Hi everyone,
In this video I complete my trip by cycling the final few days of the trip. I arrive in Barcelona after cycling down the Spanish coast along the Mediterranean ocean.
This concludes the most epic trip I have done so far. Thank you so much for your support so far and I’m looking forward to sharing some of my future uploads with all of you.
Right there um I would say good morning I always want to say good morning I think actually watching this could be any time of day couldn’t it leave in the Campsite in Spain a hint of Spain I’m leaving the campsite um in somewhere called company going to Girona today so
It’s a small City South from here and the day off from planning so just to see some family which would be nice and then the day after Barcelona so unfortunately almost actually getting towards the end of the trip and I think actually in a nice way I’m quite upset that it’s
Almost ending you know you sort of want to just carry on if I had the time and wasn’t due to go back at a certain point I I would happily just keep cycling to be honest so it’s a good sign that you know for what I’m hoping to do in the
Future is going you know doing a bigger trip in the future it’s going to be fine you know in that sense if you’ve ever experienced a holiday where you’ve had enough and you’re looking forward to coming home you you know you know that wasn’t maybe as the best of holiday it
Could have been or he wasn’t doing things at a sustainable rate so it’s quite nice in the sense that I haven’t completely wiped myself out doing this so I know if I was doing anything much longer in the future I know what I’ve been doing is quite sustainable it’s a
36 7 Mile getting a bit of deja vu here because I have rerouted it to climbless Hills I’m hoping it doesn’t backfire this time last time I rerouted I ended up um I don’t even know what happened oh yeah it was going out of Paris and it was just
An absolute nightmare so I’m hoping um it’s better today I mean it’s knocked off 500 feet of climbing and it’s just turned what were four decanish climbs into a more gradual sort of ride which is more what I’m up for today and also go through some small little Villages
I’m not unfortunately unfortunately not going to see a lot of Spain so it’ll be nice to just uh try and get an all-inclusive uh cycle trip over the next few days foreign okay I think is isn’t it oh I have to go there foreign I love that bike lane design
Hi everyone welcome to the sixth and final part of this little mini series I just want to start by apologizing the fact that I didn’t upload my video last weekend when I was planning to unfortunately come down the flu I was pretty poorly the joys are working as a
Teacher eh so in this video for this day you’re seeing here I’m heading towards Girona I then spend the night in Girona which was pretty pretty worth seeing it the heavens did release themselves when I was there about an hour later but we’ll ignore that happen I then cycle
Towards something called director Mar which is on the Eastern side of Spain this is where my aunt her partner and my two cousins live which are just lovely to see because I hadn’t seen them since covid started really a bit of several years by this point so I spend the day
There I didn’t record anything for the channel for this just because I wanted to uphold some level of privacy for them and also I just wanted to enjoy my time with them and when you’re filming you do you do spend quite a lot of effort and energy making those videos so I didn’t
Want that to interfere with that the day after is my final a day unfortunately where I’m cycling to Barcelona and finishing there I do want to just say quickly how thankful I am for all of the positivity you’ve had on this channel I think all of you as an audience have
Just shown how positive the cycle Community truly is because when I was doing my cycle trip I didn’t meet anyone that made the trip worse that was cycling everyone was supportive of each other everyone asked everyone’s okay and had nice conversations and I think you’ll show that on this channel as well
Which is just absolutely wonderful and nice to see and I do truly recommend if any of you want to do something like this you don’t have to be an athlete or anything amazing I’m not amazing I’m this average person and a true belief I believe in is that average people can do
Truly amazing things it’s all down to your perception your perspective and how what you believe you can do and most people are a lot more capable of what they think they are to are capable of so there’s enough of those inspirational quotes for now I guess I hope you
Enjoyed the video and it’s been absolutely wonderful sharing this experience for all of you and I’ll talk to you guys very soon us looks like I don’t want to jinx myself the storm has rolled over my head without much of a downpour I’m not gonna complain Beverly looks a little bit angry
Thank you hola hey Last Hill of the day I hope ah [Applause] just arrived in my hotel in Girona and I thought I’ve got to film this talking about a bike friendly uh Hotel eh I’ve got tools and everything bike pump which I’ve just used just pump up the tires
Amazing I’ve never seen anything like this before and even a podium um it’s a hotel Grand altonia um it’s a place to stay at the moment in Girona I’m gonna go and have a little walk around have a look but yeah really cool what’s the square film you know foreign So just coming uh to you still from Girona uh just about to leave add a nice little walk around yesterday and then the heavens opened up like I said short ride today just in the same art and some family members so cousins and so forth that just live over this way it’s meant
