Riding my new 2023 MT-07 Home from the Dealership.

Join me for a quick ride from P&H Motorcycles in Crawley, West Sussex over to Ticehurst, East Sussex on a rather wet and rainy day. Share my first impressions and inane chatter on this sketchy ride on wet slippery roads.

Okay cool so just bought happy Christmas everyone an mto7 pH motorcycles first go let’s see how this goes so literally say just done the hand over feels bloody nice what a nice man letting me out well obviously we’re running this in but it shouldn’t make too much difference on

This I don’t think cuz it’s um it’s got a bit of power going on everyone says how learner friendly they are it just feels nice so he said I don’t need to worry about RPM but the manual I read said um keep it below 5,000 RPM for the first

600 miles and Below 6,000 RPM until 1,000 Mi we probably going to do that to be honest all right brand new tires wet Road Story of My Life H so if I’m coughing and wheezing and sniffing and stuff like that down here forgot it’s London in itone dries

Like flipping idiots yeah a very Ginger first roundabout say it’s wet and these tires have got three miles on them oh it feels lovely mate I like the riding position I was a bit worried that wouldn’t be great uh I’m kind of sat on it but it’s never quite the same mat you’re

Actually riding along is it so yeah yeah unfortunately the staff were outside having a cigarette break then I think so I didn’t really want to stand around like an idiot trying to do an intro so you got the walk up to the bike there you go so uh yeah purpose of

Today is obviously bike collection which is we’ve done now it’s the 30th of December so I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and looking forward to a nice New Year um literally our Christmas was a bit destroyed while talking about that a little bit later I’ve got the lury as

Well so if I’m sniffing into the mic and coping a bit do apologize in advance I’ll try and cut as much as that out as I can um but yeah mto7 2023 model and um yeah it feels very short but it feels nice I’m liking it already it’s a very nice riding position

Very neutral um seat feels all right I’ve got the Comfort seat waiting for this at home it’s not the ideal day for a pickup as you can see it’s been a bit rainy the last few days so there puddles on the ground and stuff and it’s um it’s forecast for intermittent rain

Throughout the day so is what it is nobody is all right third gear will be good it’s stiff this bik hopefully it’ll loosen up it was me or the bike we’ll see find out w’t we but yeah so got the Comfort seat I’ve got I’ve

Been buying cuz like I say I’ve been ill over Christmas so what I’ve been doing I’ve been sat on the internet of course buying stuff for the bik knew was collecting today oh de here we go all right let’s take this nice and slow underwater straight away

Yeah I think it’s a for gun conclusion is going to be getting its first bath today this bike but hey h it is what it is so yeah I’ve been buying things for it already I bought what did I get got an RNG padic stand I got

RNG Crush protectors the ones that go on the side the arrow ones that go sort of like near your engine and what else did we get we got radiator guard that seems to be a must we got um a little fly screen for the front just to tidde it up a little

Bit what else did we get I’m sure there’s more oh got an EVO te um get rid of these mirrors got some bar end mirrors and S of like um they got like lever protectors come around which look quite cool um I got Evo tail TI here as

Well so we’ll get that shoved in there so yeah um lots lots of little extras going on to this but nothing too extreme just the stuff which will hopefully keep it nice and protected just keep it happy quite liking the screen I’ve got it on the touring thing at the moment

Which has got like the analog rev counter which well I prefer at the moment I don’t know we’ll see how we get on we try both of them it’s weird you know ride at 125 at these sort of speeds and it feels pretty planted I don’t know if I’m just a bit

Nervous on this at the moment but I’m sure that will go in fairly soon I I was like that on the5 to start with I think brand new tires and the fact that we are on wet roads is just tweaking my psyche a little bit oh got sound like I’ve got a

Smoker’s cff at the moment yeah Mrs a is right behind me which is nice plan is to take it nice and easy this one of the reasons why we’re going down the back roads and not down the motorway is that um well the motor is

Just going to be one big wall of spr gray I think of all the other cars so I think um even though these RS might be a bit dirtier think the bike end up being slightly cleaner and I think I will as well because there just not quite so much

Spray on these ARS find your own little place that’s the plan we’ll see how well it works I found one lot of standing water so far so may not be the best way to do it but we’ll see so yeah talk about that so yeah our

