Tadej Pogačar’s Giro-Tour DOUBLE Will Make HISTORY

Tadej Pogačar has just announced that in 2024, he’ll be pushing hit limits and entering unknown territory, taking on both the Giro d’Italia and the Tour de France. Many grand tour champions in history have tried to get their hands on as many yellow jerseys as possible before taking on the Giro-Tour double, but Pogačar decided it’s time to step up his game, and warm up for the Tour de France a bit differently this time around.

pogacha has just announced that in 2024 he’ll be pushing hit limits and entering unknown territory taking on both the Jiro diaria and the tour to France many Grand Tour champions in history have tried to get their hands on as many yellow jerseys as possible before taking on the Jiro tour double

But pogacha decided it’s time to step up his game and warm up for the tour def France a bit differently this time around see Chris FR is the rider who came the closest to winning the double in the past years and even he waited until 2018 to take on the jro and before

That he managed to win four yellow jerseys when he went to the jro though he did win it but finished third at that Year’s tour but the catch is that pogar is no FR he’s been doing things his own way since he first appeared on the world

Stage in 2019 with UAE Emirates he’s just like that perfect doesn’t exist meme but with him in the picture next to the text he’s a rider capable of winning any kind of race whether that be a grand tour Monument Cobble gravel and everything in between but he’s never

Raced more than one grand tour per season since his Vela espa debut in 2019 so this one is going to be a first many fans have started wondering why pogar and his team decided to go for the double now and when you look at it from the right perspective it actually makes

Perfect sense he is 25 years old and reaching the full peak of his powers it just seems like pushing into the unknown would be the right thing to do instead of waiting for a few more yellow jerseys then again he’s won two yellow jerseys a handful of monuments and just about

Every other race except of course the WTA jro and World title and then there’s that little pogar factor which is telling him not to wait any longer and to go for the jro if he feels like doing so he admitted that he’s not so young

Anymore and that he thinks he can do two grand Tours in one season he’s also aware that he could have probably done it before but it just feels like a nice time to have a challenge in his career he also added I know myself well now if

Nothing goes wrong in my head I can do all three grand Tours if I want you don’t know until you try this is a good year to do 100% in jro and 100% in tour I think it can be super good or it can

Be just not so good but he decided to go for two first since going from one grand tour to three grand Tours in a season sounds like too big of a bounce especially when you’re actually trying to win all of them many people don’t

Know this but the jro was meant to be in pogach Char’s program in 2020 the reason behind him not doing it though was quite funny he simply performed too well at his 2019 Welter debut and there wasn’t really anyone better than him on the team at the time so the UAE team

Emirates decided to take him directly to the tour the UAE Sports director said we had already spoken about the jro in his first season and after the Welter that year we were thinking about the Jiro but we began to believe he was capable of racing the tour tday is now capable of

Racing two grand Tours in one season the time is right and honestly it seems like the stars are aligning for pogacha in multiple ways since in addition to him and his team thinking he can do it the 2024 Jiro route also isn’t too hard but rather just hard enough the Jiro

Organizers clearly did pogar a favor when designing the 2024 route it literally feels like they were trying to attract him for starters there are two quite longtime trials where pogar could easily gain against pretty much any rival with not too much of a cost then the final week is relatively light

Compared to what it usually looks like in fact there’s a whopping 10,000 less vertical feet of climbing across the entire race that’s because next year jro won’t dip into the higher roads in the Alps that are often located at the French Italian border and that’s exactly why this isn’t a typical old school

Brutal jro it’s the jro light and they call it that for a reason pogach Char’s comment on the route was this though it’s an interesting route and I will try to Recon some of the key stages I think it’s a balanced route that could be good

For me it’s not nice in the jro if there are 20 days of rain so let’s hope for good weather so that we don’t suffer too much but I think everyone suffers at the jro his trainer also added sometimes Tad can suffer at the High Altitude so this

Course could be better for him the route fits well to his abilities there’s nothing on the jro route he will not be able to handle and the time trials are also good for him the only thing he and the staff are afraid of is the weather the jro is always challenging and bad