To be another thunderstorm I’m starting to be a bit sort of cautious of taking taking it of a pinch of salt now I’ve said that it’s probably gonna lash you down on me later um but I’ve been pretty lucky so far so whatever happens from this point on I’m
Quite grateful that it hasn’t been too bad so even if it is a day of torrential downpour I I feel I’ve got enough quite a lot over the last few days Foreign but it’s better than 40 degrees please yeah 40 degrees that was true right so I just went for a nice downpour the sun’s come out so it’s quite a nice to be honest it felt quite refreshing after uh when I just just thought of the
About five days six days ago when it was like 40 degrees and I was struggling there’s actually a much more refreshing to go through that and so about 10 miles in out of my whole 24 exhausting miles today or 40ish kilometers I don’t think it’s that about 35 kilometers so yeah
Just taking it quite casually just strolling across long really um during the ride I am finding a lot of Spanish roads noisy to Cyclone so far but actually quite practical they have these big long hard shoulders they’re quite wide and um I generally feel quite safe on these roads which is quite nice
[Applause] foreign [Applause] foreign what a lovely day to go to the beach oh yeah loving the scenery looks like a big cloud on my glasses right so last day of cycling today next day so this is two days after uh your last video we saw me in
The torrential rain so it’s been quite nice spend some time with some family um saw my aunt and a boyfriend and a couple of my cousins which I’m pretty much haven’t seen since uh the beginning of the pandemic so it’s been really nice to see them spent basically the day
Yesterday just going around Demar and basically the route today is uh 44 miles about 76 kilometers just following the coast to Barcelona I have two nights booked in a hotel in Barcelona mostly because the campsites look terrible or fully booked one or the other I obviously want somewhere safe to put a
Bike called the hotel um they’re more than happy for me to have my bike in my room I know there’s quite a lot of bike theft in Barcelona like most major cities same same issue of what I was talking about when I was in Paris so um that should be all right
And then I have a coach booked for 9 p.m on the 23rd I’ve got two pretty much two full days um hopefully the hotel will be able to at least just hold on to my bike and my stuff for the second day and then I can just go and do some business and
Bobs I guess for the second day so yeah the the coach leaves at 9pm from Barcelona lives of Harrison and the plan is just to literally just get on the train and to from Paris to Calais and then Calais Ferry home so it should be all right anyway I’m going to get going
Um should be a nice ride today Foreign [Laughter] Foreign Probably about 15 miles so 25 kilometers from my hotel in Barcelona um feeling a pretty fatigued Beyond this point I just I think uh almost one month of cycling starting to really hit me I thought maybe it’s that mental effect I think when you get near the end uh you
Know I always find it hard the last part can be sometimes the hardest part I know if it was a longer trip I’d be planning a few days off by this point I probably would have had a few days off about four days ago but it is what it is I mean
It’s a bit of a challenging day as well I mean I pretty much face a headwind all day you probably can hear it through the microphone it’s very pretty um it’s nice to be cycling on the Mediterranean something I’ve never done before hold on [Applause] foreign driving foreign foreign
Just uh just funny just looking at the view out along Barcelona and just just you know thinking of sort of how far you’ve gone on a bike it’s quite a quite a strange sort of a feeling really you know I I I can see I can’t see as far as
I rode yesterday and that was one day um it’s been quite nice today just sort of reflect on sort of the whole trip really I do want to quickly apologize about how unmotivational that whole spew was then but I think it summarizes just my general emotions that I was quite at all
At where I was the last time I’d went to Barcelona as a family holiday I was a teenager I’d flown there and all of a sudden I’m in the same place that I sort of remember but I had cycled there and I’m looking at people getting gone off
Of cruise ships nearby at this point and also looking at people who’ve probably flown there people going buying souvenirs and it is generally really bizarre other people have done a trip like this probably know what I’m talking about and it’s so bizarre to be a tourist who has arrived on a pedal bike
I will say that the general experience getting to Barcelona was nowhere near Australia’s gonna be however I don’t think I feel like I’d have your interests at heart if I didn’t share the amount of warnings I have had basically entering Barcelona before I even got there I’d met a cycle tourist who
Previously had done a trip through Barcelona he had left his bike outside for about five to ten minutes outside the shop if I recall correctly and by the time he got outside the shop it was gone he’d locked up and everything properly with a u-lock and everything
