How about this for stretching your legs during the German Alps motorcycle tour. Welcome to another QUAZY RIDE and in this video we’re taking you on ride 1 of our QUAZY RIDES German Alps tour. The German Alps lie in the most Southern part of the Bavarian region and um against
The border with Austria and it’s this beautiful area with blue mountain lakes and high peaks. And this is our first ride here which is around 215 km / 135 miles and although we will be crossing the border with Austria two times um the ride is mainly in Germany.
And the um famous Deutsche Alpsenstrasse that runs through Füssen where we are now, our Central Point, well really travels from East to West and of course the other way around as well so therefore not really ideal for a one day’s ride that we are doing.
But we will definitely do some nice parts of the Deutsche Alpenstrasse. So let’s go QUAZY! Taada! Well we think it’s time for coffee and we are approaching the centre of uh one of Germany’s most beautiful tourist regions and that is – if I pronounce it correctly -Allgäu. Because this is Kempten
The city of Kempten. So we added a stop um in the GPX file and if you want to go on this ride yourself you can download that GPX file from our website. And uh we had a well fairly early start because …
We wanted to try a Franzl or Sisi Früstück here at Sisi Zuckerbäckerei und Cafe. You know, Sisi the Duchess in and Princess of Bavaria becoming the Queen of Hungary when she married the emperor Franz Joseph.
And uh well even if you’re not here for breakfast it is a good, but pink, place to have coffee and it’s only a small walk from the bike parking that’s in your GPX file if you download it into the pedestrianised area to the Rathaus Platz. And I’m having a Herzog Max frühstück.
For lunch we have added a stop here in Oberstaufen. This modest ski area with I think 38 km / 24 miles of skiing slopes at a height of 790 metres, some 2500 ft. But also in summer there’s plenty of nice
Restaurants with beautiful terraces to have lunch. But well we had that late breakfast so uh we are skipping lunch, because we also want to have some more time in our next stop: the Breitachklam. Well the Breitachklam is a gorge that’s been cut out of the rocks by the river Breitach and it’s
The deepest gorge in the Bavarian Alps and even in Central Europe and it’s said to be spectacular, so we’re going to see if it’s spectacular enough to leave the bikes for an hour or so. From the Tiefenbach parking that we added in the GPX file you can fairly easy walk into the Breitachklam
And it is quite spectacular. There is a fee for parking and entrance as well and there’s a few recommendations for walks: like walking the Breitachklam and then coming back with the uh bus, we are doing the whole round but our recommendation is to walk into the Breitachklam from the parking uh
And then before you really start climbing, at least before you have to take the stairs, GO BACK! Well that was quite spectacular and if the weather is good we can definitely recommend going into the Breitachklam.
Maybe not the whole walk but now let’s go and find that Deutsche Alpenstrasse and do some more nice riding! Well that was some very nice riding on the German, the Deutsche Alpenstrasse and I think it’s in the top 100 of German sites because you can do some really nice cruising through the green hills
With views on the peaks and beautiful cities and villages and sometimes some nice lakes. Well we’ve already passed Füssen our central point but we’re ending this ride at one of the top attractions in the world! The Königschlösser, the King’s castles because you will find Schloss Neuschwanstein
And Hohen Schwangau. And uh see on up there Neuschwanstein. But we’ve got more information on those two castles in the video that we’ve got on Füssen with the top things that you can do in Füssen during your stay here for the German Alps tour, it’s in the middle of your screen.
We loved this ride and then we hope that you like this video and if you did please hit that like button, subscribe and hit that bell as well so we will see you on our next QUAZY RIDE.
