He went inside outside he W him up he looked for the Gap and he bur through it I think he’s not it what the Finish [Applause] unbelievable this is good racing ladies and gentlemen Here the CR again for another po 51 good evening and welcome to the Pirates TV viewers this evening we have something a little bit special for you tonight I’m Scott Mitchell I’m your presenter and commentator for the evening we have the Steve warl testimonial now Steve has put together
Two teams one for the Pirates and one for the biew aces why are those two well it’s obvious the Pirates were the champions last year the championship the aces won the premiership so it’s a big head-to-head let’s over head over to the pits and see what Steve has to say about all
This so Stevie warl the night has come two attempts and we’ve now got it on second attempt how how do you feel about evenings like this a testimonial you just don’t look old enough no well that’s it you know I’ve been at it now um and I wasn’t even an early starter to
Be honest you know I was new to it um but I obviously transferred across some Motocross and what seemed like uh well you you look at the younger kids now who were starting out you know and I was what what have been 12 13 at the time
When I started so um here we are you know 10 years later and a testimonial Second Time Lucky obviously first one got rained off um if I could choose obviously I’m picking today because you know what’s better than uh you know sunshine in the speed uh Speedway and sunshine so you know I’m
A firm believer and things everything happens for a reason and you know we’re here today second time looky got a fantastic lineup you know 90% of the original lineup which is always good um and the addition of artum now which obviously to have back in British Speedway and more importantly my meeting
Um it’s just fantastic so do you look back at that do you remember that first ride when you you first got on it with your first race meeting uh to be honest I can’t remember me first race meeting I remember when I first started you know like um we bought
A bike off someone on a motor Services which we we practiced um went to Bon uh borrowed a bike off Les Collins I think it was at the time somehow managed to front flip it I don’t know how I was coming into one of the corners and just
Did a front flip so I’m not sure what went on then but um um yeah we went on eBay found a bike on on the met some block on the services who said he was British champion when we started to be honest everyone we met was British
Champion I was saying God how many of these are there you know like uh anyway snow ball from there and here we are and I think the riders that are turning out for you tonight is kind of this is how people think and feel about you and it’s it’s great that you could
Get them and and what a great idea to do the two Champion winning teams of of 2022 yeah it would have been nice to have just you know the original one to sevens which that was always my intention because it’s you know it’s the true the true teams that you know they
They both won the leagues um and they’re going to battle it out but obviously I get it everyone’s everyone has different commitments you know it’s really hard to get everyone together on the same day at the same time so um yeah here we are we’ve got you know I’m not discrediting
These teams that they’re probably stronger than the teams that won that won the leagues last year um you know I would almost say if you put you could put the pool or this Bellview team into the Premiership now and I reckon they’d win meetings so uh yeah no I’m I’m really grateful
You know there’s some fantastic guys here who I class’s very good friends who have all you know asked them once and and they got back in touch and come here straight away so and you being you because of how you started you’ve you’ve included some youth in tonight’s meeting
Yeah the the Young Lions you know I’m a firm believer in they should be here all the time you know you got got to be on the bike you got to be around the better Riders you got to be around the older guys like that’s what it was like when I
Started you know we we travel the country doing second half we’d be Adar and Edward Sheffield wolver rampton we we’d be at it all the time and and it it wasn’t just because we was going there any other track any other night where we wasn’t there was a second half going on
They had a mascot out before the meeting you could practice a lot more you you can’t do it now you I feel like that that’s where we’re kind of not really helping our youth so so you know bring them in get them involved tonight that’s
A big part of it you know we’ll get them out on parade with us and go out and do their races race in front of the fans hopefully we’ll have a a big attendance so well I’ve got to say mate I cannot wait for this meeting to start Zar
Laguta then you throw our little pocket rocket Ben Cook in that eat as well oh my goodness I cannot wait for the tapes of G to eat one enjoy your evening mate you deserve it and uh I hope you can enjoy it from riding as as much as you

And I can be here to support him cuz he’s become a great great friend you know we traveled a lot the last few years and um yeah you know he had a bit of bad luck the beginning of the year with the testimonial being off and um
Yeah just looking forward he deserves a good day and hopefully a good crowd yes the second time of asking and it’s not very often like you say that you can get everybody second time and he’s he’s pleased he got 90% of the people when did you meet Steve when did you first
Meet him on on track or or was it memorable was it no I mean the first time we rode together was at pool so um but obviously we crossed paths plenty of times and we’ve done plenty of uh your guest booking here or there I say so um
But really the last two years you know and um we traveled a lot as I say you know he was coming down from North and we’d often meet and he’d jump in with us so um yeah we became really close and we’re still good friends now so yeah as
I say really pleased to be here and support him he deserves a night like this he doesn’t look old enough to have a testimonial just yet but um yeah the riders that he’s he’s managed to get together just uh yeah shows what Riders think of him as a person absolutely yeah
You hit the nail on the head there um it’s a great lineup he’s he’s got some fantastic riding is in and and as you say not easy midseason so credit to him and uh he fully deserves it so yeah his fingers crossed he has a good turnout I

