We pass a major milestone on the tour reaching 1,000 kms cycled with our Giant Toughroad Bikes.

We couldn’t ask for better weather or easier cycling. It’s been a dream following both the Rhône au Rhin and the Colmar Canals. We take an extra day in Colmar, a city in the Alsace region of France. It was once a part of Sweden and then Germany before being reverted to French control in 1945. It is a very picturesque town and we were happy to take a rest day here before moving on to Mulhouse to start cycling along the EV6.

    Thanks for tagging along.

    1. According to your map, you went right past the AirBnB next to the Rhone-Rhine canal path where we had just arrived the night before. Perhaps I was looking down from our 6th floor apartment balcony when you rode past. That view of the bicycles riding into Strasbourg in the morning and back home in the evening is one of my favorite memories of our month in Europe. Or perhaps I was in the parking lot putting my Bike Friday together when you rode by. We were less than a mile south of the Homebox that shows up in the video. On your map I can see the slight jog where you crossed from the east to the west side of the canal. I got confused there every time. Maybe after another week in Strasbourg I would have gotten it right. We visited Colmar the day you left. I'm pretty sure you would have been gone by the time we arrived (by car). My wife doesn't bicycle, so I just go for day rides here and there. I enjoyed seeing a few familiar places in your video, as well as the view of what I would have seen if I had kept riding south.
