if I took all this stuff
Off to show you there’ simply just be one line laying there if you’ve been following the series from the beginning you know this is my first time driving a turbo Porsche ever and while we drove it
We took it down the road we didn’t get to beat on it and that’s what this car is built for clearly That’s What It Wants You sound unsure about that I thought there was going to be a garage Queen you
Know this isn’t the silver one right there was a lot I didn’t know about this car there are some things that you’re supposed to do that I didn’t know that I got filled in on when I picked the
Car from Aim I did count on sharing this with you but for obvious reasons we got sidetracked when I picked this up for me they I think didn’t realize how new to the Porsche world I was in fact at one
Point Joe told me to stick the Corvettes I’m pretty sure he was serious but either way he filled me in I think we’re good to go now first bit of advice he gave me every time I drive this
Car we put it in sport mode for whatever reason the way this car set up it’s a requirement it has to be in sport mode next up on the button list PSM off apparently that’s also critical I think
It stands for pumpkin spice mocha something along those lines we do have to hit those things every time we drive apparently it’s important you don’t have to do that in Corvettes I’m just saying next
Up here this is our master switch if you want to call it that you remember we installed this HKS boost controller well it’s set up by Maps here if you have it off there is no boost control
Whatsoever meaning not what you think not that it runs on all the Boost but it runs practically no boost which we don’t want any of that setting a setting B both for 93 octane pump gas setting
C and of course the only one we’re ever going to run setting D for dck I can’t see a good reason to ever lower it so we’re not going to uh corbette can’t do that that’s true super TR you got to
Change a pulley here I just hit a button obviously all this stuff didn’t come in the owner’s manual the 997 which I don’t believe I got anyway we had to have aim fill us in so now we know how
To drive this car I think hopefully are you about that we’re about to find out if we don’t know how to drive it it’s going to be more entertaining for you guys I promise the car is solid enough
Again I think I really anticipated showing you this a long time ago I thought we were going to go beat this thing on the track but finally after a year in aing half let’s go drive this thing normally you guys wouldn’t see any of this but from the start I’ve just went with
It in this video I’ve showed you what this whole Journey’s actually been like as we were pulling across the parking lot to go drive it this rubbed one more time I think we need to
Raise this up right now so we don’t cut one of these tires and end up in a ditch somewhere I promise you I think I promise you that after this we will actually go drive the car this
Was not AES some clever thing to show off my new Schwab and jack for our friends at Pelican Parts but if you need a jack you should buy and you should buy for them cuz it’s awesome I guess now we can show them that fender liner too I was hoping not
To have to put that on camera put in the comments if you can actually call that a fender liner or what one and a half spins up is what we’re going with this is a long time coming sport mode pumpkin spice smoker whatever a dumb thing
I said it was off this isn’t just the first time that you guys are experiencing this car getting getting beat on it’s only the second time I am I made one pass one single pull at
Race motive this guy never I’m kind of curious to know you the feel faster1 it it does not I’ll say that from the jump the gears are much shorter than the ZR1 I think you’ll agree it feels like
A much more we’re still rubbing whatever at this point we’re just not turning the wheel we’re just going to go straight we do have to figure that out that’s not good so I was told by Joe aim this car
The most he’s driven has an incredible amount of cabin noise in vhi think they call it for the people that worry about that kind of stuff he said it is solely because of that upgraded
Transmission mount that I put in he said and I quote if you change that back out it will ride like an S-Class bins I mean that’s not what I built this car for I don’t care but it’s pretty
Cool that you could have a th000 horsepower car that drives like that would you do it no no I like this it feels really nice and tight and solid it’s still hard to imagine that a car that makes
1,000 horsepower drives as well just something doesn’t feel right about it if you’ve built a car like this you know 10 years ago they’re always an aggressive race car they don’t really idle well this car feels stock until you get on it and the best part about this whole thing it Hooks [Music] wo amazing there’s no other word for it just amazing there is one thing about this car that we’re going to go over in just a second that kind of kills how fast it is and you may have thought that first shift was just really slow but it’s something
Electrical that we still need to figure out a solution for one thing I haven’t done yet and what better time than now is God on it from first gear this is the first literally first Ha so it cut out really early it was like there’s a rev limit at like 6,000 but there was a um fine boy in blue coming around the corner that Phantom rev limit may have also just saved us
