Man United legend Lee Sharpe has revealed the worst ever grilling that he ever received from Sir Alex Ferguson.

The iconic Red Devils boss was known for his ‘hairdryer treatment’ when he was unhappy with players.

And now in this exclusive interview Sharpe has told The Sun the crazy rant Fergie had at him, which happened at the home of United’s arch rivals Liverpool.

Sharpe also discusses how Sir Jim Ratcliffe will change the club, whether Erik Ten Hag will keep his job and what the future holds for United.

Okay so Lee thank you very much for joining me uh as you know perfectly well Manchester United picked up an important victory in the FA Cup against Wigan to ease the pressure on manager Eric tenh however United are facing a very tough Premier League fixture against Tottenham

On Sunday after losing three of their last five Prem matches how do you see that game panning out do you believe it can help tenh change the mood at Old Trafford well like you say it’s a very tough game Totten a very good side I think POA Koga has gotten playing really

High Tempo football and that are very difficult to break down uh man United’s still struggling with a lot of injuries still can’t get the strongest team on the pitch uh but but I think it’s one of those games where generally you see man united turn

Up against the big teams and uh I think if they can if they can start on the front foot uh and they could take the game to Tottenham I think they’ve they’ve got every chance of winning you know man united can beat any team they like on on a on a certain day

Uh it’s just consistency they’ve struggled with and uh I think in big games that they do tend to get themselves a little bit in the mood and and up for it a little bit more so I think they’ve got a good chance at the weekend uh well you you’re going to be

Asked this question a lot today if you that is if you haven’t been asked this question uh do you think Eric danh is the right man to lead Manchester United or should sir Jim Ratcliffe P the plug well I think I think at the moment

Wouldd be a bit harsh to to to sack I’m not sure there’s a a great a great list of candidates to take over from him if if I’m honest uh but I also think with the injury list he’s had he’s you know we saw the bench last night there was hardly a senior

Player on the bench um so I think he’s had a tough time with injuries he’s he’s had he’s had a few issues to deal with off the pitch as well so I think he’s had a bit of a tough tough time in his in his first 12 months in in charge um

So I think it’s a bit early to pull the plug yet I think I think if they could could back him during this window get him a couple of players to strengthen the squad uh and just see how we go over the next couple of months I don’t think

That would be any reason to sack him before the end of the season the reason I’m asking you this question is because you joined man united in 1988 during Sir Alex Ferguson’s very early days and you were there when some fans called for the club’s all-time best manager dismissal

Before he won the FA Cup in 1990 and the Premier League in 1993 you saw firsthand how long it takes even for the best managers to create an elite team what kind of differences do you see between tenak today and Ferguson pre-1990 well I think they’re very

Similar in a lot of ways I think he’s very disciplined he’s very organized uh he he lives eats breathes football uh you can see he’s 100% dedicated to the club and and to the to the task of getting the team right like I keep repeating he’s had an unbelievable run of injuries uh

Suspensions and illnesses and struggle to get a a strong first team out onto the pitch uh so so I think it is about giving him a bit of Faith uh giving him AIT a bit of trust uh and and and strengthening in in January if they can

I think you’ve got to give them a bit of time you know they keep changing managers and the new manager to come in now would have his own philosophy would want his own players uh would ostracize certain players because they wouldn’t fit into his his sort of regime so I

Think it would probably be a little bit more detrimental than than helpful if they sacked him now and and to give him a chance and to give him bit a bit of time to to get players back on the F on the pitch to get to get the squad

Strengthened up again uh and to see what he can do from there but I certainly think he’s he knows what he’s talking about and I would certainly give him a little bit more time of course though even the best managers in the world need help from the

Higher up so having said that what does sir Jim Ratcliffe need to do to restore United at the top what are the first things he needs to do after his 25% purchase is approved by the Premier League well I think we’re looking for stability uh I think stability I think

Support I think he’s already came in and give everybody a bit of a pep talk and a bit of a motivational speech uh I think everybody’s pleased to have him there I think that I think they like to see um his sort of Ambitions and and his

Aims for the club uh so so it’ll be interesting to see what happens and how much input he actually has and how much the manager can can still retain his input and know the manager’s Keen to keep up um a strong saying transfers on on who goes who comes in and who goes

Out so it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic works but but I think Jim radliff has already gone on a on a positive foot spoken to the players spoken to the the staff uh and already had a bigger response than than the Glaziers have had in I don’t know 15 20

Years they’ve been in charge so uh you know I don’t think it’s time to sack the manager just yet let’s hope that s Jim Radcliffe can can give the managers the support he needs and and we can we can turn the results around what about like logistically though I mean for example they’re

Talking about Sir Dave braer taking over as CEO or they’re talking about bringing in a sporting director so when it comes to like the shuffling the who’s who who takes what position uh you just mentioned about transfers and how important it is to to maintain ericon

