Waking up in Melk, we quickly find our way into the Wachau Valley, through the vineyards and orchards and villages along the Danube Cycle Path. Cycle touring through this part of Austria is a true paradise, with the Danube always close by and charming villages every few kilometers. We pass through Durnstein and Krems, beautiful and historic towns in the Valley. From there, we continue on the Eurovelo 6 into Vienna, where we check out the cities beautiful cityscapes and monuments, including the outstanding Gallery Belvedere. Here we have to decide where we go from here. More episodes to follow!

    1. Well done on the cycling and a great video. Looks like a trip we would like to take. Vienna is a great city for cycling

    2. Some of those places are off the scale beautiful. BTW, I can never imagine either of you not being civilized either on or off the bike 🙂 Take care. JP

    3. From where to where did you bike? How long was the route? Did you stop by any wineries for tasting along the way?

Apparently the well trodden path seems to be train from Vienna to Melk, ferry to Spitz, bike to Krems (via durnstein) then train back to vienna. Do you reckon this is double for a day trip in October? (Sunset at 6pm)
