Ashworth Waterfall

A short walk to swim in the Ashworth Waterfall

Starting from the car park in Norden: OL11 5SN

Hello and welcome to Rochdale we are going to find the Ashworth waterfall and this is where I’ve parked tiny little parking area in a place called Norton I think just off edenfield road I think it’s about 10° Sunny intervals in a gentle breeze and I think it’s Sunday the 22nd of October today

Third Time Lucky attempting this one it was raining too heavily the first time and then I ran out of time the second time I think that’s the water Ro there another a very popular swimming spot I don’t know if there’ll be anyone swimming there today I’m going to guess

Yes that sounds watery I believe that is the water we’re looking for very muddy around here little Weir a cute little Bridge it has rained a lot over the last few days terrible storm so I hope this waterfall is swimmable today it’s not looking too watery I think it’ll be fine

Little ruin in and a little rope swing this is not a long walk and I believe you can park closer to this waterfall I just chose that Village to make the walk a bit longer little waterfall but this is not the path we seem to be very high up up here

Water’s all the way down there I’ve read nothing about a deadly scramble to get to this this one so hopefully the path will descend soon I believe the waterfall is just below us but I have no idea how you get down to it ah it must be down

Here this is really more of a stream than a path wow there it is so close that’ll be the top of it and there’s a rope swing and a bit of a ruin wow that’s lovely clear water wow Ashworth waterfall can I swim in it Shame about the

Litter wow there’s some spray coming off that I don’t know what this is a ruin of some kind of Old Mill I’d guess how pretty and a little way there what a cool little location it’s a shame about all the rubbish well that was really more of a dip than a proper

Swim not a big pool and quite hard to swim against the force of that waterfall still lovely though and I had the place all to myself nobody came along while I was swimming hello ducky let’s see where this path goes oh bird sanctuary how cute and a horsey with a butterfly

This was the other spot I was thinking of parking looks like I chose correctly the NN Terminus play area oh a little Weir well I’m back at the car I have been here just under 2 hours and walked about 4.8k and I will see you for another adventure in just a moment thank
