Looking for quite a bit of traction as he goes out there this is definitely going to be a more even match than venerol seen in the last couple of races where he’s sort of just kind of picked his moment and gone off the front R he’s definitely going to find a bigger

Competitor in his longtime Ral W today P going for the early bike change there to get through some traffic as well as getting rid of some mud off the machine keep your eyes on tibon as well today Amanda watch racing at home and well doesn’t get more at home than your

Slight knot of the head to to vanard as he tries to go through you see just a little bit of a push there from verer as they get going with Bim runhard the former under 23 World Champ there chasing it up followed there by the Dutch champ vandar behind him TBO nce

This is Michael vanor out the European champ and Felipe or the Spanish Champion all coming through froma out the most advanc of the pal s Bingle Riders there is yis new andur the bearded Rider behind and Tom pitcock as always at the minute starting way back on the grid

Having to make his way through that traffic ronard is having a really good start to the race isn’t he and he almost there to the top two yeah a lot of time off the bike a lot of running in this track and I think that that’s going to

Suit a handful of riders run hard being one of them super super well runhard really of the under 23 in that next generation of riders along with this Rider tibon right the basa Tre team super motivated to do something here you see noen house back there they’re

Focused on him and pitcock right now also on a bit of a terraform right now so lot of good riders in this field this is not shaking out at all yet swake on your picture there the former Belgian Champion as now it’s F the pool trying

To ride away from F and there is so much hidden danger than he fat water isn’t there you can just see that ronard has choosing to run all the way through it yeah ronard there lost lost a bit there couldn’t quite get it back together I think he was just uh really

Heavy but he’s going to try to sew this one up here but this is going to be one of those matches that he’s going to burn early on to stay in this initially but I you know you don’t want to burn matches early on this one but RAR certainly

Knows his level he can do what he he needs to do here and then this is an awesome ride from tbon already well he’s going to be motivated I me if he turned up and there wasn’t any motivation today there’d be something wrong wouldn’t there this is

The race that’s named after his dad it’s in his own backyard in Bal the cross Center also carrying his father’s name but it’s a teammate in Brony who’s up there with for and fol at the moment I think pidcock’s going to connect as well um I’m just going to

Call that right now I think that uh I depends on what happens with vard and and and Vanderpool but I expect if they’re together Rob they’ll sit up more and and do more checking of like checks and balances you know on the sections where they can they’re going to go hard

And they’re going to push it through these sections and go super fast but I expect they’ll sit up a little bit more on the road which is going to help kind of the the style of pitcock to be able to come back but I do think that we’ll

Be able to see him potentially reconnect up here at least in this Chase group if not [Applause] better [Applause] Bad fard taking that line on the left hand side the women’s race we saw plenty taking the other line didn’t we interesting to see how the choices develop and how the course plays after quite a few more Wheels have rolled across it Greed with L fard there in the Dutch Champions Jersey f with that really strong performance uh very quickly mentioned at the start he was he down in about 30th position wasn’t he after that early melee but it was a sensational bit of bike riding to get up to fifth place

After that from where he was he saw a good ride from Pitcock too not quite as Sensational in getting as high but held up for a long long time in that race and here he comes making his way to connect as you forecasted a big effort to try

And get onto the back now of L yeah there’s more than enough time and enough ground to make up for Pitcock with it with the starts you know I think he would even say like he’s just you know it’s just not been his his strength he’s just not as aggressive and he’s

Also not starting on the front row so it’s just kind of a combo of things that are getting in his way here but he certainly is making up a lot of time and he’s riding similar lap Pace right at the front here if he’s making up the

Amount of time that he’s making up so yeah there’s there’s there’s a lot to say about Pitcock I give my my hack goes off to him about that ride the other day in Hol you know dead last come back to 25th that’s not that’s not nothing on a

Course like that and there is jedik stear coming up here the former World Champ uh coming through who’s looking to end his career coming up at the world champions in tore and he’s put together a brand new team for the month leading up to those Czech World Championships the stear team

Also had a glimpse in there of Ls ASI racing on the road a very very good Classics rider in the spring for k f young British Rider who today is back riding cross as well t b this showing his strength there and ability to Bunny Hop when others won’t even bother trying

We didn’t get to see the front guys try but I don’t know if V and vanard run hard tried but that is certainly something we saw in the in the clips before rob during the warm-up we saw tbon try but not execute the jump so the

Fact that he’s done that like I said there’s no Rider that knows this track better than Debo that’s for sure but now we see this is the part where we’re going to be able to see pitcock really start to wind that engine up and start