In like artam and that and and M so look you know it’s going to be a big night and uh you know and thoroughly deserve for Stevie you know every guy that can that can do at least 10 years in this sport you know deserves it for sure

First pter call but Speedway with averages that’s how it works and you know they have to do what’s best for the for the club so and again they they’ve put together another top side you know and the and the table suggests that so um but yeah I look forward to coming

Managed to find time to put himself the captain aside at number four Danny King he was Steve’s travel partner for two years while riding together here at pool I wonder if they travel down together tonight at number five Richard Lawson the rocket man makes Steve’s Pirates select team retaining his number five position
Number six is Andis row he comes in as a late placement for an injured Carl Howard and at number seven Zack cook is at the reserve yes I did say that Zack cook is at reserve and team is man managed as usual by Neil middleditch so
We move over to the biew aces at number number one Matty Zar he first rode in the UK in 2003 former GP star has been a regular at the aces since 2013 at number two Tom Brennan the 22-year- old British young rising star has been with the aces now for the last
Three seasons at number three roor sine the Aussie veteran racer came out of retirement in 2023 but had two stints at the aces before that at number four Charles Wright he’s been a BW Ace he’s been in BW AC’s race colors for three seasons and um since 2019 and he was
Also British Championship that year number five Chris Harris the aces Rider in 2012 he’s also a three-time British champion and a big crowd favorite here at wimbor Road number six Kyle Newman came close to jacking Speedway in a couple of seasons ago now back at his spiritual home the Paul Pirates and
We’re seeing the very best of him once again at number seven noric blor the young German in his second season in British spayway having been part of the Bel team on both times and team manager is Richard Cotton so here we are you join us live at wimbor road you can see the Harley’s there ready to bring the some teams out this evening it’s all about Stevie warl and uh what a glittering career he’s had things are all a little bit different this evening as you can see we

For the Pirates tonight yeah Chris Harris probably one of the two of the biggest things that happened here at wimbor Road 2010 him getting run over getting back up for centry and winning the elite league as it was then for centry in 2018 that pass move on the last Corner

For KL Newman in third in red was Anders Row for the Pirates and in fourth with Zack cook in blue so match score after Heat number two six to the Pirates six to the aces Pates thees have a look at the start there and the the aces pair really were away the
Dwn came across Newman and Newman really had to scrub his speed off there try and keep it down to so here we go it’s heat three and in Gate one in white for the aces will be Rory sline in Gate two in blue for the Pirates will be Danny King
In gate three in yellow will be Charles Wright for the Aces and in gate four Stevie warl in red for the Pirates a testimonial boy So here we go heat three we are underway and it’s a good start from warl on the outside gets across the top of Charles right then coming through in blue is Danny King he gets the better the Rider in white and then goes and gets a better of Charles right in yellow so the Pirates now on a 5-1 Danny King now takes Chase Charles wri not giving it up he’s going at Danny King there team makes it red car this year
But you wouldn’t have thought it after that first heat Danny using a bit of wisdom there to get by on the inside Charles right hav given this up but he’s only got half a lap to do anything about it Kings drift wide right tries to come up the inside but it’s a

Points in second in blue is Danny King they are charging Danny King on that first lap in third was Charles Wright in yellow for the Aces and at the back was Rory sine in white for the aces so the progressive SK Heat score after race three is 11 to the Pirates
Seven to the aces 59.63 59.63 so Pat four on the inside in yellow we have Nar leor he’s already won one in Gate two in blue we have Anders R for the Pirates in gate three we have Chris Harris in white for the Aces and in gate four we have the Rocket Man
Richard Lawson in red for the Pirates red Harris was having none of it so here we go then Pat four it’s the Rocket Man from the outside he gets there Anders row is on the inside Harris has now followed the Rocket Man round the outside so we have the rider in red oh he’s got a big big
Locker on the end he’s let Chris Harris through so it’s now Harris leading in white for the aces the Pirates fill the middle two slots and it’s noric Boran at the back trying all he knows to get on turns with Anders Row in blue it’s Harris that’s out
Front riding the place like he’s never been Away other than the lws of mistake there I think lson may have held on to him but Harris looks quick now that he’s got fresh air and he comes towards a checker flag it’s a win for the rider in white Chris Harris second is red third is blue fourth the rider in
Yellow that’s our first draw in heat of the evening out there is your heat winner former pirate Chris Harris and he will get rapturous Applause from the Pirates fans here in the main grand Stand so here’s our heat for confirmation of the result it’s a win for Chris Harris in white second was the rocket Richard Lawson for the Pirates in red third in blue was Anders row and fourth in yellow was nor blor the match score after heat four is 14 to the
Pirates 10 to the Aces so a little delay there he was having to work with the track crew track staff when he came in just having a word with the other Riders there so he’s obviously for something to be done big big crowd in tonight Tom Brenan up a point in heat
One and there you can see the Pirates faithful just basking in the sunshine so yeah there’s the man in question he’s having a good chat enjoyed being in this side of the pits Danny couple of great seasons here there the man of the moment still getting text I expect

When I broke my nail