Christmas oh God so I decided last year I got a really stinking cold on you on Christmas Eve and it pretty much destroyed my love of food etc for Christmas day uh Christmas Eve Christmas Day and Boxing Day Etc so I was like that’s not happening again and I thought why did I

Get cold cuz I never ever get cold and um figured out probably CU I’m part-time so had a bit of time off and it’s Christmas coming up and everyone’s having little drinks here and there and this and that so we drinking bottle of wine every couple of days and all I know

It probably just did that just slightly Beyond where well well beyond what I would normally do and um as a result I think it probably just lowered my immune system a little bit so far right I’m not doing that again so when IED up to Christmas didn’t touch any alcohol at all

Horsey be nice to the horsey oh God so yeah so so decided no alcohol this Christmas well not until the main event anyway so we didn’t and then um kids got cold and Miss’s got a stinking cold Miss Works in a school so she brings all the bits and Bob time so

I was like oh here we go so it gets time for me to sort of um finish work I managed to get away with it I’m thinking good anyway we decided um we were we went to forur just for a little break we only for a few nights and

Everyone on the planes coughing and spluttering was like snotty toddlers running around running up to you and coughing at you and I was like for God’s sake anyway I was fine get back from for Ventura within a couple of days I’m getting sniffly and all the rest of here

We go it’s coming yeah sure enough on about 21st of December I’m there mate I’ve got proper cold going on so but that’s all right cold only last three days generally and um not this way though so literally get to we went up north went to my mom’s

House get there and it’s like I’m full of this thing coughing now still got the cold now it’s developed into like a chesty cough as well oh I felt absolutely rotten on Christmas Day it kind of hit it hit its Crescendo I felt so ill that um we we we booked a Christmas

Meal in the pub I stayed in bed everyone else went I was knacked not good anyway next day boxing day feeling slightly better I still got this cough and everything um and then my son Sam he starts getting feeling a bit ill and all the rest of it and

Um yeah he ended up on Boxing Day evening in A&E cuz he kind of got this rash going on as well through it if I viral one it’s was like oh my God what’s going on with this Christmas so we thought that’s not great um and then we left on the 27th

And me mom didn’t say anything to me obviously it’s like 260 M drive to our house from your mom’s house we get home anyway my wife told me yesterday that my sister had told her that literally the day after we’d left my mama tricked over a rug landed flat on the back didn’t

Nothing going on there or anything but then had some started to feel a bit weird afterwards and she ended up in A&E as well so this Christmas has ended up with me two will to attend Christmas dinner and two family members in A&E oh my God so that’s what our

Christmas has been like uh I’m working on um New Year’s Day where we’re actually go sick for that at the moment I don’t know jewelry is out but uh yeah so we’re not really doing anything for New yeah so yeah a bit of a right off really

Mate but hey it is what it is what can you do so I hope you had better Christmases than me is what I’m saying cuz mine was a rubbish so we’re in lingfield prob it feels good the gears are a bit stiff in places so sometimes

Just have to let it chill for a minute to get it three of them putting that down to the fact that it’s literally got 12 mil on the clock I think the um the 125 is lovely in the wet it’s just like it doesn’t scare me

In the slightest I think it’s just cuz it’s the way it doesn’t really put down that much power so you’re not worried about it spinning up or washing out or doing anything unless you do something ridiculous whereas with this I’m just not quite used to it yet so is making me

A little bit nervous in some of the corners just cuz I’m slowly putting some throttle on just wondering what it’s going to do to me so I think that’s just going to be like anything it’s it’s um it’s going to take me a little minute to

Get used to just having a slightly more powerful bike after all these Years now apparently you can put quick shifters on these things that might be that might be a an idea for the future no it’s this going to going get a right it’s just the wrong place to do it anyway we pass him not such a deal for us a big deal

Anyway so I’m not ridden a four four stroke twin before a little bit viy in places but that’s possibly the way I’m riding it it’s not noisy at all you can see if you a crop of it on this thing it could be quite a lot of

Fun it’s Grid City down it’s bit it’s twisty but we seem to have placed grids on the Apex virtually every corner and where we can’t get a grid on we put some paint so it’s not really a biker sort of friend this place not that I’m going to

Be hanging off it with these brand new tires lots of crap on the road as always there you go standard grid on the Apex well not quite on the Apex you know what I mean but know it feels nice this bik really happy with it it’s