From a little bit of a ticket you can definitely daily use this car 100% you can daily drive this car and I will daily drive this car once we do what we need to do next episode because there’s
A few things I can’t stand about it right now and we get a ppf I got a problem because after the Z1 nothing feels like it you know it’s just like you got fast car Z1 and then everything is
Screw actually the Z1 feels faster than the R8 the ZR1 for 1,000 horsepower car makes less horsepower than this by 11 okay and it’s he’s right there’s no way to explain a Corvette ZR1 massively long
Gears incredible torque I can hit it from 3,000 RPM and it’s gone it’s you just cannot beat those cars this is totally different this feels more like an import and when I say that I mean like
A Japanese import that’s what I grew up on it feels like a small engine big turbo car but it on some level it just runs way better is it feels faster than an AK4 Supra oh those
Laggy pieces of track that I had multiple off yet wow you’re going to get hay for that it’s True I like the fact that you don’t lose the tires at all like it’s that is amazing that is not what I expected in 1,000 horsepower car tire management comes into play on the ZR1 even though
The rear tires are bigger their slicks are close to slicks all-wheel drive in this car does work second gear no problem now I suppose it’s time for me to complain about the one thing there is to complain about about the Driving Experience on this car and it is something that I believe we’re
Going to be able to work out even though it’s not straightforward that time I made a concerted effort to shift before rev limit if this thing Taps rev limit at all in between shifts in gear it doesn’t matter the electronic throttle body closes when you get into the next gear instead
Of going shift bang gone it shift then it opens back up it’s a very laggy and very slow process as fast as you want to shift this car your foot’s back on the throttle and it doesn’t go anywhere
There’s a second of delay and I hate it from what I understand from what aim told us that is simply because it’s on stock ECU if we ran a standalone that would solve a little bit of
That issue that’s another 10 $15,000 so um can keep it like this yes I will keep it like this for now okay for now because if we can’t get this worked out that will cause me to have to
Spend that money I can’t sugarcoat it this does ruin the Driving Experience for this car and it ruins its competitiveness at the track just give it a little third gear hit see what it does feels good it feels really good it feels go straight it does it’s such an easy car to drive
I cannot emphasize that enough the way Fernando what’s the highest horsepower car you’ve driven until now 250 probably this is the faster really yeah oh so we just quadrupled Fernando’s Force Power unbeknown to me I thought he had experience of something a little faster and th000 horsepower
Car down the road like it’s no problem yeah I don’t have experience with a th000 horsepower car but is that’s doesn’t feel scary at all not at all yeah and as you get experience with higher horsepower cars as I’m sure some of you guys can attest to that does in some cases
Equal boring I don’t think it’s the case with this by not scary it just goes it’s straight it’s controllable we all love an out of control wild car like the Corvette I know at least I do but there’s something to be said about having a car that’s a Porsche like this that’s meant
To be a nice driving car still driv driving nice after you do this kind of work too doubling the horsepower she’s definitely a keeper forever man you think yeah you please don’t ever sell this car well here’s the thing oh but there we go I kind of can’t sell this car because
I’m in it so [ __ ] bad financially if you’ve been watching the channel for a little bit do you know we’re at the culmination of a nearly year and a half build on my dream Porsche 911 Turbo I brought this car back to life with a full Viola metallic paint job I then installed
A built engine there was some massive turbos and made 1,50 horsepower so that raises the question what do we do now for the first time in my life I’m not searching for more power there’s nothing to fix so that really only means one thing time toj it and drive it absolutely not
Instead of enjoying this fine piece of Machinery that we’ve built I decided to find everything that I still hate about it and fix it spoiler alert there’s a lot from the sun-faded single projector headlights that make the car look like it’s sat outside half its life because
Well it has to this massive disgusting 1980s Porsche looking dinner plate of a steering wheel there’s some things left on this car that just have to go now to be fair it’s not all hate there’s some things I’m simply not sure of we have a lowbudget cheapo junk short shifter
In the car that feels like well a lowbudget Cheo junk short shifter sure it works it’s functional but it’s nothing compared to this numeric racing unit we bought and then there’s other parts like
Our tail lights the LED tail lights I installed in the car I don’t hate I’m just not sure I love them so I decided to pick up a set of red OEM lights to try we’ve got the car 95% of the way
