Liechtensteinklamm Austria , at the entrance to Grossarltal in St. Johann im Pongau is one of the deepest and longest gorges in the Alps. Allow yourself to be enchanted by the mighty thunder of the waterfall, by the lush green of the moss-covered rocks and the fine mists of water that conjure up rainbows.

Set out on a walk along safe wooden boardwalks through the gorge, which takes around 45 minutes one way.
Our tip: Since you are bound to get wet inside the Liechteinsteinklamm, we recommend saving this trip for a day when the weather is not quite so marvelous. Unless, of course, you are looking for a pleasant way to cool down on a hot summerโ€™s day.

    GEOLOGY OF THE LIECHTENSTEINKLAMM:
Totaling 4,000 meters, this gorge is one of the longest in the Alps, with around 1,000 meters accessible to visitors. The rock walls of the gorge are as much as 300 meters deep. At some points, the gorge is just a few meters wide. At the end of the gorge, a waterfall thunders towards the valley below.

    1. I have been there 33 years ago it wasn't as built up then as it is nowadays, but it was most enjoyable to see everything there and to be there
I spent 2 hours there , stopping many times, letting it all to sink in and looking at everything
There were only a few people there , which made it easy to appreciate all the scenery there
Nowadays , being all built up right up to the waterfall it sure is a tourist destination
But to see it again brings up memories for me , it was quite a highlight for me at the time to see it

    3. Having recently visited beautiful Austria, I'm sorry I missed this. However, you have in some sense saved us the trouble of going to this gorgeous gorge, George. What a fantastic natural setting! The smooth, measured camera work is much appreciated.

    4. Vielen Dank fรผr das schรถne Video. In meiner Jugendzeit (Nachkriegszeit) war ich einmal mit meinen Eltern dort. Damals war es noch nicht so gut und schรถn ausgebaut.

    5. Thank you for the waterfall. I can stand and look at one forever. My family has to drag me away. Everything was beautiful. Thank you for getting all the angles. What's really cool is that you're showing us where we want to go and on top of that we don't have to video tape it! When we want to see our vacation we'll just put your video on.Much more professionally done.
