[Applause] hey hey hey [Applause] Good evening and welcome to Gladiators TV I’m rig Warren your presenter and commentator for this evening for this Championship knockout cup quarterfinal second leg between Plymouth Gad Gladiators and the poor Pirates the Pirates of an 18-point lead from the first leg at wimbor Road last week but

Plymouth will be trying to haul that back they beat Paul here in the BSN series just a couple of weeks ago 4644 so uh they have got previous against Paul at home this season both sides are full strength Richie W who missed that meeting he’s back in the

Lineup this evening and uh his twin brother Stevie is back from illness to line up for the pool Pirates there should be an excellent night between these two West country Rivals meeting for the fourth time this season looking forward to some tremendous action on the track let’s hand you across to Andy in

The pits who’s got some interviews okay thanks very much Nigel we come into the pits and Neil midic manager of Paul Pirates 18-point lead it’s a good start yeah it is I mean I’m I’m certainly not over you know super confident I mean yeah it’s a good lead

It’s we we should be able to hold it but you know they last time Dan Plymouth had a 16-point lead over us um early doors you know we managed to pull it back so I’m certainly not going to underestimate them that’s for sure now I’ve seen you

In the pits there sat talking to the guys um how much are they keyed up for the start of this match you you just said about the beginning of the last one so you don’t want to be caught like that no well that’s that that that’ll be my

Sort of you know track talk really just be you know we need to sort of maintain it early doors no last places really know I think if uh I take three hours all night long if that’s the case but obviously we want to we want to get some

Points in the bag early doors and let Plymouth continue the chasing great form that the Pirates are showing so far this season you must be happy with the team as a whole yeah very much so I think you know the key for us at the moment is the

Fact that we’ve got seven boys who are all scoring points every meeting um you know it’s the reserves KL and Adam are doing a great job at the bottom and and and I’ve said it time and time again reserves win your meetings and we know that the cook boys uh Lodge at your

Place as well so I’m sure there’s a many a discussion over the dinner table um uh what’s their thoughts coming into tonight yeah I think I mean they they Prov to be a really formidable pairing Zach and Zack and Ben and long may it continue you know it’s um it’s they’re a

Good pair they sort of ride well together and and and I think it’s proved to be a key factor and it’s great to have Steve back as well tonight yeah he’s not 100% if I’m honest I mean he’s he’s a bit poly he’s very chesty and and

Throaty but you know he can’t afford to miss a meeting because if he does um through sickness he gets a 7-Day ban which seems a bit harsh to me um but but yeah he’s here tonight but say he’s not 100% okay well uh wish you all the best

Um and go out there lovely Entertainment Tonight cheers thank you very muchers NE cheers okay Ben we’ve just heard from Neil middleditch their side is really up for this one what about the Gladiators so are we you know it’s a must win for us you know we got whatever points to

Catch back 18 18 yeah that’s right is it Scout there get stuck in from from the word off and your form that you’re bringing into tonight you’ve really really hit form the last few weeks haven’t you you must be feeling great on the bike yeah I am you know I’m still

Not racing enough you know I haven’t raced since last Wednesday so it’s like nearly 10 days off so we need to be riding more but you know we just got to go out there heat one get off to a good start get the young boys firing if we

Can get heat two is important heat for us tonight I feel that’s where the meeting is going to be won or loss if I’m if I’m honest um so hopefully you know we can get off to a good start and start from there the last time the

Pirates were here Jake Turner got out and he won Heat two uh You’ just alluded to how important that is we really need him to kind of do the same again really that’s it you know we you know KL Newman was a trump card for them down their place riding really well

So it’s um yeah it’s we just got to get from a good start heat one heat two heat three four if we get four race winners and pick up the odd third place and we all of a sudden shut the Gap by six or eight points they start twitching don’t they

Uh let me ask you how much do you want to get through to the next round of this cup I want to get through every competition I want to get to the final of everything um and to beat Paul it it would be nice on a two-legged thing and

You know then we got them in the league so it will show them that we can get the bonus point over them in the league as well you know with that with the new structure this year you’ve had a chance to have look at the track we know that

You always come down here early on Race night what’s your thoughts going into the uh track tonight yeah it’s obviously very difficult to prepare a track in the sun everyone says oh it should be easy but it’s not because it’s hard to get water into it because Sun’s just burning

It off but the track does look very good if I’m honest gate one looks like it’s going to be an absolute rocket ship gate one looks normally it’s gate four early on here but if I’m honest gate one looks really really good from the off so be

Interested to see if it happens in heat so take it you’ve already spoken to co co and said if you win that toss don’t even look back just take one and three yeah I mean that’s it you know that’s what we got to do I know it puts Kyle

Off a gate three and gives away gate four but gate one is by far the best so we got to use it early and then hopefully it’ll die off when we got the Run of two and four well all the best tonight uh on a personal level and a

Team level as well it’s have some great racing out there tonight here at the Coliseum yes thank you thanks so much Andy Let’s uh look at the two team lineups for this evening both sides are at full strength this evening number one for the Gladiators their Skipper Carl harth who is banging

Form at the moment number two is Dan jilks number three Paul Stark number four is Ben bar who picked up three fantastic Heat wins at wimborne Road last week number five Richie War fresh from his victory over none other than EML cenov last night riding in the Premiership number six Jake Turner

Number seven is Ben trigger and the team manager is Gary May over to the PO Pirates where they’re welcoming back their Skipper Steve warl who missed a meeting this week through illness Anders row is at number two then come the Cook Brothers Ben at number three and former