To take back a bunch of time here on these Road sections a 952 for fard fond and ronard a gap of 10 seconds to TI 16 to the European Champion fur who’s with fond seventh place at the moment going to Tom pitcock in a 23 Second deficit

But that’s a very good result with all the traffic he’s had to come through there’s Filipe orts riding for his brand new team today his own team that he’s put together and Cameron Mason just outside of the top 10 he’s an important figure to look for here today he’s third

In the overall standings after three of the eight races that make up the xville bad Trophy this is the race that everyone wanted to see the two Rivals man the the the Belgian fans and the Dutch fans are going to be out in full force for this

Come into this season he’s trying to bring more Focus to his Plastics campaign he’s going to stop his cycle cross season early you know there’s been a lot of talk about you know is his level but the one thing that we can say is that Hol the last half of the race

His lap times were comparable to met of vent pools and so if you start to go back and say well if you didn’t have problems that the speculation was there and then this is the confirmation for me Rob you’re bra mentioning the fans after the other day I think we’ll leave that

And all of these things that’s this is uh this is certainly more I would say where vener is licking his chops and saying something’s possible vpol is like yes of course I could get through this he he can he can win on any condition any track but but he knows that he’s got

A battle on his hands today and this is the best we’ve seen vanart all through this Christmas period where’s Fonda Paul’s season form so far sit for you is it the best we’ve ever seen seen him is it approaching that I mean it can’t be far off can it

Because he’s got a seventh consecutive win that was racked up the other day he’s scheduled in his program to race 14 times this season so halfway he’s unbeaten the final race is going to be the World Championships that that’s his big game we know that to set yet another

Record um undefeated this winter where is he in in the the match of V the pool of various Seasons yeah I got to see him at herentals and also in the mer uh I was at that race as well but I do think that he’s at the best that he’s been at so

Far this in his career yeah for sure last season we saw one of the best ever wat Pat versions this year with f Paul very much back at it on the Cross Field perhaps for one of the final full seasons of his career we will see he’s

Already suggested that if he does go on and rip up the World Championships again there wouldn’t really be anything left for him to achieve on the cross field of course we’ll have to wait and see yeah he certainly has been saying this in some other broadcasts but at 28

You know you really reach your Peak as like a as as a as a little problems there for vaner this won’t be too too bad but this is one of the sections where we see Vander Poole continuing to extend over vanard vard has been coming through this section and losing a

Handful of bike lines to Vander Poole through this section particular last lap and this lap so let’s see here he just gets hung up it’s just a little too heavy and you can see the difference in Cadence vaner loves to run that big heavy low Cadence cuz his back can

Support it but he’s going to come back to him here on this road section you can see again this is the first time I’ve seen really Vanderpool at at his limit or not his limit but but being pushed like this he’s going to ditch the glasses here but I was just going to

Finish that statement Rob that I think Vanderpool is at that peak of his career I think he’s uh at the peak of his legacy he’s definitely like the guy to beat in every race that he shows up to on the road in cycle cross he’s a very

Feared man on the mountain bike circuit about what could be possible coming up um he certainly once in a generation Rider and his legacy is is going to be one of the best uh in the business so yeah we’re seeing a rider with the most Talent um at his absolute Peak and I

Think he came off that alason road camp and they knew we’re going to start your season early in pin tuls in the middle of December even though he wasn’t slated until a week later and he’s continued to show that he was he was ready to go and

Um yeah when you get a rider like that then you know it’s just uh you’ve seen what’s happened D Boss a little further back there as fol has a little Gap here on fard hard little further back as for they’re on the pedals powering up the hill picks that straight line following

Father Paul here who’s rocking those rainbow Stripes yet again and he’s really motoring on look at that power you can see then there the difference in the style there as he comes over the top there now Vanderpool is looking to open up a little bit he’s

Got he’s got a bit of daylight between him now and this is the section where you know he was able to ride that I he won’t be able to ride this section though this section is going to be off and on foot and this is where vanard is

Going to be able to take back a little bit of time I think keep your eye on this battle this two and there he is off the bike however he rode for a little longer than fat there as we know the running is very much a strength in the wat fat

Column the ball is on his bike riding away showing off that tremendous technique and he’s almost out of sight there already amazing how quickly these margins can turn into bigger [Applause] ones really focused you can see him with his head up he’s on a really good day

And uh yeah though he’s he’s just doing everything that he can just pick his lines but this is a this is a proper duel here runhard doing everything that he can to just stick on the rear wheel of venard amazing the control the Riders will be off and going swimming

