Hello all! Thanks for visiting my channel! My name is Elizabeth and I am a novice youtuber and bikepacker hoping to inspire others to pursue their (travel) goals or just to entertain. This video takes you on PART 2 of my bikepacking journey to Berlin. My goal is to bike all the way from the Netherlands to Berlin in 9 days. As seen in PART 1 (if you haven’t watched that one yet, be sure to check it out!) my solo trip started off great with lots of dog hugs and beautiful weather (most of the time) and wonderful landscapes. In this second part, however, this positive start is about to change…. a lot… Watch the video if you want to know more. And don’t forget to like this video and subscribe to my channel to support me!

Finally, if you have any fun experiences, a question or whatever, please leave a comment below! Thanks again for watching! Until the next one!

Hi all and welcome my name is Elizabeth and this video is the second one in the series of my solo backpacking trip to Berlin as the start of my trip was great day two and three covered in this video seems to change this positive vibe and

Causes my trip to take a different turn what exactly happens you see in this video so let’s get started After an okay night of sleep I woke up to the sound of raindrops falling on my tent I looked at my phone whether the rain would stop within an hour or so but it said it would only get worse therefore I decided to get up and get

Ready for the day the forecast of the rain didn’t really bother me to too much as I had experienced several times during bike rides that the rain forecast turned out to be more positive little did I know how the day would turn out while raining I gathered all my stuff

And already soaked I jumped on the bike today it was the plan to back from deanburg where I had spent the night to beeld since I was a bit cold I kept a fairly fast pace when cycling to keep my body temperature high I however didn’t have a sufficient breakfast as I

Couldn’t find a shop to buy something and I only had an apple and some nuts with me as I back through beautiful areas I could not deny that my body kept feeling more cold despite the physical effort of cycling at times the rain stopped bravely but never long enough to

Get dry or warmed up a bit and the moment I wanted to take a real lunch break and warm up I did not again as with breakfast pass an open cafe or supermarkets and stopping by the side of the road to eat one of my snacks was not

A good option as I would cool down even more at this point of the trip I was constantly in doubt about what to do find a shelter and put on some dry clothes and sit out rain or deviate from my rout to find a cafe or continue cycling until I found a place Since I couldn’t quite think clearly I didn’t actually make a conscious choice and so I just cycled on until I finally biked through a small village that had a bakery so I jumped off my bike and walked totally soaked inside and picked a rather weird combination of food a

Cheese cant a chocolate something and a Capri Sun comfort food for sure while sitting inside enjoying this lunch I got confronted with how cold I actually was while eating my hands started to tremble and so did my whole body it didn’t feel good however at this point I still had in

Mind that I wanted to finish the day this Baker was located in buts Lair and I already biked 35 km of the 75 in total so I felt like I was almost halfway there so I didn’t know what to do then I saw that my mom texted me half an hour

Ago asking me how I was doing so I decided to C her and she directly noticed that I was not doing well she gave me an advice that would change the plan I had in my mind and wanted to complete so badly back into Berlin by myself however being stubborn isn’t

Always a good thing so I decided to follow her advice I called my grandparents who were traveling with their camper in the same area as I was in and before I left for this back trip they already said multiple times that it would not be a problem picking me up if

It was needed like this so I did ask them to pick me up and doing so felt like a big relief on the one hand but it also felt a bit like a disappointment not only because I couldn’t finish the day what I had in my mind of course but

Mostly because the weather forecast for the next days but also like for the whole week actually wasn’t good so it felt like my trip was over at this point this mood however changed very quickly when they arrived and picked me up in the camper I could refresh myself and

Warm up which was much needed a cozy evening and night spent in the warm camper did me good and after waiting in the morning for the rain to disappear I got back on my bike the next day this third day of the trip was a hopeful one because the weather was much better

Than predicted like much better as you can see no rain and even a blue sky sometimes instead of leaving from beld which was my original plan before I got frozen due to the weather I left from but Pont the goal of the day was there

Only 25 km to H so I try to enjoy every second second of It Leaving b bearmont i bik to a place called lenson which is a village with typical and beautiful German houses I had already seen a lot so Far Then I encountered some beautiful landscapes which made me again realize why I love bike packing so Much [Applause] A A after crossing a lot of nature I come across a place called kir hosen followed by hen Hosen I’m really sorry for all the German speaking people out there for how I pronounce these Names and then I arrived in haml despite the good weather my grandparents and I had decided Ed to meet again for the night as I really liked spending time together and cuddle with their dog but also because the weather was still predicting the worst that was it for

This second part of my trip to Berlin if you want to know how this bike packing trip continues and if I make it to Berlin then like this video And subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out next week’s video thank you for watching and see you Later I don’t know how to say that but but when eating while Eating well

    1. Hi Elizabeth, more feedback. I feel as if I’m watching a documentary and not a personal journey. I would be great to hear your thoughts and reactions first hand rather than through narration. I know it’s early days in your video making, but I think feedback is important. Some may disagree with me and that’s okay. Stay strong😊

    2. Hello Elizabeth,
What a nice video you have made again. Every week is a treat to see your account of your trip to Berlin.
Keep up the good work. As a starting Youtuber, you're doing a great job!

    3. Interesting journey. I'm not surprised you got so cold in the wet, probably made you feel shaky. I always keep protein snacks handy to prevent the shakes even if you can't find a shop, like cheese, nuts, tuna, peanut butter etc. Bread and cakes increase the shakes for me unless I eat some protein with it. Sensible decision to stay with your grandparents at night and then still be able to continue with your journey.

    4. I know the feeling of it all not going the way you planned and sometimes it's hard to listen to your body! I had to do that a few times on my way to Santiago de Compostela where I did mostly on my bike.😊
The nights with your grandparents in the camper looks really nice and comfortable!
      Cute little dog! 😊
      Keep going! Kaat

    5. Another great video Elizabeth, well done 🙂
I too, when I was younger, would feel like I was 'cheating' if I didn't complete EVERY mile by cycling, but experience has taught me that struggling on (for whatever reason) through a bad time can ruin the fun of a trip, especially for less experienced cycle tourers.
Forget about your heart on these occasions, and listen to your brain 🙂
      Cheers 🚴‍♂️👍