There that last 5% we’re going to give it today is going to turn it into my version of perfectional Wheels it’s almost hard to explain why I hate these headlights so much and the grand scheme of yellowed Sun damaged nasty headlights these really aren’t that bad but
When Porsche makes a beautiful by projector headlight that is super clear I mean I mean you can’t really blame me right there’s just something about for the first time in my life putting this much effort into the exterior of a car and not having the
Absolute best possible headlights installed as an added benefit this install is going to take all of three seconds nothing like a little bit of instant gratification to start out a video I’m kind of jealous of por that was so easy easy look all you got to do is spend
$1 plus th000 building a Porsche you have easy headlight removal it’s really not that hard not only did it take no time at all it looks awesome I had a feeling this was going to be the case but it completely changes the front end of this car for me for me
These headlights were the one thing that was missing to have absolute Porsche Perfection on the front of this car except the hood but we’ll deal with that in a little bit truthfully I just wanted them for Aesthetics but I’ve heard the light output’s a lot better
Too are they not on nope okay if they turn on headlight beam adjustment faulty I thought they were supposed to plug in and work right away plot twist unbeknownst to me the used set of headlights that I bought don’t have ballast at all and
Now that I think about it it’s probably why the lights aren’t turning [Music] on [Music] now let’s give this another shot they obviously look awesome but now that we fixed those ballast or added the ballasts they even have light it’s 100% a personal preference thing but
To me this is exactly what this car needed we took that one remaining piece of the front end the dated this car as being almost 20 years old and replaced them with a set of headlights that look like something that Porsche will make today we’ve done a lot of extensive modification to the
Exterior of this car so I have to admit I find it kind of humorous that one of the most simple mods ended up being one of my favorites it changed the whole front end like the fact that got like these
Two circles on it of course it got like a specific name on it I’m just going to call it Circle but cires okay is that because you couldn’t recall the actual name at this very moment my original
Idea for this video was simply take the part that I hate the most replace it and then move on down the list to the things I hate the least but I have to tell you guys number one was a tough
Choice headlights might have been 1A but that steering wheels definitely 1B I wouldn’t call it number two I’ve been complaining about this outdated dinner plate looking steering wheel for too long now and today’s finally the day we get to rip it out of there and replace it with this
Beautiful Alcantara GT Sports steering wheel you mean Alcantara right that’s what I said no it’s exactly what I said Al cont I don’t think I sounded exactly like that but okay annunci aside I’d held off on doing this mod because I was hopeful that we could get a full complete
Wheel in here on a car at the salvage yard that I could stick directly in the car without having to build it from scratch I sourced the wheel out of a new GT3 and then we just had to start
Ordering a ton of parts from Porsche basically what I’m getting at here is we’re about to play a really awesome game of Legos that’s going to result in a massive upgrade for the 911 Turbo For as beautiful and Timeless as a 997 chassis is there’s just a few areas where it lacks in this is probably one of the biggest on a scale of 1 to 10 all they going to say is finally in
10 out of 10 easily easily 10 out of 10 did you plug the battery no we don’t do that here Jesus Christ even though we had the pieces stinging together pretty good it was cake like cake cake I can’t imagine it easier [Music] install she ain’t going nowhere you ready no you
Ready Perfect Look at that amazing Fernando I’ll let you do the most fun part look at this interior man like I know it changes it completely go ahead and do the honors it actually passed from 2008 to
2020 that’s so satisfying it’s not even funny truthfully it’s almost hard to put in words how much this updates the interior the headlights yeah they look data but you only saw those when you were outside the car that ugly steering wheel I had to look at every single time I got behind
The wheel yes it did cost more than I expected which is why I was pleasantly surprised to see that this ugly steering wheel still has a little bit of value some of the older 996
Cars are for spoke so is a market for this it’s going to pull like $750 I thought it was worth 75 bucks obviously I’m pretty happy about that now that we’ve addressed that issue this is where
Things start to snowball on the interior we have a nice alcanta steering wheel that means we have to do the Alcantara shift boot out of the GT3 as well given that we have to remove the shift
Boot that’s in the car that’s going to give us the perfect time to install this numeric racing shifter and given that we have to remove this center console to install that shifter that’s going to give us the perfect excuse to switch to this full leather Stitch center console out of