Um I say just it’s like someone’s nicked the front end now it’s like where’s it gone when I was seeing these guys ride on YouTube I just thought that was something that the um GoPro was giving you you know like a missing front wheel sort of thing I suppose it’s cuz of

Bikes that should have had this sort of stance have always had fairings on them for me in the past like i’ had the R1 and had the um zxr um the Rd can’t remember that though what a f car still around there last time I came down here I was on the

1 C5 and there was a u can’t remember what it was some sort of is she still there yeah she’s still behind me there is a um now it’s gone there’s a nice four-wheel drive shoved straight in that edge where there’s a big ho now someone’s obviously taking it Back so come through a little place called Marsh green in a minute uh it’s beautiful this is my old commute to work I used to come this way back in the day before I started in M way all the time it’s nice this particular stretch is nice it gets very icy sometimes in

The winter there but I think we’re to about 11° oh it tells me on the bike nice I’m not used to that 11° c yeah similar to what the car was suspension feels fine I was looking on the um the Yamaha accessories and you can get like O’s

Internals for the front forks and you get different rated Springs depending on how much you weigh I don’t know how hard you’d have to be riding this for those to be worth it cuz this feels absolutely fine oh there always one good on mate right so helness caught me

Up we’ll go I don’t want to sit behind that van getting all this spray that would not be good so this road is quite wet last time I came down it that’s Asda behind me can just chill out I think these delivery drivers feeling the pressure a bit at the moment

Say we’re out in the um a little MX 5 got a master MX5 at home an oldish one and um it’s not the problem is cuz it’s like a go-kart you actually sat on the ground so anyone that’s behind you especially a van the your rear window is

Kind of the height of their headlights and there was Road works oh my God it felt like it’d been it actually felt like it was parked in the car this a cardo van and um yeah I’m getting a bit grumpy with him actually not like me is it

Oh shiny shiny and wet two things I don’t like on new tires let’s find a grippy line if there is one there we go yeah so I think it’s going to be a little bit of a Muk off bath here this when we get home little bit of

Gt85 cool I can feel this moving around underneath me on this road I do not like yeah bit gc5 a little dry off little polish might even fit me fly screens put how cold I got stay oh dear it doesn’t feel doesn’t feel part of me this bik yet looking for it Yeah it’s all very civilized civilized sound I can hear a low Grumble I can imagine it’s going to sound amazing with a noisy pipe on this but imagine the old people on our road would not appreciate as much as I would still we’ll see the jewelry is out

It’s not out that far cuz I think I’m going to have a word with um some people I know and see if I can get it through anot with a noisy pipe and if and then that’s the way we’ll go but I want to wait until we’ve done the first few

Services before we do that cuz um probably going to need to have the um ECU flashed and things because even though they say you don’t need to I think with with a Decap pipe on these they do tend to um run a little bit lean at certain RPM which is going

To make that engine just run a little bit hot um that’s not what we want is It good I’m glad there’s nobody on these cuz I didn’t fancy getting pushed around these Corners by some boy racer got excuse me actually got the misses behind me which works out quite wise for this has these they’re quite polished these turns they’re they’re sweeping but

They’re not I don’t know it just doesn’t look like the grippiest tarmac there seems to be a theme with this ride me moaning about how little grip there is but I don’t know it feels all right there quite a sharp left coming up in a minute we in

Fifth actually these these Corners feel better than the the ones have’ been on so far yeah you can tell this this catches laser people out cuz it’s a very much a 90° corner and so so we put the grippy stuff down but it all seems to be wearing out I need to redo

It and this is one of the few overtaking places if you’re in a car followed by a pretty sharp right turn so you got to get you get your head into the F you’re going to be hanging swinging it around this corner the road Services down these part out so

Shocking nice little village people get very excited when you speed through here though not what I do that of course burning off some Christmas dinner makes you feel a bit guilty do It yeah it feels nice this mate I can’t feel once we get down and get used to it I think this is going to feel lovely really nice riding position it’s not I’m not thinking about it I’m making myself think about it it’s what I’m talking

About it but it’s like you know it’s um it just feels comfy yeah it’s nice seat don’t feel that bad but um I have bought Comfort Seats I’m going to shove on it anyway it’s got a bit of stitching and stuff it looks a little bit more up Market shall we

