LINEA 6 Metro de Santiago, Chile
    Trayecto Los Leones – Cerrillos
    Trenes automáticos CAF AS2014
    Fecha: 24 Octubre / 05 Noviembre 2023
    Cámaras: Canon G7X MK3

Hello everyone! How are you? My name is ‘Ariel Cruz Pizarro’ and with great joy, much love today I will give you a tour of ‘Line 6’ of the ‘Santiago Metro’, the first 100% automated line in the city with some exits outside ‘Line 6’. ‘ runs from ‘Los Leones’ to ‘Cerrillos’ at this time

From end to end it takes us about 30 minutes to travel east to west. This is the access to ‘Line 6’ from the ‘Los Leones’ station on ‘Avenida Providencia’ with ‘Avenida Sweden’, commune of ‘Providencia’ the station is parallel to ‘Avenida Sweden’ an important fact when we are down

The symbol of the station is precisely the pair of lion sculptures that is on ‘Avenida Providencia’ with ‘Avenida Los Leones’ ‘ A couple of blocks from the ‘Providencia’ station, it is one of the most beautiful communes of ‘Santiago’ and one of the most important, a large commercial and work hub.

In this area we are seeing the ‘Cathedral Military’, there are residential areas , office buildings, shops, many people come here all day long, now it appears empty because it is a Sunday, haha, but normally a lot of people come and all this is full of people

And we are close to the ‘Costanera Center’ tower, it makes me happy do this thing of showing the ‘Metro’ lines one by one with a lot of detail, so that they can feel that they know each line and that they feel like a person from ‘Santiago’ who sits here in an immersive experience.

I publish trips in Public transport, trips to beautiful or tourist places is what I am passionate about, and doing this makes me very happy. The new lines 3 and 6 do not have ticket offices with people, they only have self-service machines to buy and load the ‘Bip Card’

Which is the the only means of payment for urban public transport in ‘Santiago’ here I am entering the ‘Metro’, it cost me $20 pesos because I came from transferring to a bus in the video of ‘Santiago in public transport’ I explained with many trips in a practical way how all public transportation works

With trips on almost all ‘Metro’ lines, I traveled by train in electric buses, articulated buses and we saw many areas of the city now we see a bookstore inside the ‘Metro’ there are many types of stores and commerce The ‘Metro’, the buses and the ‘Metrotren Nos’ train are paid with this card.

The ‘Metro’ fare costs between 650 and 810 pesos depending on the schedule at the moment, haha, from the editing of the video but you think it is 1 dollar and you can combine with other means of transport within 2 hours after many escalators we arrived at the ‘Los Leones’ station on ‘Line 6’

Almost all the stations on this line are very deep, there are many stairs down , yes, before to go down to the platform let’s see the combination with ‘Line 1’ and from there we make the trip in this video, just as in the video of ‘Line 3’ I made all the combinations

‘Los Leones’ is a combination with ‘Line 1’ which is the line that runs along the axis of ‘Alameda’, ‘Avenida Providencia’ and ‘Apoquindo’, is the most important line in the city and this is the ‘Vía Sweden’, the combination corridor between both lines that is just below ‘Avenida Sweden’

The ‘Embassy of Sweden’ prepared this mural highlighting many things and milestones in Swedish history, its culture, historical figures here we see the group ‘ABBA’ ‘Chiquitita’, ‘Dancing queen’ and many other great songs that come to mind and well, ‘Line 1’ is not as deep as ‘Line 6’

So now I have to climb several stairs and walk until I reach the ‘Line 1’ station, this is another staircase ‘Los Leones’ on ‘Line 1’ has trains with pneumatic treads in addition to some ceramic mosaics that are preserved, many stations had this type of ceramics

, now yes, we are on the platform of ‘Line 6’, direction ‘Cerrillos’ and it was important to see ‘Line 1’ to understand something many people that takes this line, does so from other lines. This line is designed as an express route, with few stops

That runs parallel to ‘Line 1’ and serves to decongest it. and it is effectively what distributes people within the ‘Metro’ network and decompresses the lines. It was the first ‘Metro’ line in ‘Santiago’ that has 100% automated trains and platform doors Voice of ‘Metro’: Welcome to ‘Metro’ of ‘Santiago’… …welcome to ‘Metro’ of ‘Santiago’ Voice of ‘Metro’: Caution, doors closing begins Voice of ‘Metro’ ‘: train bound for ‘Cerrillos’ station well, you are already seeing what these ‘CAF AS2014’ trains are like. Inside, they are wide trains with air conditioning, very comfortable for a trip that is not long at all and I got in the front , because it is the most exciting part

As soon as they opened the line, I think we all came to do this to see the tunnels and see the crossing with the other trains on this line, you feel like the ‘Metro’ driver is like a little child, adults with the soul of a child

There are light signals to indicate the next station with a blink and the missing stations are illuminated as the train screen says, the next station is ‘Inés de Suárez’ which has several curious things this is the view of ‘Inés de Suárez’ with the train entering the station also has white walls.