A 911 turbos s way back when when somebody speced this car new they did it very basic they left out a lot of the things that make these cars kind of special and for a 911 turbo was pretty low option
One thing that bothers me like no other though this plasticky center console it’s a coating it’s starting to rub off it just looks bad of all the money we’ve dumped into the car this episode this piece we got inhouse we just parted out a 9911 Turbo S convertible it had the fancy center
Console so I just stuck it behind my toolbox didn’t tell anybody now we’re going to stick it in the car the only thing that bugs me about it a little bit is it is out of a convertible so
We have the convertible top switches and clearly this car no convertible top we don’t need those switches but I’m thinking I have a pretty cool way to repurpose these switches into something else down the road so I’m not going to sweat it I suppose the best way to go about this is
Simply rip all the old stuff out in one Fell Swoop and build it back up with all our new parts it never fails every single time I get behind the wheel of that car I’ve been focused
On how terrible that wheel is and I kind of forgot how ratty the rest of the Interior is this center console is not horrible but this plastic that’s been peeling off it almost reminds me of the old Toyota Super dashboards that literally fall apart it’s just bugging me while the shifter
Isn’t cosmetic like most of the other stuff we’re dealing with in this episode I did have to mess with it every time I drove the car and it was enough to piss me off it’s not horrible that’s
The nicest thing I can say about it if you were to want to do a short shifter in your 997 this is the cheapest most cost effective way to do it it’s the stock base the only part it’s aftermarket
Is the blue piece there and the shifter rod unfortunately this isn’t one of those times where the cost effective option is just as good it’s no match for the numeric racing shifter this is an entire shifter box replacement and after I drove that yellow 997 Turbo that I rebuilt with
The numeric shifter it was a no-brainer I had to have it ASAP this is as precise of a shifter as I’ve ever felt in any car I’ve driven period this one it just feels sloppy and on the top
Of a sloppy our old shift boot the leather’s hard the stitches are pulling out the seams are split it’s pretty much trash at this point so we got the brand new shift knob and shift boot combo out of
A GT3 the only part I’m not thrilled about is the knob itself it’s the one decent piece of interior we’ve taken out today and that’s this shift knob it’s by race in I believe I bought this not too
Long ago it’s really heavy and it made up for some of the flaws in that shifter unlike last time I installed a shifter in one of these cars in which I installed the shifter put the console
Back on put our shift Boot and knob on and then realized it needed to be adjusted we’re going to install the shifter and then we’re going to test drive it make sure it’s good and then we’ll put
The rest on this time we’re using our brains which yes is a first on this channel you’re not going to find anybody that says this thing doesn’t look the part let’s go take it for a little
Test strip and see if we have it adjusted right so I know we’re here to talk about this shifter and make sure it’s working properly but holy crap this wheel this thing is 10 times better this is
The part of the video where I yell because this car is so loud some of you guys might be wondering why we have to test this shifter because there’s so much adjustability and not only the shifter but the cables it’s not just a plug-and playay installation we adjusted the
Cables to work flawlessly with the last shifter you watch this series from the beginning you may remember that when we first got this car on the road it kept popping out of reverse that was because we didn’t have the cables adjusted right the last thing I want to do is go through that
Again so far it seems like all the four gears work fine we’ll go back to the parking lot and put it in reverse about I don’t know 50 times if that works we’re going to stick the center console back on call it [Applause]
[Music] good now as for this little guy if I’m interpreting it correctly we just slide it on twist this collar and it’s [Music] done the theory is right but it does take a lot of muscle done Twisted there we have it that feels amazing Red Line got us again this
Time with carbon fiber GT3 style interior door handles frankly this isn’t something I needed or even wanted but they keep making cool stuff and I keep buying it I figured for a couple hundred bucks in like 3 seconds to stall why not
Right is this money that I needed to spend probably not definitely not but hey there’s so few mods on cars especially cars like this that we’ve already built to this level that you can do for a couple hundred bucks and have yourself a nice completed project to the car in
A couple minutes and if you like Fernando and I aren’t even close to being able to afford a GT car at least this lets you fake it while you’re getting out of the car I thought the GT is red well this fake GT they’re silver all right we’re not going for authenticity we’re
Going for cool mods for cheap now that we got our fancy new door handles as for the next part we’re putting on I also don’t hate the current ones I’m just not sold on them I don’t hate them sometimes