Plymouth Rider zap at number four Richard Lawson a regular guest here last season is at number five another former gladi Plymouth Devil’s Rider kle Newman is at number six and Adam Ryan is at number seven team manager is Neil Mich so two and four it is for the Gladiators so not what Ben Barker wanted but Skipper Carl harth coming to that decision with discussion with his Riders I think with Ben he’s he’s kind of like a whip it anyway and he’s he’ll just crack on with it and uh Steve W Anders

Row number two for the Pirates Ben Cook brother who was riding for Peter I his brother Z former gladi Richard Lawson who’s done plenty of laps around here as a guest number six is K Newman and then we got two former Plymouth Devils Riders K Newman at

Number six and Adam Ryan at number seven a real power P Reserve pairing onto the uh the home side Carl Howard KL Howard the skier’s been piling up the points here in the last few meetings Dan J had a fantastic meeting here last week Stark obviously testimonial this

Season Barker Ben Barker in great form at Winborn Road last week Young new zealanders Jake Turner so number seven they missed that Richie W there but it’s Jake Turner at six Ben trigger at seven and the Riders get pushed off just to uh have a lap of this circuit [Applause] [Applause] Yeah let’s just run through the lineup Anders Row for the Pirates in yellow off gate one in Gate two Dan jilts for the Gladiators in Blue in White Off gate through is the Paul Skipper Stevie WL and off gate four in red is the Gladiator Skipper Kyle

Howth Stevie walls just rolled back a bit just uh start Marshall telling him he’s got to get up and we’re all ready now for the start of this knockout cut quarterfinal second leg that’s a good gate from Carl howth howth he got ahead of the two po Riders

Anders R is in second place Stevie war in third Dan jil’s at the back but har beats us over at the end of the first lap I think uh Dan kind of got his nose chopped off a little bit there in the first Corner which obviously is

Relegated him to the back but um yeah I mean I was saying Anders Rose is probably the one to watch with the pool in this Team Howard leading and Dan JS well look like Dan JS is pulling up at the back there but uh whether he had a was I think he might have been filled in but he’s uh picked up the pace again now and how feeding out front got a good Gap

Here on Anders Rowan thr any mishaps here this is going to be a 33 Heat Advantage harth crosses the line in first Anders row second wall in third it’s red yellow white and it’s Dan JS coming home in four that was a fantastic race really um you know kle made that coming across

From gate four and and sort of chopped the nose off everyone um you know and look particularly very smooth going around as as did Anders and Steve to be honest I mean looking to when they walked over to Ben fre I I couldn’t really from that race see what what the

Concern was because there didn’t seem to be much of an issue going in um you see that the track there’s a a lot of moisturizer where you can see that the dirts moved out and I think tonight we possibly could see some very very quick times so first in red for the Gladiators

KL harth was three points Anders row yellow for the pirates with two Stevie warl one for the Pirates in third place and Dan jilks bring bring you up the rear so the first heat it’s a 33 Heat draw and it keeps that Gap at 18 points 39 to Plymouth 57 to

P off gate one in red for the Gladiators is Jake Turner just rolling up to the tapes in Gate two in white for the Pirates is KL Newman gate three for the Gladiators in blue is Ben trigger and in gate four for the Pirates is Adam

Ry 33 in the first race this is Heat number two for the Pirates Adam r as we saw KL how shoot away from gate fork and Adam Ryan repeat the trick in this one and the tapes oh tapes are up Jake Turner’s helmet has caught the tapes the red lights are

On it’s uh not 100% sure what happened there but the the uh the peak of uh Jake turn his helmet just catching on the tapes there and obviously referee having no option there obviously no Jake Turner we’ve got Ben trigger off the inside in blue Kyle Newman is uh off gate

Two in white for the Pirates so here we go with heat two that’s a great game from Ben Trier he gated really well the two Pirates have come around the outside of him and got ahead but he’ll be pleased with that gate Jake Turner just tried to close up

At the back but it’s the pul Pirates Joe Ro in leading first with Kyle Newman in second place Jake turn you can see just uh come AC CER there managed to get his bike back up yeah Jake has picked himself up thankfully uh just caught the air fence

There maybe trying a little bit too hard but uh it’s a big gap here over Ben trigger for the Pirates Joo Roy in leading with car Newman in second place it seems to be something catching uh he caught R in out the lap before that as well he’s a little bit

Apprehensive going into the corners um obviously it’s paid off cuz they’ve got the 51 but um it was a bit of a a weird heat that one it was yellow white blue is the finishing order there Ryan winning it with KL Newman second and Ben trigger third and of course Jake Turner

Failing to finish after falling off at the back but uh he was probably trying too hard there wasn’t he Turner yeah I think you know especially coming off that handicap straight away you know you’re kind of up against it so you need to try and uh Adam Roy in first in

Yellow with three points K Newman second in white with two Ben trigger third in blue with one point Jake Turner failing to finish that’s a 5-1 to the PO Pirates they’re now leading here by eight points to four this doesn’t look very good for Jake turner He’s just hobbling very

Painfully looks pretty innocuous that crash didn’t it but he’s uh he’s badly hurt his leg here he can barely put any weight on it at all so Ben cook for the Pirates in white off gate one it’s Ben Barker in blue for the Gladiators off gate two Zack cook is

Uh off gate three in yellow for the Pirates and in gate four for the Gladiators is Paul Stark and of course all four of these Riders on their first outing of the evening great to get this fixture done and out the way this evening so under starters

Orders and the tapes go up and Paul starts made a good one but Ben Barker and Ben Cook on his inside very tight going down that back strike Ben Cook picked up a load of grip there lifted his wheel into the air but he’s managed

