    Over the course of ten days and 435 miles, an unbreakable bond is forged between pro adventure racer Michael Light (Mark Wahlberg) and a scrappy street dog companion dubbed Arthur. Based on an incredible true story, ARTHUR THE KING follows Light, desperate for one last chance to win, as he convinces a sponsor to back him and a team of athletes (Simu Liu, Nathalie Emmanuel, and Ali Suliman) for the Adventure Racing World Championship in the Dominican Republic. As the team is pushed to their outer limits of endurance in the race, Arthur redefines what victory, loyalty and friendship truly mean.

    – Leave the stupid dog and let’s go. Come on. Move, you dumb dog. – What is it, boy? – Oh. – Oh, God. – Can’t believe I almost walked right off that cliff. Extra meatballs for you, my friend. He’s hurting. What do you think he went through before he met us?

    – Whatever it was, it wasn’t good. – How the hell did he get all the way from here to there? While we were on bikes and zip lines and running and climbing? – He must have wings. We don’t know about. – Good boy. ♪ You know I’m back, like I never left ♪

    – You wanna start to embrace the buckets of pain. – I need a bigger bucket. – Team Broadrail has traveled over 200 miles, and they’ve found a companion. – Daddy has a dog. – What have you done? – Think you found a new partner in suffering, Michael.

    – Yeah, he’s the king. I think we should call him Arthur. Arthur the King. – How’s he doing? – He’s been through so much. – This dog needs a vet. – I don’t want you to hurt anymore. He’s a fighter. – Just like you.

      In 1986, a then 15-year-old Wahlberg and three friends were charged for chasing three black children and pelting them with rocks while yelling: “Kill the n*****s” until an ambulance driver intervened.
      The next day, Wahlberg harrassed another group of mostly black children (around the age of nine or 10) at the beach, gathering other white men to join in racially abusing and throwing rocks at them.
      A seemingly unrelated second incident occurred two years later in 1988, when Wahlberg attacked two Vietnamese men while high on the drug PCP.
      He called one man, Thanh Lam, a “Vietnam ***ing s***” and knocked him unconscious with a five-foot wooden stick, while punching another man, army veteran Johnny Trinh, in the eye later in the same day. Officers reported that Wahlberg used racist slurs to describe both men.
