During our last day of bike touring together, Kevin and I pull into the charming town of Foix, France. It turned out to be a great place to end our 40 days of cycling together in Portugal, Spain and France.

It’s our last day of cycling together on our 2016 bike tour in Europe today we’re going to walk off full hot france we’re leaving at camp and now and i am winning the high-five contest already with three high-fives before 11 a.m. that’s pretty good yeah well that was a
Good little campground we were in last night it only cost us 9 euros for the both of us and there was like no one in that campground so it worked out really well so we’ve only got about 65 kilometers to cycle today to the city of flaw France
And yeah and then my bike ride with Kevin is over we’re gonna take one rest day in flaw so there’s today riding and then tomorrow a rest day and then the following day we’ll go our separate ways I will go south towards Andorra and then back into Spain towards Girona and
Barcelona and Kevin will go north north through France up maybe to Belgium and then into the Netherlands so that’s the plan it’s gonna be weird to be on my own again after the last 40 days traveling with Kevin and and other people but I’m looking forward to it at the same time
So I’ve really only got 5 days by myself and then I’m joining another tour an organized tour with a company called terrine Catalonia in the Garonne of Spain area my friend Ryan from the travel website applause the moment calm is gonna be joining me on the trip as
Well as several other people so five days by myself won’t be too bad and then I’ll be back with the group again and then by myself again and then I go to the Norway and Sweden after that so it’s still a lot of bike trying to come today
However it’s my last day of biking with Kevin so that’s where we’re going tois France 50 kilometers and it just started raining yeah exactly with me it’s raining really hard right now so we’re just kind of hanging out at this restaurant slash bar seeing if the storm will pass and then
We’ll continue on our way well it stopped raining or entering the town of Vermont France going up a hill right now getting kind of hot actually no still rain the rains coming now we’ve only got about 30 kilometers now – flaw just as I reached town Vermont France
Started to rain pretty heavily so I’m waiting for Kevin to come up behind me on under it I’m under a tree right here so just kind of waiting out the rain we made it to four four four friends all right we’re in wha France right now
And we have just spent the last 40 days or so yep cycling together across Portugal Spain and France and here in flaws where Kevin and I are going to separate and go our separate ways I’m gonna go south towards Andorra and gorona and Barcelona Spain
And then I’m gonna fly from there up to Norway and Sweden and then Kevin is gonna go north from here he’s gonna ride through France Belgium and the Netherlands and then that’s where your trip comes to an end right yeah I’m heading for the van Nicolas factory in
Heron vein and that’s where the bike will go back and and I’ll jet off home a bit later on in early July so yeah we’ve been together now for six weeks or so and been to the bottom of southern tip of Portugal and here we are in the
Bottom of the Pyrenees so it’s been a grand adventure what’s been your favorite part it’s really hard to isolate a particular part look it’s been it’s bike touring so some days have been tough in the Sun some days were tough in the sort of sandy stuff in Portugal some
Days were wet and cold some days were just straight wet some days we’ll be climbing but it’s all it’s all been fun look there I don’t have a particular favourite I’ve just enjoyed every day and take it as it comes and yeah look it’s just been it’s just been fantastic
We did three different tours organized bike tours in Portugal with three different tour companies Portugal nature trails bike tours Portugal and Live Love ride and I think those three tours each one of them really was a highlight for our trip each one was so different from the other and I really like Portugal
Overall I think of the three countries we visited Portugal is probably my favorite yeah I like France to the and yeah what else do you want to say yeah III like I like the riding all over the place I think Portugal we had a week in the Rhine unfortunately
If after that we had some magnificent weather and some sin absolutely sensational because this is really something else really well worth seeing it’s just magnificent and I really enjoyed those days down along the coast and so on in Portugal they were they were fantastic and the tour companies
Were great they really looked after us it’s extraordinarily personal friendly easygoing so I would never mind complaint Evans going in hypothermic State it’s about to lose a finger this is the little garage where they’re storing our bicycles here at the hotel we just found a hotel for fifty five
Euros a night we’re gonna stay here for two nights that’s good can you get past phony stuff put the pickles are you going in yeah you can go in hey hey very spacious spacious and modern much more much actually bigger and cleaner than I thought it might be yeah very nice
My shoes are so wet from writing in the rain today and of course like so many days on this bike Tirith kevin we ride in the rain all day and then as soon as we get to where we’re going the Sun comes out this is my favorite section at the
Supermarket the Mexican section back to the hotel room now for baguettes once again when in France eat baguettes every day what did you buy Kevin I get what else up again bread salad more Sally hi pre cups tomatoes what’s that and you got the wine this bottle of wine I’m carrying
For you all right that’s Kevin stash right yeah it’s pretty good we are going on a walk around la France so good as well yes I have a feeling every time I’ve said the name of the city I’ve said it differently check out this place I found can you
Imagine living here cool huh can you imagine that being bedroom yeah look at this this is the way Kevin is gonna go tomorrow north towards Fran northern France and Belgium and the Netherlands look at how flat it is now this is the direction I’m gonna go this is fois France right here where
We’re staying tonight and I’m going up there I don’t know if you can see that but those are giant mountains and there is snow on the top of the mountains I don’t know if you can see that on the camera but there’s snow up there trust me so that’s the way I’m going
Towards Andorra and northern Spain Garonne Girona and Barcelona so good view from up get up yester there’s a vegetarian kebab I just wanted to see what it looked like okay that looks all right how much was that and 550 out okay so the two balloons it’s okay Sam’s the feast event
