Gravel riding in Tyrol Austria is amazing. We hung out in Seefeld Austria to do some gravel riding in the Karwendel National Park. We did 4 days of riding with some killer dead ends roads and loops that proved to show that this is one of THE best place for riding gravel in Europe.

I was riding a 3T Exploro with SRAM Force 1 with Zipp 303 650b wheels and a Lauf True Grit fork.

Joining me on the ride (and route planner) was Philipp Doms (https://www.instagram.com/philipp.doms/).

I shot this entirely on an RX100 M5 and a GoPro Hero 8.

    1. A friend of mine and his girlfriend where in austria with there "normal" bikes and got asked "why are aren´t you riding an e-bikes?"… because every one else where on an e-bike

    2. 3:35 exactly my experience not only in the Alps. And what you said before, that things become accessible to everyone that shouldn't be, that shows usually when people try to ride their 25kg+ full suspension E-Enduro MTB down even those "easy gravel paths". Its hard enough for a beginner to ride long gravel descents on a usual bike, but on those things… Always concerns me when I'm riding and someone who clearly is not in control of their bike goes the other direction.

Enough ranting though. Loved the video, was a pleasure to watch.

    3. Like the video and alpine views, but what's up with you and the e bikes. Let people ride whatever they want and enjoy the nature. Sharing is caring.

    4. Hey, love my country, i´m living in Salzburg, we also had a lot of roads to bike, but the rules are a little bit stricter then in Tirol . E-Bikers in the mountains…?No problem, everyone, who´s sitting on an (E-)Bike, is not on the road and is not dangerous to me… 😉 sometimes in future i will also need an E-Bike…when i´m 65 or so

    5. Great video John. Reminds me of my holidays in Mittenwald which is just over the border in Germany. Do you have the route you took in this video?

    6. Now I'm super glad I moved to Austria for work reasons. I live only 2 1/2 hrs away from Seefeld! Will definitely check it out, thanks for the tip!

    7. nice vids. E-bike (developments in batteries) is the best thing that happened for humankind for a long time. It takes so many people out, using their legs being in the fresh air. bringing some money to remote locations. Just be protect the nature.
