Picked up an older vintage Trek and cleaned it up.. really amazing condition and hardly ridden with nearly no scratches or scuffs. This was the “decade” bike I used to ride against, but I stopped several years back when we had children. Decided I wanted to ride again and have fun staying fit. Always liked this color scheme and found one!
No it’s not carbon, brand new, or thousands of dollars. Some of the comments on these forums lead me to believe many people couldn’t assemble or maintain a bike, or don’t really ride. And some may not even ride much at all. They would rather just brag.
But it does have a carbon fork, carbon post, and I rode thousands of miles and didn’t several century rides on these bikes on worse roads than I have now. I enjoyed it and I am excited to do it again more casually now.
Haven’t finished setting it up. So no the bars aren’t adjusted from being assembled. Waiting for a new shift cable to show up – cap was missing and end fretting – annoying. Then I can tune it and take it out this weekend.