Here two of the top talents in the world all lied to all the strength they had and Pim ronar really mixing with them all towards the end of that too now haru’s had a consistent season under 23 world champion just 22 now he’s still got the back wheel of wat

Fard in his sights Here Comes mat ful then and for the first time there’s going to be a gap end of lap two coming up to 20 minutes of racing we’re going to be talking what 10 seconds or something let’s get it time and the clock starts a 1918 for two

Laps for match for the Here Comes wal fard we going to be looking at their nine 10 seconds yes 10 seconds Bob on with ronard for the two seconds back Tom pitock wants to get in the fight for the podium but still away off that group in

Front pockock though has ridden a good race so far from ton out has been Mr steady Mr consistent as he often seems to be and he’s here just over half a minute back with the for world champion cock’s going to have his work cut out for him to come back to those

Front two then and run hard with the with a gap like that but there’s one Rider that could do it I as the race develops we’re only at the 20 minute Mark I do think there’s a chance this is a great ride for TBO nce especially

Given his age you know he’s got a lot of expectations on him Rob for for what what’s capable what he’s possible of and he just has to be patient with his age and with what he’s coming he’s already yeah won a World Cup at you know such a

Young age which matches up with some of the youngest riders that have ever done it um so it’s we we will see uh but this is a good this is a good ride and and a good performance so far from tibon I hope he continues on this rider having a

Bit of an off day surprisingly I don’t think he’s uh going to be happy with this n Yos who’s been in good form who he’s certainly in fantastic form at the real pointy end of the race wasn’t he the other day we just saw really in form

Or not he turns up and he gives his all when this man turns up though he wins seven appearances before today seven consecutive victories that was 2023 slate white cleaned overnight 2024 with one lap to go looks like being win number eight out of eight this winter w

Fat still there in second place it’s looking good as far as sealing that for him but he needs a m a miracle if anything is to change on the last lap this now should be Jeremy barring any incident or accident A procession lap for match f a pool to be crowned for

What is it the fifth time winner of this race yeah yeah and you can see it looks like it is sprinkling a little bit out there potentially um so yeah it’s just continuing to get nasty but this is a this is a proper cross this is just

Nasty you know super low Cadence 50 60 Cadence because even if the you’re at the top of your range you know you don’t want to be in your easiest gear but you just in order to have forward momentum 400 watts is the minimum that these kinds of riders are having to push to

Just get through this so it’s like it takes so much energy to be able to get through a track like this then you get off your bike then you throw it up on your shoulder 20 20 21 22 lbs of weight up on your shoulder on your right hand

Side or your left hand side depending on where you’re at it’s is a very very very hard day out the bell rings for wat fard second place for now again he loses time on this lap it’s another 10 plus seconds 120 now the gap between the world champion and one of

The world Superstars here’s Pim ronard he’s going for that best of the rest prize today and he’s gone about his business very very well the 22-year-old again we shouldn’t be shocked or surprised you talked about his titles as a junior and under 23 Jeremy but already a winner in

The elites two times in the World Cup this year he’s showing that he’s the real deal again yeah run hard one that’s really developed up and um you know like I said the first of this next Generation after e bit and swek and that that uh cohort

Of of riders that came in and wiped out uh my generation now we’re starting to see this next one come in and start to punch you know really at their at their uh at their weight and run hard is the first one to really fly the gr for

Just such a Phenom I I I don’t know I you know this is I don’t think he’ll be happy with this is what I would start with and then second of all sometimes you get that part in the course where you’re just like man I’m not willing to

Take that risk and he had a pretty flyer crash last year on those whoop sections um I think if he was in it it it the adrenaline takes over you know what I mean if he had made the connection with that chase group fully with rard um

Earlier on I think he might have said okay I’m I’m here and I’m I’m willing to take the risk and I’m willing to learn some of the lines and the pace that these other Riders are setting but sometimes you know you you remember something like this part here he flew

Off the course it could have been really bad for him but luckily you know really it wasn’t it wasn’t too bad for pitcock after last year’s crash here but you know it it might just be a live to fight another day kind of thing pitcocks got a

Lot of uh as as Rob V just WS like a two-stroke dirt bike through that section um yeah I think pitcocks got bigger fish to fry the in the in the grand scheme and this is a this is a really treacherous track today where you

Can you can get injured if you take too much risk if you’re not on a good day different objectives this season of course would you know that it’s going to be a general classification tilt planned this time at the Tour of France for Tom pitcock and then he has the Olympic Games as

Well they were just talking about how this race has developed today and you’ve been talking about the lap times I’ve just got them in front of me fastest lap time for Fonda Paul today was lap number three a 917 wat fart’s fastest lap time was 19 seconds slower and that just shows the

