Came away from this ride wanting to try more gravel, hopefully the confidence will increase the more I do it – I 100% prefer uphill to yipeeeing down!

For anyone interested my bike (LB aka Little Beasty) is a Cannondale Topstone Carbon 2 – I chose this bike after being hit by a car earlier this year, she’s the replacement for my original Canyon bike that was written off. I’ve been using her for road cycling (alongside canny) for longer rides with road tyres on as she’s super comfy over long distance and most of the lanes I ride on are very bumpy! I’m defo going to use her for more gravel rides in the future, but the road is where I’m more confident!

Thank you so much for watching, if you can spare a second to hit subscribe with your pinky that would be awesome.

  1. Always find myself chuckling along with your commentary. Like the way you manage to convey the sense of fun and adventure. Looking forward to next vid.

  2. Not a fan of of this type of riding I won’t use the bike manufacturers buzz G word to me it’s off road. It’s not my idea of fun plodding along on a loose surface. I did used to ride cyclocross but never trained off road for it fast road miles was the thing anyway thanks for the video 👍

  3. Brilliant adventure Gravel ride .. loads of fun and great company ..getting outdoors and having fun .. that’s what’s it’s all about .. giving it a go 👏👏👏👏🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🚴‍♀️🍎
Entertaining..and inspiring.. cheers Amy 😊.. great Vlog

  4. Love a bit of gravel me, good to see you playing with the dark side. Do me a favour though please, put your garmin mount on the other side so the head unit sits central in front of your stem. It's doing my OCD head in, lol 😂

  5. My bike at the moment is a Planet X Full Monty (with a few mods) and it is a bit of a mongrel, a Heinz 57 type of bike. I just ride on different surfaces as and when. I lived in Finland for 10 years where there were lots of fire roads and untarmaced roads but did mostly with mountain bikes with road tyres back in the day.

It's great to see you just enjoying cycling in all it's forms. Keep it up!!

  6. @Amycyclingadventures — Bought the same bike a couple of months ago and loving it. Just started to get into gravel riding. It's fun!!! As long as you don't run into muddy terrains, you'll be fine.

  7. I have a very gravel specific question Amy: how on earth do you get your ponytail between your helmet's shell and harness?? (Not asking for a friend 😂)

  8. It's good to expand your adventures and go off road occasionally. Looks like you had fun but I know your heart is on the road (me, too!). Thanks for sharing!!

  9. It's very clear you dont like gravel rides🤣🤣. it's a cool experience sometimes you should try it occasionally with a group.
I missed John, what a fun guy always smiling and please pass my greetings to Kyle it's been a while.

  10. As if I haven't gotvenough cycling tops but boy am I in love with John's red top. Any idea what it's called. I guess it's from Santini?

  11. I used to race cross country mountain bikes and I love it but the gravel bikes, well my opinion is you can have them. The ride is to ruff hence the reason why shocks were invented. That kind of body pounding can't be good for your body especially if you do it for a long time.

  12. Nice ride, but porridge and peanut butter is just wrong! Sounds like something from your dad’s school of cycling haute cuisine. 😅

  13. Lovely video Amy endurance is your thing for sure so I think you would make a good gravel rider. Great energy lots of yippies which is top level stuff. So keep the smiles and miles coming and we'll keep watching your adventures over here the USA. TTFN back to you!

  14. Hi Amy, great vids, inspired me to get back on the saddle and was wondering if you could do a vid on the top bike accesories for the beginner…maybe get john involved.😀

  15. could be just 80psi in the tires to help them seat, I overinflate them a little bit (not that much *don't exceed max tire press*)

  16. Amy, que rutas más bonitas. Te pintas las uñas con colores muy alegres. Me encanta. Y tu entrada a los vídeos con el índice hacia arriba me llama la atención. Saludos desde España.

  17. Great video Amy. My husband told me about your channel, I’ve watched all of your vids in the past week! I have a new MTB and rode it for the 2nd time last night, I fell off as I’m not very skilled either. 😂 I blame the handle bars, they’re a lot wider which I didn’t take into consideration when passing a fence so clipped it. It was a soft landing though ha ha x

  18. Tire pressure makes a HUGE difference…. small investment in digital gauge is worth it…cannot rely on a pinch test.