Say but no it just feels nice this bik right very nice I like it a lot but it’s good job in it spent a fortune on it oh look at that it couldn’t work out if that was just a little bit of water but it actually was liy Leaf

Trying s my front wheel straight on because I was looking at it school boy era never mind yeah this is nice mate I’m loving that thank you nice way to spray off a bin wagon just what you want isn’t it yeah this feels good bud I like that see nobody’s that

So this road brings us into the top end of tumbridge Wells um come this road there the steepish road and everyone parks on it’s called juk of York Road or something like that and that takes you down straight into the pantiles which is a nice little sort of Victorian sort of

Shopping sort of Precinct part of um the old tumbridge Wells area expensive nice though and um we niit through there was a horrendous roundabout to get round oh God which will be entertaining and then basically go flying up there out of tumbridge wells and then pick up the um Wurst Road

Which will bring us past the station and um back home right this is J York’s road we head down towards High rocks well what’s going on everyone’s having a bit of it no after you I insist no after you oh no he’s in the wrong lane okay fair enough fair enough let’s

Let be get Mercedes he was definitely coming through anyway so the dodgiest roundabout in the world this little thing cuz it drops off I remember because when I had an old golf when we first moved down there it literally nearly took the rear bumper off by

Cutting over the top of that I did it I only ever did it once went straight over top of it had a horrible grinding noise and a massive bang I was like oh dear that’s just on my car the power good it does stop you actually cutting over the

Top of it though so perh that’s why I leave it like that right this where everyone Parks think you you’re playing a bit of Russian roulette with your wing mirror if you park there though there is a paying display down here it’s expensive but I’d rather pay the paying display price and

Come back with intact Wing mirrors see that’s the pain display there oh looks like we’re on the same path is the high wheel Country tour Helen is still behind me she’s done well there’s a footpage you know come on man if you just pull forward like slightly

He obviously don’t want me to go down the inside unless he’s going left or he’s in his own little Christmas bubble probably now he is going left just not very proactively yeah this is why I always avoid this bit cuz these roundabouts are flipping horrible it’s a free for- all

However we like a challenge nice load of fuel down on the bloody roundabout there just what you want I might take H in while go through there o nice Challenger loving that don’t knock me off mate I’m just been complimenting your car have Challenger it will make lots of noise why not

Though yeah if there’s an American car to get I think that’s the one I’d like if I was ever going to get anything American which think ever going to happen these days what have we got 6 L engines or something stupid I don’t know but um

Yeah that V8 is nice took the V8 box had my V8 Ranger over didn’t I that was a 4 point oh m h x19 had one of them years ago as well that was unreliable in the extreme cool looking though but um yeah I think

Um V8 are just not not with fuel prices the way they are these days they sound amazing love them I had to take the box done it now wouldn’t have another one although I do love the sound of those things it’s one of the reasons why

I chose this bike to be honest because um when you hear these with like an I was call acropo a covich pipes on it but the not the one that Yamaha sells which is still got the cats in it cuz I don’t think that’s that noisy and flipping expensive like 1,600

Quid about maybe slightly less round about that sort of number and um he’s giving it large giving it large are we no we’re not we’ll keep it legal but yeah um there he goes oh M gusta K I want one stay there look better from the front than the back

In my view but does maintain that sort of Dodge carrot s those lights I think can he his engine more than mine but no there’s a crop of it Pikes on these things they just sound like a muscle car this this bike does it’s well worth of you I’m sure everyone who’s

Watching this will of YouTube that sort of thing they sound awesome and um yeah I quite want to do that speaks of one of our local garages now going yeah yeah we’ll just demate with one of them pipes on it’s going to happen it will happen but I think I want to run

This stock we’re going to run this bike stock for a year just so we not so if anything does go horribly wrong I think once you’ve done a year on it if it’s going to go wrong it probably should have done by then I I’ve got an extended

Warranty I got that as a freebie yeah so p& motorcycles was dealing this morning with a young man called Cameron a lovely guy to deal with um what can I say about p& really good position for me cuz it’s right next to work Um yeah so it’s right next to work uh from home that makes it a bit of a pain it’s about 55 minutes away and that usually involves a bit of Motorway riding and you got to do this journey if you want to come back across country having said that it’s quite a nice