Difference between the two today F paol has been nothing short of majestic and where the race really came apart on lap three Jeremy there was 39 seconds of a difference in one lap but into fard by fond you see him there in the same shot on different parts of the course and it

Just shows that yes the best ever F A P against a fad with a different objective this cross season even the very best this year are separated by quite a bit yeah I think this is the part where we saw him open it up and you can see he’s

Just able to push out the Watts you know what I mean it’s this this section in particular where he really took over vanera and started to open up two three four five bike lengths and then it just started to go right on the road section just kept opening it up and opening it

Up we also saw him the climb back up to the top to the cafe he also started to extend and then he eroded further than V so he kind of he he stitched a couple sections together where he knew he could put the Watts out early and then lap

After lap he’s continued to turn that out so yeah like we said he’s just he’s on mentally you know physically emotionally I’ve said he vanderp seems like he’s in the best place he’s ever been and um he’s just continuing on to to really show his his uh his pedigree and his and

His talent he’s uh he’s once in a generation Rider but yeah for sure he’s putting out huge Watts here I think I think people that are like man even look even his dad he he’s he’s even he’s even happy with this performance I think I think everybody can be really happy if you

Come into the biggest period of the Cross season and you have the the record that vpol has had and the dominance that he’s had you can’t say anything but hey that went really well D on the pool I think was ready with a new bike there and was thinking

With the the big lead that he would definitely come in for another change but mat not bothering he’s riding onto the Finish he’s putting even more time into his Rivals he is winning the only way he knows how dominating he’s always one of those riders that

Even when he’s not going as well as we know he can he looks powerful on the bike but today it just seems so spectacular the way he’s pumping through the mud there oh yeah he’s burning a super low Cadence which you know historically his back has just been you

Know it’s it’s been a challenge but he’s over the last you know 18 months or so we really haven’t heard about vp’s back from that crash at the Olympics where he you know kind of just missed that ramp that was there and then you know famously kind of flew over the top of

His bike the back was really bothering him um he has to get off a little bit earlier on this section after acing that last section so you can see him putting his hand down on his leg so that’s he is showing signs of fatigue he’s not he’s

Not a robot you know but he’s uh yeah he’s he’s absolutely flying right now there’s nothing else to say really I wish I could come up with a different word or a different way to describe the way that vp’s riding but I think every once in a while Rob in in a Rider’s

Career you get this moment where you’re like hey I’m just I’m just good right now like you know there’s no there’s rhyme and there’s reason but sometimes things just come together you know and so I think in the case of interpool we’re seeing a lot of things come

Together for him in a way you know like in his you know even in your personal life and I’m not saying that for fpol I’m saying that for myself and um you know things just come together like you’re in a big momentum loop with lots of positivity around and the results are

You know compounding that and yeah you’re on top of your aame and that’s what we’re seeing from a rider with the with the pedigree that he has well not your phot the coming towards the end of another successful cross bike day he’s one of the greatest ever

Already and there’s plenty still more to come of course the man after which this race is named won this 12 times he’s not going to quite get there today Sven n winning on those 12 occasions and in n’s first ever win at this race matcha F Paul’s father was on the

Podium here in 2024 on the very first day of a new year it’s another Victory added to the one of the most impressive palmeres you have ever seen in this sport New Year no need for a new start it’s the same old match for the pool and

It’s eight from eight now in this winter season another demonstration and we really really are running out of superlatives where this man is concerned a sensational win well played match of V the World Champ wins again for Alpa King against a very good wernard but a wernard who today was

Nowhere near the G level of his great rival that third lap did the damage 39 seconds put into him there and that’ss continue to fight he’s brushed off the competition for the second place as well Pim Bron has been dispatched but match for Theo with the

Victory and wat fard on his way to the second place his own torture in the mud for the day is about to come to the end and day number one in the slightly changed visma Lisa bik colors are going to end well pretty moddy without that a win but I think

Overall we’re decent feeling as to how he’s going with those readjusted more realistic aims away from the Cross Field and onto the road yeah there’ll be a handful more matchups here he’ll go down and do a training camp down in Spain and benador uh in that area and then he’ll race that

World Cup that’ll be that last race we saw great duel great Sprint finish last year between those two that was a real treat to be able to call that one but yeah but can be happy with this this is still a very respectable result right now second spot you know he’s really

Done a good ride today 2024 is on the way for wat fard at it’s a Podium place to begin with on New Year’s Day the newly named visma Lisa bike Team F Paul beats forat and look at that margin of victory
