We are now on the Porto Santo Line from Funchal, Madeira to Porto Santo island. We’ve been sailing for about an hour now, so it’s approximately one and a half hours more to go. So it’s a two and a half hour trip.

And as you can see here in the back, we can still see Madeira a little bit. This part here is São Lourenço, it’s the tip of the island. And the ferry is actually pretty impressive. There are multiple bars and restaurants. And there is even a cinema.

There is a game room, there are game consoles that you can play. There’s a children’s room. So there’s quite a lot of things that you can do here on your two and a half hour trip. We departed at 8am, so we had a bit of the sunrise as well.

And now we’re just walking around a little bit, discovering the different decks that are here. And we are very, very excited to see what Porto Santo is going to look like. We have arrived in Porto Santo and are now doing our little hike with an amazing landscape around us, as you can see.

We are surrounded by clover! That’s really funny. Especially here if you see all of this. These are fields full of clover. Really, really nice. A landscape honestly that we have not seen in Madeira yet. It’s very different from Madeira. It’s not overall as green as Madeira is. It’s a bit more dry.

Kind of desert type of landscape. You don’t see as much vegetation and it’s just overall much smaller. We made it to the top and from here we can also see the Porto Santo airport that is literally almost the full size of the island.

You can’t really see it now because there’s a tree in front, but trust me, in the back there it finishes. We’re now on our way back from our day trip to Porto Santo. To summarize, it was really worth going there, honestly. Going there for a day trip, you leave in the morning

And come back in the evening with the ferry is totally worth it. Otherwise, alternatively, you can also take the plane. There is an airport in Porto Santo as well, so you can always take the plane. The island is super small, so you can get around very quickly, very easily.

I would recommend to rent either like an e-bike, just a bicycle or a scooter. There are amazing hikes to do there. There are really not many people doing these hikes, so you’re probably going to be alone, which is amazing if you love nature. There’s an amazing beach. There’s a very, very long beach.

So an absolute recommendation! And with this I would like to say thank you very much for watching and I will see you next time. We are going to enjoy our nice little beer on the ferry on the way back to Funchal. Bye bye!
