      OMG 15 ticks during one night, I had 3 or 4 ticks in my entire life and I am walking in woods regularly 🙂 Greeting from Czechia, have fun 🙂

      Your lucky not been caught, wild camping is not aloud in the Netherlands, esspecialy not in reservations you disturb the wild life. Please respect. And ticks you found them in the wild but not that often that you mentioned, but when you camp in the wild you ask for it.

      The ticks here in New Jersey are unbelievable. As you mentioned, it is easy to pickup a half dozen ticks by just walking through a grassy area. Ticks are spread by many animals, not just deer.

      Wild camping is not allowed in the Netherlands! Please don't show this like it's normal in YouTube videos. We have very little nature as it is and we don't need a lot of misinformed foreigners camping in our woods.

      Wow! I've did my runs in the dunes and have regularly ran on the trails in Mijendeel and have never gotten a tick. Also walked there many times with no encounters. Crazy that he can just stand there and get 4 ticks on him.

      The filming and editing is good, I really like the scenery, but please do not show or promote wild camping where it isn't allowed!
      With all the ticks you discovered for yourself that it's not a good idea, but it also sets a very bad example to any touring cyclists who want to come here.

      Cycling the Netherlands was such a highlight for me and your videos are bringing me back. When we were touring we went down the coast to Dunkirk and took a ferry to the UK and it was only there that I realized how flat that part of Europe is! I had to get back into shape riding the hills of England and Wales 🙂

      I’m very unfit and I think i said somewhere already, I bought a bike to improve that. I can’t believe I’ve never been to Amsterdam so I’m thinking of maybe making my first proper trip on flat grounds from somewhere in the Netherlands to Amsterdam. So I’m really looking forward to these few videos on your journeys in your homeland 🫶🏻

      I do like the tour and you're enjoying our country. What I don't like it that you are showing wild camping like it's a normal thing. For other people, wild camping here is illegal and a big fine. There's so many camp grounds that are also with less ticks.

      But be welcome here in The Netherlands and enjoy our thousands of kilometres of bike paths!

      White or light colored, and tight weaved clothes. Pants preferably and tucked in socks. Use your bicycle mirror to check back and butt, and a fine comb for the hair. If in an infested area, avoid brushing up against bushes and branches, and tall grass.

      You camped out in the open ? It isn't the UK :). I guess you got lucky , but normally the owner of the land of the police removes you pretty quickly. Camping outside of designated camp sites (so in public) isn't allowed here. you have to book a campsite , hut or arrange to sleep on the land of a farmer or something.
