We are entering the Patriarchate of Peć, Orthodox Monastery in Peja. The place is heavily guarded. We went through two police stops. I thought that I would be lucky to use a drone, but actually this place, it’s a non drone area because of security reasons. It’s an orthodox church in a Muslim Kosovo.

To keep it safe, you cannot fly over it. You’ve got two police stops. First one verifies your I.D. and second one also checks if everything is okay. The altars inside just makes an astonishing view. And it’s just amazing. So the Church of Demetrius is from 14th century

And Church of Holy Apostles is from 13th century. The original walls are also from 13th century. And here you can also see the the palace and the souvenir shop. And now there is the question, is Kosovo really Muslim country? As you can see that those Orthodox churches

Have something like seven over 700 years. So I understand Serbs that when they are saying that it’s their land and basically that they lived here forever, they just wanted to stay, really. But unfortunately, because of all the tremendous time they were just taken out of this place and when Muslim invaded

And the Ottoman Empire had all of this area. They started to build mosques. And now Kosovo, it’s definitely Muslim. But what I can say is that I understand this tension between those cultures because they think that it was like their motherland. So if you think about it, you know, wonder why

I believe that all of those people should live together peacefully. So it shouldn’t matter what is your faith and what is your religion. So in Kosovo, you don’t use the right hand side of the road you use the side that has no potholes. We are at Rugova Canyon viewpoints

And walking to the viewpoint from the car park. This is just unbelievable. In a place like this beauty and rubbish, Rugova Canyon viewpoint We will go also to the bridge. Maybe we will see something else on the other side of the bridge But definitely

It’s recommended to go down the stairs to the restaurant and by the restaurant you can get to the water. So the restaurant is just almost opposite the car park. On Google map it says Rugova Canyon viewpoint so you can find it pretty easy

And then you can walk up to the bridge and also take some photos there. But definitely the best spot is down there … by the restaurant. And don’t use Google Maps in Kosovo for sure. Well, you can use it, but you have to remember that sometimes

It will take you into the one way street the wrong way in. And if the cars are going your way. You’re in the wrong place, and you have to reverse.
