In the second of our rides to do before you die series, we’re off to Spain. But we’re not riding in Calpe, or the Pyrenees, instead Matt and Emma headed to the relatively unknown roads of Andalucia!

With breathtaking views, tough climbs, and many possibilities for café stops, Andalucia ought to be on any cyclists bucket list. Matt and Emma were lucky enough to get to discover the roads (and the cafés!) for themselves.

    1. New cycling game. Instead of a shot, do a sprint every time Matt says ‘A cheeky one’

Seriously though, we were lucky to have Matt and Emma

    2. Coming back to this video, the natural vibe with Emma and Matt is incredibly enjoyable. I could watch them sort recycling. Fortunate they enjoy biking. Unfortunate they’re no longer on GCN!

    3. Actually, "alcornocal" means the forest where you can find "alcornoques", which is the tree ("alcornoque" in singular). Great video! Greetings from Madrid!

    4. My dad lives down there, nr. Granada. I get tired just walking, let alone cycling. I see a lot of people (clubs I guess) hitting the roads in pelotons. There was one guy absolutely smashing it and he only had one leg! The Alpujarra looks like a good ride if you like climbs…Regarding the roads, Spain has a long tradition with civil engineering and the main roads are excellent pretty much everywhere.

    5. Great video. Had plans to cycle round Andalucia this summer, but Covid put that on hold. Hoping to get there when the world opens up again. Emma – loved your Spanish interjections but I'm pretty sure paella comes from Valencia. They would fight a (culinary) war over that.

    6. Next time you come to Málaga, please prepare a route in Axarquia area, as someone told you: really hilly with a lot of climbs, smooth roads with less traffic, beautiful views… And it is very close from the airport, you can base in Vélez-Málaga o Torre del Mar. Hope to see you here soon😉

    7. Great scenery, video, audio, editing, cycling and bantering, love the chemistry. Cheers from Canada. (If you're thinking about cycling in Southern Spain, do it, you wont regret it )
