Over 100 cyclists joined Ambassador Moser on October 19 in a bicycle ride along the 74 km Sarateni-Soroca (M2) road, newly rebuilt as a modern highway with $100 million in U.S. Government Millennium Challenge Compact funds. Ambassador Moser was joined by Prime Minister Leanca, government officials, local residents, biking enthusiasts, U.S. Embassy staff, as well as representatives from the Millennium Challenge Corporation and Millennium Challenge Moldava, on a ride that demonstrated the high quality and safety standards of the road, while celebrating this gift from the American people to Moldova. As part of the ride, the Cycling Federation of Moldova organized a 40 kilometer race for 47 professional cyclists.
