Happy New Year coming up on this week’s GC racing news show our top eight hot takes for 2024 will any of them come true will you agree with any of them let’s find out this week in the world of racing we haven’t learned anything yet because it’s only just started and this is

Pre-recorded so let’s crack straight on with it here are our top eight hot takes for the 2024 Pro cycling season well I say our hot takes but since I don’t want to make it seem like the entire company doesn’t know what they’re talking about I should probably point out their might

I couldn’t think of 10 that’s why it’s different to the intro right number one visma Lisa bike won’t win a grand tour in 2024 having become the first male team ever to win all three grand Tours in a single season last year bisma Lisa

Bike have a lot to live up to this year pressure will be mounting other teams and rides are lining up to knock the off their perch yon Vore will no doubt start as favorite for this year’s Tour of France we have more competition than ever pagat will be back for Revenge Rog

Will be out to show who boss and aapol will be there to throw a span in the works at any moment at the Duro W vanart was rumored to be going for GC but he since refuted that of course they will still have GC Riders and big Ambitions

At the jur and the Welter and the tour but I just have a sneaky feeling things aren’t going to be quite so smooth for bisma this year that said hot take number number two is that W vanard will win a monument this might not sound like

A hot take I mean w vanard is one of the best riders in the world after all but his record at winning monuments is actually quite poor given how good a bike rider he is his consistency is second to none he hasn’t been outside the top eight at the last 11 monuments

He started and he’s never finished lower than 22nd however his one win Remains the 20120 Milano sunano now Belgian pundits and fans will tell you that’s not good enough and to be perfectly honest Hest I think they’re right the caliber of Rider that W vanart is he

Should have won at least three monuments in my opinion by now this is his year though he’s done L sross he’s focused his whole winter on the spring Classics and now is his time to shine number three L keki Will Win Li Baston Le this

Has got to be a hot take surely I mean she’s never even raced Le Baston Li before however I think she should given how well she was climbing last year especially at the tour to France fam I don’t think that a win in Le is at all

The reach far from it in fact particularly given the strength of her team SD Works which brings me nicely on to number four SD Works will fill all three Podium steps of the tour of Flanders I mean that’s not exactly going out on a limb given that they filled the

First two steps already last year with Capi voling Royer vbz and the returning Shantel ven Brook black they’re more than capable of complete domination this year at that race T siger fre might have something to say about it and a few others as well so we shall see next

Start up number five Josh charling will become Elite World Time child champion in Zurich this September he may have been over half a minute off the times of AOL and Gana at last year world championships but he did that at the age of 19 and in his first year out of the

Junior ranks by Zur this year he’ll be another year older wiser and stronger and in theory there should still be some big attainable leaps in performance at that age he’s already a beast on a bike next year he’s going to be a monster number six then Arnold Dee will win

Milanos and Rama I think I was already biging up aror Dee for that race last year and I’m sticking with it despite him finishing in 95th Place he’s just got so much raw power and I reckon he’s more than capable of getting his large frame over the Chessa and podjo climbs

Somewhere near the front and if it does come back for a small group Sprint he seems to be somebody that doesn’t lose any of his Sprint power and speed at the end of a long race now it would have been eight years since a group larger

Than 10 contested the win on the Via Roma at milans and Raymond but I certainly don’t put it past the Lee making a selection smaller than that on his day number seven is going to be my least popular on my list Mark cavish won’t take that 35th Tour of France

Stage win I should cave at that by saying I would absolutely love to see it I just don’t think it’s going to happen cavish is going to be 39 years old by the time the tour to France starts this year only one Rider older than that has

Ever won a stage at the tour to France and that was Peno surami at the age of 41 back in 1963 the oldest Sprinter ever to have won a stage at the Tour of France was alandre paking at 36 so as much as it would be a fairy tale ending to a

Glittering career the stats suggest it ain’t going to happen and finally number eight naruk kintana will Podium the Jalia now believe it or not of the 17 grand Tours that Nar canana has ridden only two have been the Jalia although they’ve treated him quite well he won on

Debut in 2014 and finished just half a minute behind Tom Dulan four years later that was the last time that he finished on a grand tour Podium incidentally which would be be seven years by the time this year’s race rolls around but it’s a race that suits him perfectly he

Loves the High Altitude climbs and he doesn’t mind bad weather either with enri mass likely to focus on the Tour of France and the Welter again it’ll makees sense send Naro canana to the Jiro if they do I find it hard see him finishing off the podium to be perfectly honest

Particularly given how hungry he’ll be after a year in the wilderness with pagat in attendance though winning it might be a tool order right time for me to throw it out to you at home what are your hot takes for 2024 which of mine you agree with

Which are complete Tosh let me know in the comment section down below make sure you get a calendar reminder setting your phone as well for the end of the season so you can see how many of them I got completely wrong probably all of them

Let’s face it but it was a bit of fun right I’ll be back with a proper raceing news update this time next week uh to wrap up all the news from the last few weeks so I hope to see you all then

  1. Cavendish will not win his stage, no way… all the hype in the world won't help him, too many hungry and faster guys, hopefully he won't take out a younger faster guy trying got pull off some silly moves like last year .. Arnaud de Lie will win Paris Roubaix … Wout will take E3 Harelbeke and the Ronde… MVdP will repeat Strada and podium San Remo… sorry Poggi and Primoz, no TDF for you, Jonas will win again…. The Giro… Sepp Kuss..? I cant see Ineos having much of a year again, Piddock might win something, maybe Amstel. Remco will win the Vuelta again, if he feels like and and doesn't crack the shits over something or another..
Primoz may not get his way this year, depends on his team, but Jumbo's depth and experience will be enough, although Bora made a good fist of it last year, Jonas can out climb him and has proven to be a more than adequate TT'er, plus his age.Β
Cian Uijtdebroeks will win Flèche Wallone, the guy is a monster, or he'll take a stage or two, he's racing the Tour, isn't he..?

  2. 1: Vingegaard does the double win Tour Vuelta. 2: WVA wins the points classification at the Giro but not any monument, Olympics or WC. 3: Pogacar defeats Vingegaard in GC only at the Tirreno Adriatico. 4: Ganna will have a major win that is not TT or track. 5: Evenepoel Olympic champion ITT. 6: VDP finally wins XCO Olympics. 7: Pidcock wins a spring classic. 8: Roglic will win only one 1-week tour.

  3. Tadej Pogačar will win the Giro!
    At least I hope so.
Gonna be a good year for cycling, for those of us still breathing, Happy New Year!
    Keep it fun folks!

  4. The last one is impossible. This year’s Giro route is the opposite to a Quintana route.

There is 68km of ITT and only one high mountain top finish!

  5. 1-No: Jumbo will win at least one Grand Tour.
2-Yes: Wout will win at least one monument. He kind of has to.
3-Yes: That sounds plausible, if she starts and doesn't get injured or ill.
4-No: That sounds a bit too much. Maybe two of three.
5-Yes: I can see that, if he is on 100% form and fitness.
6-No: It's of course possible, but there are too many other hungry riders going for this cake.
7-Yes: Cavendish is declining since a few years. Maybe on a very lucky day, but rather not.
8-No: Competition will be too strong. I can sse him being around fifth.
