Peaks MTB – Cut Gate ‘You Gotta Be Crazy’

Always looking for places I haven’t been at all or in a while that offers some fun and tech with a round trip in a day from my base in Wigan. When riding on my own I’m typically disorganised in an organised fashion so on Sunday morning which is the day I tend to ride at weekend when loading the car wondering where today would take me, Cut Gate went through my head. I’ve done this many times and after later checking did it last in 2020 and 2021 but the edits didn’t reach YouTube for whatever reason

Weather has been pants for weeks if not months with more wind and rain on the way so predicted it would likely be a slopfest although the eternal bog of doom had been paved but the last few rides, conditions have been horrible so thought things can’t get any worse and have to say I can’t believe how well it rode in the depths of winter on new year’s eve. There was a river running down the top section but with the right waterproof gear was actually quite enjoyable until the water found it’s way into my Sealskinz and turned my feet to ice but once they started to warm all was good

Usual extension to the loop on the return because Cut Gate on it’s own is a bit short for me