The stations are very similar to each other. We will see it throughout this trip. The symbol of ‘Inés de Suárez’ is a bridge and some trees. Each station has a symbol. , and each station has maps both in the platform area and in the mesa area where the entrances are.

This is the map of the surroundings. The station is in ‘Pedro de Valdivia’ with ‘Francisco Bilbao’ with my finger pointing to ‘ Parque Inés de Suárez’ which gives its name to the station and the station is in ‘Plaza Pedro de Valdivia’ several ‘Metro’ stations, not all, have bicycle parking,

This is called ‘Línea Cero’, and it is free parking Before it was paid, now it is free although this particular one does not have many bicycles in that afternoon all the stations also have elevators which receive a lot of people and you have to wait for them

In this area, ‘Line 6’ goes under ‘Avenida Pedro de Valdivia’ which is the avenue we are seeing, and which gives its name to the square every year there is the ‘Santiago in 100 words’ contest, a 100-word micro-story contest , and featured stories appear at bus stops and ‘Metro’ stations . winners

I read ‘Paper butter’ by the young ‘Gabriela Salgado Ortiz’ while we see the square ‘Pedro de Valdivia’ award for young talent at 16 years old, he says he was like the typical student that every Chilean once had in his class he only got good grades

And at recess he ate bread with ham and butter while watching the popular kids play soccer with a paper ball. It was obvious that he wanted to play, everyone knew it and that’s why they called it butter paper. It was so transparent, so transparent, so transparent. And everyone knew it

, it is a good story, the capacity for expression that we have with 100 words is incredible, there are very good stories and people like me who write very long things and make very long videos, hahahaha and this square is very beautiful here you see me greeting the camera, enjoying the outside With the doors closed, we return to the depths of the earth this is the detail of the space for wheelchairs and people with disabilities in the ‘Metro’ on the other hand, this is the seats The ‘CAF AS2014’ train does not have padding, but it is ergonomic and comfortable.

These automated trains operate on ‘Line 3’ and ‘Line 6’. Both lines have the same train technologies, design, and are very similar. ‘Line 6’ is from 2017 and ‘Line 3’ is from 2019 ‘Ñuñoa’, which has a snail-type commercial building as a symbol, is a combination station between ‘Line 6’ and ‘Line 3’

In ‘Pedro de Valdivia’ with ‘Irarrázaval’ I can walk, but it is Sunday, no one is there then I can show what the elevators are like Go up + elevator sound Elevator sound + exit When leaving, there is a yellow path with reliefs that is for blind people but that is also used to follow the route to the combination and exit, that has also been in all stations throughout the ‘Metro’ network for years and if not, looking up there are posters or signs

That indicate where to make the combination or the exits told you that the design or The layout of ‘Line 6’ was to redistribute people within the network. This is a photo or an illustration of people in the snow, in mountains.

I don’t know if it is a photo or something that looks real, but it is very realistic and it is beautiful in the paintings. There were also literary works, I took advantage of the combination to read them one of the landscape poems by ‘Rosabetty Muñoz’, from the rainy south for us, she says

At night / the belly and the teapot / are the only landscape available I cross my hands and I nod over the embers appreciated moment in which the others / loosen the fence around me the loves that surround me / lose substance with threads of colors I embroider the canvas of waiting

Images appear / painted horses / rainy corners / flying children and your beautiful head always unfinished Voice of ‘Metro’: Next station, next station, ‘Estadio Nacional’ and as the voice of ‘Metro’ says, of ‘Gloria Loyola’ who is the voice of ‘Metro’ since 2009 an affectionate greeting to her and her beautiful voice this station is ‘Estadio Nacional’, in ‘Pedro de Valdivia’ with ‘Grecia’ the symbol obviously has to be a stadium

It is the stadium where the Chilean national team plays also ‘Universidad de Chile’ plays ‘ and the stadium is much more than a football stadium , it is a sports park, it has many other disciplines: tennis, swimming, athletics, skating, there are many, it is a place of memory,