I actually think they look cool but I’ve always wanted to see what the all red tail lights look like so where did those actually come from I believe and you guys can correct me if I’m wrong but this wasn’t optional in all the 997s you just had to spec it when you built
The car oh if you thought the door handles were an easy install this was quite a bit easier at first glance I do really like how the all red ones look the only problem is it still kind of looks dated to me that was the whole appeal about these LED
Tail lights but they don’t quite capture the look I was going for either hit the lights I know it’s daytime and all but they’re not very bright hit the brakes hit the brakes again doesn’t really do much hit the brakes now
Okay now there we go the key has to be on for the brake lights to come on okay that’s a little brighter I don’t know hit a turn signal hit the hazards H this is still a tough one guys I was really hoping I’d put them in I’d
Love them or I’d hate them and that’s just not the case what do you think it’s like a 50/50 50/50 indeed I think what I’m going to do I’m going to stick the other all red tail
Light in and I’m just going to save the LED ones normally I’d sell them normally I’d try to recoup a little money but I think I’ll hold on to them and maybe we’ll swap them out every 3 months for some reason I think that this Bay is a better combo with the headlights
That you have right now age but at the same time I like the red one so yeah this is tough this is tough for now I think the all Red’s the right call maybe it’s just because it’s fresh it’s a new
Look it looks cool I’m definitely digging it but let me know what you guys think of all the mods we’ve done so far in this episode it’s the only one I’m not 100% sold on for now we’re going to call it like 96% sold and I’m glad we knocked out
A couple Easy Mods because the next one we’re about to do well it’s not easy [Music] next up on the list are These Guys these borchik front camber plates are our last ditch effort to make these absolutely ignorantly sized wheels fit without rubbing period if you’ve been around for a
While then you already know the deal but if you’re new to the channel when I did the GT2 style fender flares on this car I went a little overboard sizing the wheels I wanted to go as aggressive
As possible but I overshot just a little bit and we’ve been rubbing the fender ever since I’ve already tried to remedy it by raising the ride height by shaving down the inside of the fender in the flare I even bought GT3 style lower control arms from Ren line it lets you add spacers
I even went as far as to have the inside mating surface of the wheel milled down 4 mm which is all we could possibly do unfortunately though it hasn’t been quite enough while we have alleviated
99.9% of the rubbing there are certain scenarios which it still does happen as you can tell by the tire with these camber plates however instead of kicking out the bottom of the wheel it’s going to let us draw in the top of the wheel so theoretically that should give us even more
Clearance and hopefully and I truly mean hopefully this works because if this doesn’t we pretty much have to admit the feat on these big tires buy something smaller and I’m not ready to do That we’re just going to go for it the camera plays completely maxed out negative it might prove to be a mistake we might have to come back to adjust it but there is one one thing
I’m going to do now to prevent us from looking like a tilty wheel stance boy we’re going to pull these shims off the bottom control arms that way we can slide it in like that I’m sure that looked really great on camera you probably couldn’t even tell but it’s going to take out
However much camber this is and now we just CCH this back down then we get to put the car on the ground and see how bad it looks it’s own deck if we have like 7° of camber the Hat’s going [Music]
On okay well we did definitely need to take some camera out of it that looks terrible we clearly have all the camera adjustability we could ever need and then like another -10° that we’re never
Going to use but the toe is jacked so we have to do something about that the car is going to need an alignment the way we’re going to do that is with the steering rod that’s the only
Toe adjustment on here we’re going to get an eyeball close we’re going to send this thing to the alignment shop tonight and then we’re going to meet up somewhere to do a few more changes to
The car a little longer than a few minutes later well it’s been over a month since we spoke last we sent the car up to aim performance they got the suspension straight as an arrow and gave
The car a general look over so now it should drive flawlessly but as for the past few weeks the car has been with our good friends at A+ Auto styling and as per usual they absolutely crushed It just the absolute disrespect the owner Nick had to put his GT3 here where he knew I’d see it before I found my car oh my God uh this is rare for me but I’m speechless it feels like I’m seeing the
Car for the first time all over again that one piece of film on the hook completely changed this car all that stressing back and forth whether we should go all M all gloss all gloss was the
Call paid off 100% they ppf over the carbon exposed section on the wing they ppf the roof and of course the hood they also did the entire front a we don’t have to worry about rock chips