To get it down again and get his nose in front with Barker second and Paul start thir you can definitely see with Ben obviously those experienced rides he’s had in the Premiership counted them because he’s riding the track smoothly as hell especially with that lift but um Ben Barker in Hot

Pursuit yeah shck cook at the back at the moment so all the r is pretty evenly paced out over the track but it’s cook said he had a a moment of alarm down that back straight but he managed to control the bike really well doesn’t look like Ben Parker’s making too much

Headway here trying to close the gap and is going to be another 33 as they cross the finish line here so it’s Ben Cook Ben Barker Paul Stark and Zack cook and that also white blue red are the top three and Ben Cook will be delighted

With that one that’s got to be probably one of the uh best rides I’ve seen Ben Cook have around here he’s always kind of uh got the potential to do well around here but I mean say as soon as he got his his fresh air then he was gone I

Mean you can see he’s benefited from those Premiership outtings cuz that was phenomenal A so the winner of that race Ben cook in a time of 60.0 four in white for the Pirates second in blue for the Gladiators Ben Barker third Paul Stark in red for the Gladiators and exact cook for the Pirates bring you up the rear so it’s another 33 Heat Advantage making it

Seven to Plymouth 11 to Paul and the aggregate score 43 to Plymouth 65 to PO I thought a bit for staring that he kind of got his nose chopped off by burning that coming out of that turn too but um obviously with Ben Cook lifting uh it gets very

Narrow yeah it’s uh it’s not a lot of space is there on this uh particular Tru but because of that it gives us exciting racing so it’s ring off gate one in yellow for the Pirates it’s Ben trigger in blue for the Gladiators off gate 2 Richard Lawson off gate three in white

For the Pirates and as I said Richie w off that outside trap in red for Plymouth of course last time Plymouth took on Paul Richard Rich wasn’t here was he he was away riding in the uh Speedway European Championship qualifier and uh Gladiators that night

Covered Bay well for him with 9 plus one I think from the rider replacement ride so they’ll be looking for him to get a similar points Hall this evening start Marshall again just getting the Riders into place Ben trigger’s got Lawson and royan either side of him in Gate Two so here we go Heat number four that’s a great gate from Richie W just gets ahead of Richard Lawson who comes Underneath Him neck and neck down that back straight Richie wall has just got his nose in front going into Ben three and four but Lawson is up

Underneath Him and warl in the front see Rich uh Richard L Adam Rin coming down there but you could see in that uh first back straight that Lawson was trying to push warl right on the outside which infect give all dir yeah Adam ryin just coming

Off on the first and second Ben so Ben Trier is in third place at the moment royan has picked himself up and is carrying on but he’s a long way a drift at the back but Richie WL has race under control here it’s one a little bit wide

There but Richard Lawson not making too much ground on him here and Ben trigger is going to come home for a third place so it’s warl across the line followed by Lawson so it’s red white and blue warl lson and benri are coming home in third place I absolutely love watching uh

Richie War around here proper Speedway Rider proper Speedway style tacking the track looks fantastic on the bike that was a that was a really nice race to watch actually enjoyed that one Richie Richie W getting a great reception from the uh supporters in the home stand here at the

Coliseum and the result of the official result of that race Richie WL first in red for the Gladiators 50.4 6 second in white for Paul is Richard Lawson third in blue for the Gladiators Ben trigger and Adam Ryan did finish I think but he came to grief managed to pick himself up

But he comes in in fourth place so it’s a 4-2 to Plymouth their first heat advantage of the night 11 points to 13 and the aggregate score 47 to Plymouth 67 to PO just watching the start again they Rich done well really to get across to both of them there you can see

Lawson now just knows he’s there and he can just see him moving out to that outside line looking now tight it wasn’t you could have put a piece of paper between them there couldn’t you going down that back straight Steve W the last one to come

Round to the tapes he’s in the outside gate so in red for Plymouth off gate number one is Paul Stark off gate number two for the Pirates is Anders Row in yellow in blue Ben Barker for the Gladiators of gate number three and it’s Skipper Pirates Skipper Stevie WL off

The outside in White gate number four game just taking his time adjusting his gloves getting into possession and we’re underway and Barker has got the the drop on warl there Paul St trying to follow him through warl coming around the outside gets into second place but it’s Ben Barker leading

The way here Ro second Stark third and it’s Anders row at the back you see now obviously where Paul made an initial good jump and stuck that inside there’s definitely a dirt line building up now on that back straight so I think that’s going to have to be taken advantage of

But uh definitely not off the pace obviously Anders row giving Chase still as well yeah Anders row not out of this he’s closing the gap on Paul Stark down that back straight Stark’s going to need eyes in the back of his head here but Barker has got a little bit of a margin

Out front on Stevie W Here Comes Anders row again putting Stark Under Pressure yeah I mean you know it’s kind of like two races going on at the same time isn’t it but um looks like Ben’s just going to hold off Stevie uh yeah fantastic result again for the

Gladiators that one yeah finishes blue white red Ben Barker winning that one Stevie W second Paul St third and Anders Row in fourth place but uh well as you said two races in one there and uh the Gladiators coming out on top in both of them come on then home street fans give

Me a big cheer in blue your race winner is benker Barker getting a a great reception again from the Home Street fans new track record as well wow Ben Barker’s broken the track record 4919 49 49.1 n beating the time set by Richie WL at the end of last season so

It’s Barker winning that race and that magnificent timing first in blue for Plymouth second Stevie W for the Pirates in white third Paul Stark in red for the Gladiators and fourth Anders Row for the Pirates and that’s a 4-2 successive 42s for Plymouth making it 15 points a piece

And it’s 5169 on aggregate Ben will be delighted with that because he was not a happy bunny that Richie warl got the Trap records uh at the end of last season I interviewed him before the season started and you could tell that was on his uh hit list of things to