And it was gone and the problem with cities is there obviously are professional bike thieves who earn a living and pay for things such as their degrees off of stealing bikes and this wasn’t just this one person who warned me of this many people in Barcelona
Warned me of this my aunt living up the road from Barcelona warned me of this so it’s just about having your wits about you so I stayed in a hotel because I felt you know 130 pounds in two nights in a hotel is a much cheaper price to
Pay than a brand new bike and also it’s more comfortable and I use that as an excuse for that the other option is I could say a campsite but there wasn’t really many options of Barcelona but the other option really is a hostel I have used them before actually with a pedal
Bike any bike which is even more expensive than the buy come on this time if you call ahead they sometimes do have storage spaces for it I’ve had hostels that have actually had proper bike lock units outside Spain’s a bit different I’m talking more here like Belgium
Germany which are more bike friendly but you know there isn’t just the only option to pay for expensive hotels and stuff you can choose hostels and they can be pretty good just call ahead and ask so to journey home as you can see here after a lovely day in Barcelona the day
Before which you saw in all the pictures as before was pretty straightforward I went with Elsa coaches which are actually really good they allow you to include a bike in your booking I think you can have up to four bikes on one coach so if there’s four of you even
You’ll as long as there are four spaces still available you can use this coach service I found them pretty good on a whole in terms of a bike the one coach driver out of the two was absolutely lovely he was going out his way to make
Sure the bike was safe he was he said to me like when we get off and I’m bored I’m not gonna let anyone take any bags until you’re at your bike I tipped him 30 Euros I was so grateful for this help because I was generally really anxious
About this experience probably the most anxious I was on the whole trip because I don’t like it when things are out of my hands and things like this they are so I’ll talk about it in more detail about traveling the valsart but I found it okay besides there two fights kicking
Off on the way back which dragged the journey out for extra few hours but that’s not the coaches fault that’s just the people unfortunately I then got to Paris and you’ll see in a minute of a little bit of footage of me on the train I got two trains back back to Calais
Then got the ferry back from Calais all the way back to Dover and then got a train back to my hometown in England which is only around the corner from Dover anyway I personally if you have the extra money just recommend a flight if you’re doing
A journey this far I think it had been much easier it took me 24 hours in total to get home I wasn’t goproing the whole thing because I just feel it’s I don’t like on public transport getting all my equipment out because it just makes you
More of a theft Target hence why I use the phone so the future plan is is to basically just give you guys some advice for the next few videos I’m going to talk about the trip itself an overview I would like to talk about transporting the bike and
So forth I’d like to talk about equipment and things like that I’m also hoping to do one or two trips this year smaller trips still and then I will like I’ve already said be elaborating more on what my bigger plan is for this channel so if you haven’t subscribed and you’ve
Watched all the way through these series and really enjoyed all the videos then please do because you’re going to get loads more lovely content and the more of you guys the the better because it’s been such a positive and lovely community and I’ve really enjoyed this whole process and journey of starting
This channel so the last and final thing I really want to say is a big thank you to all of you and I hope you all have the most wonderful day I hope you really enjoyed this little mini series if you have any suggestions or anything please
Keep posting them as the videos going up because not only doesn’t it help me but it also helps everyone else in the Channel people can read the comments and you know get advice from you guys too so thank you everyone it’s been an absolute pleasure I’ll talk to you all soon in
The next video take care bye now

Great trip and videos, thanks very much for sharing and I subscribed after watching your first video and look forward to your future travels 👍
well done, hope to see more in the future bro
Glad the close-pass coach wasn't the standard of driving on your journey back to Paris 😬 and was surprised by how deserted some places were, maybe that was during the siesta, not sure. Thanks for sharing the adventure, it's been super cool. All the best for future travels 👍
Good on you. Really well done!
that feeling reaching Barcelona is the realisation that you own the world, all you need is 1 bike

This was brilliant mate .
Just binged watched them all, absolutely brilliant, the other thing I noticed was how clean the villagers and roads were, no or hardly any litter, so different from the U.K. 👍👍👍

Good videos mate
Loved it – the honesty, the well-balanced editing, the music… What an inspiring and motivational effort. I binge-watched the lot over 2 evenings and am now seriously considering a similar journey to Languedoc from the north of Scotland. Thank you so much!
Nice trip! At 16:12, you pass right in front of my doorstep. 😅