Haw where he is but when it comes to like which people to bring in like do you believe that there’s there are certain things he really needs to do right nowan they’re talking about Old Trafford as well that needs to be renewed as well yeah I think there’s a lot of

Things I think I think the ground probably needs a it probably needs a rebuild to be fair uh if it’s going to keep up with the likes of the Emirates and and the Tottenham stadium and and things that are going on and Manchester United you know classify themselves as

The the biggest if not one of the biggest clubs in the world and they need the best facilities the best ground I think the training ground at carington probably needs a refurb and a re Shuffle uh they probably need a couple of players so so there’s it’s a big

Project um I mean braford has been in cycling we’re not sure how that translates Back to Football um but but he he certainly did a a great job with Great Britain cycle team uh let’s hope he can he can do the same with the club and it’s it’s all about relationships

Now and and how they build those relationships and the manager has to have trust in in the people that are coming in above him I think I think if I’m right in saying they’re one of the only clubs in the Premier League not to have a sporting

Director uh so so I think that’s important to get that role in place to help the manager and and then it’s about the manager laying down his foundations of how he sees the team playing what sort of players he’s looking for uh and for the for the people above him to go

And get the players that he’s he’s asked for M Marcus rashford dominated last season with a total of 30 goals and 11 assists in 56 appearances however this season rashford only counts of near three goals and six assists in 25 matches across all competitions what do you think caused that dramatic dip in

Form and how can he regain last term’s prowess that’s a very very tricky question um yeah la last season he was unbelievable um he was he was sort of a Shining Light when the manager came in and and this season he doesn’t quite seem to have have got up

To Pace I don’t know whether it’s a confidence thing whether uh he’s got something going on off the pitch that’s that’s concerned him a little bit but he doesn’t seem as as focused as um as Direct in his get in his football I watched him last night and you know

After four or five minutes he touched the ball three or four times and not once that he sprinted at the fullback or or or or sprinted in the game and you know his first touch he’s he stood someone up and tried to do a trick and

And the guy’s tackled him he’s gone out gone out of play for a throw in and Marcus rashford has just turned around and just strolled to get the ball and you’re thinking you know an FA Cup F an FA Cup tie away at Wigan the fans are

Going to be up their team are going to be up for it man united need to impose themselves they need to play quick they need to play with some Authority and just to walk towards the ball I thought just showed a I don’t know a little bit

Of uh I don’t know what the word I’m looking for is but you want them to declare intent and to show purpose and and just to walk off the pitch was a I don’t think lazy is the right word um it was just I don’t know whether it was a

Bit of arrogance or or whether he’s lacking in confidence or or what it is but he just doesn’t seem to be going past players he seems to be second guessing himself at times when he’s when he’s squared up to players he’s an unbelievable player Marcus freshford

With with so much ability uh I’m sure he can turn it around but we could do with him turn it he’s one of the senior players now and he needs to set an example for everyone else and when the team’s light on on um experienced first

Team players he needs to be setting the standard and and and last night I just thought he could have played with a little bit more um a a little bit more Pace direct and a little bit more Authority in himself and another attacker uh in Rasmus hland is set for his first

Premier League match after finally ending his goalless run in the Top Flight against Aston Villa how much do you expect that goal to affect her’s performances was that a goal enough to finally unlock his full potential well I think he’s done his confidence lots of lots of good uh I

Think um I think he will score goals I think he creates chances he sort of gets across Defenders and and and finds himself in the right areas a lot of the times in games I don’t think he’s had the service that that most Strikers would would want at a club like

Manchester United I think he’s getting half chances and and not getting a lot of the balling in big periods of games but but I do think he’s a young lad I think he’s come to a huge club uh he takes a little while to settle down and

Like I said the team haven’t been firing on all cylinders so it’s very difficult for a goal scorer to to hit the ground running as they say um but but I do think he he will come good I do think he’ll score goals and uh and hopefully

The the winner against Villa a week or so ago uh will help with that and for my final question uh you’ve previously opened up about your personal experience with Sir Alex Ferguson’s Infamous hairdyer treatment but I was just wondering what is the most unforgettable hair dryer treatment you have ever

Witnessed uh well there’s there was so many uh how long have you got um all day for that I have all day for well for for me personally um my worst one was probably at anfield at half time when he told me I had to move out my house and

Go back in digs I had to move my girlfriend at the time back to Birmingham I had to sell my dog sell my car uh and try to get out back I was only 18 years old at the time as well and um told me how rubbish I was how I

Couldn’t pass it couldn’t head it couldn’t run and then get out second half and go play well at anfield which was a very difficult thing to do in the best at the best of times but uh no he was he was certainly an aggressive manager and certainly got the best out

Of players um and and the hair dryer was it wasn’t just for me either were there were plenty of other players that had big hair ders as well so he told you because at anfield at halftime he claimed that you played you played so poorly you should just

Move out sell your car sell your dog the whole thing my God that’s that’s harsh that’s harsh right there