Achieve this year oh he was so close last year so many times wasn’t he and um I guess it goes to show you can have your cake and eat it too number six off the inside in white for the Pirates it’s Richard Lawson off gate two it’s the Gladiator Skipper kyl

Howard obviously three points to his name from that um race win earlier on off yellow for the Pirates is K Newman and off the outside gate for the Gladiators is Dan jel lot of uh start line gardening going on from Richard Lawson here he’s off the inside gate got KL howth alongside

Him and it’s uh Dan Jil and the outside Carman just inside him so we’re all ready for Heat number six it’s 15 points a piece here at the Coliseum and harth has just got the drop on Richard Lawson there clamped him on the inside so Paul sorry Dan jilks

Hasn’t quite followed him through he’s in third place with K Newman at the back but it’s harth leading the way that was a fantastic first then from KL completely chopped the nose off Lawson you can see Lawson’s in Hot Pursuit but In fairness Dan’s given Chase as well so

Uh yeah you can throw a tow all with these three at the minute yeah it’s very very tight for all the positions Howard sticking to that inside line Lawson Lawson keeping an eye over his shoulder almost trying to chase harth but also to protect that second position with the

Aggregate scores in mind and uh he’s got a bit of a gap now on Dan JS but JS should uh keep off the challenge there have K Newman and this is looking like a third successive 4-2 for the Gladiators as harth crosses with Lawson second and jilson third it’s red white blue the

Finishing order there the Gladiators are starting to pile up the points now that was a fantastic Race by car done exactly what he needed to do I mean obviously with um Richard Lawson coming off uh gate one he was always going to be a massive threat in that race so uh

Job done by the captain and he done it in fantastic style as well so Carl howth confirmed as the winner of that race for Plymouth in 51.2 eight in red second in white for Paul was Richard Lawson third in blue for Plymouth was Dan jilks and fourth in yellow for the

Pirates is KL Newman so as I said another 423 on the Trot puts the Gladiators in front for the first time this season uh this season this evening beg your pardon 19 points to 17 and the deficit is 16 points we’ made a little bit of inroad into 18 point deficit but

Still got a long way to go haven’t they definitely I mean you know slow and Ste just chipping away there um you know obviously the momentum’s building a bit now but you know we have seen this in previous visits by the Pirates where they’ve either started strong and dwindled but then come back

Stronger just looking at the gate stats tonight so well it’s obviously the outside that’s going very well three wins off gate four one win a piece off Gates one two and three so as we said confirming car how decision to take two and four at the start of the

Meeting so Heat number seven off gate one in red for the Gladiators is Richie War off gate two for the Pirates in white is Ben Kirk off gate three is that Reserve change for Jake Turner Ben trigger coming in in blue in trap three and off gate four for the Pirates is

Zach kku let to get to trouble the scorers so far for the Pirates is Zack hook which he looked very good in that first ride didn’t he he’d be looking to to add to that in this one he did obviously Ben Cook coming off gate two

As well had a a fantastic race win um look very comfortable and very controlled for his Fallout SP from his little lift but um no this this could make for um Ben trigger seems to have an issue there um oh that’s the last thing they need

Seconds oh he’s got a bike problem is only 30 seconds left can someone get another bike out to him it’s not a lot of time is it no so it’s very unforgiving I mean that that race you’re in it’s a minute long kind of seems like forever but then the two

Minutes all actually get seems to go rapidly quick but he’s doing a Chris Harris Sprint back to the pits here but can they get a bike out in time I think he might be timed out there a bring a bike out we know it goes well cuz it’s broke

A track record T right [Laughter] so if Ben can go and spend trick can go as quick on it as Ben Barker did he’ll be a happy boy is he going to get round in time can’t see any exclusion lights on so I think he might be okay yeah I’m not

Sure if the roar is still as long as the a bike is under power yeah on track within that time but um made it brilant oh well done well done Ben Barker as well for reacting quickly then loaning his uh bike out to Ben trigger then we’re under starters orders for Heat number

Seven Richie W making a good gate there Zack cook cutting back inside him on that second Bend and Zack cook showing him a clean pair of heels down that back straight great work by the former Gladiator there cook leads uh WL over the start line Looks like Ben Cook’s

Having some bike issues as well which uh who hell of a LIF there from war that was very well controlled but um no you know Zack cook made a a great start then he’s that lift he’s got some fresh air so um yeah lovely cut back there by the

PO Pirates man face faced out in this race as you said Richie WL had a almost came to grief on the uh with the fence on that second Bend and uh that cost him any chance really of overhauling Zach hook who’s enjoying as you said life out

Front with the fresh air he’s going to storm to victory in Heat number s so it’s yellow red white the finishing order with Zack cook Richie wall hold on to that God knows but your race winner in yellow for the Pirates is Zack Kirk y just good to see which he will

Just have a little Shake of the head there as he comes back to the pits but that could have ended quite nastily that let’s just run through the official results sorry Matt it’s Zack cook in yellow first for the Pirates second Richie warl in red for the Gladiators

Third Ben cook for the Pirates in white and bed and Trigger for the Gladiators bringing up the rear so it’s a 4-2 back to the pirates that puts us all back on level pegging again 21 points a piece aggregate deficit for the Pirates over the Gladiators sorry interrupted you

I’ve just noticed with richy over the last few meetings that he you can see there where he’s sort of got the whole shot um but still sort of like drifting out to the fence where the Riders on the inside have kind of got their wheels on

