On the evening of November 11th, in Bayern’s 4-2 victory over Heidenheim, Kane netted a brace, setting a record of 17 goals in his first 11 Bundesliga matches. According to the league’s official website, Kane averages a goal every 57 minutes, putting him on pace for an astonishing 53 goals if he maintains this performance throughout the season. If achieved, this feat would surpass Messi’s super record of 50 goals in La Liga during the 2011-2012 season.
Kane is also on the track to break the Bundesliga’s single-season goal record of 41, currently held by Robert Lewandowski from the 2020-2021 season. Previously, Gerd Muller set the record at 40 goals during the 1971-1972 season. However, in the last match of the 2020-2021 season against Augsburg, Lewandowski scored his 41st goal in the 90th minute.
In the 2021-2022 season, Lewandowski scored 35 goals in the Bundesliga, a number that even Erling Haaland couldn’t match. Over his two full seasons with Dortmund, the Norwegian striker managed only 27 and 22 goals in Germany’s top flight.
Beyond challenging Lewandowski’s record, Kane has secured three hat-tricks in his first 11 Bundesliga matches, emulating the feat achieved by Christian Muller in the 1964-1965 season. Kane is also the first player to score consecutive hat-tricks in the Bundesliga since Mario Gomez in 2011.