Ironically I did forget the tow hook cover which I was supposed to bring so they can ppf that as well so we’re going to have to try that on our own at home the window tent like pretty much everything
Else that was original to this car when I bought it was absolute trash so we had them pull that off and redo the windows and I think this is like the 10th car they’ve done for me at this point I have
To give A+ what more shout out here they’ve done right by me on every one of my cars that they’ve touched if you’re lucky enough to be on the east coast of the USA I highly recommend them I can’t
Say enough good stuff about them at least when it comes to cars we’ll work on the whole Zoom thing 10 times better yes or no 100% 100% is that’s only one time better I said 10 times
Better math quiz I I don’t even know how to explain it I never seen this car just clean it’s awesome it is awesome so this is the first time you’ve seen it person what’s
The verdict gloss matte on the hood y or nay I I can’t even remember if I say gloss or matte but this combination looks Perfecto how do you say perfection in Spanish Perfecto I don’t
Even want to bring back bad memories it’s gone it exited at 150 160 mph but these bands dude they I think they look way better just when I forgot about it but on a serious note now that these
Things are ppf I went and put all the Clips in they are not coming out at all to be honest I don’t think there’s another time I’ve owned a car that’s been done like this car is done
It runs flawlessly I fixed every single little thing that I dislike like about it but now we kind of have another problem what do we do with it there’s literally nothing else that I can do
With this car at the moment maybe I’ll put it on a standalone before spring to fix that shifting issue it’s the same question I’m facing on my ZR1 that car is not done like this car’s done and I’m
Kind of bored with it there’s nothing else to do on that one either I’m considering selling that one this one though absolutely not as far as I’m concerned unless something changes this is an absolute 110% lifer it’s easily the most in depth build that I’ve done it’s my first real Porsche
So I have some kind of special attachment to it and I just really like it there’s very few cars that I think I can just hold drive and be happy but this is one of them as for another video on
The car I don’t know if there’ll be one I am open to suggestions so if you want to see me do something with it even if there’s a certain mod you want to see done give me a shout in the
Comments and maybe I’ll make it happen now if you’ve been around since the beginning of this build you’re a true Channel OG I can’t express my gratitude enough and I hope you guys have enjoyed
Washing this car come from what it was what it is now as much as I’ve enjoyed doing it this just doesn’t feel right seems like we’re closing out a chapter of the channel I know right it’s been
So long but I mean I like it you we’re supposed to be happy right I think yeah are we if I would have imagined this moment a year and a half ago when I started this build yeah I’d be happy now
I just don’t know it feels weird it feels weird doesn’t it look we can feel however we want but we have one awesome car we’ve built here I can’t wait to enjoy it and drive it and hopefully pick
Up another one in the near future and do it all over again well I guess this is adios [Applause] [ __ ] hos Lane hell yeah brother hos Lane sick what a dork he always finds his way into my videos he’s early too while we’re in Connecticut we’re also going to meet a
Guy to sell dots FD bumper which I know what you’re thinking I’ve seen dots FD he should be buying parts not selling Parts but you’re going to have to ask him on that one honestly feels like Christmas
Morning look I don’t up enough by myself I’m out here looking like an idiot anyway and you guys want a with me God can’t do anything in piece here I was on my 20th take I was about to get
It right he’s looking for you I don’t know what he’s looking for he’s just standing at the door like a creep jeez weirdo roads man Jesus never finishing this it’s not happening here we go
Good stretch let’s go New Jersey drivers that gu yeah I forget to turn on the mic stuff like that happens and I have to record the segment about this whole stupid paper towel over and over and
Over I try to like have a decent voice for this stuff and I’m like God I sound like an idiot and that’s what I think I’m like what the well nobody can hear themselves right that that’s the problem
Yeah and I take this out in editing obviously but the these guys have heard it all day I’ll say the same sentence like three times over stutter halfway through and have to back up
Two feet and do it all over again but we manage we we get through it even though we’re not great at this oh no look at this criminal look at this criminal you know you go to jail for that you’re
Going to pay me 20 bucks for that right I’m not paying ooh this is a p saw online yes you probably did it put what six something up no no no no no no no 1050 I love the color though thank
You thank you 600 horsepower who say I made 600 hor I saw I see it in your face how do you feel that you used to be in your boat fishing and now you got to be I sweat my off in a parking lot no
