The Tour de France is an opportunity for a lot of big manufacturers to showcase some new products or at least some that look new and the 2016 edition is no different at all we’ve been spending three days before the start that our race searching around for some new products and bikes and it
Turns out there are lots of custom looking bikes the first one that we looked at was of Alberto Contador’s which is the first time I’ve seen carbon made to look like aluminium or at least like metal it really is rather stunning new bike alert this is the Bianchi ultra
XR for this one in particular is actually Dillon grown of Aegon’s bike and although the whole of the team lot onl yumbo are currently riding this new Bianchi Bianchi haven’t officially launched it yet nor is there any official information about it so what can we glean from looking at it well
First things first it’s now got Bianchi’s countervail technologies this is their vibration absorbing material that they laminate in amongst the carbon fiber they debuted it with their endurance model it then came on to the specially summer when they re release that and then now their aerodynamic bike
Has also got it so that is an interesting point number one and then in terms of the aerodynamic look of the bike a number of things have changed over the previous model the xr2 no idea XR 3 went by the way so the C stays have dropped so they are now significantly
Lower than previously but then instead of using can tell technology which many Aero bikes need to have this Bianchi everything tapers to a point and then it’s not a technical term pointy but that is definitely what it is so the seat post the seat tube there and the
Down tube none of them at cam tails moving forward that’s a vision Metron bar and stem combo but then it’s been quite nicely integrated into the frame there the head shape itself is still relatively broad there’s obviously oversized bearings going on there and then the fork as well the fork is
Changed significantly now bows out and then there’s plenty of room between the fork blades and the spokes but then I also noticed because I look for these things because I’m slightly upset the clearance is significantly larger than previous as well so you could probably get 28 maybe even 30
Out back and then definitely room 428 up front so maybe this could be big do it all bike 14 not onl young boat for the classics as well be an interesting one one thing that a lot of teams have put a lot of consideration into are the two
Time trials of this year’s Tour de France both of which are fairly clearly one particularly hilly neither a flat so we’ve seen a few people experimenting with just putting some clip on at bars onto their standard Road but this is bout monomers Trek in Monda they still
Undersized – we will definitely use this one or his standard a reduced weight time trial bike we also just spotted Tony Martin going out on a special ice will clip on bars as well so we come to team Cannondale and this next bit of news is not really tech related but they
Just announced a merger with the drap act cycling score so that’s some news there for you they have changed the bikes that they’re using there you’ve got the 2017 livery always already on them but this one is quite special it’s here Roland’s bike the French rider that
Signed with them over the offseason it’s a slightly different shade of green a shade being called Jade which is the name of his daughter and you can see that rather nice mark there and pierre means stone so they’ve got some rather nice-looking pebble graphics as well oh
And up here you can see stage win 2012 lattice here which is his Tour de France stage win now we’ve gone to coffer this how little knows you around as we like to do and pretty sure we’ve just found a new bike you can’t miss it
Look at that amazing paint job but this is definitely a variation on the Orcas that we’re riding I’m assuming it is an orca but we don’t obviously know or bear haven’t actually send the thing yeah but looks flippin cool not out and our arrow but I’m pretty sure I recognize those
Front forks from all Bayers time trial bike they all do so it kind of makes sense when you think about I guess the front end obviously is the most important part aerodynamically so if you stick a narrow fork on there then the rest of the bike probably is quite less
Important so you might still get those Aero advanced years really nice-looking c-clamp look at that Integra one on the top tube there so that’s a super smooth transition then another thing that was particularly cool about this bike is a fact than the clearance on the rear chain stays and see stakes is massive
I reckon you could probably get 30 see tire in there a little bit less at the front you can definitely get 28 in there so that makes it quite a versatile looking bike I’m excited to find out more everyone have to wait too long Marcel could tell Ryan phonetics
Quickstep has been using the Venge vs very successfully this year as having two different about this bike except this exceptionally special new design in terms of the paint job I like that you really want me talking about it what you really want is some lovely music at a
Montage of shots and it’s not just Marcel cattell who’s got himself a special paint job Spartacus aka Fabian Cancellara has as well and all over it are his results and he’s had so many results they’ve had to use a very very small font and he’s already mucked
Things up for us if you ever look at the back here it says Swiss Road Hamptons to have a champ times to Lance and Remo chap times one Swiss Time Trial champ times nine except he just won it again so they’ve got to change that to ten
Last but my no means least is this custom rainbow jersey design specialized s works been BS of a certain war champion called peters again now this is not as new as some of the others he has been using it for quite a lot of this season but strangely he won’t be using
It quite so much here at the Tour de France and that is because although stunning this paint job does add quite a lot of weight over a hundred grams so for the rolling stages which is still quite fast he’s probably going to be using a more standard benz Vyasa type
That you can buy at home because sees apparently over a hundred grams and have saved this one for the ones that are almost completely pan flat perhaps say that it is a stunning looking bike as are all of them i really enjoyed looking at the bikes here at the Tour de France
And I hope you have too and if you look would like to see some more of them you can find a whole playlist in the top corner just up there on the other hand if you’d like your tech is also a playlist for that which you’ll find in
The bottom corner and if you’d like to subscribe to the channel haven’t done so already it is free and all you got to do is click on the globe and if you like this video give it a thumbs up on the icon down below finished

Just think how much Sagan would've won by yesterday if he didn't have to heft that extra 100g around.
God that Vision 5D handlebar looks sharp!
Any electric bike disguised?
the bianchi oltre XR4, so intense it skips over the XR3…
Why is Kittel not using the aero integrated stem?
I before felt ashamed and oppressed I sometimes used a vise to hold my bike parts, but now my soul is set free as I see one in Tinkoff's bus
Those Red/White Trek Emondas are sweet!
Love the Bianchi!!
It was my understanding that UCI rules stated that all of the equipment used by the pro teams had to be commercially available to the public?
How is this the case, if the Bianchi/Orbea hasn't been released yet?
super
I did note that Kittel's Venge didn't have the one piece bar/stem that I thought was standard on the ViAS.
Love Marcel Kittels paint scheme Venge Vias and Peter Sagans WC
Awesome show guys!
0:11 Lean back, lean back 😀
what saddle is that on Macel Kittels bike ?
Orbea – EVH
He Simon, the Bianchi XR3 is on the market, it's the cheaper carbon version of the XR2. In case you didn't know yet. 😉
technology talks and by where this innovation will go? who knows?I'm looking forward for Long Term research on the role of technology at Bikes and Cycling , ,
I thought teams added weight to bring their bikes up to UCI regs. so if you have a 100g paint job you'd just add a bit less weight
Oh god yeah, that was a good hit of some quality bike porn! Even had the saucy bike porn music in the background! The beautiful Italian one at the beginning was my fav!
Bianchi… looks like a cheap Trek Madone.
All great bikes. Great custom paint jobs too. All of them.
bonitas bicicletas"
The thing is so light, the wind almost blew it away from the stand.
that's very AMAZING O__O
is there any cyclist who used shimano 105 on tour de france?
I need that XR4 in my life, need to work harder
wow…
