After Peyman couldn’t cycle to the cabin in the forest, he decides to go a laavu (open shelter) close by to escape the rain the following day. In Ylläs he meets Taneli Roininen, who has been cycling around the world and designed the Arctic Bikepacking Trail. They both believe, that in the Arctic there are some of the best places for bikepacking and cycling off road. Finnish Lapland and north Norway are absolutely outstanding places for this.

We had a fun talk with Taneli and I decided to test ride one of the more challenging section of the route with my heavy setup in Norway! After meeting Taneli in Ylläs, I cycled further north on a nice dirt road and found an amazing cabin to spend the night in the forest. Like all of our videos, this also includes some nature knowledge and a how-to on making a U-head for the Click-stand.

Peymanin matka Lapin halki jatkuu.

  1. Hello again!
I wonder if you prefer the handlebars you are currently using or if you would rather have the butterfly bars on the current bike. Such comparisons of current vs previous equipment as you progress would be helpful for some followers. Thanks for sharing the adventure. Hello Matilda as well!

    Thanks for the content. 🙂

  4. Thank you for the video! 😊 I did a 72 km hike in the Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park couple years ago (and released a video of it) and I camped by the Pahtavuoma cottage. It was occupied back then, so I didn’t see the insides of it. So, it’s fun to see it on your video. I’m also gonna start bikepacking this year. The Arctic Post Road is very interesting! I’m definitely gonna ride it some day. Happy trails! 😊
