BMW R1300 GS First Ride. Riding the brand new 2024 BMW R1300 GS for the first time. How does it compare to the outgoing GS1250 which I have owned for the past 4 years ?. Thanks to Wollaston BMW Northampton for the loan of the bike

    1. Well, I have to say that wasn't very informative. You kind of repeated yourself over and over and didn't established a good comparison with the former model. Maybe next time.

    2. Enjoyed that forget about the negativity through a couple of comments. I’m similar in mindset to you I sat on that very bike not sure springs to mind although I’ve not ridden it yet. It’s clean looking so easier to wash but I bet my gsa next to that would make it look small.

    3. The centre stand isn’t motorised. If you have the auto ride height option fitted then the suspension will rise from low to normal position to get the leverage on the stand back to standard, if you don’t have that option then no ‘assistance’ exists.

    4. The centerstand isnt motorised its the auto lowering shock that detects you are putting it on tje stand and automatically lifts the suspension back to the riding height if it didnt then the bike would be too low

    5. I enjoyed that; got some useful info from a real-world biker, not a stage-managed vlogger or a journalist on an all expenses paid-for trip…👍

    6. They changed it a lot. Will see how successful it is gonna be. I rode the 1150, 1200 and 1250 and filmed them. All were nice. Great video mate. Enjoyed it. Drop by, you may like my content.

    7. Gone like the cars, over priced clunkers, I am a gs owner and bm mech 40yrs, I’ve watched them slowly destroy themselves for greed. Rode them all still got four, test rode the new one for four days in Berlin, new one absolutely dreadfully bland. Sorry bm go try again this is a failure.

    8. 🤔 🤔 I ride a big GS ..NOT because I am over 40 ..but in part due to the condition of the roads & wanting the versatility.. alas uk roads are just not really favourable for 200bhp super bikes!! That said I’d be mindful of posting yourself on social media rinsing the speed limits for all to see .. no speed cameras or laser guns require …. it’s one thing telling people what you may do it’s another providing them with the demonstrable video evidence of actually doing it ..🤡

    9. For me, the 1250 is 'Peak GS' and the 1300, as lovely as it is, is a new bloodline, a GS II if you like. I'm sure it will find its buyers (younger probably 🧐) and will be a success.

    10. Small, ugly, cheap looking. For me those 3 things outweigh the more gadgets, power, torque etc and I very definitely wont be rushing off to buy it. The 1250 isnt lacking anywhere but its simply too big for many people – this ugly duckling addresses the problem. To be perfectly honest I am personally very disappointed ( long term owner 5 x GS and possibly no more if this is the future especially if the adv version has been cut down and cheapened too….. )
