Gravel bites and ebikes might be grabbing all of the headlines at the moment but if you’re riding nothing too gnarly you want a more upright position and you prefer getting from a Tob under your own steam there are hybrids out there that are perfect for the job in

This video we’re going to look at eight of the best hybrids for 2024 over a range of different price Points with its radical Double Diamond frame design the brand new specializ cus is one of the most eye-catching new bikes thanks to its compliance Junction a gap where you’d normally expect to see the seat tube meet the bottom bracket shell the sirus’s carbon frame flexes vertically massively increasing R

Comfort without increasing rear wood saddle tilt along with the suspension from the frame their specialized Future Shock 1.5 system under the stem which gives 20 mm of travel and big fat tires there’s clearance for up to 42 mil rubber the top of the range Ser 6.0

Which cost2 £400 here in the UK has a one Byam GX Eagle Luna group set and Sham level tlm hydraulic disc brakes alternatively there’s a cirrus X 5.0 that comes in at just under 2,000 with rram NX eagle and wider 38 mm Pathfinder tires for more mixed terrain of course

Specializ still sells the more traditional aluminum frame serus without the compliance Junction with lower specs to suit those smaller budgets Talking of smaller budgets the triban rc500 is one of the best value hybrids out there for £645 you get a flat bar version of the most comfortable road bike from decathlon’s house brand the rc500 has a 6061 T6 aluminium frame with drop seat stays and clearance for tires up to 36

Mm it comes with a Shimano Sora 9-speed group set including the chain set which is pretty impressive Rive at this price there are PR Max cable operated disc brakes which are simple but effective and 28 mm ties that could be set up tubless with trib band’s own brand

Wheels that have tubless ready rims the rc500 is more aimed at tarmac than gravel or mixed terrain but when we reviewed it we found it was comfortable on Broken Road surfaces too thanks to the compact geometry that allows a good length of the seat post to flex and

Tires that were more Supple than we expected this is the cathlon only hybrid but it could be the only one you Need the 2024 Trek FX sport 6 is the lightest and fastest bike in tx’s Fitness lineup of flat bar bikes and the American brand says it has every feature of a high-end road bike with the added benefit of flat handlebars for additional comfort and control it has a

400 series ocv carbon frame Bond trer aess Elite 35 carbon whe and a one by Shimano grx drivetrain with hydraulic disc brakes they say road but it’s more capable than many hybrids at tackling some gravel should you wish to venture off the Beaten Track it comes with 40 mm

Bond Trager gr1 team issue gravel tires an 1142 cassette that combined with the 42 chain ring you get up front will mean that steep slopes are made much easier the FX sport 6 retails at £ 2775 here in the UK but the range starts with the £500 FX1 the FX1 has an

Aluminium frame Rim brakes and a 21-speed Shimano T alus drivetrain or if you’re desperate for discs you could go for the FX2 at £650 the new quick is Canon Del’s allrounder Fitness bike that does what it says on the tin or rather aluminium in Canal’s words it’s a swift sporty bike that’s perfect for getting a workout City cruising or just getting out and feeling good and its natural habitat is the street as we know canelle

Was a pioneer of aluminium frames remember the iconic CAD frames with their oversized tubes well it’s great to see all of that historical expertise resurfacing in a range of affordable bikes it’s already a nicely designed bike but it’s great to see Canon del sweating the details the quick has full

Rack and mudu mounts 360° reflectives on the frame and comes with an integrated wheel sensor that connects to canadell app for activity tracking calories burned bike registering servicing reminders and more the flagship model is the quick one which retails at £1,250 here in the UK the entry level is

The quick 6 which gets the smart form C3 alloy frame but comes with a steel Fork V brakes and micros shift 3×7 gearing that bike retails at a highly competitive £525 some hybrids are just flat bar road bikes but cubes hide Pro is a very different animal it draws its

Inspiration from the German Brands 29er hardtails but is perfectly adapted for the city with it stripped back aluminum frame fully rigid fork and belt drive connected to an 8-speed Shimano Nexus Hub naturally it gets Shimano hydraulic disc brakes too Cube strapl line for it

Is Battle the City and it is as close to an ultimate Urban Warrior as you’ll find the geometry is designed for weaving through traffic braking and cornering and it has huge clearance for 58 mm ties and comes with shr’s Big Apple 55 mm or 2.1 in rubber the Hyde Pro retails at

£999 and it’s actually not the flagship bike in the range that’s the £ 1,199 Hyde race the Hyde race is more like a traditional hybrid with with a slightly less compact frame and clearance for 42 mm tires our choice would be the Hyde Pro if you want a

Road-going mountain bike you might as well go all in the vus Mac 3i has a wheel in both camps it’s not a flat Bar Road Bike restricted to tarmac but it’s not a repurpose fully rigid mountain bike either it build is combining classic hybrid versatility with modern looks and

Performance and is perfect cycle paths country lanes or wide Forest Trails but how does it do that well it’s more like a flat bar gravel bike than we’ve seen so far from vetus there might even be something of the French Randon Nur about it which would be a nice nod to the

Tradition given vitus’s French Origins its predecessor leaned more towards the road with even a hint of beach cruiser with its Kink top tube but this latest version is right in the middle of the dial with a nicely balanced geometry a 6061 T6 aluminium frame with drop seat

Stays that are almost expected and 38 mil Tel tires the Top Model Mac 3i vrx which retails at £999 is speced with a 1×11 SRAM Apex group set with a 42 chain ring and 1136 cassette the entry level in the range of three sells at £699 and has micro shift gears on the

Same frame the in Kentfield is Affordable comfortable and reliable it’s also one of the most simple and stylish hybrids out there with its straight aluminum tubes microshift 1×10 group set Clarks mechanical disc brakes and 40 mil tires Marin has years of experience at making mountain bikes so we have no doubt that

The Kentfield can take anything you throw at it in the urban environment that it’s designed for that steel Fork is Slender but tough It’s got rack and mudguard mounts so you can use it as a daily commuter but stripped down it’s light and fast enough for trips out of

Town the geometry is designed for a short stem and maximum maneuverability the top version the Kentfield 2 has a retail price of just £595 which we think is pretty incredible value the Kentfield 1 goes for £495 and has seven-speed Shimano T instead of the 10-speed micro Shift last but not least from the world’s biggest bicycle company a bike that can haul huge loads and comes with some of the terrain smoothing Tech that its road bikes use the giant tough road is another hybrid that does what it says on the tin this bike is seriously rugged

The fact that it comes with 50mm ties tells you it can do a lot more than just a trip to the shops think full-blown bik packing Adventures the aluminium frame is made with giants alux SLR technology which delivers the highest strength to weight ratio of any giant aluminum frame

Set to build in plenty of comfort it uses Giant’s defuse alloy seat posts which is designed to flexs more than a around seat post thanks to the d-shaped profile while a carbon Fork reduces vibration From the Rough surfaces there are two versions of the tough road the slr1 which comes fully Adventure ready

With front and rear racks has Shimano Dior 2×10 gearing and costs £1,499 here in the UK while the SLR two comes in at £ 1,299 and comes without racks though it does of course have the mounts for them and Shimano ultas 2×9 gears let us know down below which of

    1. I have a Trek DualSport hybrid, but use it as a flat bar’ gravel bike – done 350km all loaded up around King Alfred’s Way – love it, and not scared of damaging the alloy frame …

    2. I've been riding the Trek FX2 since 2022 but only got more serious riding this year. On group rides I was able to still outdo people on road bikes. Just purchased a road bike though so now I'll just be using it as my commuter bike.
