Bella Hadid, Dove Cameron, Anna Taylor Joy, Kylie Jenner – are all reportedly fans of plastic surgery. And I can see why. When you have a lot of money and resources, enlisting the help of the most skilled plastic surgeons is a piece of cake. And since we’re all feeling the pressure to conform to the current beauty standards, plastic surgery can seem very appealing. Got a big nose? get a nose job. Got hooded eyelids? Get eyelid surgery. Got small lips? Filler will help that. Need higher brows? Go on and get a brow lift. For every insecurity there is a procedure. But that begs the question: when does plastic surgery start becoming self mutilation?

Plastic surgery on the right people for the right reasons can be an incredibly empowering thing bringing hope and self-esteem and self-confidence to the people who desperately need it but let’s be real here guys I think we all know at this point that plastic surgery is being conducted on people who don’t need it

Who aren’t getting it for the right reasons and it’s becoming a problem and I’m going to be honest with you guys it’s not something that I feel overly positive about when does plastic surgery stop being a positive thing and start becoming self mutilation the harsh reality is is that plastic surgery can

Often arise from body dysmorphia you look in the mirror and instead of feeling happy with what you see reflected at you you’re nitpicking all your floors your nose is too big too crooked too wide get a nose job your face is too fat too round get your fat

Removed your brows are too low but a brow lift could fix that your lips are verging on original Kylie Jenner territory get lip filler people as young as 13 are being so bombarded with Pro plastic surgery content on sites like Tik Tok that they think altering their

Looks with surgery is normal I’m here with Dr K and what are we doing today let’s do it all let’s do little baby butto show us those lines liquid Rhino we’re going to contour and straighten lift the tip and maybe a little cheek contour and jawline how about and the

Lips oh very much lips all right stay tuned for your results this mom was boasting about injecting her 9-year-old daughter with botox to prevent wrinkles the San Francisco mom who is injecting her 8-year-old daughter with botox to get rid of wrinkles and she insists that she

Is not the only mom who’s doing it Lar Spencer spoke with the mom Carrie and her daughter Britney in a GMA exclusive I do it but um it hurts sometimes but I get used to it does it look better after you get BOTOX yeah it looks way better how like beautiful

Pretty like all those kind of nice words quick thank you to this video sponsor Kenzie Kenzie is an ome hair removal device that uses the power of IPL AKA intense pulse light to quickly and paint painlessly remove unwanted body hair personally I’m not overly bothered about

Body hair but I don’t like hair on my bikini line I live in Australia I’m always at the beach I’m always in a bikini and I just don’t like shaving that area I hate itchy ingrown hairs and I hate stubble and I hate shaving rash

So for me that’s why I use my IPL machine it’s painless it’s quick it’s easy you just simply plug it in you press a little button it shoots a beam of light at your unwanted hair effectively destroying the follicle which means that over time the hair is

Going to grow back sparer and softer and then generally after about 12 weeks of us use the hair just won’t grow back at all from my experience I first saw that my hair was becoming thinner and growing back slower at around 3 weeks of use and

Then at around 12 weeks there was barely any hair growth at all another bonus was also that because I didn’t have any itchy regrowth or stubble from shaving my skin also felt so much softer now the reason the IPL is so popular is because unlike shaving and waxing and epilation

It is painfree it’s also about as close to permanent as you can get with hair removal and that is why you’ll see IPL salons everywhere but it is expensive to get get it done professionally at a salon it’s timec consuming to drive there and park and go in and depending

On what area you want your body hair to be removed from sometimes you don’t want to have a stranger all up in your grill which is why if you do choose to remove your body hair investing in your own IP machine for at home use that you can do

Whenever you want from the privacy of your own home makes so much sense now with the Kenzie handset you can choose what intensity pulse light you want to use depending on your skin tone and your hair color how much hair growth you have me being me I just went in on the higher

Setting and got the job done it doesn’t hurt just for feels like warmth on the skin it’s so quick and easy there’s no mess involved you simply plug your handset in and Away you go and then over time with continued use you’ll see that your hair starts to diminish and then

You rarely have to use it at all so if you guys like me do choose to remove sections of your body hair and you want to give IPL a try Kenzie have kindly offered you guys 20% off your own Kenzie handset with the discount code sl23 I

