One of the wildest MTB races I’ve EVER done! An urban downhill street race in Mexico, consisting of 4 intense stages down tracks on steep stairs and fast narrow streets. Strap yourself in – this is a good one!

How would you explain this race to someone who’s never seen anything like this you like stairs oh my God you’re not afraid of walls right I mean like you’re like a little afraid but it’s Fun tired been up 24 Hours thank you thank you thank you boom so we’re going on the uh and explore the city they Ro openap and there’s going to be guys okay should be a dog a little girl oh do you do much street riding like bar spin or like just jumping stairs i d i
Saw a stair flip and I thought that was kind of f oh my God I was about to ask you like open the braks there’s no backing out like once you get going stopping is like a question mark like you can try to pull the brakes you know what I mean that
Doesn’t mean anything’s necessarily going to happen this is mental Yeah it’s great riding down but I don’t know about pushing Up oh my God I was like okay oh oh oh Stuff Hey bro how’s it going oh wild used to be the the capital of Mexico 1800s Wild got oh I think he overshot it he’s like ripped his shots I barely didn’t touch the he went quite High ready oh it’s so M mou thanks man thanks brother I’m glad someone was in front of me cuz I definely would have just gone into
That first bit way too high I was like why is he oh sh okay all right never mind you good you good a bad line whoa you okay you when I landed I think I pinched the back wheel and it just went I had no
Chance to save it it was like it was gone oh my goodness dude like how we linked like that all that [ __ ] I was like run it run it it’s quite nice that when you let off down those stairs off the road it’s quite smooth Proby pretty Crush remember
That that was dope that was so sick super hard to get to grips of the street stuff like such like a unique style of riding and I’ve never had any practice at this at all so I’m just trying to learn the fly is Big learning curve Cactuses Okay so it’s race day here in juanto today there’s two categories of racing so amateurs and pro amateurs have already set off and they’re already working their way around the trails and what they do is once the amateurs have been down they take out all the wooden features all the tabletop middle parts
Of the jumps to make it even even harder for PR Riders I’m not a big fan of that so I don’t know what’s going to happen but I’m going to go set my bike out now and we’re going to head up to the start for what’s going to be exciting day pray
For Alex no idea what’s going to happen here okay we’re ready to race I will just show you my bike that I’m using for this race here in Mexico cuz I don’t think I’ve actually shown it we’re on the vus summit 29er Wheels coil Shack on
The back love the new Lewis brakes which I’m going to be doing another video on got electric gears going on here bit of a chain tensioner just to keep things quiet which is nice that’s it Urban and jerro rig Way Des send let’s go racing we’ve been
Let loose after waiting for so long to start and we’re going to ride up to stage one now we’ve no idea where we’re going you’re supposed to follow the red arrows and we’re already lost we’re in a tunnel oh my God I hope you can see how
Steep it is is steep and it’s hot top of the first one all these people here have just walked up the track so like they don’t actually close the track for a race they just leave everything open open which is crazy don’t go down there this way this way that was
Hectic oh I can’t even remember the stage F oh my God oh my God [Applause] so stage one went okay tried to ease into it even though it was so intense at the start there was people on the track like pedestrians this place is wild there is like no rules people must get told there’s a bike race going on and
That’s about it stage one down we’re at the top of stage two now and we’re going to drop in a watermelon yes refreshing before the next Onslaught upstairs yeah right wow massive drift oh my God oh crap line I forgot to lower my seat that was pretty Scary what do you think the key to this one is to do well on stage three you have to to do it clean F the pedal section and you have to leave your light there just stand up on the pedals and leave it all have a good one yeah you
Too okay stage three fer clipped in I think so short there’s like wires hanging everywhere saddle up the spinning pedal what stage three was good for me peddled quite hard still feel like I’m just riding reserve some of this stuff is so so intense tiny margin for error I’d
Rather just make it through the day to of stage four now and I heard to it wild which is crazy so on this stage every year there’s a certain corner where there’s a certain woman that the trail the track passes right outside the door and she throws soie water on the paves
And apparently it’s super slippy you have to be real careful cuz it’s on a corner that’s like people don’t come to bite races to watch bik RAC and they just want to see absolute Carage w what an experience as you would see on the video super intense something I’ve never experienced before but it’s got me knowing at the B to want to do more of these types of races I think urban street racing is super super specific it’s a very unique style of riding
Another thing as well when we finished and crossed the line the people there they were so excited to have a race in their home City and one thing that was really cool in start for me was the number of kids there I don’t know how many people asked for photographs with me
And ask me to sign their t-shirts and posters and stuff which I’ve never done before I feel super insecure and like an imposter like why do you want my signature but it’s such a cool feeling such a cool Vibe met so many new friends out here and just want to say a massive
Thanks to ultim Urban Enduro and phosphor productions for putting on such a great event I will 100% be back I want to do more adventures in Mexico and South America so much potential so many ideas but for now peace out guys

That guy sounds really funny 😂😂😂 he seems nice though
I’d rather ride stairs than trails.. escalators are pretty fun also- you just go a lot faster
Cool way to bring people together. Hope your backs are still okay when done with this race. 👍

That s nuts! What’s the name of that race?
So good! Smashed it! Where did you end up finishing?!
My palms get sweaty just watching you guys go down those very narrow stairs at speed, and thinking how they are not hitting walls.
Well done looking foward to seeing more.
Absolute respect – great ride and well done for competing.
What are the hospitals like there ? Is it true that they make you bite on a stick while they saw your leg off because its too badly broken ? 😉
You're no imposter, more like a legitimate talent and role model.
The guy with the knee brace is wild
This is what "threading the needle" looks like!
Scary and amazing ride.
Awesome bro
That chain tension you have. Is it compatible on any bike n chain. Or does chain length need adjusting. Great video n looked amazing fun
Wow, the sense of speed with the walls so close is mind blowing. Great video, thanks Alex 👋
Have you published the raw video of this anywhere so I can load it in my VR headset and ride the trail with you?
Would the Dominer have been a better choice for this kind of terrain?
I wonder if my vitus E-Escarpe could take all that abuse of the Urban Downhill race 😂👍🏽even though you need to be a little crazy to do it dude 👍🏽💯👏🏽
Alex, I can't stop shaking. Intense is the new impossibly dangerous. Incredible. And the editing's as professional as ever. Thanks!
Pressures?

Dude, that looked so amazing and so dangerous for you and for spectators. Cheers!
Nice of you to specify that the tunnel was "underground" 😀

Wow! I'm not sure I'd have the bravery to do this or to eat Mexican street food. You guys are madmen!
Curious as to psi in front and rear. Also fork and shock settings.
howlong is that handle bar?
