This last few weeks we have had storm after storm so needed to get out between Christmas and New Year and this believe it or not was one of the better days. On my own again today so decided to travel south for a change

The riding at the Wrekin is usually very challenging in the dry and respect to the trail builders who put these together, however in the dry are a different proposition. I was happy to be out on the bike and at least pedalling the climbs to burn some calories but the descents were a bit of a frustrating stop start affair either due to them being too tricky on my own in wet windy weather or fallen branches and trees here and there

Not like me I cut the day short finishing before 3.00PM which in reality is not a bad day but like to ride more towards 4.00PM and beyond if on a big lakes loop

It wasn’t the best day to be filming in very dull conditions with rain and mud splattering the lens but decided to make something from what I had and hope you get a feel for the difficulty of the full sketch conditions

    1. Happy new year. That was a tad nuts in those conditions on your own. Technical, slippery and windy. Haven't been out for a good ride myself for nearly a week, although I did manage a smaller ride with my cousin practicing some rather large drops. Going to get the Garmin 830 I think as last time I was in Edale and surrounding areas I got lost. Great ride though. It was pounding it down with rain and hail, horizontally higher up. We got blown off the trails several times. It was an eight hour ride, too. I think my mate was a bit done in by it because he hasn't been out since. Personally, I can't wait to get back there. Anyway, another good ride for your channel today.

    2. That looked pretty trying and challenging conditions Martin, and you got away without no knee pads biting you on the backside😅. I’m liking the commentary as well👍