I don’t like it I sold my boat Fernando knows uh to buy more cars com gets 1,000 likes you got to do that Porsche too on your face no wa wait what you the [ __ ] did you just say yeah
Went wild on your neck okay fck off I’ll do a Porsche tattoo for a th comment likes it’s my choosing I’m picking what it is okay all right Plan B worked out and it didn’t cost us $50 at CVS is that going to be long
Enough that’s what she said for once in my life I have enough length is that too much is that too [ __ ] much oh who whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa whoa what nothing [ __ ] [ __ ] off Hearts but it’s all came down to this there’s soft though not
Soft not nearly as stock as the let’s take care of the front end and then we’ll get back didn’t fallie of [ __ ] drun yeah I’m drunk yeah wow don’t admit that somebody you work with by that’s where the hard work begins but this part that’s where the hard work begins
But the only state that I’ve been through that sh than new is Alabama the only St Pennsylvania sucks too what Baltimore St top top two at least like top two Baltimore represent yes it doesn’t look
Good yeah you think what about this says good time to you he a p get out of here just go not sure you got that piece of sh leaking or what flash go my in frame probably not then you just wipe it off
Or no he’s basically it’s fine it’s fine for it’s fine it wasn’t a step it was a stick these big boy 10 mil spacers back in here for the wrong drawer we’re going to save these junked up wheel bolts
As spares just in case we need them down the road but as for these junked up wheel bolts about how we’re going to leave it I can’t really see us oops see just looking out for a what ising going on
Here is it going to make good power like how 900 or so 900 yeah huh what do you mean 900 1,000 give me one more of those no come on give me one more the driver front wheel over here actually fits halfway
Decent do we all as for the rear 23 nope not 235 325 the good news there however actually hard well that’s the way we like it now hold on I don’t really see how this is going to
Be but either way massive progress on this thing and I’m going to consider it quite the achievement that we were finally able to drive it as I run that over you it was actually hard to put the
All the line on it I left at 2:30 a.m. that’s where I’m going to leave that then I’ll tell you what you need to know okay okay watch the video all right like And subscribe smash that
Like button in fact all right fire up dog I don’t say dog that’s so [ __ ] stupid God why’ that even come out why’ that even come out of my [ __ ] mouth that was stupid as [ __ ] that’s what she said you guys just whitness that lights in my I can’t even talk

Hii
My 5th grade dream car crush 🥰
👍
5 hrs? Well I know what I'm watching for the rest of the week
you should look into volvos specifically the s60r they sound heavenly, you can build them to 800whp but they have a few issues
w
Absolutely loved this build! The car turned out sick and looks incredible! Thank you for putting two years into this because it was well worth it!
I'm not a Porsche fan, but loved watching this build series and looking forward to more builds.
FIRST.
Loved this series. Thanks for posting the supercut!
Your Porsche build was a pleasure to watch. Thank you! Not very practical, but if you picked up that Dodge Magnum you were looking at a month ago, would you consider building a burnout rig? Like the Mopar version of Hinchy's Holden wagon? Picnik media?
5hrs?
Hell yea
Im so happy that youtubers are doing this! I love the long form complete build videos! Thank you! This will keep me going for the next few days!
I had an extra 5 hours and 26 minutes of free time and I was gonna watch, until i saw the extra 36 seconds on the timestamp… damn
I wish all your videos were complete like this one! Awesome content!!
5 hours?? Too much even before I dissect it.
Oh yeaaaahhh 5 hour vid let's goooo
5….SMDH… back to you video 😊
KILLER CAR….KILLER BUILD
I watched it first time around, and loved it just as much this time. It would be awesome to see it on The Tail of the Dragon, once you've changed the ECU.
Great content my friend I really enjoyed the show blessings
This is great! I WAS bored at work… 👍🏼👍🏼
I wanna see the demon 💯% 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I missed the first couple of episodes of this build so great to catch up. 3.5 hours in and loving it. Editing is on point and credit to the guys who helped on the build. Only 2 more hours to go. 😂
Out of everything you did, the white calipers are the only thing I would never do. Other than that, I love this car. Nice job!
Watching the sunroof removal again was like watching a crime scene reenactment. 😢
Very beautiful 😉👍👏
The initial video of this car was where I started with Lee’s channel.
I watched the entire video! Was hooked every second!!
The car is stunning 🤩
And I think the LED taillights are WAY better IMO
And also fyi. You can buy a brand new modern Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto head unit that is plug & play from Porsche, definitely the way to go 👍🏼
Was anyone else sat watching this with a big smile and watching the enthusiasm in the first video knowing what we know now as to how long a build this was go to be 😅
Kept me company throughout my 6 hours studying session. Crazy rebuild, good job man!
