I actually love the side attractions at cycling races. Even the idiots that run along on steep climbs, but they shouldn't interfere with the race in any way. If they stay on the side of the road, or run with the climbers at a safe distance I think the riders don't mind as well. As soon as these people start touching or outright getting in the way it should be straight to jail.
