Best Christmas Markets in EUROPE | Episode 57

As we mentioned in the last week’s episode we  unfortunately won’t be able to visit Christmas Market in Europe this year but we truly love  this season as it’s such a special time of the year so we’ve decided to share with you our  top 10 Christmas markets to visit in Europe

In case you’re new here we’re Natalia and Michael  and as we value your time let’s dive into the Christmas Atmosphere with Innsbruck a Charming  City in Austria surrounded by mountains where you can travel in time as you may expect there  are multiple Christmas Markets around Innsbruck

And we love the most the one on the marketplace  by the river Inn where you can warm up with mulled wine and try a local food called Kiachl Natalia  had a sweet blueberry flavour and I went for a

Cabbage one mmm so good I went with the same but  with the cabbage on the top so it’s not sweet but salty so let’s taste the bottom the top one mmm so strong flavour really this will make it really good

Admire wonderful colorful houses  on the other side of the riverbank and then hop on over 100 years old festive tram for free  this 100 years old tram is riding Charming Innsbruck City Center only during holiday  season as it is part of tyrolean railway museum

Festively decorated it has the attention  of everybody between the streets the next place where we want to take you  is the magical Mountain Christmas Village settled at around 1,550 M about sea level  idyllic Dolomites landscape peaceful Advent Melodies and

Tasty food will make you fall in love with Val Garda  where you instantly feel like in a movie beside soaking up the festive vibes you can easily hit the slopes as Selva is directly  connected to over 500 KM of ski slopes

After that you can relax in different Spa  Hotels and enjoy award-winning unique restaurants all around let’s be honest is this the most  romantic Christmas winter village you’ve ever seen during the pre- Christmas season the  old town of St Gallen literally turns into a fairytale

I have to admit that this is one of the  most unique Christmas light decorations on the street we have experienced 700 Stars  Sparkle about the streets and the smell of fresh roasted chestnuts is everywhere this  city has a special place in our hearts and

Its wonderful Swiss gem to visit all year around  connected with a direct 1hour train ride with Zurich St Gallen is a perfect day trip option once  you’re already in this part of Switzerland while strolling the old town of St Gallen  you can admire a huge sparkling Christmas

Tree in front of the Majestic Cathedral  and discover a library which houses one of the oldest and richest literature collection  in the world have you heard about this city before another spot on our list with the  best Christmas markets to visit is Merano

An inviting town with snow covered mountains  all around strolling this place during the Christmas time you can experience a magical atmosphere with  local concerts authentic customs and sustainable handicraft festively decorated streets filled  with the smell of mulled wine and gingerbread

Will teleport you to another world oh guys how I  wish we could bring the smell of this mulled wine to you in case you get cold you don’t have to  worry as Merano has deeply rooted tradition of

Being famous for its Spa thermal baths you find  here numerous places where you can regain the energy and relax all your senses are you ready  to explore the south tyrolean gem voted as the best Christmas Market in Europe 2 years  ago Basel has made it to our top 10 Christmas

Markets to visit in 2023 the city on the Rhine  River lays on the borders of Switzerland France and Germany it has a special Charming vibe  during the Advent time festively decorated Old Town offers lot of things to do and see  there are two main Christmas markets located

Just few minutes walk from each other hello  what these are all the same all the same you can choose a four different kind of sauce herbs garlic paprika and basic okay I would go for garlic please thank you so much

What did you get oh I get real  potato chips fried in front of me and cut also mmm wonderful historic streets of this Tiny Town become warmer during the Christmas time Vipiteno Sterzing lies in North Italy just few kilometers from  the Austrian borders cozy Christmas lights make

It even more romantic during this time of the  year wooden stalls full of handcrafted local goods and freshly baked pastry can cheer you  up on each Corner besides visiting the tiny old town you can take a cable card directly  from the town of Vipiteno Sterzing to get to the Rosskopf

Monte Cavallo Mountain not only to ski or hike but also  to rent sleds and experience the longest winter toboggan run in Italy during this sledding Adventure  you can enjoy 10 KM long maintained run either during the day or even during the night would  you be upt to try this

Have you ever seen Christmas tree made up from beer bottles  at this beer Christmas Forest it’s possible Forst is a south tyrolean brewing company based near  Merano during the Christmas time this place becomes a romantic tiny village where you find  yourself in the middle of decorated trees and

Sparkling lights welcomed with regional dishes  and Forst specialty beers there are multiple options but to enjoy this place to the fullest  you can book your own small hut and stay warm and cozy in the middle of this fairy tale looking  forest garden whether you are a beer fan or not

You will love this place [Music] visiting Zurich during the Christmas time is just something else besides the outdoor markets you can explore  here one of the largest indoor Christmas Market in Europe offering over 140 stalls it takes place  in the main concurse of the Zurich’s Train station

The highlight of this Zurich indoor market is definitely  the 10 M tall human powered Christmas tree I’ve never seen this before it’s a Christmas tree  powered by human power you can just hop on the bicycle and pedal and you see how the lights are  going on another incredibly inviting spot in Zurich

Is the Christmas Village next to the lake shore  with a wonderful backdrop of the Opera House and the light bulbs set up all over the place make  the whole vibe even more beautiful have you been in Zurich before in the heart of famous Val Gardena you find a Charming historic town

Of Ortisei it’s usually covered in snow during this  season and small wooden stalls offer a lot of local south tyrolean products and Ladin Traditions  besides decorations you can admire and even buy wooden artworks created by locals while exploring  Ortisei you find numerous cool things to do and

See as for example these ice towers which are  basically wooden structures with the sprinkle on the top where the water freezes immediately and  forms these beautiful art pieces from the center of Ortisei you can take a cable car to multiple  directions and enjoy winter Mountain Landscapes

Christmas holidays in Alsace region  is such a bucketlist experience that’s why our next tip where to enjoy Christmas markets in Europe  is Colmar this fully decorated and illuminated Town literally turns into a fairy tale during this  time just about 2 hours train ride from Paris

You can find yourself in totally different  world Each corner is full of Christmas gift ideas souvenirs and lovely products also have  to mention culinary specialties mostly sweet Pleasures which make your experience even more  wonderful what can be better than having your

French Crepes in France getting covered by snow the magic of Christmas in Colmar just hits different before we end up this episode  we want to say thank you for being here hope we inspired you with some spots  where to catch the Advent atmosphere I

    4. Oh wow so many wonderful Christmas markets, as much as we love Christmas in the UK, we don't do the markets as well as mainland Europe. I have only so far been to a number of markets in Bavaria, Germany and they were fantastic. You have opened my eyes for so many more.