The station is huge precisely because there are massive events , concerts, games, etc. and the stadium has several entrances but here I am walking along ‘Avenida Grecia’ on ‘Line 6’, the trip here takes 10 minutes by bus along ‘Pedro de Valdivia’ it would take about double that, about 20 minutes

One of The landmark of the stadium is the one called ‘Pilucho’, because it is naked. The official name is ‘Discóbolo’, donated by the Greeks in 1958 thanks to this humble naked bronze man. ‘Avenida Grecia’ is called ‘Avenida Grecia’, for that reason As a gift,

I recorded this in parallel with the trip of the ‘520’ so we see one of the double-decker buses making the route from ‘Metro Pajaritos’ to ‘Estadio Nacional’, you have to see that bus trip, it’s very entertaining and those buses The double-deckers are very nice for trips here in ‘Santiago’ I hope you are having a good time, hahaha under the ground, this train stops circulating on ‘Avenida Pedro de Valdivia’ and begins to make its turn towards the west, towards the coast to reach the station ‘Ñuble’ Voice of ‘Metro’: ‘Ñuble’, combination to ‘Line 5’ / transfer to ‘Line 5’

These stations of ‘Line 3’ and ‘Line 6’ have These bars , the so-called ischial supports, are supposed to make it easier to get on the train because instead of sitting, you are semi-standing, you remain like this, although honestly I prefer the old school with the normal seats, these stations do not have seats,

Here we see another vision of these ischial supports that are a trend in various public transport and public space areas, the ‘Ñuble’ symbol is a bridge that we will see, and as you already know it is a combination with ‘Line 5’, with the green line on the maps of the platforms and mesanina,

In addition to the map with the surroundings of the station, we also have maps of the interior of the station with its levels or floors. In ‘Chile’ we do not have the Ground Floor or Floor 0, we have -1 and 1, and 1 is the surface

The ‘Line 5’ station is on floor 2 and the ‘Line 6’ station is on the -4 subway, although there is quite a bit of height between each floor, this combination is one of the longest not because of the distance but because of the height, Although on paper there are 6 floors below

Or 6 floors that we have to go up, in reality between each floor there is a lot of height in the underground part according to what I searched on the internet, investigating these ‘Line 6 stations may be a little different ‘they are between 20 and 25 meters deep,

The ‘Ñuble’ excavation shaft was about 22 meters deep , it is truly a building but down you have to climb three long escalators to reach the surface level, Floor 1 after all that , you have to climb another staircase, but it is a normal staircase

Because the escalator goes down, not up… it is a daily odyssey. I have a lot of love and appreciation for the ‘Metro’ but really combining the ‘Ñuble’ station here requires patience and effort. ‘Line 5’ is on Floor 2, on a bridge, ‘Avenida Carlos Dittborn’ is below. In the past, the bars were different

, there was greater visibility towards the street, it was better to see, but also on rainy days, the rain wet the platforms . I imagine that’s why they closed it like this before ‘Line 6’, people used to get off here to get to the ‘National Stadium’. It’s about 1 km to ‘Avenida Marathon’

And almost 2 km to the access to ‘Avenida Grecia’. It’s a nice station in ‘Ñuble’, one of my favorite photos is when the train arrives from the elevated viaduct and I just managed to emulate that photo that I took with this train ‘Alsthom NS74’, the first train model of the ‘Metro’ of ‘Santiago’,

The one that inaugurated the ‘Metro’ in 1975 is the contrast of the newest and the oldest, right next to me, another French train ‘Alstom NS93’ arrived, a beauty as a curious thing, a birthday greeting appeared on the information screens of the ‘Metro’ for ‘Line 6’ on that day

It was inaugurated on November 2, 2017. Happy birthday ‘Line 6’! It is always great to see the crossings of the trains after ‘Ñuble’ comes ‘Bio Bio’ which is in ‘Centenario’ with ‘Avenida Santa Rosa’ on the southern limit of the commune of ‘Santiago’ where it once ended the city and the industrial area began. This area had textile and leather industries and the ‘Franklin’ slaughterhouse.