Weather doesn’t do any justice to that especially in May the weather can be quite unpredictable but the UAE still hope they can face the jro do just enough to win it and save some fuel in the tank for the tour as well but that’s still a very thin line they’re walking

On since looking back in history only a few Riders actually managed to do it see there’s a bit over a month 33 days to be precise between the jro and the tour in 2024 and according to pogar and the entire team staff that’s more than enough for him to come off the jro

Recover and clock in for the tour with a full tank plus he’s got the confidence that he’s got the capacity to do it so that itself is very powerful he said I think there is time to recover a bit and still be ready for the tour the idea is

To not to go too deep in the Jiro and come out of it in a pretty good level I can hold a high level for a long time so I hope to be there to be in the fight at the tour in the end for example for me

And yonas Vore to fight at the same level and you never know what can happen there’s another little issue that pogach Char’s trainer pointed out though the opening stages of the 2024 tour to France begin in Italy with a string of some difficult stages across the appenines what this means means is that

After 4 weeks of recovery pogacha is going to be at a high level from the very start his trainer said you won’t be able to ride into the jro because the first stages are very demanding in the tour today is so talented he can win any

Race he starts we see it as complicated but not impossible what came as a surprise though is that the UAE staff actually backed pogach Char’s wish to race the jro while the Tour of France is still their top priority they also know that it’s key to give him some freedom

And find space for his widening Ambitions on this pogacha said if you do the same story every year for my body it would not be good I think they saw this in the team and when I proposed this to them they immediately said yes I like to

Make new challenges to change things a little bit however him going for the jro to a double means he’s moving away from the Classics for a little bit so we won’t see him defending the tour of Flanders anytime soon fear less though since strad bian Milano Sano Li Baston

Li the Olympics and the World Championships are still on his schedule and he’s ready to crush them all even the team boss Mao janetti said that there’s a new project every year with Tad the past two years it was the northern Classics and The Monuments he won Flanders and was second the year

Before and he’s won Li and lombardia now it’s time for the jro he also claimed pogacha would be the leader in both races with a guarantee of all the support he needs in gianetti’s words the team is ready to support in this next challenge we have Riders like Yates

Almeida COV and auso for the tour they can go and learn but be there for and the same at the Jiro he will have the support he’s Tad there is no other Rider like him we want to support and we know the fans want to see him race the

Jro so why would we say no see after all pogar made made it clear multiple times that he wants to win all three grand Tours and obviously the chance to repeat the Jiro tour double which hasn’t been achieved since Marco pantani pulled it off in 1998 is that much more appealing

Even pogar admitted pantani was a little before my time but I know the story everybody wants to do the double and it’s one of the hardest things to win to achieve I think the main goal for all the GC Riders who have already won a

Grand tour is to have all three of them and then there’s the last challenge the hilly course in Zurich Taylor Made for pogar and his racing style after finishing the tour he’s set to race the Olympic games and some Canadian one dayss to get ready for the worlds he

Said let’s see first how it goes with the jro and then the tour let’s not think about the double but just let’s go to enjoy some long racing in the entire history of the sport only two Riders have won the jro the tour and the world

Title in the same year and those were Eddie MKS and Steven Raj and if anyone could do in the era we’re in right now it’s Tad pogacha

    1. Absolutely no chance of this happening. The Giro-Tour double cannot be done in this day and age. Far too much competition in both GTs, and the speed and intensity with which the modern peloton rides makes it impossible to recover in ‘non-GC’ days. Pogacar cannot be that guy who rides for self-preservation – he’s an entertainer.

    2. Sorry, but Froome won the Tour, Vuelta and then the Giro – not in the same calendar year…then followed it up with 3rd in the Tour to Thomas.
Pogacar is a different type of rider but he has a long way to go…

FALSE. The highest, iconic mountains of Giro are usually very far away from the French Italian Border.

Stelvio, Mortirolo, Zoncolan, Dolomites are in the Central-Eastern part of the Alps.
So, please, correct, this sounds so abruptly ridiculous for an average italian cycling enthusiast
