Bit of a long one, but the close pass is at the start, and the ensuing conversation at the end. Apparently I should have been in my cycle lane, and put my life at risk by forcing him to close pass me. What an idiot. Hopefully the FPN and penalty points will help educate him, and perhaps one day he will serve as a useful member of society. Who knows.

He doesn't like your road position so therefore he can pass you dangerously close. Right.
That gutter lane does nothing but invite unsafe passes, and gives the cyclist no wriggle room at all when when the inevitable unsafe pass happens. No wonder you’re not using it. No sensible cyclists would.
He could have used the right-turn lane, had plenty of room to pass safely. A textbook punishment pass, I really hope they get some punishment for that.
The road design sadly doesn't help. I wouldn't use that 'cycle lane' either. If they got rid of the right turn lanes, hatched central reservation and the pedestrian islands, then the cycle lane could actually be a useable width.
stupid bike rider needs to use the bike lane (reff to start of the video). complaining about cars being to close well no shit their not supposed to split all the way into the other lane when you are in the middle of a CAR lane when you obviously have a bike lane you can go in.
Either take the lane properly or ride in the murder strip, don't split the difference or you invite these idiots
Whenever I DON'T have my camera, I see the wrong thing. I saw a woman turn right at a set of traffic lights today, onto a major road, and almost hit the kerb as she did so – looking down the whole time. As she went by, I saw the phone being held in place on the bottom of her steering wheel, and she was still looking at it after straightening up and continuing to drive.
the bicycle lane is the issue, not fit for purpose and encourages close passes as drivers assume you should be in that little box full of debris and manhole covers. How do you fix this issue
I'm surprised they did that at the start. You're riding pretty defensively here and you're keeping a decent speed. There's no obstructions to the right. I think this driver was pissed off specifically BECAUSE you were riding defensively. If only they realised why that was necessary eh? 🙄
Why don't you ride in the cycle lane?
There's some lines on the floor there mate with a white bicycle in the middle, I'm not a rocket scientist now, but I think you might have to stay between those if you're on a bicycle…
Granted it was a close pass which is no excuse however there is also no excuse for you to not be in this particular cycle lane. It's almost entirely clear apart from a crack and 1 minor looking pot hole, fairly smooth and obstruction free. No risk of cars dooring you from the left hand side so I can only make the assumption that you didn't use it purely because you didn't feel like it?

The other day, in the supermarket a middle age lady was standing blocking the aisle, peering at some jar, with her trolley sideways. So I of course shoulder barged her over to teach her a valuable lesson in etiquette.
Perfectly fine pass. You passed the parked cars too close and too fast. You keep swerving off your line as cars pass.

This bike lane makes it more dangerous for cyclists. Cyclists shouldn't use it and take the lane or cycle on the pavement (responsibly as most cyclists are).
Instead off moaning about drivers being too close to you ,, drive in the actual cycle lane,, every single vehicle has to go over to the opposite side off the road on your videos ,, cyclists are dangerous,, think they own the road ,, they don’t pay tax, insurance,, yet they should do ,, electric scooters have to pay insurance or it’s against the law ,, the amount off times I’ve nearly had an accident due to cyclists is too many
