We started this day differently. We got up early and at four o’clock in the morning we took a walk to see the sun rise and listen to the orchestra of birds greeting the new day. Our sixth stage has already begun. 72km we will be on the roads to reach Dresden.

As far as Riesa we follow the Elbe. Soon after, we are turning to the right and we opt for a path through fields and forests. We take breaks on the Jahna river in Pahrenz and Preisker before we head back in Niederwartha again to the Elbe which is leading us to Dresden.

In the former East Germany we found many works in the streets that sometimes forced us to take detours. Not long after Strehla we passed Riesa. There is a legend that explains the origin of the name of the city. One day, a long time ago, a giant Arrived on the bank of the river Elbe. Before crossing the river he paused, as he felt a discomfort in his boots. During his walk, stones and sand had got in there. He sat up, took off his boots and turned them. Thus a large hill was founded

Where the first houses of Riesa were built. Shortly after Riesa, we turn right and follow the beautiful bike path on the Jahna River, which in Riesa flows into the Elbe. The river and the pastures and forests beside it form part of an environmental reserve through which the bike path passes.

Yes we will stop, we will stop. Ah cool. There’s a little grass in the back, let’s stop there. Yay! Yeah, please don’t fall. Huh? You don’t want to take off your sneakers? No, let him go. The tree is beautiful. Yes, a willow.

Do you have any idea how many kilometers of bike lanes Germany has? No, I don’t, I have no idea. He doesn’t…. But there sure exists a statistic about it. Must have, ne? Thousands and thousands of that… Statistics probably only have the bike paths that… When I got home I checked

How many kilometers of bike paths there are in Germany. The official cycle paths made and structured in the cities had a length of 6,900 km in 2021. The unofficial bike lanes we use between cities and towns are well over 100,000km long. …bag, I couldn’t get it well out of the way.

I don’t know what it’s called, but you know, eh, what I wanted to say. More or less. When George says: “It is allways flat… …guys, you have to know George.” The windmill, built in 1889 in Pahrenz, is today a technical memorial. When we got there to take a break,

A small party started at the foot of the mill. Did you like the video? Subscribe to my channel below and give me a big thumbs up.