Will pop the link to Kenzie’s website in the description box down below so you can go check it out even Bella hadit had her nose drob which she initially denied but now admits to at the age of 14 you’re still technically considered a child at the age of 14 and sadly Bella

Story isn’t even unusual kids these days are heading to the plastic surgeon’s office with a filtered picture of themselves saying make me look like this in real life almost all plastic surgeons will tell you that they are seeing patients coming younger I’ll use face tune to fix

My nose and erase the bump or make my lips a little bit more plump I might as well get the real surgery to become the the image that I really want to portray body dysmorphia despite being called body dysmorphia it does apply to your face too and when you’re suffering from

Body dysmorphia getting plastic surgery can become almost like an addiction how many different procedures did you have I had 10 in one day I had an eyebrow lift I had my nose fixed I had my lips done I had cheekbones I had my ears pinned I

Had my chin done I had my breast done that I noticed I had um uh my waist cinched in on both sides I had my back scooped um I had but injections and my legs is that 10 you get one floor fixed you feel a little bit better for a

Period of time and then you start focusing on another perceived floor so you head back to the cosmetic surgeon you get that fixed but then you notice another floor and so the cycle continues you’re never happy with the way you look you keep on getting plastic surgery and

All of a sudden you go from looking like this to this these people technically did not require plastic surgery what they needed was therapy they didn’t need plastic surgery they needed to regain their self-love and their self-confidence and that does not come from your cosmetic surgeon now obviously

You guys will know that I am not plastic surgery’s biggest fan but I can acknowledge that in some cases the people do end up looking really great this is seen regularly in examples like K-pop where young hopefuls are undergoing plastic surgery as children Yes you heard me as children these kids

Are having plastic surgery such as jaw shaving where their Jawbone is ground down to create a more aesthetically pleasing vshape to nose jobs to thin out their noses and create the popular ski slope Barbie esque tip and another one that’s very popular is the double eyelid surgery where their eyelids are operated

On to create a more eurocentric eye shape these kids hope that by doing this they will then fit the beauty standard and stand a better chance at becoming a K-pop Idol and in a lot of cases that is exactly what happens they get the surgery they now conform to the current

Beauty standards and they go on to achieve great success and fame and I’m not just having a go at like K-pop here the same thing happens in our Western Society like look at the Kardashians for example look at the Kardashian Genesis is before their numerous cosmetic surgeries if you didn’t know who they

Were you would be forgiven for thinking that these are totally different people in their before and after pictures they have been able to afford the best skilled highest paid surgeons to perform their plastic surgeries and by all accounts their results are pretty pleasing to the eye and just like the

K-pop Idols the Kardashians and Jenners have gone on to achieve great success and fame and that is very appealing to a lot of young people these days in this day and age the sad reality is is that we are equating our selfworth with what

We look like how many likes we get on a picture and so if we feel like we’re not pretty enough or our bodies are never going to look like the girls we see on Instagram our selfworth begins to dwindle and plastic surgery starts looking very bloody appealing and let’s

Be honest guys a lot of these plastic surgeons do prey on the insecurities of young people just like in every industry there are good and they are bad there are a lot of plastic surgeons who are now coming out and saying they refuse to work on teenagers even with parental

Consent there are famous Botox injectors and filler injectors and plastic surgeons who are so against what’s happening with the beauty standards that they are flatly refusing to perform plastic surgery on people who they don’t think need it because the thing is guys plastic surgery is not always the answer

Getting plastic surgery does not mean that you are necessarily going to feel more confident or more beautiful after having it done I feel like the cast of the UK reality TV show Jordi Shaw is a prime example of this every single one of these girls who appeared on the show

Was naturally stunning and naturally they all looked very different to each other which is to be expected if you look around outside right now not everyone’s going to look the same or at least I hope they don’t but what is happen to these cast members over the years is that they’ve all started

Getting plastic surgery and fillers and Botox and they’re all starting to morph into looking very very similar whereas originally they didn’t look anything alike and this is becoming so common and it’s actually really creeping me out how almost erasing our natural original features in order to conform to these

Beauty standards which say that we have to have big eyes double lid highbrows cat eyes small nose ski slope high cheekbones v-shaped chin and if you don’t have all those features naturally which most of us don’t because we all have different genetics and different ethnicities then we’re told we’re ugly