Line that a little bit quicker to give them that speed for the back straight but um yeah I don’t know if he’s just trying to chase that line when he won got the track record last season um you know but it’s you [Applause] [Applause] Know let’s look at the uh totals Progressive scores so far well the um the Gladiators sort of big three are all scoring pretty well so far Kyle howth was six Ben bark and Richie W just dropping one point a piece with five Ben triggers got a couple of third places

Too Dan jilks just one point so far Paul Stark 2 plus one and Jake Turner as we said had that fall just the one outing Paul Pirates well they’re spreading the points evenly as they have done all season Richard Lawson Ben cook with four Stevie W Zack cook and Adam ran with

Three Dre and Anders row and car Newman with two that their strength in depth is incredible isn’t it so off gate one in blue is Ben trigger for the Gladiators gate two Adam Ryan for the Pirates in yellow gate three it’s Dan jilks for the Gladiators in red and in gate for for

The uh pirates in white is Anders row and we’ve now got Ben trigger coming out to join the party I didn’t get a chance to look at the bike I it’s dirty so’s he’s managed to sort out whatever the issue was yeah good he’ll be he’ll be happier on his own machine

Here so uh 21 points a piece on the night I said still that 18o deficit I’m sure well the Gladiators probably at this stage thinking it would just be nice to go on and win this meeting and make it three wins three home wins on the charts here at the Coliseum but the

Start Marshal just getting them under starters orders ready for the start of heat eight Dan jels made it good one then Ben trigger is joining him off the inside that’s great work by Ben trigger just keeping out Anders row Anders row is just coming around the outside of him

Here he’s just got his nose in front but that’s encouraging from Ben trigger fantastic from Ben rin’s come down there but you know Ben rode a perfect first Ben there you know um yeah brilliant very proud of him that’s really proud of to see so great Dan packing winning ways

Again Adam RAM for the second time tonight has come off on the first and second B he’s parked his machine up on the center Green so uh he’s out of it so this is going to be a Gladiators 42 unless Andis row could do something

About Dan jilks at the at the front of the field but uh this will do uh jilks a power of good as I said he needed to pick up a few more points and he’s going to cross the line first ahead of Anders row Ben trigger third that finishes red

White blue stylish your race winner in red for the Gladiators is Dan J he’ll be delighted with that Beno w’t he superb that would be just as good as a race win you know I mean he’s eared his own points in the past but you know to

Be in the mix and just get you know the first time we’ve seen him come out of Ben 2 with his nose in front and that would do his confidence of worlder good yeah the referee just thanking Adam ryin for clearing the track when he fell

Off so first in red for the Gladiators Dan JS second for the Pirates in white was Anders Row Third superb from trigger for the Gladiators in blue and Adam Ryan coming off at the back there coming in four so that’s a 4-2 Heat win to the Gladiators puts their noses back in

Front here 2523 and the aggregate scores now Plymouth 61 pole 77 I mean just just sort of relaying on what Gary May said in the past obviously you know they want to win every meeting they can Home and Away um but obviously the the main focus for the Gary and the

Team is is the league so um you know I think as long as the boys can get as you say another Heat win on the Trot and build that that home confidence um it puts us in good step for wi the league go did you feel quick in that one um the

Differen is in that one you’ve got your wheels in line the whole time so that’s why it probably was quicker than it felt cuz of I’m going the long way around my yeah we just had confirmation that Jake Turner is packing his bike away so sadly that’s uh his obviously track work but

Even over record and the track that was supposedly not great this St is good code really is it yeah well we all know a difficult track at the beginning will create a better track at the end than it’s just gone to show you know the tracks turned over lovely there two

Lines one on the inside if you really want to get over it then you want to go right so credit as well I hope Jake’s okay um hopefully the injury not too bad and uh he can be back soon just a quick word on Ben trigger actually he’s uh seems to be

Growing in confidence a little bit tonight seems to be in the mix and battling quite hard yeah I see you know Ben he’s it’s a lot of an experience and he just hasn’t been at this level very long and we just got to get him into

Them first Corners you know and it does take time to just basically toughen up and put yourself about a little bit and that’s what you got to do at this level cuz you know it’s a job you know we got to we’ve got to be fighting for every

Point and he just hasn’t done enough of aring and such to to get stuck in yet but that will come I know you’re in the next one so I’ll leave you to your new track record holder is Ben Barker the starting lineup is Ben Barker in blue off gate one for the Gladiators

Richard Lawson off gate two in white for the Pirates Paul Stark off gate three in red for the Gladiators and it’s car Newman off the outside gate in yellow and uh I’m looking forward to this one it’s going to be a hell of a Race So the start Marshall just getting

These Riders underway bark already in position waiting to race away and Barker just gets there ahead of Richard Lawson Paul Stark cutting back inside Lawson’s very tight down that back straight and uh Kyle Newman also coming around the outside of Paul Stark Barker leading but uh Newman has snipped

Into third place as predicted hanar to hanle bar again Paul St kind of got a little bit nipped off in that one you know through through the see a red light on for some reason yeah the red lights have come on not too sure why I

Don’t know if they were on right looks like the air fence has deflated a little bit so off the inside in blue for Plymouth is Ben Barker off the gate two in white for the Pirates is Richard Lawson gate three for the Gladiators in red is Paul Stark and of gate four in

Yellow for the Pirates former Plymouth Devils Rider Kyle Newman who’s uh got two and one bonus from his two rides so far this evening barers just raring to to go already isn’t he off that inside he’s Keen for it yeah here we go the tap’s about to go up on heat number

Nine and Lawson has just got oh we got a red light has come on yeah I think Ben not jump but slightly just twitch at the start then um obviously definitely RAR to go run number n one minut remaining one minute remain all under Barker off the inside alongside