It is a popular neighborhood that is now eminently commercial. The entire area is a large Persian market of which the best known is the ‘Persa Bio Bio’. and a short distance away, about 500 meters in the same ‘Franklin’ neighborhood with everything I told you,

Is the ‘Franklin’ station which is a combination with ‘Line 2’ in ‘Centenario’ with ‘Gran Avenida’ the symbol is a tower that served as the entrance to the slaughterhouse on ‘Arturo Prat’ and ‘Bio Bio’ streets, we have had combinations with ‘Line 1’, ‘Line 3’, ‘Line 5’ now ‘Line 2’

In all these cases, ‘Line 6’ serves As an alternative and something that decongests ‘Line 1’ and its combination stations in the traditional way, from ‘Los Leones’ one would have to reach ‘Los Héroes’ and from there combine to reach ‘Franklin’ in similar time, ‘Line 6’ takes a little less

But between how much you walk and the waiting time for the trains it is almost the same, what makes the difference is the comfort because on ‘Line 6’ you rarely travel cramped, you have a lot of space everything is quieter,

On the other hand, on the other lines there are usually a lot of people. This part is the area of the old ‘Line 2’ station. They changed the entire layout of spaces. We can see the typical ceramics of the old lines,

The new entrances, and the ticket office. It is no longer a ticket office, there are only self-service machines. ‘Franklin’ also has an intermodal station with local bus routes such as the ‘D05’ and ‘E04’ buses that I have shown in other episodes. Here I am going down to the

‘Line 2’ platform. the yellow line, 1978 The shape of the stations is different. ‘Franklin’ was built in an open pit, that is why it has right angles. However , in the new stations, for decades what has been done is an excavation shaft and tunnel boring machines are used

To shape it. curve to the tunnels and stations here we see an ‘Alstom NS2016’ train, the modern version of the ‘NS74’ as an annex, among the combination is this beautiful painting ‘Story of a Slaughterer’, by ‘Rodrigo Estay’ where the old life is portrayed from the ‘Franklin’ neighborhood

At the time of the slaughterhouse many years ago Hello! Hahaha we are arriving at the ‘Presidente Pedro Aguirre Cerda’ station which is in ‘Carlos Valdovinos’ with ‘Club Hífico’ Voice of ‘Metro’: ‘Pedro Aguirre Cerda’ portray public transport, or document it in this case I think it has very beautiful

Is to portray a little of how people live, how they move here is the daily life of many people they are scenes of daily life and I like to see daily life with different eyes ‘Lo Valledor Station’, combination with the train ‘ Metrotren Nos’ also called train ‘Nos – Estación Central’

Looking at what photo I could take, I found this scene very interesting there are some great views on these new lines with the reflections and the neatness of the stations ‘Lo Valledor’ has the symbol of a fruit basket because we have the ‘Lo Valledor’ market nearby,

Which is the largest fruit and vegetable market in ‘Chile’ from here the free fairs of ‘Santiago’ are supplied along with other markets, it is a wholesale market I here I’m going up, and we just see the mural dedicated to the market of ‘Lo Valledor’, by ‘Guillermo Valdivia’,

A painter who has done several works of heritage art. The mural is beautiful, I really like to see it when I come to this station, it has very nice details. and you can see the love in ‘Lo Valledor’, to combine with the train we have to leave the station and the ‘Metro’ network,

This is not like the other combinations, if later we want to return to the ‘Metro’ we have to pay the full fare again, which is what I will do, haha we see the ‘Line 6’ stations with their symbols and the card loading machines, there are no ticket offices

And in the ‘Metro’ network, we are here crossing the railway tracks that come from ‘Central Station’ all that long journey is the train that goes to ‘Nos’ a remote part on the southern edge of the city I go up the escalators, we leave the ‘Line 6’ station

To be able to see and enter The train station is a combination that many people use, including me. They have seen me do this to get to or leave the ‘San Borja Terminal’ in some videos. This station does have a ticket office, although they do not sell tickets,

But there is a ‘Bip Card’ sale and loading. ‘ and we have to dial, pay the fare and paying, one enters the train service, which is at the top of these stairs, the ‘Metrotren Nos’ train. I have already shown it in a dedicated video,

It is a service that has these ‘Alstom Xtrapolis’ trains. Modular’ a service that moves many passengers many people take this train for its speed and comfort the travel time from end to end is 27 minutes frequencies of 6 to 10 minutes during the week, 12 to 15 minutes on Saturday

And 20 minutes on Sunday About the day of the recording I stayed at the station for a while, a long time hahaha looking at the mountains with snow, something can be seen from here but above all hoping to be able to see and record what

One of the new Chinese trains is coming ‘CRRC SFE’ working the ‘Metrotren Rancagua’ service Beautiful that train does not stop here, we only see it pass as it was Sunday and the trains were almost empty with very few passengers, I took several recorded photos, I left the camera recording and then I took The frames to take photos are the last one for us provisionally