Now self worth dwindles and we start getting fillers and Botox and plastic surgery to look like this so that we feel good about ourselves but unfortunately that rarely happens what does happen instead is that you start trying to reach this level of perfection which can’t actually be achieved in real

Life without the help of a cosmetic surgeon and so you start getting more and more and more done done and then you’re getting your boobs done and then you’re getting your butt done and then you’re having lipo and then you’re having corrective nose jobs and then God forbid the beauty standard changes and

So you’re having to alter your looks all over again like where does it end I feel like there’s this misconception that just because plastic surgery is usually performed on your face or your boobs or something like that that it means it’s less risky than having surgery performed

On like your organs but the thing is all surgery has risks and side effects I just feel like in this day age the fact that plastic surgery is becoming so normalized and so glamorized that literal children are getting it done I feel like we’ve got a problem

    1. We were made imperfect. We were born imperfect. No human being on earth was or is perfect. Even Jesus wasn't perfect. Humans are meant to be imperfect for a reason, so that we can have a society, build structure. If everyone looked the same and were perfect, life would be so boring with everyone looking the same, acting the same and doing the same things. Really think about a "perfect" world, because what's perfect to you, isn't what is perfect to someone else. Perfection doesn't exist, no matter how bad us humans want it to exist. We will get surgery and call it perfect just because we think it is. Perfection is such an interesting and very misunderstood subject all across the world.

Being different is okay and healthy. When I was little, I hated my nose and vowed that I would get a nose job when I become an adult. Well, I realized when I got older that I actually like my nose, because I got my nose from my mother, and because I lost my mom last year, I really love my nose now. I always want to look like my mom because she was such a beautiful woman. I wouldn't want to change my face unless I got horribly disfigured from an accident or something. Or if it was a health issue. That's the only time I would ever get plastic surgery on my body or face.

Loving yourself is the key, and realizing that not everyone in the world is going to find you physically attractive and that's okay. All beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. It doesnt matter how many people say you aren't attractive, because there are 10x as more people who think you are beautiful.

We all age, and aging is beautiful, but a lot of society, especially hollywood, acts like aging doesn't exist and only a few people experience it. It's such a wild mindset.

    2. I was seriously considering getting multiple plastic surgeries because ✨body dismorphia✨, but after watching your videos I‘ve ruled it out. I’m not a 10/10, but seeing all these celebrities without filters I’m starting to think they aren’t either. Nobody’s perfect.

    3. I am NOT against plastic surgery, for one because as you mentioned, it can save people who have had life altering complications from burns, accidents etc. But I also support people getting it because they want to. HOWEVER…I think people should wait until they are around 25 to decide, because that’s when your brain is more developed and you can have the experience to really think about it. I’m actually considering a breast augmentation, but I won’t make the final decision until I’m 30. I don’t want to mature and realize I was just trying to fix low self esteem. I’m fine with my boobs as is, and if it never happens I will remain fine!

    4. They all look the same now. There are no unique faces because people are not trying to be the best versions of themselves but rather the best version in other peoples “standards”

    5. Just today I was thinking about Olivia N John's daughter, and how it will never be known what of her mother's physical genetics she inherited. What a shame it is that Olivia's face isn't passed down to the next generation, and it's the same with all these other girls. Their family resemblance is erased

    6. FYI, the newspaper pic you have of K-pop stars is actually from a Vice documentary I believe of a Japanese mom/kid. I grew up on East Asia, and I'd say the whole double-eyelid thing started off with the Japanese (most likely simply bc they were more affluent at the time)

    7. Body surgery is self mutilation. I can understand why some people do it, but I don't support it. When it's for health reasons there is nothing to be against, but when people want to look different unnaturally, I'm not really a supporter of that.

    8. Holy crap! As someone who doesn’t have social media or give a rip about any celebrity-I will never understand the desire to want to look like another human. We are all beautiful and unique looking different from one another. The gaslighting these celebrities do is despicable too. And as a women in her 40’s, I don’t want to look, dress, or act like a 20 year old. It’s am proud of the age I am and I don’t get the fascination of ‘anti aging’. Good riddance to all this hype of the glorification of manufactured beauty.