Him Richard Lawson Paul Stark off gate three and Kyle Newman off gate number four this will be the third time we try and uh complete this race Lawson’s got the drop as a barers pushing him really tight going into that first and second Bend Lawson just got

His nose in front Barker in second place K Newman coming up underneath with Paul Stark at the back but Richard Lawson keeps his nose in front of Ben Barker that was always going to be a hard first corner with them two there’s always a race rivalry but um obviously Lawson

Coming off the better there but Ben still piling on the pressure obviously favoring that inside line opposed to this last race but still going for it there’s a battle at the back Paul Stark trying to get the best of K Newman for third place Lawson’s opening up a bit of

A gap at the lead out front AR just keeping a tight line start trying to go around the outside of uh Newman but not enough grip out there and it’s going to be a 4-2 Heat win to the Pirates here it’s white blue yellow and Paul Stark at

The back shaking his head disappointed Paul Stark but uh Richard Lawson just getting his nose in front of Ben Barker there now was uh say han han our first Corner that which was completely to be expected um you know I think even in the the first staging of that that before

The interval it was very similar just on uh vice versa obviously Ben had the uh the lead over that but um official confirmation of the result Richard Lawson the winner in white for the Pirates in 51.1 N second in blue for the Gladiators Ben Barker third in yellow

For the Pirates K Newman and Paul Stark bringing up the rear for the Gladiators so it’s a 4-2 back for the Pirates in this dingdong battle it’s back to 27 points a piece Gladiator still that 18 point um Gap but um as I said I think the AIM now

Really in the last six races is just to go on and try and beat the pirates for a second time this season at home and uh give them a bit of a maybe a little bit of a psychological boost ahead of That League meeting here on June the

6th Ben trigger seems to be a little bit more on the pace maybe a bit more confidence under his belt now would you say seems to be a bit more with it tonight yeah heid all right you know we we you know Ben Mar talks him and that

And we get get try and get him going and that and he’s so young and remember he’s only done one one year in national league and that you know I mean and probably lack of meetings as well next week we’ve got Birmingham or Tuesday actually next week we got Birmingham

Obviously the plan for that as always to win and keep the uh keep the League points coming yeah that’ be the uh be just try and beat them as much as we can um uh obviously then it keeps us up in the league you know we’re going another

Two points and that and then if we can Hammer them then we got chance to bonus point away from home but we know we have to look see what Jake Turner’s doing and maybe use a guest anyone in mind ja was they a bit early to

Say I’ve got some in M but uh I’ve got to see if they’re available that’s the main thing yeah um give them a big cheers Gary May everyone off the inside gate in blue for the Gladiators is Dan jilks off the second gate in yellow for the PO Pirates

Is Z Cook Carl the Gladiator Skipper is off gate three in red and off gate four in white for the Pirates is Ben Cook and of course Kyle so far two wins out of two just running across the promoter to uh get that shut good for safety

Reasons and uh the start Marshall can now safely call the Riders up to tapes for Heat number 10 that’s a good gate on the inside for Dan JS got Zack cook and uh Ben Cook after him Kyle Hoth talking about his maximum I think I put the kiss of death on him

Because he’s at the back at the moment but he’s trying to make his way through you’ll find now that the two quick Brothers will try and team ride and get in the way for the remaining laps but you you see Carl’s really given the Chase and um I wouldn’t be surprised

If he does sneak past one of them yeah he’s hard on the tail of Zack hook down jilt leading out front he uh won his last ride and he’s building on that really well here he”s got Ben Cook just behind him Zack cook in third Carl Howard

Keeping Zack cook honest here but cook Zack Cook’s riding a nice line here obviously very familiar with this Coliseum track and it’s Dan jilz coming through for his second successive race Victory Ben Cook putting him under pressure as he crossed the line but it’s finished blue white yellow car howth just

Going slowly over the finish line but that’s a 33 Heat Advantage so Dan jilks winning time in blues 51.3 five second in white for the Pirates B cooku did his best to try and catch jilks on the line there Zack cook in third for the Pirates and Kyle howth

Sorry I mentioned his maximum it’s rather trash that he’s coming last and it’s a 33 Heat draw there and it’s still neck and neck in this meeting 30 points a piece and uh well you would put money on this going to a last Heat deider I think at the moment

Very possible it wouldn’t be the first time we’ve seen that R here would it um it was what was the 2021 season um when we had bani and Crump and uh I think most home meetings are a last the side of that year it was uh I remember B used

To drag going in 15 cuz he was like oh God the official lineup at the start Steve warl the pirate Skipper is off the inside in white Richie wall his twin brother is alongside him for the Gladiator in red and is Row for the Pirates in yellow off gate three and Ben

Trigger in the outside gate in blue so the first battle of this evening of the warl boys it’s that we’re probably looking at that battle of the whls on the inside Stevie on with it gate one and Richie off gate two under starters Orders Stevie has just got ahead of Richie and Anders row is cut underneath and Richie has been relegated to third place but good work by the Poo there to just move Richie out and Anders R slipping through no Richie is going to give it absolute beans now behind I mean Anders

Rode that line very clever he knew what to half expect and and completely took control of that situation yeah Stevie out front Rich’s going wide there chasing Anders Ro down that back straight he’s closed the gap a little bit it’s uh not making too much ground he’ll try get around that outside line

But there’s not really much grip out there it’s getting quite Dusty as well at the moment and it’s going to be a 5-1 to the Pirates here Stevie warl and Anders roow delivering the goods for the visitors so it’s white yellow red as they cross the finish line and it’s uh