Little ride out um yeah they got good stock in there prices are all right they seem to go with the amaha recommendation certainly on the new bikes certainly is competitive as anything else I’ve seen you know so yeah I don’t know right so yeah Pin C quite competitive the only negative I would

Say about them is they do tend to over promise a little bit and that’s not two examples website says Yeah by 2023 m07 will’ll give you 750 quids worth of accessories okay so phone up H mate would like to buy a brand new mc7 2023 please I believe that comes we 750 worth

Of accessories uh sorry that’s that um that promotion is finished now right okay whatever so I had to look around some of the other shops and stuff and um I imagine it was the same and it seems to be the same so okay whatever so right fine we’ll still do it we’ll see

If we can do something about it he said cuz when we looked at the price the 2023 was the same price as 2024 so um in the end it works out that they gave me a free stay there they gave me a free um EXT standard warranty which is

Wor 300 quid there about 299 I think it was and because of that you if you took the extended warranty you got a free um data tracker uh vehicle tracker data to vehicle tracker I know what I mean so yeah so you got a little tracker on this thing

Uh and that’s worth 350 so I suppose that’s 650 quid in it so nearly nearly there nearly a 750 was it$ 399 first general warranty I can’t remember anyway it’s was there thereabouts I still got about a similar sort of discount so can’t complain very happy

With the serice and then they said to me yeah if you one of the things we do if you if you buy a new bite you get 20% off anything in our clothing’s department oh nice so on the website I’d look oh helmet’s coming to clothing I wanted to get an RX7

R cuz um I think once I start getting used to this bike and the roads start getting a bit grippier we’ll be going a bit quicker so um obiously the peak on this then becomes an issue um so I was like yeah so I said I’ll

Take a helmet if that’s right and told him which one I wanted and he got back to said yeah CL got back to said you can we can knock 100 quid off which work out about 40 and half% I was thinking all right well it’s not 20% you promised me

Though but again I thought well you know it’s still a discount it looks around it’s one of the better deals around so again I’m not I’m splitting airs really but it’s just a couple of O moments but take those out of the equation it was absolutely perfect and the guy who um

Dealt with me was really nice today he was very thorough went through all sorts of stuff um which was great Um So we’re coming into woodhurst it’s not a roof down for day mate by any stretch of the imagination oh my God tell you what it’s raining and it’s 10° I’ve got a great idea let’s get our roof down certainly won’t be getting the roof down on the ms5

Today that’s calmer isn’t it for me taking a p sh so what best place to live in 2023 Sunday TI we also weren’t concerned about roads and Park parking is all right swe this red as you can see makes for some interesting Times come I’m letting you go do like it down there though it’s Beautiful it’s spit on off some of this power certainly in second gear second gear is not the one for cruising through town shot me off the back of the bike so we’re coming towards the end of our first ride I’ve enjoyed it what have we done

37 so it came through I’m 34 mil 34 so about 35 36 miles for the time I get Home thought Fresco coffee today is a bit of a big ask At least it didn’t absolutely bounce it down at any stage of that which is what I was expecting it to do to be honest so yeah thanks for coming on your first ride with me on this bad boy totally um enjoyed it it’s a comfy

Bike and um yeah I’m sure the more to get used the better will get so but no it’s it’s everything I hoped it would be really there’s no surprises oh my god look how dirty that is so first ride out on the mto7 collected it literally an hour ago

From p& motorcycles over in Gatwick um yeah 73 horsepower bit more powerful than anything I’ve rden for a long time it’s nice got a nice look on the front we got some screenage in at home which we can put on it make it tidy that front cluster a little bit but yeah it’s

Really nice it’s um it’s certainly not too small which was a slight concern initially you don’t really know until you’ve ridden something for a little while um you know for a short distance or two but um yeah it’s not bad it’s got stock eggs exhaust on it it’s going to stay that

Way for now um probably for at least a year um again just to make sure there’s no warranty issues and so there’s no quibbling and stuff like that plus it’s quite nice to have for contrast down the line so yeah we like it very nice it’s

Got the um it’s a science storm it’s a 2023 model um bog stock standard yeah it feels very nice enjoyed riding it go home and get all this crap off it now oh dear me all right then thanks for watching my inan nonsense type videos and um yeah more to come