Because ‘Line 6’ will have new stations at both ends but for now, the terminal station is ‘Cerrillos’ in ‘Departamental’ with ‘Camino a Melipilla’ also called ‘Avenida Pedro Aguirre Cerda’ this time we have to change tracks we will enter through the other route towards the ‘Cerrillos’ station for my part

I hope that the love I put into it is transmitted to these videos or the enthusiasm and joy that I feel, it has been a couple of very fun afternoons touring ‘Line 6’ I left the house with great enthusiasm with that mission and objective

I said: today I will record ‘Line 6’ and it will be a ride unforgettable, and this has been the ‘Cerrillos’ station, on the platforms it is almost the same as the others as we enter through the other way, the passengers get off

And immediately the people who are on the platform get on the train and there goes the little train that took me from ‘Los Leones’ because I made the trip in one go hahaha I made the combinations on the return trip one by one, which is what you saw

‘Cerrillos’ has an aeronautical symbol, and it is an area aeronautics formerly there was the ‘Cerrillos Aerodrome’ which was the main airport of ‘Santiago’ for years and which closed in 2006 because it was already very urbanized in its surroundings but there is still the ‘Aeronautical and Space Museum’

And in that space of the aerodrome there are a park and there is the village of the Pan American games, events are held, there are several things for those who know about the ‘Metro’ or want to visit it. ‘Cerrillos’ is the station that has a plane inside. I think it catches anyone’s attention,

But That is why the plane was brought from the museum to the station and we can enjoy it here as a nod to all that aeronautical history. Something very entertaining. These are the entrances to ‘Cerrillos’. It is a station that is also underground in design. It is similar to all the other stations

And the mural is called ‘The dream of flying’, by ‘José Yutronic’ the plane is a ‘Cessna T37 Tweet’ donated by the ‘FACH Air Force’ to the museum and from the museum they brought it to the station when it was under construction now I’m going down because I have to go back…

Let’s see a mini file and I’ll share with you what’s missing extra scenes from this trip along ‘Line 6’ of the ‘Metro’ of ‘Santiago’ all these videos are presented by my books ‘Corte de Cinta’, ‘The Heroes of Time’, ‘Blessed Elegance’

‘Iris the sound of the conch shells’. If you like what I do, you will love my books, grateful to ‘Mio Angel’, ‘Zezinho’ and ‘Mariano’, members of the channel and also to those who contribute with their ‘Super Thanks’ thanks to you I can continue making these videos with a lot of love

At one point in the day, I was on an empty train so you can get to know these fully automated ‘CAF AS2014’ trains a little better, a very everyday sight for those of us who use ‘Line 6’. I use it a lot to travel more comfortably

When I was a kid and took photos of the ‘Metro’ because I started like that, I set out to photograph all the ‘Metro’ stations and in one full day I traveled an entire line doing that. I always liked it, so coming here to do this to show these trains, this line, the experience

That they feel like they are traveling through the stations and some of the exteriors is gratifying, I am still the same child, only at a different age and sitting in a folding seat Voice from ‘Metro’: Train bound for ‘Los Leones’ station

At the end, in life I believe that one cannot stop being oneself, that is… of power, it is possible, haha, but deep down each of us has an essence, something that makes us be ourselves, so we change, transforming, maturing, the body It changes

But the passions or the shine in our little eyes, that remains, I will be ‘Ariel’ here and in the chili ravine, yesterday, today and tomorrow, hahaha with all my heart, this child and man at the same time thanks you for getting this far in the video for enjoying with me these urban adventures

Of this trip on ‘Line 6’ in this case and all the videos of public transport or beautiful trips that I am sharing Reading your comments and receiving your good vibes is something very nice. I thank God every day for every day for all these blessings and to be able to do these things.

It is a beautiful job to dedicate myself to showing public transportation and people’s lives . To do these. videos is a huge effort I have other jobs that I do at the same time, I do many things but I leave with a smile

I hope you have enjoyed it a lot, that you have felt here that you have learned, that you can feel in ‘Santiago’ and that you feel that you are traveling this city with a friend I take you for a walk with my eyes and my heart

I say goodbye in this articulated bus, I invite you to watch the other videos the other lines, the other things have a nice day, may God bless you very much and we will see you in more adventures. Really, thanks for tuning in . Bye, take care! Ha ha ha