51 to the PO Pirates that’s the first time this season that this evening really that someone’s really sort of opened up a little bit of a gap here yeah I mean full credit to Anders row then you know he read he read that you know race maneuver almost to a

Te and um just go through the official results so the bat in warl Stevie warl in white is first in 51.6 second in yellow Anders Row for the uh Pirates third in red Richie WL for the Gladiators Ben trigger in blue is fourth 5-1 to the Pirates and they’ve opened up

That little bit of a gap now leading here by 35 points to 31 got two on the TR so um but no you know that that was a good race I mean fair play to pull that you know you can see Anders again there in the replays

Didn’t make the best start but was kind of there or thereabouts and sort of had a look to the left as he went in and he he he saw exactly what they were doing and he took full advantage of it and you know Anders is a hard guy to pass when

He’s in front of you looking at the gates they a bit more even now aren’t they gate Four’s got four wins gate one has got three gates two and three have got two a piece so not quite the advantage for gate four now and that’s that’s as it always

Happens here really doesn’t it the the advantage switches as the night goes on just looking at the uh Progressive scores or the team individual scores Dan JS and Ben Barker Leading The Way with seven points jks obviously got those two Heat wins KL howth and Richie W with six

Ben triggers he said he’s got three two for Paul Stark it’s not been the best of evenings so Paul Stark and uh Ben trigger um oh sorry Jake Turner obviously that one outing where he got injured on zero and as normal with Paul as we’ve said before there points pretty

Evenly spread so here we are for Heats number 12 off gate one in yellow for the Pirates is K Newan off gate two for the Gladiators Paul St which is probably his last outing of the evening and gate three off white for the Pirates is Ben

Cook and Ben trigger again has got that outside gate gate four in blue it’s again quite a tasty line up underneath him so up to the tapes here we go for Heat number 12 for this match at the Coliseum and what a good gate there for

Ben Cook and KY Newman is following him home here at the moment Paul Stark in third Ben trigger just uh sloting back there into fourth place but it’s uh another 5-1 at the moment for the Pirates mean again how good does Ben Cook look at in front you know slightly lifting

Down the straight looking very stylish very comfortable and full of confidence completely different Ben Cook to what we’ve seen previously yeah he’s loving life out the front with K Newman in second place Paul start doing his best to close the gap on Newman it’s trying the outside line but

There’s not a lot of grip out there now it’s the surface has got quite Dusty trying again around Ben’s one and two but but uh I think Kyle Newman has got the uh Second Place wrapped up start trying once more but it’s a pirates one two across the Finish Line it finishes

White yellow red and Trigger at the back and a second successive 5-1 for the pirates that sense of Dayja Vu is getting stronger he’s a bad Omen you are no but they are strong in the closing stage of the meetings they always are they always seem to sort of Revel in it

Almost it’s um becoming quite a nuisance actually let’s run through the official result it’s Ben Cook the winner in white for the Pirates in a time of 51.6 five Kyle Newman following him home in yellow in second place third was Paul St for the Gladiators fourth Ben trigger a

Second successive 5-1 to the Pirates and they’ve now got an eight-point Gap 40 points to 32 the aggregate score pretty irrelevant at this stage but they’re leading 94 to 68 so off gate one Gladiator Skipper KL harth he’s got six points to his name tonight off gate two Stevie warl the

Pirat skipper he’s got six plus one Richie warl off gate three in blue for the Gladiators he’s got six points and Richard Lawson for the Pirates off gate four in yellow he’s got seven points this will be very interesting this one for the Pirates Richard Lawson

Of course KL how did a couple of Heat wins last race came home last so R is taking an age this time to uh get up to the tapes doing doing plenty of gardening trying to get the right rut so here we go Heat number 13 Stevie walls made a good one there

Heading the Gladiators J oh KL Hoth almost locked up there uh thankfully didn’t come to to grief and the Gladiators Riders the second and third and they’re pursuing Stevie W Richard Lawson surprisingly at the back got a flyer then didn’t he um yeah you know obviously how and his brother Richie

Giving Chase it’s uh you know heat to be expected isn’t it got a bit messy coming out of that turn too but um no good race again you know uh Stevie warl out doing the business right in the right line and U yeah fantastic yeah heart stopping

Moment with KL how there on that second Bend almost locking up too much but it’s Ste W way out in front here Hoth in second Richie wall in third Richard Lawson still trying at the back but this looks like it’s uh going to be a 33 Heat Advantage Stevie W crosses the Finish

Line it finishes white red blue Richard Lawson just coasting over in fourth place so a 33 Heat draw PIR Steevie he really gated well there didn’t he Stevie War yeah he was like like a gr R out the G he’s gone it was uh you know it’s much easier obviously when in that sort of scenario I mean fair play to KL how then I mean he held

On to the B well that could have been a disaster waiting to happen that obviously confirm the official results Stevie W in white for the Pirates in 51. one9 second in red for the Gladiators KL harth followed home by teammate Richie warl in blue in third Richard Lawson at

The back 33 Heat Advantage 35 to Plymouth 43 to the Gladiators just off gate one in white is Zack cook in Gate two in blue for the Gladiators Ben trigger in yellow in gate three for the Pirates is Adam ryin and the new trap record holder Ben Barker

For the Gladiators in red off trap four well Plymouth need a 51 here it’s a tall order I think but uh to keep uh the result of this meeting alive and take it to a last Heat deci stranger things have happened yeah well we’ve seen Ben Cher

Gate brilliantly in One race tonight and get out in front of the Pirates Duo up against Zack cook and Adam Roy in Here so here we go for Heat number 14 Ben Barker reared at the gate and uh Zack hook has got underneath him barers uh just lifts again down that back straight manages to get his wheel down and a lovely bit of leg training around the outside and he’s come oh not quite

