Transgender women will be banned from competing in British Cycling’s competitive women’s events in changes that will see the men’s category become an open one.
The new policy change ends the hopes of transgender cyclist Emily Bridges of competing in women’s competitions.
It is 14 months since the 22-year-old was barred from competing in her first women’s event in Derby – facing five-time Olympic champion Dame Laura Kenny – after cycling’s world governing body ruled she was not eligible to race because she was still registered as a male cyclist.

It's been the actual rule for many years. Women's races are for women only and the Open races are where men and confused genders compete. Or women who don't want to be in female only. Their feelings don't matter as the ignore the majority of others' feelings.
Fantastic news. We have NOT been ‘assigned’ our sex/gender at birth. We are born either male or female.
They don't want an open category. They want a category where they are guaranteed to win. Simple as that.
I think Global Sports Bodies can experiment with trying out a new Three Categories Scheme that has:
(i) Open Category – for Biological Males ie. Normal Men + anyone else regardless of their sex or gender (how or what they identify as) can participate as long as they can meet the minimum qualifying mark set for the event (set according to the standards of Biological Men).
(ii) Protected Category A ≈ strictly for Biological Females regardless of how or what they identify as long as they haven't undergone any Male hormonal treatment such as increasing testosterone levels etc or surgery. And
(iii) Protected Category B ≈ Biological Males who identify as Women + All those Bilogical Females who wish to (also) compete against these Transvestites.

I was a junior racer. Even with my cobbled together, bargain basement equipment, I would have instantly been among the top female world competitors by just changing my nickname and mimicking a higher voice.

Just to understand, biological men won't be allowed to compete against biological women in cycling competitions, why is this even an issue? I was born in the early 50's and the fact that I just wrote that sentence makes me believe the world has gone absolutely insane. What happened? If my father was alive he would say this all happened because of lawyers and their power to sue anyone for anything, He became a lawyer in the early 50's, when he passed the bar he told my mom he couldn't practice law and live with himself, now I understand why.