Almost all the way around the outside of Zach K very reminiscent of Dan a at the British final that um fantastic all action as Ben usually is so it’s like he’s riding a bucking bronco there isn’t it it’s uh he had so much power but Zack cook just calmly

Keeping it down on the track at the front he’s leading here in third place is Adam R and so this is going to going to wrap up the uh the result on the evening for the pool Pirates but uh some great entertainment there from Ben Barker in second place Zack cook crosses

The Finish Line it’s white red yellow and uh Ben triggers evening over I’d imagine he’s a tied boy after doing Seven rides tonight he’ll sleep well tonight job he’s only got five minutes to travel over yes so uh Zack cook he’s been uh very impressive in his after his first race

Duck he’s been very impressive the uh the PO Rider and his second Heat win of the night so he’s confirmed as the race winner in white for the Pirates in 51.3 for Ben Barker trying all he could in second place in red for the Gladiators

Adam Ryan who said a bit of a mixed evening by his standards picks up one point in third place for the Pirates and Ben sugar at the back so it’s a 4-2 to the pirates that gives us the progressive scores of 37 to Plymouth 47

To Paul that wraps up the uh the the win tonight on the night and obviously puts Paul through in The Knockout cut but we still got a cracking heat 15 to come I think if uh Ben could have rid that L that um line for four laps and

Hold on it we could have seen the track record go again then the speed he was making up but um only Ben Barker would hold on to that but it was a good race you know Zach Zach as soon as he got his wheels in line and you know sort of Ben

Recovered he was away and so it’s going to be Ben Cook Off the inside in white for the Pirates KL harth when he gets around there off gate two for the Gladiators in red Stevie warl in yellow for the Pirates in gate three and it’s Ben Barker in blue for the

Gladiators off gate four this should be a fantastic climax to what’s been another entertaining meeting here at the Coliseum it’s Paul who are taking the victory spoils but I’m sure har and Barker would like to and the evening on a race Advantage especially with Barker

Being on that gate four he’s going to be right where he wants to be from the get go so uh yeah interesting heat of course the last time we had heat 15 here Steve W was excluded when these two met so and that’s a great gate there from

Stevie W this time Ben Cook following him through but Ben Barker coming around the outside gets past cook can he make an impressional w at the front Carl howth trying his best at the back but W is leading again another fantastic race from Steve as you said last time you

Here was excluded didn’t have the best meeting he’s obviously turned that around tonight um Ben Cook pushing on again he you know he’s given Barker a running keeping how at Bay fantastic race again yeah KL howth is not giving up here it might be a a heat 15 that’s

Doesn’t count for a lot but howth is trying his utmost to get past Ben Cook at the Back Stevie W looks like he’s got this race under control out front again harth trying the outside line but not enough grip out there and he’s dropping back now and he’s uh settling for last

Place as the Pirates come through for a 4-2 yellow blue white the finishing order your race winner in yellow for the pirate Stevie warl and a massive congratulations to the poor Pirates Who progress on to the next round of The Knockout cup yeah the Pirates winning here by 51 points

And the aggregate score quite a huge 10575 in the end but uh but we have had some good entertainment here tonight the official result of that last race Stevie war and yellow for the Pirates winning it in 51.41 seconds second Ben Barker in blue for the Gladiators third Ben cook

For the Pirates uh in white and fourth in red KL harth trying all he could for the Gladiators but he just couldn’t get past cook and it ends with a 4-2 to the Pirates and uh well they progress into the semi-finals of The Knockout cup yeah

As I say the last two seasons uh they’ve also won that competition so they’re definitely uh getting through to the semis now they’ll definitely be looking to clinch that for the third time um and you know if I’m honest the way they’re riding at the moment I can’t see a lot

Of people really stopping them in their tracks but again you know you don’t know what’s going to happen over 15 Heats of Speedway um but no good meeting the score line definitely doesn’t reflect the racing we’ve had tonight um fortunately the TR dried out a little

Bit towards the end but say we’ve had a fair bit of win today so um that was to be expected but um no all in all good meeting hopefully Jake’s you know back sooner rather than later and um we’ll now crack on with our league campaign yeah let’s run through the uh

The scores so Ben Barker top scoring for the Gladiators with 11 kyl Howard with eight couple of Heat wins in there 7 plus one for Richie warl uh Dan jilks another good evening after a bit of a slow start two race win seven Paul Stark won’t be best pleased with three plus

One uh Ben trigger can take a lot of encouragement from his three points Jake Turner unfortunately picking up that injury just one ride and zero points for the Pirates solid all the way through Stevie W leading at out with 12 plus one from his five rides Ben cook with 10

Then a couple of seven points of Zack cook and Richard Lawson six am Anders row 6 plus one of this K Newman paid for seven 5 plus two Adam Ryan four and and uh I think pretty much every single one of them has got a race win or a paid

Race win haven’t they it speaks for itself don’t it you know um Paul Pirates just going on their welld deserved Victory lap I’m sure the sporting Plymouth crowd will give them a good Round of Applause as they always do it’s um so it’s one all between Plymouth and

Paul on this track this season so it sets up a decider when they meet here in the in the league as I said on June the 6th thank you so much Matty for all your help this evening I hope you’ve uh enjoyed the coverage here tonight from the Coliseum but it’s been an

Entertaining meeting the poor Pirates have won by 51 points to 39 10575 on Aggregates it’s uh warant here signing off for the evening hope you’ve had a enjoyable evening and do join us again next Tuesday for the match against the Birmingham brummies here a 7:00 start quarter to 7 coverage starts

Good night from all of us here at the Coliseum What
